I think a 5 minute timer is perfect, now if people want to chat they can, or if you are just checking to see if someone is there, it should not take more then 5 minutes! Also that is what shout is for. To let other people know you are going into chat! Wait a few minutes, no one comes then you can leave!!! Awsome IDEA!!!

I love chat....its like going into "cheers". Everyone knows your name...lol and it can be alot of fun. The guys are great and the ladies that are there are fun too...we can have a lot of laughts and its a good place to go and feel welcome...i don't do cam shows...i judt like chatting it up with everyone...as far as people complaining about lurkers some do talk to us you know...lol...you may think they are just there for cam shows but they maybe just shy to partisapate in the whole bangled mess of people talking...i know sometimes i have to tell everyone to stop typing for a min so i can catch up....lol...the guys in chat used to make fun of me for that....i don't mind...the thinkg is we just all have to respect others...some people like to yack and yack and others just are not that way...some just like to sit back and enjoy our banter....i don't see anything wrong with that...it keeps them amused...if some are being a pain in the butt we can just "vote to kick" not to long ago we used to play the kick out gme..it was fun...anyway everyone just be happy...and live and let live...kisses

Would removing the cam option reduce the cost? I haven't seen this feature in other chat rooms on other forums, and I think if it is something that is causing the sps to avoid it due to unwanted pressure to put on a show, removing it altogether will put the emphasis back on "chat". Most sp members have links to their ads, sites, rates, pics, services, etc, so it shouldn't be necessary that they should provide free entertainment for that portion of the viewing audience who end up wasting their time and preventing them from making real connections to serious individuals or just chatting with cool members from all over.

I have been in chat quite consistently for several months now, one of those 'practically live there' individuals igotaboner was referring to.

 

I did notice more ladies in chat when the chat mods were around. Chat mods seem to act as a rallying flag, ladies knew who they could ask for assistance, clarification of rules and conduct and a familiar face as the chat mods seem to be around nearly always.

 

'whisper' and 'private chat' are the first two advance features which are picked up.

 

'vote to kick' and 'report user' need more exposure. Even new constant users of chat would not notice as they aren't prominent. Unless we are aware of an active harassment it is hard to educate someone of these features.

 

I am fine with chat lurkers, one lady has told me she loves lurking in chat and just listening to our inane banter. Sometimes its nice to be alone in a crowd...

I use firefox and I don't have a authorization error so because I can not recreate this error I can't help you fix it. Maybe someone else has a tip for you? If I leave the room without logging out I do get an authorization error if I try to go back in right away. I need to wait (up to 2 minutes) before the chat system clears me (this is because live streams are sometimes interrupted so it does not log you out instantly, it gives your internet connection a chance to re-establish the stream before logging you out). If you use the LOG OUT button to leave you can come right back in.

 

As for changing it from 5 minutes to 10 minutes... let's see how the 5 minutes goes. You can always log back in if you take longer than 5 minutes to smoke or pee.

Yes, of course. It would be virtually FREE to run a chat without audio and video streaming... but the live video and audio is the selling feature (to get the guys into the room and to give the ladies another marketing tool)... and it works for the ladies who use it! The other discussion boards have chat rooms too usually.. they are DEAD most of the time. This site is unique and has potential to be very popular because of this... this is what the guys want! A few may tell you differently (probably because they think that is what you want to hear from them) but those same guys are in the chat room looking at the ladies live cam streams daydreaming and fantasising about a visit with them). If you convinced yourself that the cam is not a selling feature... you are missing out!

Exactly! We are the ONLY escort site with a live audio and video enabled chat room. It should be packed!! It's unique and the other sites don't do it cause they don't want to spend the money! You don't get anywhere in this world by following or coping other sites. You need to stand out and be unique. Offer something that the people want. No matter what anyone tells you the chat is VERY busy when the ladies come in regularly and use the cams... and the ladies on cam are booking LOTS of appointments. It is a very unique tool the ladies can use!

That is silly! No one is pressured to do anything, if someone does pressure the lady they get banned from the chat if the lady wants to report them. 1/2 the time the guys will report the idiots before the ladies have the chance!

 

I think some of the ladies are not yet comfortable going on chat (and maybe jealous that some do very well with the chat video). Many of you are very self conscious and shy. So be it... when you get over your shyness come make lots of money as the cam will sell you better than any other tool you have at your disposal. In the meantime the ladies who are using the cams will clean up!

 

If someone bugs you in chat... annoys you, asks for a free show, etc... Just click the REPORT USER button on that persons account in the chat and it snap shots a copy of the chat to me and I ban them. Simple.

 

But really this rarely happens... we do monitor the room a lot.

Some idiot asking you to take your clothes off and give him a show is just annoying to click on his name, choose IGNORE USER and be done with him (Report him first to me however so I can just ban him and block his IP as no one wants to see that persons text).

If your providing free entertainment your doing something wrong! You should not see it as wasting your time. Have fun, enjoy the time, relax, tease a little or just go in without your cam off and have a text chat... no matter that your marketing yourself...

 

do whatever you want in the room and use whatever feature you feel would assist you. If you see it as entertaining someone for free and not marketing yourself ... well I will bite my tongue and just say "you are very wrong".

 

If you can not see what a HUGE marketing potential the chat room is you must be blind or possibly jealous that the other ladies who are not afraid to get on cam are cleaning up.

 

This business is all about selling a fantasy. Sex sells... and what better way to entice a guy that to show him LIVE on his screen what you look like and your personality. If television commercials were as affordable as ads in a newspaper or online every serious escort would have a commercial on TV. Nothing sells a product or service better than tv!

I did not write the software for the chat room, I can not alter it (We purchased it as you see it, it has lots of features but we are limited to what we can do based on what it has been programmed to do by the developer)

 

It is what it is... a web cam and audio enabled room. People keep asking me for features and changes to that chat room... I can't do it. It's not something that can be altered. Maybe they will make a feature like that in a future update but at this time it is what it is..

GENERAL NOTES TO THE LADIES ABOUT CHAT

 

If you don't want to use a cam... don't!

If you don't want to use a mic... don't!

If you don't want to listen to someone bugging you... click "ignore user"

If you want to report someone for being a tool... click report user

 

If you want to complain about the ladies who are using the cam and mic and making a lot of appointments and flourishing off the chat room... don't! (It's your own fault for not seeing the potential!)

My advise if you are sensitive: Grow some thicker skin and ignore the idiots or stay out of the chat room. I can not be in the room all the time to moderate it. I will kick them out and ban them but they will come back (nothing we can do to really stop them all together so it will happen - if you ignore them they get board and go away, when you show them it is bother you... well you are encouraging them to be assholes and only adding to the problem. That is exactly what they want and those guys are not about to spend any money on booking you so just report them and click on the IGNORE USER so you don't have to see them type any more).

 

Simple and easy solution for all.

As a relative Newbie to CERB, I have jumped into a chat quite a bit over the past week. I must admit I have gotten a lot of compliments and guys pm'ing me to ask me questions. Only negative experience was one guy who did start to get vulgar with his language, so I shut him down PDQ. I think he thought in PM he could get away with it, but I didn't engage. I didn't think to have him banned, but now I know better.

 

I'm a big girl, have been around, so it takes a lot to offend me. I can take care of myself. I have a wicked sense of humour, can think on my feet and type like the wind, so I believe I am a good contributor, but let's face it, it does require time and when I invest an hour or more going back and forth and answering questions between general chat and PM and don't get anything out of it, I have to ask myself how much benefit it really is PR-wise.

 

I would say not a good return from that point of view...but then again I am new, have only been on for a few weeks. I do not have a cam nor wish to use one. I am not sure if that would increase my chances for appointment, but honestly I am not going to sit there and give a show, so what's the point. You wanna know what I look like - go to my site and see my pics or book me!

 

I know a couple of SPs (members) who told me they don't go into chat anymore because it's a waste of time for them. But overall, I would say the guys have been pretty nice. When I have been on, there have been very few ladies come on, and when they did, they didn't stay on long.

 

In short, thought, in terms of PR, was NOT beneficial at all, to me. If it works for other ladies, all the power to them.

 

Any calls I have gotten off CERB were not as a result of chat, and I invested quite a bit of time answering questions with guys who seemed interested and said they were going to book me, but so far haven't. I know the purpose of chat is not to troll for business, but they were the ones who messaged me for more info. ...let's be honest, I'm not here to be some guy's entertainment for hours on end in cyberspace.

 

We all have our priorities. I will continue to use chat, but probably not to the extent I have over the past couple of weeks as a newbie "feeling" myself around. I am grateful that I did not have any "bad" experiences really, that I was made to feel welcome, so at least I can feel comfortable going on even if there are no other ladies present.

 

But, yes, lurkers...they're there....definitely.

That would be great but the chat software currently does not have any ability like this unfortunately.

 

I put in a suggestion months ago to the software company that makes the chat software we use, The request was to create a plug in with a "welcome message" so we can display a welcome here are the rules note with each log in... hopefully they eventually make this mod for us (and others I am sure who use the chat software have asked for it).

I'm not a regular in chat, so please take my comments with a grain of salt. However, I'm always a little surprised at the amount of whinging that goes on about the cam shows in the chat room. I've used chat both for actual chatting as well as admiring the lovely ladies, and I'm perfectly fine with both purposes. I agree with the mod on the marketing potential of the live video--it certainly makes me want to see a provider more! :-)

 

One question I have--there used to be two rooms, the General room (with cam) and the text-only room, with the default being the cam-enabled room. What if we went back to having the two rooms, but the default would be the text-only room? If everyone logged into the text-only room, the main conversation of chat would probably be there, and anyone who wants to partake in the cam shows would just switch rooms...

Never had a problem with it at all. When there is lurkers on cam, i call them on it and I turn it off. They figure it out quickly ;

 

The chat with cam/audio is a great marketing tool. The guys in chat have been great and and so have the ladies. I look forward to seeing who is there, and if no one is there I simply come back.

Not interested in that. If this is what people want we might as well remove the very expensive cam system... I made the text only room and no one uses it... chat is getting much better as time goes on however - I see new faces and regulars in it all the time now.
