In this world of technology, things are getting easier.

As a hobbyist, if given the preference, would you take advantage of POS debit/credit ease to pay for your date if you could or do you think that would be detrimental to your budget and bank account?

Would you do it only if there were no additional fees involved or would you be willing to pay a small fee to use (ie:$2)

Do you think there are benefits to offering POS options?

I don't have a significant other looking at my statements, so I don't have to worry so much about being discovered. I can see others being very concerned about the paper trail or forgetting that receipt in their pockets.

That aside, the POS terminal would make the visit a little less personal. While it could be okay for a SPA/massage location (which already has a business angle to it), it could really mess the mood when visiting an SP for a date.

And then I have some irrational negative vibes linking these machines with "high volume". The electronics and service setup may have gone down in prices so much that my grandmother could have one to sell her knitcraft, but I still get the mental image of a grocery store lineup.

So it'll be cash as usual for me.

Now, as electronic transactions and person-to-person transfers become even more common, my hangups with it will probably melt away.

Honestly, to pull out a POS terminal at the beginning of a date to process the payment for debit or credit would completely ruin the GFE aspect any visit with a lady for me. With the envelope, I walk in very discretely place it on a table and both of us can forget about it and move on to the experience. With a lady that I've visited with before and I trust, I'd actually prefer to pay electronically in advance via e-mail money transfer so that no payment has to occur at the time of the date at all. (I would also have cash on me just in case we run over the prepaid time)

That's just me and my preference to maintain the illusion of a "real date".

I'm definitely a cash type person. If I don't have it in cash, I don't get it. It's just something that has helped me stay out of the red and in the black.

Thank you for your input gentlemen. This is one of those questions you think you know the answer to but then you wonder if the times have changed or not. I don't like assuming so would rather ask.

I spend spare cash on this hobby, and I think the idea of using debt i.e. a credit card isn't my idea of being sensible. It's almost like having that impulse buy available at any time. I think for some people that aren't very good at managing their spending it could lead to a real problem.

I don't like to be discreet with the cash. I'm stressed out until I give it to her, and I let her know "Hey look, money!". GFE and all that comes after. I'm there to have fun, explore, experiment, not pretend that she's my girlfriend.

I know this ruins the fantasy for other men, but it does nothing for me, good or bad. Personally, I don't like walking around with a lot of cash, and I keep fearing one day, I'm going to drop the envelope somewhere, or forget it at home, or some stupidness on my part.

Credit card would be super convenient for me. As long as it doesn't have - SEX with *ESCORT NAME* on the statement. And I get points!!

To me cash is the way to go, using money you have. For this lifestyle everything, from donation to hotel to gas to the gift and tip...all cash.

I don't touch my credit card...well except to use to reserve a hotel room

Now one thing, I do use on occasion email money transfer for payment, but my chequing account has in it the disposable income I use for this lifestyle.

As for a financial record of this lifestyle, well I'm single, and if found out, I really don't care...not to say I'm not discrete, but I don't worry about people knowing I see women, women who are beautiful inside and out.

For me it has to be cash. I'm also single so not worried about a significant other seeing any paper trail. My reason for cash only and I'll be completely honest here, is that cash keeps me honest and responsible with what I spend and how often I book rendezvous.

If I were to use credit card, I know I would over spend and end up either with a big monthly bill or a maxed out card (haha). There are just way too many lovely ladies here I want to repeat with and meet for the first time. All these lovely ladies would get me in trouble financially if I was to use my credit card :icon_redface:

For me, absolutely cash only when it comes to hobbying. I have never used credit cards or any other means and I have no interest in using them either. To me, handling over an envelop with cash is a lot more personal and shows my respect and appreciation for their time they are spending with me.

Cash for me too. As Tallguy said, a terminal seems less personal for some reason.

That said, I'd make an exception if it's one of those manual credit card imprinters. Anyone remember those? It would be worth it for the laugh!

a cool thing that that is an "add on" for iphone now, its a plug in card swipe for credit cards. there is a minimal charge of 3%(?) and it saves you from pulling out this huge black pos machine lol

I prefer to pay cash, for several reasons

1. Discreet, no trail

2. I often get paid in cash

3. I would probably be concerned of card cloning since its not something that is normally offered. (I've had my card cancelled 3 time due to cloning a real pain in the ass

4. Prevents me from blowing my budget by staying longer lol

I agree with piano8958, POS would be much less stressful personally.

However for the sake of tradition and well, the experience. Cash rules IMO.

This would be more trouble, then it would be easier.

Lets say you show up at the designated location with nothing but plastic on you and the system is down you have to leave get money and return, wasting time that could result in loss of business to the provider due to time conflicts with other clients.

How is the provider supposed to know if the card isn't stolen, if it is, she will lose the money when the credit card company comes calling.

Also banks don't just hand out these thing to just anyone, a provider would more then likely have to be a registered business for a bank to issue a debit machine.

Your wife or S.O. may see your statements.

Their are many reason why this would not be a good.

Cash is King in this type of situation but I do use email transfers a lot with clients who haven't been able to go to an ATM machine for whatever reason and who don't have an SO looking at their financial statements. This happens on outcalls.

I give them my email address, we give it a few minutes and have a drink. I then check on my phone to make sure it's received and deposit it into my account and away we go.

I'm glad this picture was posted ... My dad invented the original credit card swipe machine in the late '60s, very early '70s ... anybody remember the "Chargex" credit card system from then ... that was my dad!!!! ... he passed away over 30 years ago but thanks for bringing this up, it's a fine reminder of his many inventions ... of course, the sad part is that may inventors actually had their ideas stolen by big corporations because they were too honest and failed to protect them with patents ... but I still have original technical design and drawing of his many inventions and the card swipe is definitely HIS! Thanks Tallguy and Brad ...

... He also conceptualized in the mid '60s what is today the largest computerized airline/hotel reservation system in the world ... SABRE .... and I have design of that too!!!

That's the tricky part, usually ur POS provider ask you ro have a name where the transaction can be recognize.. So one has to be creative.. Any sugestions???

Very easy ... anyone who has a POS terminal needs to be a registered business i.e. registered as in a 'corporation' with a GST number, a charter, and everything else ... but any business can operate under a different name, let me give you an example:

"Janet" the MA operates a business called "Janet MA Queen" ... that is the officially registered name either provincially or federally. However, Janet can 'operate' her business under the name "Janet Poutine and Fries" ... If you see Janet and pay her with a debit or credit card, what will appear on your bank statement is "Janet Poutine and Fries" ....

There's a strip club in Montreal that does just that ... you pay the 'champagne rooms" with a credit card but it looks on your bank statement like you had lunch at a bar ...

As with everything in this world, don't believe everything you read on the internet but investigate for yourself ... I'm just giving you a trail to follow ...

Cheers!

Footnote: What I'm trying to say is there are ways to have a completely legit debit or credit card transaction recorded in such a way it doesn't completely expose the source of the transaction, such as a numbered company for example. "Janet" could register a numbered company (cheaper to register) and operate the business under the name "Janet MA Queen", but when you pay her by CC, the numbered company's name shows up on the bank statement.

Well Al .... if I used my debit or credit card on my last couple trips to Otown ....whoever saw my bank statement would call me fatty and wonder why I wasn't 800 lbs because I obviously ate a whole fuck of a lot of poutine and fries at Janet's place and in the Champagne room ;) hehe

You're a crazy nut my friend, but I think we ate at the same bar ... were you the guy next to me gulping those poutines while I was enjoying Janet's open bar?
