As a long time lurker, BP ads seem to scare me more, as I feel that there is a sort of community here, that may help steer people in the right direction...

I browse the ads on gallery, as I'm very visual, and like to see pretty images first, and then I go by the ad itself, and what you are saying in creating my "wish list"...

bonus points for funny! (you have some zingers)

Interesting. Cause I always buy the sponsor ads, cause they are way cheaper. Good to know!

Have to admit I've always browsed Backpage using the Gallery option, holding the curser over the pic it will flip thru all the pics posted under their ads.

I've noticed the ads on the right side but never paid too much attention to them

Interesting point-of-view. I guess it depends on how you look at it. Since a regular listing is $10 and a sponsor ad is approx $30-40 depending on the week, I consider the sponsor ad to be more expensive, but I can see how one would find it cheaper, over the course of a week. The sponsor ad includes a week listed on the side, and a one time post in the regular listings. The $10 regular ad still stays in the listings for a much longer than a week, but goes lower in the listings, while the sponsor ad stays at the side, for one week only. But I think it makes more sense to bump a regular listing 3-4 times a week to the top rather than purchase a sponsor ad for the same price. Especially with their stupid community removal crap, the last few times I bought sponsors, they got removed very shortly after, so I felt ripped off.

I had a feeling they weren't looked at very often though. I wish BP would give us an idea of clicks per ad.

Thanks everyone for responding so far! :)

As someone who has always purchased a couple of sponsor ads this poll will be helpful. I have to admit I hate the site, most of the clients are tire kickers and there is to many fake ads allowed. It would be nice to know as well -how important it is to those who browse the ads being in the top few lines-or is just being on that days page enough? Is it necessary to have to bump the ads daily?

It's funny you mention bumping ads daily. I don't bump my ad unless available yet I find that I get a lot of traffic on the days I don't advertise. Go figure!

i seem to get MORE traffic on days I do not bump my ad, I find that in Vancouver, it isn't necessary to have an ad every day, and with the huge $$ increase this year, I won't do it more than twice a week, if that. The sponser ad keeps my ad on page one, and i get the top bump, for 10 bucks usually, compared to 7 bucks one time bump that drops to pg 2 by day 3. It isn't worth spending that kind of $$ for daily posts.

So the ad is being seen, i assume the sponser ad is being seen because the index ad itself can be 4 days old before i do another one.

Interesting cause I assumed no ad that day would mean not available that day. Then again I only recently found out that it pay to advertise. Should of known since nothing is free anymore!

No, we spend quite a chunk of change on advertising!

I browse in Gallery mode looking for familiar favourites, scammers, and potential newbies to TOFTT (I have a somewhat photographic memory). Because not all listings appear in Gallery mode, then I switch to Brief mode to see if there's anyone else I need to know about.

The only time I ever clicked-through a sponsor ad was for Crystal X who popped up briefly earlier this year after a bit of hiatus.

I am starting to stick with some regulars now rather than hobby around, so I have a search for each of my preferred escorts saved as a favourite/bookmark in my web browser and I click on those saved links now, bypassing 98% of everyone else on BP.

Wait, there are sponsor Ads? Honestly, I don't ever recall seeing 'em.

I usually browse in Gallery mode. Thanks to the Cowboy, it's kinda' fun to read comments on the scammers & fakes on BP.

Good poll!

Just today I got a txt, asking where have I been he had not seen my ads for while. I told him look to the right, I am there in sponsored ads, so do not feel the need to bump ad up everyday.

I fins sponsor ads cheaper too, as it ads up if you bump every day:(

I only bump ads up when I know I can expect a busy couple of days, other then that I stay in sponsor ad.

Always assumed the same as well. In fact, I thought ladies might find it a bit rude to be contacted when they weren't advertising as this might be bothering them when they wanted a day off. Up until now, I have never contacted someone who's ad I didn't see that day. Maybe I should re-think that a bit.

Definitely not always the case. Everyone has their own way of doing things, but for me personally, sometimes I only post an ad once a week on BP, yet I might still be available for appointments 6 days that week. Same with my ads on CERB and elsewhere. Everyone has their own balance and what works for them, but IMO sometimes less is more, and from a marketing/advertising perspective, there is many reasons why that is.

I too would find that confusing as I view BP to be mostly a way of finding who is working at any given time. When I use BP it is purely to find out if a lady is working on evening when I'm free and want to see someone. No ad that day, no call. To me advanced availabilities are best advertised here where you can post a schedule in your ad.

In terms of your original question - I never looked at the the sponsored ads whenever I'm in 'brief' view and they disappear when I switch to 'gallery' view which I do most of the time.

I'm the same, didn't realize they had sponsor ads?!

if i go on there, it's more i'm looking for something specific as to opposed to on here...cause the ladies are usually the same.

So i mainly use the search feature, too many ads to go through them all.

..................................................................................................................--

just to say, i don't even read the sponsor ads on here ...................................................->

i will go directly to the city and the ads there.

.

You can post your schedule in a BP ad--my current ads all have my availability posted and then I just bump the ad 2-3 times a week.

I never had much success with posting the sponsor ads. Like Meg, I often have people responding days after I post. Perhaps they search on the word "mature" or something, not sure, but regular posts work better for me.

My ads, like others who've been doing this for a while, started off in newspapers, usually weeklies. If our clients assumed the only time the ad was 'good' was the day the issue came out that would indeed be a LOT of money wasted, and one very busy day lol.

i found that internet advertising, particularly sites like CL ES at the time, and now bp, have 'trained' clients that the only 'good' ad is one that is not just posted that day, but preferable posted within the last couple of hours. They may 'take a chance' and called someone with an ad over 4 hours old, but that seemed really rare, and possibly only if they used some kind of search filter. Basically an ad on page 2 was a dead ad, and in Vancouver and other busy cities, your ad was on page 2 within a couple of hours.

I did however learn to put schedule in the online ads, so please take the time not only to look at 'today's ads, but all the ads, and you will possibly see the same kind of information. CL has very strict posting limits, and flagging and it may be possible a lady's ad gets deleted without her knowing, or she cannot post another one. With bp, the expense is so high, that she simply has to make the choice to not post daily, or utilize the less expensive sponser ad option.

In fact i think there are some cases in some cities where it should be a huge red flag to see someone posting many times a day, or even once a day, when frequent ad posting is not necessary. It kind of starts to look spammy, if not a bit desperate, neither of which is attractive. So the sp may have decided to limit her ad posting, on a less busy site, in order to appear sane as opposed to needy lol

Thanks that was very informative, and I had assumed it was free. Another expense clients fail to see.

I always hate the call or txt, I always think, what if she not working or worse what if she is working at her day job. So I think it great when a time or schedule is posted.
