My rant against the evil site

Recommended Posts

I am fully with you Meg. CERB is not only a website, it's a community where we can support eachother and share.

It's now part of my life and I always look forward to be here.

Come on now. All websites serve a purpose, even the "evil" one. You simply have to find the way it best suits your purposes and to use it judiciously. I surf it all the time. It helps me decide who NOT to see.

The only purpose they serve is to stir up shit! IMHO, that being said, I understand where you are coming from

I agree and wholeheartedly support your post Meg.

There is a caveat however... before you can appreciate how wonderful a Mercedes is, you really need to ride in a 1978 Ford Fiesta, a 1984 Lada or a Mercury Bobcat.

Before you can appreciate the wonders of a Chateauneuf du Pape, you really need to compare it to a Baby Duck, Moody Blue or a Lonesome Charlie.

Steve Miller once said "You know you got to go through hell, before you get to heaven."

CERB is like that. You can't appreciate the wonderful community we have here without having seen what is on the "dark side." I have seen it... been horrified by it... and I am so happy to be here.

So let's raise a glass of Bollinger's in the back of our Bentley and toast the finer things in life!

i'm still new to the hobby. The handful of appointments that I have made have all been with women i have discovered via Cerb. This will continue to be the case.

Meg... I have not called on you - but I soon will.

Thank you...

I agree with you Meg, and CERB is definitely the "safest" option. I also think a lot of people are sexually thrilled by the unknown and by taking risks and thus attracted to the evil site. I would say it's along the same lines of why casual sex and sex in public can be so popular.

Can we not all support the CERB community and show our support by "shopping locally"?

I agree with Meg and the other posters, IF you live in Ottawa or another big city. But there are many CERBites or others who live in places where CERB members who are SPs are few and far between. If you live in the hinterland you may have to make use of various evil sites.

So I'm guessing Winnipeg is considered "the hinterland":-(

Winnipeg has amazing women on cerb. I have a list...

I'd love to get out there.

The evil site is somewhere you go when you have not heard of CERB. Also the way to appreciate anything is to have something to compare it to. Lucky I found CERB and never will go back to the other side again. (except to read the drivel hate and laugh)

The women in Winnipeg on CERB are great!

The different sites serve different purposes. This is not an endorsement of that site. However it is free to advertise. For a provider starting off in the business it is a forum to place an ad. Not everyone starting off knows about the laws in Canada, about health matters, about reviews and recommendation boards. Heck for years hobbyists relied on newspaper ads. Some providers still advertise there, just look at the sun newspaper.

Hobbyists that look there do so for different reasons:

looking for something/someone new -because everyone is attracted to different physical and other qualities

limited other avenues to find someone

an awareness of the scene

..

..

.

Providers that advertise there do so for many reasons:

they are new to the industry and do not know of other safer forums

they want to keep costs down

they want to keep a low profile (limited ads, build up regulars and keep their regulars)

or

providers looking to expand their business

How many times have you seen a well known provider touring and having a CERB ad,an EC ad and an evil site ad in one of the bigger cities? How about local ladies with a CERB ad, and EC ad and an evil site ad all on the same night?

Yes, it happens.

That said, if it were not for participating/contributing members on boards like CERB, taking a chance on an evil site ad and booking a date with someone from the evil site, and writing a recommendation and in doing so encourage said provider to join a moderated forum like CERB, how many top CERB ladies would not necessarily be part of the CERB community? I know of quite a few! Again, not an endorsement of that site, just stating the facts for awareness. There is nonsense there and as CERB grows there will be nonsense on CERB, but it is also EVERYONE's responsibility to keep the nonsense off CERB.

Sorry to say, but it's hard to rely on one advertising site for business. Like I said before, when I first started advertising on that "evil" site, four years ago, there were maybe 10 ads tops!. Now there's 100 plus.

I have converted some clients I got from there to go to CERB...so it's not all bad.

Another great post by Seymour (every sentence of this post is very true) and yes it took me a while to figure out what the evil site is, but I think I have a good idea now as what site everyone is referring too.

I agree with everything that Seymour said and I also add that though I fully agree that cerb is the best site to be but I also believe in the freedom of choice. I also think it is a good thing to have a variety of choices in life and having a variety and choice in life is a blessing not a curse even though not all choices are always the best. Another fact remains a great number of well known cerb (great) SPs also advertise on that site and some when they started, they started there and later found out about cerb (mostly after they were recommended here) and joined cerb (and quite a few I asked them and encouraged them to join cerb and they did). Again sorry Seymour as I have to spread my rep points but your post for sure deserves rep points.

PS - This post expresses my personal views.

I understand that people who don't know of other sites, or haven't heard of all the problems, or just want to see what's happening or get free advertising use the site. All that makes sense to me.

What I don't get are those guys who talk about finding a "diamond in the rough" there. I mean, they do realize that those women aren't virgins waiting for that first man to e-mail them? Women on that site see just as many people as the others, they're not waiting for discovery- they've been discovered! It's like Christopher Columbus pretending he was the first "person" in America or something.

I get a kick out the girls who advertise "non-pro just looking to pay some bills" - as Cowboy Kenny has said, if you're exchanging money for sex, then you are a "pro".

that it is useful for exposing the fakes!

I agree, I too find it sometimes necessary to advertise there but I always include cerb and my profile name in the ad and ask them to take a look.

Or even worse, it's the guys who are looking for a "non-pro". They want to pay for sex, but they think they are "too good" to sleep with a woman who will have sex for money.

First.....You never really know how much you love something/someone until it/they are no longer available!!!! CERB is the best community and missed when they have techical issues! That being said, on with my rant....

Why do you search for that someone there?

Why do we post for that someone there?

Lately it is full of bait and switch, nasty people and abhorent, malicious posts.

Yet time and again, I keep seeing references to this horrid site right here on my precious CERB...."has anyone ever heard of so and so."

From what I can tell, there is a plethora of beautiful, respected, intelligent women to choose from on CERB.

It is a terrible fact that we must sometimes go to this hell hole in order to find hobbiests.

Not only is it a fact but a lot of work. You not only find unsavory SP's and MP's there, but we ladies must weed threw the trash that contact us in order to find a decent man!

Can we not all support the CERB community and show our support by "shopping locally"?

Sorry, but today my disillusionment must have gotten the best of me!

Happy CERBing to all!

While not using 'that site' seems like the best of ideas.. it probably doesn't help the guys when they see most of the girls here, there.

I've seen girls from here that once claimed cerb was their best resource now posting daily there.. It doesn't really set a good example for the guys if their favorite ladies and agencies are now all posting there.

I'm sure if the ladies stopped posting there, most guys would stop going. But if you keep increasing the number of 'actual' girls there, how can you expect them?

I agree whole heartedly with your comments. I advertise here first but when I have no "traffic" I place an ad there and lo and behold the calls come in. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Sometimes you need to go against your beliefs and deal with the bad. This is a business and I am a business woman. Eventhough I have well grounded morals, I still need to have success in order to pay the bills. I am terribly sad that this includes posting on that site. I do understand and realize that if we quit posting there, perhaps the gentlemen on here will stop looking .... I wish I knew the solution to this lose lose situation!

Yes, that is the really sad part.. it really is a lose lose situation.

I've so far refused to advertise there. I just don't like the site, I've read through some of the posts (non-escort ones.) and it seems to me like a bunch of kids and crazies.. To me, if that's who's posting there-- that's probably who they are mainly attracting...

My flat out refusal to post there and only here has led to an utter lack of bookings.. sometimes none. So I can see how posting there becomes essential, especially if you depend on that income.

I have other jobs, so I don't depend on the income as much as some others may, making my refusal to post there a lot easier.

I still feel the hit of everyone going there though..

I think the situation is a joint effort (both clients and escorts would have to start using more desirable advertising).. but getting the majority of people to do that is probably just short of impossible.
