Are the days of agencies coming to an end?

Recommended Posts

As someone who has been on both sides (agency and independent) I wonder are agencies doomed to end? I feel it's better to be independent, but perhaps for others there is an appeal and need?

Never been a big user of agencies but when I have it has never been a major problem just less real opportunity to connect with the lady before the booking.... I would imagine that may also be the reason the lady like the agency approach as it help keep things more strictly business.

My comment would be to each their own and as long as the agency model meets the needs of ladies they will continue to exist.

Just my Opinion

I doubt it, they are doing well here in Montreal. Always have.

Thank you for elaborating, lol.

My questioning this was opened after having discussions with other companions. All who mentioned they couldn't understand why someone would need an agency now with the internet, sites like this one, the ease of setting up ones own website, etc. But as been said to each their own and variety is good. However I think there is change in Atlantic Canada, seems to be fewer.

From what I understand, agencies do provide some service for their ladies. I think most of them cover the overhead costs such as the incall location and costs of advertising. Many also invest in professional photoshoots for the ladies to help promote them. They also handle the phones. The agency phone operator can book appointments for a lady while she is serving another client, so she doesn't miss out on business.

As far as the client is concerned, agencies can be more trustworthy. You're probably not going to get scammed with an established agency. Whenever you see an unverified independent, you are taking a risk that it is some sort of scam.

So, I think there is a place for both agencies and independents in this world. Both arrangements provide different advantages and disadvantages to their ladies and to their clients.

I've heard same, and a lot. Still, from my discussions over the years, not everyone has the discipline or willingness to set up their own business, filter clients, setting up ads, maintaining a place, getting to clients themselves etc ....

Further, as mentioned before through this board, it's a good way (my understanding) for ladies in particular, to get started. I know a few that started out this way and became indy. I dont think either is better than the other though.

I don't think agencies as going the way of the dodo bird. They've been around forever and so have indies. As stated above it's probably more work being an indy and some ladies are more tailored for that while an agency provides the basic infrastructure to operate if you're not made for that. Different strokes for different folks.

I am sure Agency's will always exist. I don't think enough male's know about places like CERB etc. so there will always be a need.

Me personally I prefer the Indy route. Once you find the right Ladies there is never any problems. Also a lot safer. This is just my opinion. If you lived in Ottawa cristy you would be one of my favs.. I can tell you that..

As a person who uses the hobby, I would rather use an independent service. I have done both to a degree, but like my last post said... I need to speak to the lady and make sure this is what I want first. (Not to offend anyone), but it's like getting to know the person you are donating too... if for example I am donating 10 penny's... I can almost be sure that those 10 penny's will be used in which ever way the SP wants.

Other way around, I'll donate 10 penny's as the SP can get what? 4-5 of them? and the rest goes elsewhere. I just don't like the feeling.

I think Malika covered the pros and cons well.

SP agencies here in Ottawa are mostly dead except for 4 Asian agencies and 1 "national" which is not too active.

MA agencies however are flourishing and are managed very well.

I don't necessarily think the client 'needs' an agency, but the sps who choose to work via an agency do. And by extension, actually the client relies on the agency for 'consistency' and 'no surprises'. He may not have seen the newest addition to the agency, but he can rely on the agency that the sp is not going to be a scammer or no show. He is banking on his history with that agency to help him make a decision.

He could go to the ad sites and find someone that way, but then he has to do his own research, screening, and it will still be a gamble. He eliminates his gambling by going back to the same agency (or agencies).

Of course the sp benefits because she is not dealing with the day to day business or booking or screening, she can (hopefully) rely on the agency to ensure her safety. As an sp, she may not feel confident that she can do this for herself. I know some sps repeat the same booking mistakes over and over, and i can never figure out why (something like not verifying an address actually exists, or call back a # used to book an appt to ensure it is not spoofed), and then there is the backup/support/safety of having a business behind you, someone 3rd party who knows who you are with, for how long, etc.

From this client's perspective. I generally prefer a lady with independent service. Like the notion of a private lady running her business. Often like to meet a lady when I'm travelling so this often means establishing or getting to know someone in advance and hopefully over time. However, I have traveled to cities and frankly didn't have the time to find someone in advance or been able to connect schedules. So in these cases I'll often turn to a reputable agency in that particular city. Glad they're there and certainly in my particular case...fill a need.

While i do not deal with agencies myself, from my observations and discussions in town on the client side, even with those that are active on the local boards (Montreal, as some agencies have been in business consistently for years as opposed to Ottawa), that the points i bolded are in fact, dead on.

I can't speak for other cities that have several agencies, obviously as i've lived in Ottawa and Montreal, but many agency clients will also benefit from their history with agencies to have recommendations made if the sp they wanted to see is busy, off or unavailable for various reasons.

The question is will agencies who offer in hosting still exist? Its easier for an agency to run their business as an out type agency and would seem to be able to adapt under the legal umbrella. However, an agency allowing clients to come visit them run a higher risk of all sorts of legal consequences and many clients wouldn't want to be "found" somewhere if you get my drift.

I think they will still exist with incalls. They're a booking agency that happens to offer an incall location for ladies to work from. In that context, I doubt LE will bother wasting time and resources busting them. Technically living off the avails is no-no, but then again so is jaywalking and I've never been busted or warned by a police officer when I fail to use a crosswalk (which is pretty much all the time...).

That being said, some municipalities are a little more active about these things than others and one city may be tolerant and accepting of incall agencies where another city is not.

Not saying that it's cool to flout the law, but rather that the law itself recognizes that circumstance and context factor in. An agency that has underage girls, citizen complaints and other reasons for LE to investigate will be targeted, but because of the aforementioned reasons not solely on the grounds that they are an incall agency.

That's always been illegal tho, now it is illegal for different reasons I guess. What i have never figured out is the arrogance and blatant law breaking by many agencies, in the agency towns. It's like they don't even know that it was and has always been illegal for them to advertise (i.e. procure, live off the avails, run or be in a bawdy house) sp services. Escort services, time/company, yes, but the ones made me LOL when they announce (to the media no less) the big changes on their sites or ads. I'm like, well, you know...... i have no idea why they were doing it in the first place.

Same with providing incalls locations, it's crazy. The reason the micro (the asian setups who use people working illegally on travel visas etc) get busted is because of their blatant ads and providing incalls. It's like an LE gift, all wrapped up, with a minimum of 6 people to arrest and 20 to deport. In Montreal recently, RCMP announces 'rescuing' 500 socalled victims, when they raided 16 shops and charged 6 people.

I'm like, again, yeah, and....? it's not like these places were hiding, not from client or LE. LE runs around every couple of years, one city or another, and sweeps in, makes themselves look like they are doing important work, then 3 months later, the ad sites are flooded again with the same people or their replacements.
