Ladies are ALWAYS going to charge what they want whether the rest of us approve or not. Some ladies would rather be HIGH volume at a lower rate than chance not having a booking at a high rate. It all comes down to what she wants to charge and how much she wants to work. In a time where people are hungry for business some will do anything to get it. You have to not let it get to you and remember that there is something for everyone and sometimes it takes time to find it. Clients will book you for you and your experience that you offer, not your price(if it is out of budget they will save up if they really want to visit (like anything if you want it you will save)) In 6 years this business has gone from one extreme to the next and you really can't let it get to you.

I recently went home to Quebec City for the week, and while eating dinner with family members, my uncle mentioned seeing a sex worker while he was in Cuba (he used the term 'prostitute', of course). The tone of the conversation was light, and many family members were teasing him because he was intoxicated when he saw her. His intoxication resulted in him penetrating her anally without her consent. The situation was 'funny' because he didn't understand why he smelled like shit until getting back to the hotel. It is small solace to know that she stole all his stuff afterward (a small act of resistance that makes me hope she's ok). I was extremely upset at the candid nature with which my family blatantly accepted this series of events. Their tacit complicity was rather revolting and yet, I'm not willing to say they're 'bad people'. There are way too many factors to take into consideration when trying to understand why something like this is 'celebrated'. There are many differences (many) between sex work in Canada, and sex tourism (although I'm not willing to hierarchasize one as 'more' emancipated than the other). People need to take into consideration things like the global political economy that enables these kinds of environments in the first place, the World Bank, and IMF (and their loaning policies), state complicity in the promotion of sex tourism, patriarchy/misogyny in 'home' states, the fetishization/eroticization of the sexual 'other', racism, a disregard for the lives of certain 'types' of people ('prostitutes' and people of colour, for example) Like I said in a different post (http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=219900#post219900), I'm not willing to say women have no sexual agency, even under conditions of extreme poverty and exploitation. Although I'm not expecting people to admit to engaging in sex tourism (especially after I framed it so negatively by bringing up my recent encounter with it), I wonder what people think about the differences between sex tourism and seeing an escort locally. Please comment on anything I've mentioned that peaks your interest. All of these issues are really important in my opinion.

I beleive it has to do on how a lady perceives her accomodations; I see it as a temporary investment that is part of the whole experience shared with my gentlemen. Entertaining in an upscale hotel suite that provide some luxuries one might not come across in everyday life, for example, a jacuzzi for 2 filled with bubbles by candle light, can be quite appealing for many as opposed to a regular room or a "quite a bit less then upscale hotel" (just using your wording) or a room that has a "motel feel" to it. I know that for some gentlemen that the ladies' choice of accomodations can be a deterrent. On a few occasions I have heard the following: "The lady I decided to see last week/month was very nice and sweet but you should've seen where she stayed. I was not impressed at all..." IF it's the ladie's habit to stay in those types of rooms/hotels, will the gentlemen repeat if they are not comfortable with their surroundings? I highly doubt it. Just like in any other business, sometimes you have to spend money to make money!

Having been on and off the smoking wagon a few times, I know or at least feel that best wishes and support help a lot. Your thread is still very much alive and your cheer leaders are still cheering! Go girl!

Well one thing about me is I have enough self confidence that I don't need to write a review that reads like a guy bragging in a locker room. I write a recommendation (if ok with the lady) just to let the lady know my time with her was appreciated, and she is attractive and desirable, while at the same time letting other guys know there is a lady that is worth getting to know. Detailed play by play, well at my age, to make that type of reading worthwhile, it would have to fall in the realm of fiction LOL. And when it comes to the ladies I see, again I have enough self confidence to see who I want to see, not who is some other guys' idea of the perfect lady. When it comes to my type of lady, two criteria, she has to be female and 25 and up. Nuff said RG

I also wanted to know if the OP was only advertising on cerb and nowhere else, because if ads are visible by non-members, then yes quite a few potential clients who contact her by email are not going to be cerb members. If cerb membership is the only screening requirement she has, then I do think it might be time to expand on that. Why not have the screening requirements lined up as 3-4 options. The client can choose the one he is most comfortable with. If the only requirement she has is book via pm with cerb handle, and the client approaches her in any other way, then so be it, turn him down until/unless he complies with the one and only requirement. Because if he thinks he's too special to follow the first and only requirement she has, what else does he think he's too special for? However, I do feel there can be a lot of emphasis on things like this that really do not guarantee a successful encounter, a good client, a potential danger, or even just a chronic no show. There are so many factors, and many experienced sps are able to find a way of screening based on a single phone call and never have one problem. Personally, if someone were to pm me to set up an appt, or ask about one, they would get a reply to call me. I want a voice verification, not a handle verification, or an email, or a text. There are dangerous people out there, of course, but not everyone calling from a block # or payphone or not wishing to give a handle is all dangerous, or sketchy, or up to something. Those ones are far fewer than the legit ones, for sure.

Too close for comfort.... CON - 152 NDP - 93 LIB - 49 BQ - 14 Cons need only 3 more seats to form a majority based on latest Nanos seat projections which also puts them at 37% nationally. Scary!!!. It is ridiculous that a party forms a majority with only 37% of the popular votes. Canadian electrol system need changing lol. In no language a majority is only 37%. http://cdnelectionwatch.blogspot.com/2011/05/nanos-tories-by-64.html?showComment=1304257228747#c8275810300148789034 Nanos will release another poll at 9pm tonight containing data from today.

Getting turned on by the misery of others is not something I will judge you for. I believe we have little control over our sexual fetishes. But I will judge an individual for actively participating in the misery of others. I think maybe the bigger faux-pas was anally raping the woman he paid, if that's what indeed happened. This is crude and inaccurate. Do you really think that there aren't women right here in Ottawa participating in the sex trade as a desperate means of survival? Do you think there aren't women in other countries who use sex work as a means of acquiring wealth? That was a huge generalization!

Like Megan, I identify as a feminist as well. To put it somewhat crudely, there are pro-sex/choice feminists (often 3rd wave feminists) and radical/cultural feminists (often 2nd wave feminists). Pro-sex/choice feminists believe that women always exercise a certain amount of agency, even under patriarchy. Radical/cultural feminists, on the other hand, believe that no woman can consent to partaking in pornography, the sex trade, or any form of labor that commodifies her body because it is happening under a patriarchal system that's 'inherently' exploitative. Even under extreme circumstances, I find it difficult to swallow that women never have a 'choice'. I think all labor under capitalism is exploitative; however, I would feel much more exploited working at McDick's then working as an escort. Just saying.

Prices are based on many different factors, ex. location, services, in/out calls, etc....! It is up to each individual to choose how much they wish to charge! I have been in my area for almost 3 years and I charge less then the rest in my area, I am also low volume! But most of the girls here will do things I would never consider! It is up to each individual to decide how much we think our time is worth! If a new girl came to town who charged less then me, I would not think of it as under cutting, because to each their own! We all need to stick together in this line of business, there are too many people in the world who degrade us for what we do! The more support we offer each other regardless of rates, services, etc.... The stronger we become, not only as individuals but as a group. Just my 2 cents!

Some people charge lower prices to see more customers, and some charge more to see less. Its all about weither you want to be high or low volume. I don't think any price is really degrading, they are just charging what they feel they can get away with in their market. Posted via Mobile Device
