I think the OP's question is better than people give him credit for. I actually think you may give your profession too little credit! I've had only one session with a provider, and let's be clear that I don't know what I'm doing. ;-) I was really conscious of the time, because I had an idea of how I wanted things to go and didn't want to get rushed at the end. Just want to start by saying that I have had many public run ins with clients-and I have to say 98% of them are just as private about our encounters as I am, and they all handle themselves accordingly ;) as do I :) Here is a story on what NOT to do when you run into an sp in a public setting. I was at the casino last year with a gf of mine. We had a very nice time. About a week or so after-I meet with a regular client of mine-who indicates to me that: 1) Was with his friends and he saw me 2) Told his friends how he knew me and what I do 3) Tried to find me-looked all over the casino-so he could introduce me to his friends as an sp Thank GOD-he did not find me that night. When he told me this-I could not believe it...His intentions were not meant to be bad-however I feel humiliated that he just spit out that info about me-that these guys know who I am as VANESSA VALE-yet I have no clue as to who they are or what they look like. IT was super invasive. And no offence, but also scary when someone can act so stupidly carless when it comes to discretion. He thought this would benefit me financially. I would rather starve and have my lights turned off than expose myself as an sp to whomever, because just like our clients, many of us ladies have to keep this hush hush too ;) It would be just as bad as me pointing out to my friends who I spend time with as an sp....privacy is important for both parties.

I must agree and thank you for taking the time to speak up. This question is not off to the best start. There is no "versus" between an SP or MA. They are both completely different experiences. There's being tactful and asking questions, but I get the impression as well the question was asked for members to explain why they do visit MA's, and for MA's to justify our services and rates? I think that's up to the OP to do his research, read the recommendations, and not challenge the activity and great feedback in the massage area. If I am approached in this manner by an inquiry, I will most likely not be booking with them.

I find attachments can naturally form, given the intimate nature of encounters. As fortunateone said, that doesn't necessarily mean crossing professional or personal boundaries. This industry doesn't have any sort of hard regulations, all we can do is know what works for us and work within the boundaries we feel comfortable with. I appreciate emails keeping in touch, but at the same time I do find it difficult to continue seeing someone when they are continually pushing that boundary (for example, asking me my real name repeatedly, when I have already said no. I don't find it cute, it's not playful, and it makes the session very difficult as I find I am more on guard). But yes, there are some mutual attachments that form within this industry, and I think that as long as both individuals are on the same page regarding their expectations, that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Given our population differences, I actually think Halifax is lucky to be as blessed with as many wonderful ladies as it is. Ottawa has over twice our population so you'd expect their to be more ladies there. And while I'm sure population is the main factor, I find this chart interesting too, which states Ottawa (at least in 2010) had the highest medium household income for a Canadian city. You'd have to think that being a city with a bit more disposable income helps! The Maritimes are also a more expensive place to travel to compared to a lot of cities. If you're in Ontario or Western Canada there are many places a lady could visit for less money than the cost of a flight out east. Geography just isn't on our side there. If there is someone you'd be interested in seeing travel our way, I think sharing your interest and wish with them is the best you can do. As Meaghan says though, offering a deposit is probably a good step, as it would be a great way to show your seriousness, as you can bet ladies typically receive many more invites and expressions of interest than they do actual bookings!

I am with Emily J on this one... I consider myself to be in the mature MA category age wise.. being in my early 30s... As long as the request is made respectfully age does not matter I have met wonderful gentlemen, some younger, some in my same age group some older and some much older... but in the opposite way I have met others not so nice.. on all group ages... I also have found that contrary to what many would think.. younger guys are very timid and do not try to cross boundaries as much as some of the more experienced gentlemen have... At the end age is no criteria to judge a clients behaviour.. One thing I may do if he looks to young is ask for ID... just to be sure!

I find younger clients intimidate me more. I've always related better to people older than myself, even outside the business, so I feel more comfortable with the mature clients. That said maturity is not always commensurate with age. I think on some level the clients who are my age or younger make me feel like I'm back in high school and have to live up to false social standards of popularity. The mature clients value my intellect and kindness as well as my looks. That said, the younger clients I have encountered have all been incredibly sweet; the things I said above reflect only on me and comment on my own insecurities rather than the demeanour of my customers. In short, I initially felt insecure around clients under 30, but have learned that there was nothing to be afraid of.

Age is a number. It is not about age. It is about respect. There are terrific 18 year old clients and terrible sixty year old would be clients. I get a mountain of emails of this sort: "I have a very large penis and I would like a very large discount." or "I am the world's biggest stud and not to be missed." All of whom I have turned down or simply deleted. A nice person who writes a nice simple introduction generally makes the best client.

I started at 25 then moved it to 30, because of the continual responses I'd get from 20 something's-hey, hey baby, what's up, I'm a hung young guy, lookin for a stud?, etc, etc!!
