  1. Thanks @Ninja83. You're an inspiration and I have to add a thanks for your acknowledgement of the NS ladies that I hope to share some time with once we're able to travel again! I love these community interviews, always eye opening and instructive so thank you to @lydiahardwood as well.
  2. Well then use the Covid alert app and simply require the establishment to do the same. It's anonymous. Sounds like you may be happier single, lol. I've been through two divorces and they are expensive but assets get equally split.... yeah I paid too much but that's another story. The consequences of not knowing you've had a potential Covid exposure could be very unpleasant: you have mild symptoms (or none) and your 'troll', who practices strict isolation gets deathly ill - think how that would go over - maybe even how you might feel.... I still stand by my comment. How many calls had Dr. Brent Roussin received? lol
  3. The national Covid alert app would work provided it's broadly used. Business should advertise that their employees have it on their phones and confirm clients should be required to download it (takes seconds) or provide government ID before entry..... fake names and numbers are just stupid.
  4. both ads appear to indicate a normal massage and don't really indicate 'extras' are available. That being said I'm not certain what the limitations for advertising are on kijiji. I would guess the MAs would be reluctant to discuss options via text but they may. If you're keen to see them then book an appointment and the worst that can happen is you leave having had a great massage! Do confirm with the MA their Covid protocols - safety is never guaranteed but both parties should respect how it's managed. Let us know how things work out1
  5. Agreed. It's obviously not the clients who are not aware of the boards who post here and elsewhere seeking information without doing any homework nor exercising any common sense, which can be in short supply when the little head takes over brain function, lol. Generally I observe newbie questions posted here are gently guided to many of the excellent resources available on lyla. I think lyla is among the better/best of boards. That being said it's the only one I'm a member on .... yeah I've perused a few terb posts due to ladies providing reviews from there but the inevitable toxicity always shows up too. @Greenteal I agree with all your points but this one. I'm a fan of decriminalization as opposed to legalization for the sex trade. Our current laws just make it less safe for SWs but updating them isn't going to do anything to eliminate the "dark/grey market". That is grounded in place by personal circumstances, perceived need for discretion, stigma and judgement. There is a long road ahead of us.
  6. A little off topic but @newfy's post reminded me of this classic. Going to spin the vinyl now!
  7. Leolist verification is meaningless. It basically means the pic included something scrawled on a piece of paper. There was no statement about a lyla recommendation - see quote below and note the "quotes". This situation seems to me to be someone who simply didn't do any basic homework and ignored multiple warning about gift cards, etc. There is far more valuable advice here on lyla than there are false "vouches". Leolist is the source of just about all the fakers and results in all sorts of goofy requests like 'anybody seen her?' 'any info?' I highly recommend reviewing the profile of any member who provides a reco or posts an ad. You can discern a lot by doing this: when they joined, when they last visited, review their content (where they post from - i.e. location if they haven;t listed in in their profile) and the type of posts they've made. Shills and suspicious posts tend to stick out like a sore thumb. As an example I recently saw one member who is closing in on his 4th year on the board whose posts paint a troublesome picture: on one thread he was called out by a couple of maritime based SPs as a 'wanna be pimp' (I agree) and he clearly lives nowhere near the east coast. I appreciate @Allie Zeon for raising this concern as it reflects back on reputable SWs (though it really shouldn't) like herself and helps protect the less experienced clients. I have to admit I have difficulty being sympathetic with clients who do virtually no homework. Members like @Greenteal have posted simple instruction on how to verify pics (if that's a concern for you). I happen to use e-transfers where possible but that's because I can and I generally only see reputable Lyla members who have some history on here. Once an SP has established a brand and reputation (reco or no reco) they've no interest in doing anything to mess that up. They want repeat clients. I note my perspective is being posted from a population centre in Ontario so the challenges in NB are different.
  8. I was going to suggest that showing your phone had the Covid alert app downloaded might meet the requirements for contact tracing info but it might not work, depending on timing, If it were an employee or masseuse were the ones to have the positive test it might. I'm writing from Ottawa where all the commercial establishments are closed but private masseuses are still advertising on LL. Going for a massage isn't likely to reduce the chance of viral spread. Don;t know how Winterpeg is doing with the battle but there's always everyone's dear friend Palmela Handerson to pay a visit to.... Call your MPP's office and ask.
  9. Yeah. I've noticed Notch has a propensity for doing this: posting a single pic that could fit into almost half a dozen threads - fripples, lingerie, bums, cleavage..... I could go on but you get the idea. I find it very disconcerting as I become distracted and lost (in the best possible way) not knowing which thread I'm viewing, lol. Reminds me of the # thread......
  10. lol man! Take a look at the post above by the member who helped lift you out of purgatory (me)! I happen to be identified as an elite member simply because I have 500+ post - I'm not suggesting they were all great or even helpful ones..... but I did find a couple of your posts helpful to me. Keep contributing and posting :) .... The only prize we get is contributing to the lyla community.
  11. Don't believe I've ever interacted with you before @boomer01 as I'm Ontario based but welcome back - and especially because your thank you note above perfectly underlines the benefits of a positive space like Lyla.
  12. BOOM! @Phaedrus nailed it. Well thought out, considered, informative, challenging and enjoyable interview. Great perspective offered. A huge thanks to @Phaedrus and @lydiahardwood for bringing this to us. It's Phaedrus' last paragraph that shows us a road forward.
  13. I wish it were a wet one.... but I'm fearful I've just sent more work your way and no pleasure. "All work and no play makes Lydia......." OK, I'll settle for not being a nightmare :)
  14. To be clear the terms new/moderated member are no longer pertinent and should simply be eliminated. @lydiahardwoodThis is an annoying fix as all the excellent work you've done to rebuild the community and board mean moderation and monitoring are impossible..... and now I've gone and contributed to creating another task to distract you from more important contributions 😞 So here's one to correct: he helped me out with a comment on a thread I was interested in and when I checked his username and profile realized he had been on here longer than me, despite at the time having only about 15 posts - @newfy His name leads me to share another suggestion for many members that they can do on their own. Include the general location or nearest larger city as your location. This can help folks make suggestions for you if you're after information. It's usually pretty easy to determine 'where' ones interests are by simply glancing through previous posts and reactions in someone's content listing but this makes it easier and thus more helpful to you and others.
  15. I had a toddler escape from the seat - either before the belts were installed or he undid the buckle - and fall to the concrete floor..... my wife insisted I take him to the hospital to be checked out. He has grown to be a multi time Olympian so no serious damage done. We all eat a peck of dirt before we die so put the kids in the cart.
  16. Many thoughtful, excellent points made here @OldandNerdy and this one rang very true to me: I find this is stated with understanding and respect. I also want to add that the final banner, which I'm assuming @lydiahardwood provided, "STAND UP FOR EQUALITY" identifies an opportunity for clients.
  17. When it comes to hockey I'd rather play than watch. Now I really want to watch. Hell I may even buy a ticket.
  18. @roamingguy does this indicate you're occasionally towing a fishing boat (not needed for ice fishing btw) or have you got a truck bed load of cheese curds? Either way, I'm jealous!
  19. @Jenesis I think you've handled this challenge well and I hope it resolves positively for both you and your employee. This comment reminded me of this song - the lyric "...gonna punch that time clock till it can't ring....... cause no one's gonna fold bend or mutilate me.." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsDkmVo2fg4 Harkens back to delivering long files on Fortran punch cards down snowy Ottawa sidewalks to the GSC mainframe computer :)
  20. Well, it appears you claim to have seen her.... ???
  21. I like the idea of 'an ally to sex workers'. There are likely a few interviews worth of different takes on this topic and it is an important one. I'll overuse the common Covid-19 phrase: 'We're all in this together' .....
