  2. Last time I used an agency they didn't even ask for my name. Just a phone number in case they needed to reach me. The phone person seemed rather perplexed when I asked if they wanted my name. It seems to me that agencies tend to operate at a much higher level of "anonymity" with very little information often being exchanged. I recognize, however, that I rarely use agencies, so my experience could be very unrepresentative of the practices of many agencies.
  3. Thanks everyone ... this is an amazing community. When I started down this road, I could never have imagined that such a place existed, where one could find like-minded men and women that shared common passions, and with whom you could discuss, debate, and share ideas about this lifestyle. CERB has become part of my life and the friendship of the people on this board is incredibly important to me. And Savannah darling ... you're my hero too. Planning a trip back to the Rock so I'll be in touch. Thanks again to everyone for your kind words and support. Porthos
  4. Realized that I've just now hit 2000 posts. Not approaching the total of many, but I'm still rather pleased.
  5. I was out of the office for a few days last week, and now I'm trying to get caught up. Zero motivation is making it difficult, but coffee is helping.
  6. congrats and glad you're part of this community.

  10. I think if you are booking last minute the best thing to do is inquire about availability rather than asking for a specific time. IN other words, rather than saying "I'd like to see you in 10 minutes", you say, "I'd like to see you this afternoon if it's at all possible. I realize this is last minute, but if you can see me, what time would work for you". If she can accommodate you she will, and will let you know when. Responses to last minute requests can also vary depending on whether you have a relationship with the provider. I once texted a regular who I saw every couple of weeks. It was totally spur of the moment and unlike me. I just texted her, told her I was thinking about her, that I had some free time in the afternoon, and wondered if she was available. I was standing at her door a half hour later and spent a delightfully unexpected afternoon in her embrace. In general though, to answer the OP's question ... I would never call last minute and expect an appointment in anything less than 1 - 3 hours later.

  15. I hold doors all the time for ladies. I've never once been chastized for it. Having said that, i also have no objections when they hold the door for me. Porthos
  16. That is definitely a bad stretch. I'm a scheduler too and usually book well in advance. You have to recognize that people are frequently busy, and juggling bookings, sessions, and all the "hidden from view" aspects of the business can be demanding. In general, i usually use e-mail or pm to make contact. If I haven't heard in a 2-3 days i might send a polite follow-up e-mail. If I don't hear after that, I'd likely move on. Of course, it also depends on when you want your appointment. If you're booking for 3 days in the future, and you haven't heard anything in two days, then it's likely reasonable to assume your preferred time can't be accommodated and move on. If you're booking 3 weeks in advance, you might encounter a slightly longer wait as the lady may be busy booking appointments that are coming up sooner. there are a lot of factors that come into play in deciding what is a "reasonable" timeframe. 17. If anyone has been following the well-deserved misfortunes of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), this is a brilliant parody of the "shipping forecast" based on the parties homophobic and intolerant policies/statements of members. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/01/19/ukip-shipping-forecast-gay_n_4628625.html
  18. Happy birthday Meg ... hope you're having a wonderful day.
