  1. I hear ya. Shit, I used to look forward to the strip club Christmas parties more than my own friends' Christmas parties.
  2. LOL I didn't even think of that, shit is different now. I guess bachelor parties are gone too, eh? Or significantly modified LOL.
  3. Posted on their Instagram last night that they were at full (reduced) capacity. Anyone got a sitrep?
  4. Step 3 Permitted to operate as a strip club in alignment with restaurant and performance restrictions "performance restrictions"... there's the question
  5. Keep in mind, I don't know anything, OK? Consider that Phil owns the building, the owner of Nuden owns the building, I don't know about the Playmate. Those guys, if they sold - and I thought this when a listing came out last year for Barefax, especially Phil - would take a huge loss. I'm guessing they'd have to be offered a freaking TON over what the property is actually worth, and the potential of the club to make. There's no point. The only profit is to ride out this current shit and wait till the clubs come back.
  6. We have enough evidence now that it's private social gatherings where people get infected. You get this virus from family, friends, and especially co-workers. "Strip clubs" just makes for a big juicy headline.
  7. I'm almost certain the owner(s) of NuDen owns the entire building. Not a question of rent, just keeping the property working.
  8. NuDen Instagram: Bare with us as we continue to adapt to the times. All adult entertainment clubs are forced to close across Ontario. We are remaining open, welcome to Ottawa’s only Sport Grill & Adult Arcade! We will have professional Aerial shows Thursday through to Saturday. Stay tuned! So it looks like they're getting creative / rebranding / pulling an end run. See how it works out.
  9. IDK man, I'm looking at a thread right below this one hoping against logic that a club stays open, and in this one fellas are complaining about an extra four bucks cover. ~\😀/~
  10. My understanding is that some years ago the bylaw governing adult licenses was amended so that no new ones would ever be assigned. Only the current ones, in the hands of the current owners (and family) would exist, and when they went out of business strip clubs would eventually disappear.
  11. So IMO the real question is, are the girls making money under these circumstances? If the boys adjust and the business goes back to the way it was 30 years ago, the business stays alive. If the girls don't make money, all you have is one expensive bar.
  12. Believe it or not, I'm wondering if this is a more realistic take. I see all those Americans on the news saying "let us go free", they don't give a shit about any virus anymore. The women want to go get haircuts; how many of those guys with the Confederate flags are thinking "fuck it I'm headin' to the titty bar?" I mean, let's be honest, the reason I'm reading these forums is because I'm wondering when I'll be heading back!
  13. Good points being expressed here. All the views are valid and appreciated. Let me ask you this: Have you considered the number of young ladies who like to strip as a way to make money, and want the clubs to stay open? There's an existing workforce which will suffer - is suffering right now - if the genre is let die. I won't go into all the benefits, but trust me, the girls I've known have appreciated and enjoyed the opportunity - they're not victims. My point being that as much as we might worry that losing customers will kill SCs, I don't think there's any danger of the workforce of dancers going away. So as long as there are girls, there will be - yeah, maybe less - guys who want to see them. Thus there will be owners who will see viability in financing a SC. As for what's gonna keep the business exciting, I have to echo rocky's idea earlier. I've been to two nights in the past few years where a SC was packed wall to wall, like back in the old days. First one, when NuDen booked Christy Mack for an appearance. Second, the final weekend at Barb's. Both times, the crowd was driven by the fact that all the women came out. Shit, the night Barb's closed down there were women there from 10 and 15 years ago. So I say, rocky had the big idea - Events.
  14. Turns out I haven't been to a club in the past few weeks, so I'm short on news. Keeping this strictly in terms of our favorite pastime, obviously current events will impact the livelihoods of our local venues, servers, and entertainers. Thought I'd open up a space to discuss how the industry in Ottawa is handling it. What are you hearing about working hours, closures, impact on the business? And no, I'm not asking for my self interest. Not to be a White Knight, but the most important thing is the safety and health of the girls and bar staff.
  15. My opinion? The guy is fucking around with himself just as much as he's fucking around with them. Steer clear, but I'm sure the ladies know that just as well.
  16. Oh yeah, no. The amount of weird stories I've heard. Guys who want special this or that. Or worse, just want to talk shit about their special thing but don't actually want to spend money. The girls all know if you've got some weird-ass shit going on. You're just humiliating yourself.
  17. Are these fuckin' dopes trying to put themselves out of business? God knows there are enough other people trying to.
  18. "Mileage is always with the right girl" is the only genuine truth.
  19. NuDen. She was there last night.
  20. Actually, I recognized many faces in the crowd. The ladies may not have gotten back on the stage but they definitely showed up to reminisce. Hell of a thing that the best night in the club's last ten years was the last one, but ain't that life?
