I found my missing dog safe and sound! So happy :)

Extra special thanks to those cerb members who sent suggestions, well wishes and offered time out if their busy lives to come and help search. I won't list names, but know that I have a special appreciation for each and everyone of you.

Walking down La rue St-Jean in Québec City and remember I used to walk down this road when I was a teenager. It brings back so many fond memories...

Back from a weekend out of town. All in all, it was great to break the routine. Couldn't help but smile while i walked saturday, i stumbled on a store and couldn't help but smile and think about a few of my lady CERB friends (if you read this you know who you are ;-) ) ... i was brought to a bite-size cupcake store.

Today is my dad's 92nd birthday. Somehow, he recently passed the eye test for driver license renewel. He still transports himself during daylight hours, does his own shopping and mows his lawn. Still a sportsman, i put the boat in and out for him so he can fish a little bit, and he still likes to sit on his treestand although these days he usually sleeps.

He has survived WWII, heart attacks, glaucoma, 15 or more surgeries, the death of my sister at age 4, and the death of his 60 year soul-mate. The only extracurricular diddling he ever did was overseas during the war.( I believe him).

He made a pile of money, but earned every cent working 6 days a week until age 72. Former employees from years ago still approach him and speak to him as if he were their own dad. If anyone has deserved a long, peaceful retirement, it is he. There are still some other similar old gents around, but not many left. I think that mold is broken. I'm blessed to still have him around

The seasonal Bath And Body Works 3 wick candles. I have one burning now that I saved from last Christmas: Fresh Balsam. Mmmmmm. (Yes, I know- I'm rushing the holidays a bit! haha)

I have had a couple of absolutely delightful days.

Yesterday I began working toward achieving a personal goal for this winter, and that being to learn to skate again. At one time I was a very good skater and a pretty good hockey player. Just over fifteen years ago I had a medical issue that put my skating to an end, or so I believed.

Well last spring my kids and a friend got me to rent a pair of skates and we did multiple laps of the outdoor Halifax oval. On the first lap I was thinking that this was a very bad idea, and was being pretty well held up by all of them. By the second lap I was gaining a bit of confidence and by the end of our time I was thinking to myself that "Hey, MN2, you can learn to do this again."

On the weekend I bought a decent pair of broken in skates for $10 on a buy sell and trade site, and yesterday and today I started my skating program. No one was needed to hold me up, I actually did the turn sideways to do a proper stop, and I am on my way. :) It feels pretty good to be on skates again!

So, when does the canal freeze over in Ottawa should I plan a trip up that way??? Any ladies want to hold my hand for a leisurely skate?

Got the results of my physical a few weeks ago, and I show indications that I might have diabetes :-(

Last Friday took a diabetes test, had to drink this sickingly sweet stuff and wait two hours, but I digress.

Got results back, don't have diabetes...false alarm :-)

The down side, there is bullsh--t going on at work (why I was off from August to mid October) even now, and I just haven't been eating right, screwing up my blood sugar. Forcing myself to eat now, even if not hungry

But god am I glad for CERB, and even more so, for the ladies here, seeing them is my monthly escape

My new duo partner, Emma.

She is amazing, we've know each other for a while, but she only told me that she started to escort again.

ALL OF THE HUMPING! :D
