The highlight of my day is realizing that there's nothing wrong with going to school part-time. I have what I like to call 'exceedingly high standards of personal excellence' and this means I work too hard sometimes, to the detriment of my mental health. Balance is important, and I found mine today!

The past couple of weeks have shown me that it's important I prioritize my friends and family in my life right now. They are my support network and I love them dearly! Being a teacher's assistant, research assistant, on top of full-time course work and escorting has been really difficult! I'm going to take my time while I do my M.A. and enjoy life a little bit.

Sorry for disappearing on you all while I figured that out!

Aww thank you Angela. You are right, birthdays make me happy :) my mom says every time we have a birthday is a chance to like start fresh and I believe is true. Plus is also the perfect excuse to eat cake haha

Seeing how excited Isabella Gia gets about not only her own birthday, but everyone's else's birthday as well. Hope your day was great!

I keep Nyjer seed in my bird feeders in my back yard to attract chickadees and finches. There is nothing like waking up to the peep peep of happy little song birds while the sunshine peers through the blinds to put me in an amazing mood. and then the rest of the morning routine is take Sookie (my pitbull) to Tim's for coffee and Timbits :)

Had an easy gig yesterday. Got a free coffee at a hotel Starbucks because they ran out of my type and had to blend in another coffee. Went to Wally World to get a 16Gb memory chip and a few other things. The chip did not scan. Cashier put it in the bag anyway so free $24 chip to put in camera I got for my birthday. Bought a 649, too. If that turns into anything, I'll let you know.

A nice day.

I'm grateful the weather has been fantastic all week because I had to walk everywhere to get all the things I needed

(no car- see the 'things that suck thread' lol). At the same time, I rediscovered that walking long distances was therapeutic and relaxing in many ways. I'm also sleeping much better at night :)

I am never really satisfied when I get a haircut so I took matters into my own hands today. Cut my own hair and love it! (I do cut hair for friends and family members just never tried it on myself)

Receiving a very sweet and unexpected text from a member who is an incredible gentleman, funny and extremely kind. He and I may never get to meet face-to-face because of distance but he certainly makes me laugh, smile and I appreciated that. Those are the little things that just make me smile and love my job.

You know who you are, so I'm blowing a kiss up in to the sky for you, now all you have to do is reached up and grab it.

Kisses,

Lexy

I can now play 'trapeze waltz' and 'ski ride' on the accordion. I'm learning the coordination required to play a keyboard with my right hand, press buttons with my left, and maintain a continuous airflow in the bellows. I've been experimenting with melody. I think it's so much fun- but I am a bit concerned that my neighbours don't agree. I'm pretty sure it was my playing that made their baby cry.

It was a real pleasure seeing a member back on here after she was gone for the past 3 months. We exchanged hello's, through email and she is a true friend, for me sometimes as a friend you have true concern for a friend that disappears for bit hoping they are well. So glad to see her back ;) so welcome back Jade -S. :)

Got up early as normal, and was able to get myself to my running club group and ran about 10K, tough battle, since it has been a month to run that distance, but it then become a great feeling for the day.

Might need to go find a way to work the kinks out later, but that will be another highlight to mention later.

Keep it up! I played the ole Sqawck Box for eight years and it can be a fun experience. If I hear Lady of Spain one more time please shoot me!
