Looking to become an SP

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm looking to become an SP, if anyone has any tips or advice, please feel free to comment or PM me!

Male SP* Sorry for the confusion!!! :)

Well I can only offer perhaps a helpful observation: The ratio of male SPs vs. female SPs seems oddly lopsided to an extreme. As women become more career minded and don't have time for romantic hassles and attitudes slowly change one would expect this to change along with it, in the mean time whatever demand there is for this out there (and I'm sure there is "some") can't be adequately served by the available numbers so it could be highly lucrative depending on a great number of factors.

As someone who has worked as a male escort in Europe, I find there isn't much of a market in Canada for this service. Had a couple of female clients in Montreal, but there is not a high demand for it here. Best advice would be to do it part time.

What if he's a Male SP for males? I don't think he specified but I don't see a lot of them advertising either.

If he is, from what I understand there is a good market for M4M.

Male SP*

Sorry for the confusion!!! :)

The entire market for male SP's is on the homosexual side, very little on the heterosexual side. If you're expecting to be on the heterosexual side, then I would discourage against it.

I have to agree... if he is looking to escort ladies he won't be getting many calls from soccer moms. It's just not socially acceptable to them and they wouldn't feel comfortable engaging his services even if they wanted to (and I'm sure some do but still won't go there).

That said, provided he is well mannered, educated, sophisticated, a great dresser and has the right look there are lots of wealthy ladies that absolutely do go there, but they won't be responding to an ad in the newspaper. A much more sophisticated and elegant marketing approach is required to reach that audience which would be quite challenging but ultimately lucrative for the few that get there.

I have to ask, guys... how do you know this?

Really, seeing SPs isn't something that's talked about much. I don't know that anyone I know does it... but then again, nobody I know knows I do it, either. Would the same not apply to women who might be interested in a male SP? To be sure, it may be even less socially acceptable than it is for us guys... but that probably just means it's pushed even further into the shadows, not that it doesn't happen at all. I can tell you that there's *way* more SPs in my locality than I thought there would be before I joined CERB.

I have no idea what the market for women seeing a male SP would be like. I have no clue how much demand there is, and how much pent-up demand there might be that could potentially be released. And I have no idea how a would-be male SP would go about reaching that potential market. It does, however, seem obviously to me that some women *are* interested in no-strings-attached sex (not with me, alas, but that's another matter), and I don't see why at least some of them wouldn't be prepared to pay for it. And I see no reason why this wouldn't cut across all social classes, in the same way that the guys here come from all walks of life.

Given all that, I really don't have much useful to say :) But good luck you you, PhantomKnight - and if you feel like letting us know, I'd be interested to hear how it turns out.

Thanks all for the tips! I appreciate it!

Hopefully I can get myself off the ground soon.

Is there any female SP's willing to train/teach me? Make some extra cash on top of their normal work?

If so, PM me please!!

Why not find someone in your area who appeals to you? Meet with her a couple of times, enjoy yourself and then see if she might be willing to discuss things further with you. Of course, you should expect to pay her full fee at all times.

It might not be wise to raise the "I want to be a male escort, will you teach me?" thing right away. It's not legal to counsel anyone to get into prostitution. If I received the request, I'd probably turn it down because it would be very difficult to be sure I wasn't being set up in some way. But with an established client, assuming I felt comfortable, things might be different.

Phantom Knight: I don't understand what you are looking to learn from a female escort. This isn't like working a cash where we teach you one way and that's the way it is.

Are you good with people?

Do you feel you can create connections with everyone?

Can you talk to anyone about anything?

Are you comfortable in bed and naked?

If you answered no to any of those, you need to rethink your plan of becoming an escort.

It's not all sucky fucky.

I'm not sure what you're looking for from a "teacher".

You can't teach being good with people. You either have it or you don't.

I don't know what you are looking to "learn". I can't teach you to lick box or make out right, nor can I teach you how to converse with someone.

Honestly, throw up an ad and hope for the best, that's what I did. (Three years ago...lol)

There are two ways to learn the sex trade. One is to jump in and learn as you go, the other is to go to work for an agency and learn the trade from the ground up.

I feel one of the problems today is the deviation from our history of the game being "sold, not told". It might sound a little street but it is a golden rule. Sps handing out hard earned, dangerously learned or self taught information is like us handing out $100 bills to anyone who asks for one. Why would any SP that understands that knowledge is the most valuable asset she has, willingly hand it out to someone who we don't know?

My advice would be to shit or get off the pot, don't expect a free hand out as one needs to earn the trust of providers first before expecting us to "give" you something as valuable as our inner wealth.

Cat,

While I thank you for your friendly insight of "Shit or get off the Pot" I like to do research and planning before I start a business venture.

I was not asking for a hand out, and unfortunately I didn't specify what I was looking for in advance. However I was offering to pay for any services rendered. You're not handing out 100's if you are getting them back. As a male SP, I wouldn't imagine that I would hurt your client list or any potential future clientele.

I also did not mean to offend you or the professions "Golden Rules" so to speak in any way. I just need to learn them! :)

From what I understand CERB is a great place to meet and learn about the business. Social networking (IE: Meeting female SP's) potentially hiring one for business related "Mentoring" was what I had in mind.

I don't need lessons in how to "Lick Box" or kiss properly, but I need the business advice from the women who have experience. In example:

1. How to keep it discreet from my family

2. Things I should do in case certain "events" happen (Whatever crazy things you ladies have to deal with on a daily basis)

3. Things such as hotels, information in regards to out call's, in calls etc..

I have a thousand questions and there is only so much research I can do via the internet before I feel I should consult a pro.

I agree meeting and greeting with some of the girls and establishing a report is a great idea, I'm just wondering if there are any SP's willing to do such things. If there is, please pm me! :)

Sorry for the confusion!

Cheers,

PK

Why are you looking to female escorts for advice, wouldn't it be advantageous to seek out male escorts for their advice

Some of the advice you seek is something both SP's and Clients

learn as they go

Keeping it a secret from family. We all learn how to be discrete in this lifestyle but it depends on your personal circumstances

How to handle certain events. Again, one of those things you learn as you go

(events can happen to both SP and client)...I may be wrong but there is no playbook saying if scenario x happens this is what you do, if scenario y happens this is what you do etc etc etc

My crash course on hotels for you (as a client) Hotels expect to have customers come to stay overnight, or multi nights...that is what they are in business for. Don't have a revolving door hotel room, one client after another, and be discrete and quiet, don't give hotel management a reason to check your room

I completely understand Cat's sentiments, this is not just their livelihood, it is for lack of a better word their trade, one that was hard learned. Handing over trade secrets (and every lady has some practices unique to her own business in all likelihood)

Really as Sara says hang out a ad. You'll likely make mistakes, that's how the ladies learned, but you'll know whether at the end of the day whether being a male escort is for you

While I think it might feel like going indy is the way to go, you might actually have a bit better start going with an agency that represents male escorts as well. They would have some tips and general ground rules, but they will also have a built in client list and credibility for you in terms of your potential clients.

Women are maybe more hesitant to call up a male escort in the first place, but they may be more confident to call a service.

If you want an sp to give business tips advice, I kind of think that not many will do that. Nothing against you, and no one is saying that they consider you competition, so no need to be offended by this hesitance. I think most sps are pretty wary, especially when it comes to guys wanting to spend time with them in any capacity, but especially in a business related capacity. YOu will have a hard time convincing anyone that being an escort is really your goal, as opposed to using your wiles to charm an sp out of her $$. To put it bluntly, that is probably the first reaction many sps will have, regardless of how you may phrase it lol.

The advice to just put up an ad is a good one. It is also a good idea to do what most other sps do, who go one step beyond just putting up an ad: They read other ads, they read websites, and they read what people are saying on forums. They learn what people complain about and take steps to not do those things. They learn what people rave about, and strive to do those things. They learn what are their personal limits, and then they find out how many people will call them out to 'test' them. They learn how to provide good customer service without being a pushover.

There is a lot of information you can get for those main three questions simply by reading one site with an etiquette page, and one recommendation with enough details.

I think you are attempting to make this far more complex than it needs to be. Everything you want to know to get started, no one can just 'teach' that kind of thing. YOu need to know what works for you specifically.

There are a couple of websites with some basics, like spoc, chezstella and tradesecrets. http://tradesecretsguide.blogspot.ca/

I can totally screen these questions... :D

NOW WITH MORE HUMOR!

1) How to keep it discreet from your family.

Don't tell anyone. (The less people that know, the less of a chance there is of someone saying "Hey, you're a prostitute".)

2. Things I should do in case certain "events" happen (Whatever crazy things you ladies have to deal with on a daily basis)

The "crazy things" we have to worry about are a little different than what you would, I think.

I doubt you have to worry about a woman overpowering you and taking your money... (I don't either, cause I'm a little ballsy and a whole lotta crazy.) Unless you're a little waif and then well, you shouldn't be asking how to be a prostitute.

I don't think you need to worry about "Holy shit I started my rags while I'm with a new client and there's blood everywhere..." If you do... I got nothing for that. LOL!

A crazy thing for you would be... F*ck, I can't get hard cause she's really, REALLY not doing anything for me and I forgot to bring blue pills... and I don't know what to tell you in that case... Think of whatever the opposite of your grandma is.

3. Things such as hotels, information in regards to out call's, in calls etc..

Maybe we can help you on this one, I couldn't really cause I work from home. You don't really need screening, cause honestly, considering you won't get many calls, I say take what you can get. Unless you're working for men too, then maybe you'll be busier... I don't know.

In short, read what you can on here about becoming an SP. Here's my hints:

Take whatever you've learned in life and use it.

Take whatever you learned in business and use it.

*(Haven't learned anything in business... Take a small business course, cause that's what this is).

Use your common sense and trust your gut.

I should charge for a Howtobeahooker course! :D

Additional Comments:

I didn't mean to come off as harsh, but this is like anything in life, you just have to do it. *(Escorting is worse than most things actually, as no one holds your hand to walk you through the steps.)

I've also learned throughout my life that life is coarse and harsh. Nothing is candy coated for us in life, and it only gets worse as we get older.

I think that maybe why I offer life with a side of humour. ;)

Sorry to come off as offensive!

Don't mean to sound blunt, but unless your are willing to service men, I would not suggest you quit your day job. Just saying...

No, not offensive at all (IMO), rather darn funny! I had a great laugh! You said it like it is! Yes, I commented your post was coarse and harsh (and it was and it needed to be because life is sometimes like that) and I agree with it (almost completely: except if she isn't doing it for him, the little blue pills aren't helpful so it won't matter if he forgot them) :)

No, it was a GREAT post!!! Like so many of your other posts. Nothing inappropriate or offensive at all. It needed to be said, thanks for saying it in such a wonderfully humorous way.

And thanks for the laughs from a couple of thousand miles away!

So I was doing a little research for someone that PMed me with a request for information and ended up visiting a site I had never visited before: SEA. So although I wasn't looking for this, while there I happened to notice a significant number of male for female SPs out there. It was quite surprising really.

Now we don't get many here (male SPs) because most of our female members are SPs and we even have a few female clients of female SPs. But if CERB becomes more popular then I guess we can expect that to change.

Just want to say thank you all for your positive feedback!!!

As an update, I took some advice from a few of you and I've started.

It's actually been a lot better than I have expected! :)

Cheers to all,
