I'd never suggest to a visitor to "bring" anything. As a host I offer:) But if a visitor wanted to gift me with a bottle of something it certainly would be greatly appreciated.

I usually have red wine, rum, vodka, rye or beer on hand and sometimes, baileys, grand marnier, Courvoisier.

Most gents choose red wine. Lately I've been trying different Malbecs, haven't found a fave yet, still enjoying the search though:)

Love a good ceaser as well, hate when celery isn't used though, the bean, cucumber and all the other "new" additives just don't equal good, but that's just my taste:)

I am a lover of fine red wine -- although I have found a few "cheap" bottles that are FABULOUS.

 

If it's a cocktail night, Bacardi Gold and either Orange Sanpellegrino, or cranberry juice and gingerale :)

 

I used to be a rum and Pepsi girl, but me and Pepsi are friends off ;)

I love Bailey's Caramel and Coffee in the morning, especially when cold or rainy.

 

I love flavored teas when the mood hits. Stash is amazing

 

Love a great bourbon with Wild Turkey Rare Bread, Copper Pot and Evan Williams leading the way.

 

I like a red Chilean while cooking and Rickards Red when enjoying music and conversation.

 

As for those hot summer nights, I love strawberry margarita's or my own concoction, a s**t bomb.

 

I do like to try new cocktails and wines though as long as they're not dry or bitter.

 

OH, almost forgot. I love a good Guinness pour in the pub! Sexy in a glass

Well, I am not much of a connoisseur of drink, nor much of a drinker, but I do have my my preferences.

 

For most of the time it is a red beer at room temperature right out of the box, and I am partial to Gahan beers from a microbrewery here on the Island. On those hot days in summer ice cold from the fridge is best.

 

On December 1st I start with my own recipe for hot rum toddies that take me through until New Years.

 

For wine it is dry reds, and I would put my own home made wines against anything I have ever purchased.

During the day I enjoy some good café mocha; for the evening once in a while red wine (usually cabernet sauvignon), and rarely, when I am out for an evening with friends, a Caesar or a Cosmopolitan (yep, I am a girly cocktail drinker). But never ever offer me Champagne, it makes me sick like hell!

Water room temp or cold.

Shirley temples ( extra cherries please!)

Milk shakes of many varieties

Root Beer Floats, Yum!

Coconut water

Pineapple juice

Earl Grey Vanilla tea and teas in general

If I have coffee it's a Mocha or Latte of some sort, but that is a very rare occurrence.

 

As for the boozy drinks, well I hardly ever drink, but I like a variety of drinks. So it's hard to say. I think when I do drink it all depends on my mood. For the most part though, I much prefer the above.

But likely is Beer, Wine or Scotch. Not usually on the same night. Haha

My favourite drink always depends upon the situation.

 

- A nice cold beer on a patio in the summer

- A smooth ale or porter in the lounge of the curling club after a close game

- A good glass of wine (white or red) with dinner

- A single malt whiskey in the evening in my big comfty chair

- A nice port with some cheese in the late evening

- a new cocktail that a friend recommends

+ a million other situations

 

The most important thing is that there is someone there enjoying the moment with you.
