Merry christmas (and happy holidays to our "non christmas" celebrating members) and happy new years. We survived 20121221 as i suspected we would but then again the server did die on us! Lets hope that was the last of the 2012 problems! Hope you all have a safe and fun holiday. Very best wishes to all.... I think this was the best year with cerb for me and i owe that to the council members, the other moderator and all the great members.

Gouging?? That's a bit hysterical, isn't it? After all, using the services of an SP is an extreme personal luxury. Not a life necessity like food, fuel, heat, shelter, shoes for your kids. Gouging happens when one jacks up the price of something that people can't go without. If they raised the price of Porsches by 25% one year, though, it would not be thought of as gouging because Porsches are luxuries for those who can afford them. There is no obligation to make them cheap enough for everyone to have one. To put some perspective on this matter, when I first worked in Toronto in 1982, the going rate was $250/hour. That's what I'm charging today. During that time, rents, many food costs, cost of a new car, fuel and heating oil have risen steadily (which I don't mind so much; I am more upset that quality and customer service has plunged). In one year, due to the application of the HST, my home heating oil bill shot up 8%. I'm not talking about luxuries, but life necessities. Prices may fluctuate a bit from one year to the next, but looked at over the course of decades, our rates are stuck in a rut. Generally, it's considered to be in very poor taste to complain about the price of luxuries. No one owes you a luxury experience. It's something you can either afford to treat yourself to or not. Merry Christmas!

I have a list of sexy clients as long as my arm but none of them would want to be listed here. They pay for my service which is based on discretion at all times. They know who they ;) are and don't need a shout out... cat

Lots of good points here. Just wanted to add in: Someone new to the biz sets a rate according to what they think the rates 'out there' are. Maybe they look at other ads, compare their bodies/ages to those ads, and say that if that one charges 250, then I am worth 300. In other words, new advertisers don't know what, according to clients, they are supposed to be charging for what they provide. Because also if they are new, a couple of things happen. They don't know the business, and don't know how to provide a decent session. They think 'it's sex, I've had sex so I can do this". They don't factor in that their clients will be a variety of people, and they have no clue how to screen them so they see everyone. Being new a lot of clients will contact them, so they are seeing a lot of people in one day. So they get tired, they get distracted that all their clients don't look or smell as good as they'd like to have in front of them, and their phone is ringing due to them being new so they see the $$ coming in hand over fist, so in their minds, they are doing everything right. Give it 3 or 4 months, when the phone doesn't ring as often, and a lot of guys do not call them back, and they will either quit or they will start spamming the ad section thinking that is the problem, or they will get a clue and realize that there are a number of things that make this a business not a party, and will take the steps they need to do. That might be a price drop, or an attitude change, or the ability to screen so they aren't saying yes to everyone, particularily people they may not click with. Also they may just be wary and nervous on first visits, and it is not a reflection of what they would be like on 2nd or 3rds.

To list them would take too long. I'd love to but that's our secret, shhhhh:icon_cool:. If they have done a recco, that's anyother story but 90% like our secret and I do too. They know exactly who they are and I make sure they do. Over and Over Again!! I nominate all the real and true Gentlemen of Cerb, whether we have only chatted or got down Lexy Style!

All I can say, when I look back at all of the escapes I have had this past year (and since I embarked on this lifestyle) with the ladies of CERB, one thing that isn't even an issue is the donation. The rates you have all charged don't come close to reflecting the real value of the escape, companionship, memories, (and even in some cases friendship) you have provided to me. The rates have all been more than fair considering what has been provided in exchange So I would just like to say to you ladies, charge what your time and companionship is worth, don't let any guys try to pressure you to reduce your rate. And a Thank You to the ladies I have seen, and provided a positive escape in my life A quick Christmas rambling RG

I should note too that sometimes a rate fluctuation is just a miscalculation on our part. But when we know we've screwed up, we have to put it right. Sometimes that means putting the price down a bit. Other times, raising it. When i first started seeing people out here in the sticks, I lowered my rate. My reasoning was that the lower rate would compensate my Ottawa regulars for coming the distance to see me. But it turned out that those regulars who could and would come all this way to see me continued paying my old rate, even though I told them a lower rate was available. And for those who couldn't or wouldn't come out here to see me, the lower rate didn't affect their decision. Meanwhile, I was advertising and picking up new clients out here, at the lower rate. Which was not good for me. The lower your rate, the more appointments you need to accept to cover your costs each month. In my situation, I need to keep traffic to a minimum, so by simply returning my rates to where they were before I left Ottawa, I could cut down on a lot of traffic. Of course, I continue to honour the lower rate for those good customers I acquired at that rate. But the higher rate takes more pressure off than you'll ever know. Over the years, many prospects have informed me that if I'd simply cut my rates in half, I would get twice as many customers. They say this like it's a good thing. But let me ask you this: if someone told you if you worked for half what you do, you could work twice as many hours, would that sound like a good thing to you? Run twice as hard for the same amount of money? I just don't see the selling point in that argument.

I'd like to offer my own warm wishes to everyone here, and in particular: - to the women I've spent time with this year: thanks so much. Your company has been exciting, intoxicating, engaging, refreshing, and healing for my body, mind, and soul. And... a whole lot of plain old fun! Really. Thank you. - to everyone I've traded ideas with here through the past year; thank you too. I'm really happy to have a place to discuss such a wide range of subjects, and especially to explore sexuality (because how many other places are there to do it and receive thoughtful, informed replies!?). It's the quality of the community that keeps me engaged and coming back time after time. - and to everyone else reading this who doesn't fall into those categories; thanks for simply being here and supporting this site. I hope it's been as great a resource for you as it has for me. My best wishes to everyone; I hope you find a few presents under the tree tomorrow morning, and new adventures, discoveries, surprises, and fulfillment in the coming year.

Lingerie is often most beautiful as it's being dropped to the floor (I'm choosing to assume she's taking it off rather than putting it on)

I have to say, I think people get much too worked up over this stuff. There's only really a couple of things to say. First: we (almost) all have to get used to the fact that there are some things in life we want, but can't afford. Anyone who's even remotely considering spending hundreds of dollars on seeing a SP, no matter how many hundreds of dollars, isn't that badly off and shouldn't have too much to complain about in the grand scheme of things. There's no point being bitter about the fact that someone you really want to see is a bit out of your price range; ultimately, it hurts no-one save yourself. Second, and similarly, there's little to be gained by being bitter if you feel an encounter wasn't worth what you paid for it. Given the highly personal nature of what we're discussing here, we all have slightly different ideas of what "good" or "better" or "worth the $$$" actually involve, and that's before you get into completely intangible things like "chemistry". It's simply not reasonable to expect to hit the bullseye every time. Third: I know I'm going to sound like some sort of ultra-capitalist zealot by saying this, but... trust the market. SPs scamming people or delivering crappy service at top-end rates exist, and will always exist, and there isn't a lot we can do about it except avoiding them... but once everyone avoids them, they'll swiftly be gone. Similarly, SPs will adjust their rates until their income and number of clients they're seeing get to where they want them to be, or they realize that their goals are unachievable (not everyone is capable of meeting the expectations of clients paying top-end rates) and adjust accordingly. One thing that I have to note here is the essential role that CERB and other boards play in this: for markets to work efficiently, there has to be a free exchange of information. This is why recos here, reviews elsewhere and resources like CK's diary are so critical; they allow us guys to make informed decisions about who to see, and who's better avoided. If you had a great time, give that information to everyone else; if it was bad... well, you can't say so here, but bear in mind that although silence can speak volumes, it doesn't if you never say anything at all.
