I really want you to understand how much it was appreciated to read all your great words and your positive messages about our new move and knowing that you are following our steps and believe in our capacity to build our own independent location was absolutely wonderful... When you never been indy before , it is a big step to fly with your own wings and I would be lying saying that I wasn't nervous , but this week I have been covered by your faith and your encouragement words and I felt blessed ... Lyla was for me an advertisement platform where I can get visibility and meet new potential clients , now I see it differently.. Yes it is still an incredible way to build a great clientele, but it is also a platform full of amazing people that are helping each other ... I'm not the guy who pushes the limits in the back room. I'm the respectful one. I like to have a good time, but I don't go against club policy. That said, I know some guys and gals do. The owner has cameras in the champagne room to keep everyone safe, in theory, but I've been hearing some disturbing reports. I love new technologies and the idea that I can watch my security camera feed from my phone is welcome news. However, it troubles me that the owner (or manager, or whoever has access) is able to view them from home and/or show the video to their friends. You see, the video isn't just live. It is recorded for them to view. I'm sure it was intended to be used for safety, but I've had more than one person say that the owner has shown them past video of them ON HIS PHONE regarding some transgression in the champagne room that he wants explained. The angle of the cameras leaves much room for supposition on the part of management, and nothing at all in the way of evidence one way or the other. It could look way worse than it actually is. Of course, it could be exactly what it looks like, too. Still, these limited-line-of-sight videos are being used to punish the dancers. I don't know about you, but I don't want there to be recorded video of me getting lap dances. Period. I don't care if it's legal, or within his rights to do so, or not. I won't be returning as long as those cameras exist in the back. There are other clubs not too much further away that I also enjoy.

"Making a deposit when booking with a Provider." This point was brought up by a fellow punter on another thread, "Disrespect and appointment times". It seems that not just a few, or many, but all Providers are having a long ongoing issue with no-shows, or late, and last minute cancellations. This is not just occurring with new but with long-time well established Providers. As a result of this it is, we, punters that are and will suffer the consequences of some peoples' actions. For instance, some Providers are double booking in order to try and alleviate a problem we, as punters, created. After being enlightened of what Providers do and go through for us, "Disrespect and appointment times", I was left feeling disappointed with perhaps how some people do not show or give them enough respect. After reading that thread I, for one, sympathized with them on this issue since I, for one, do appreciate all the joy and pleasure they bring me! The thread also made me realize that their weekly time in the industry is not just the weekly total time spent with punters. If we don't do anything about this issue maybe "deposit when booking" is in the future!?! Let's help alleviate the problem now! I don't know how you feel but does anyone in the industry want to start "deposit when booking", I know I don't!

Just a note that I have stopped going to Barbs as a consequence of just the kind of punishment mentioned at the beginning of this thread. A lady I know - now out of the business - was banned for two weeks, apparently for excessive 'grinding'. This was conveyed to her ex post facto via a played back recording. She also witnessed the play back of two others who were banned - for more extreme behaviors.(Reason to believe that there is in fact totally unwarranted sharing of such videos.) Now for the kicker.. that was two years ago. It would seem this has been a practice at Barbs for some time. I am not aware of cameras at other clubs - or at least I am not aware of them being used in this kind of malicious manner. Hope this helps.

Point taken. Although I wonder if a court would see it this way, at least for the purpose of judging the application of such privacy legislation. Overall, I really would have concerns that the installation at 340 is not meeting the standard set out in these guidelines and thus I'm wondering if the use of surveillance in this case is actually in some aspect(s) in contravention with the letter of the law.

This is really very enlightening. If all of these "guidelines" were explicitly and rigourously adhered to, there would be scant cause for concern. If. I note particularly the admonition that "[t]he recorded images must be stored in a secure location...". Wondering if a smartphone qualifies. Also notable is the statement that the guidelines do not "apply to the surveillance of employees." This seems to be the purpose of the surveillance in this case.

They now have a deal with the brig next door so if you want to order kitchen food the menu on all the tables are menu off of the brig!!! I heard the chicken avocado sandwich was pretty good ! "...in the Cloud..." Now that is a truly very disturbing possibilty. I've been working on the assumption that this would be a kind of internal CCTV (as the British say) kind of thing, but the notion that cloud storage is being used is somewhat concerning. But, come to think of it, if material is being shown via smartphone it is clearly already vulnerable and, to some degree, 'out there'. Not to mention lower tech distribution methods.

Unfortunately CarpeDiem my reasons for continuing to go to Barbs is much stronger than yours (liking the ladies too much who I will miss than liking the staff, just kidding:)) so unlike you I can't stop going there in spite of everything. I agree with you that cameras won't make it much safer for dancers for reasons you stated very well. The fact that most dancers take me to the two chairs next to the vending machine where supposedly there are no cameras could be (not is for sure) an indication that most dancers are not happy about being recorded either. Potential issues raised so far in this thread about the possible misuse or malicious use of past recordings have concerned me as well as I have been to this bar likely more than a thousand times past 20 years. Though the fact that cameras have been there for years maybe even decades and it has never been used maliciously is a positive sign for future. I hate to be the pessimistic one but Barbs owner has proven in the past that he is quite stubborn about his policies. I read somewhere that a few years ago he was told about complains regarding his open champagne room on cerb by a distinguished cerb member and he didn't wish to listen and claimed he never heard of cerb and then said he runs a clean establishment and will not change his CR and he didn't!..... In other words this or other threads about issues at Barbs or even in-person complain will not likely change anything but again this is just my opinion and I hope I am wrong. Btw, I was told by dancers who I trust that there are no cameras at Barefax in the champagne rooms and I would be really surprised if there are cameras at Playmates though never asked anyone because I never suspected this possibility at PM considering that they have an upstairs for more privacy of dances.

I'm guessing (and it's only a guess) that the configuration of the CR booths at the 'Fax is not particularly good for this type of surveillance. As far as the 'Mate is concerned, I can only conclude that many dancers (and patrons) are, to say the least, less than concerned about the possibilty of installed surveillance. Of course, this is not to say that the 'Mate CR is camera-free.

While many of us probably have been aware of the possibility (or indeed likelihood) of recording devices in the CR at Barb's, it is more than bit disconcerting to be told that the owner (and possibly other staff) are showing "past video" to people on his/their smartphone. KiltBoy, without getting into specific individuals, are those (the "more than one person") you allude to here dancers or patrons? One would hope that the recorded video is erased after review (for either song count disputes or behaviour transgression) but I suppose that we have to be aware of the ever-present possibility that the material is retained. A major concern (of patrons and dancers) in this regard has to be that a disgruntled staff member who has managed to gain access to some or all of the archived digital video will malevolently make this material available on some public forum or, after the closure of the club (sorry to raise that topic again), the video files will be released into the wild in some way. Perhaps one should not panic on this count, but the worst case scenario is indeed somewhat troubling. P.S. : Does anyone have any inkling or speculation as to just where the cameras are located and thus what their potential lines-of-sight might encompass? Given the height of the CR stall walls and the position of the cubicle, I always guessed (perhaps incorrectly) that the last stall in the corner across from the DJ booth (the southeast corner of the CR, aka 'Jenny's office') would not be easily viewed by any camera placement except one directly overhead. Maybe I did not fully consider the possibilities of various placements and sight-lines.

I have been going to Barbarellas for almost 20 years likely longer than anyone on this board and the only reason is that for some reason or reasons they are able to attract very attractive classy young ladies but to be honest I never liked the staff there or their Cameras or their open champagne rooms (since 2008 because of the City bylaw for which they went too far but before that private dances were private). As for cameras for sure there were there up till a few years ago and they could be seen. In fact 15 years ago they displayed a notice at the check-in that they monitored champagne rooms with cameras but what I didn't know until now was that they are still there. I thought they were removed a few years ago and I have looked everywhere and couldn't see anything resembling a hidden camera but I could be wrong. I remember a few years ago when I complained about cameras to dancers and lack of privacy (I don't do anything extra or illegal either but I would like my privacy for what is called 'private' dances) I was told that these cameras are there to settle disputes not to watch over customers or monitor dancers. By dispute I mean when a customer complains about number of dances then they watch the cameras to settle dispute (we both know there are a few dancers out there in every bar who inflate the number of dances as per my experiences on one occasion a dancer asked for 5 ($100) after 2 songs but I always pay and never dispute but some don't and this is when cameras help). As much as I don't like the bar itself especially a couple of daytime staff with serious attitudes I will continue to go there but with lesser frequency as I really love most of the ladies who work there some of whom I know for years and consider them as friends. The closest to Barbarellas (in terms of young attractive classy ladies they are able to attract) is Barefax whose champagne rooms are private with no cameras so I have started going there instead on more occasions but Barefax is dead on Saturdays when I usually go out and there is no substitute for it except Barbarellas.

When I 'Retired' the first time, it had been after eight years in the business. I had completed school and simply started working in an unrelated industry, which gave me little time to book appointments - even with regulars. You do build connections in this business though, and sometimes the good ones can last a lifetime! This is no different than any other 'working' friendship you may develop over time, in any other line of employment. If you want to take a step back and only book with regulars, you can always create a newsletter to advertise only to your previous clientele. You can designate a few days a month for appointments, so that you can utilize your other days as you see fit...without feeling guilty for being unavailable to your favorites. You can test out 'full' retirement for a while, and take a break...and you can always come back. That is the beauty of this industry!

Friday evening was fun, the women were young and beautiful. I had a great time with Chloe (black hair pulled back, pale skin, glasses, bit of a Drew Barrymore thing going on). TOFTT is not the easiest path for a hobbyist! Nikki, this angel of a woman, has helped to make up for the unpleasant experiences I have encountered. She has the tools, the looks and the mindset to become an established and elite provider. Nikki doesn't just have the power to seduce any man in her presence. She has the power to happily sedate any man in her presence. I saw her ad late Friday afternoon, contemplated for a while and decided to contact her after dinner. Ready in about 2 hours?" This was my second clue that I was on the right path. I informed her that all was well and I then prepared for my visit with Nikki. Next question: Does anybody know with certainty which clubs do or don't have cameras in the CR? For the ones that do, does anybody know of any policies about review and retention, other than "the owner can do whatever he wants, show it to his friends, publish it on PornTube, whatever?"

Man! What a can of worms!! First of all, a huge THANK YOU to Kilt Boy for raising this issue. I'm sure you were somewhat troubled about whether to open this topic, but I'm very glad you did. There is a note about video surveillance at the club, I didn't realize it extended to the CR. On the one hand, the arguments for video surveillance are somewhat valid. But I'm afraid the "EWWWW" factor outweighs them. Fortunately, I don't have any "blackmailability" about any video of me, but it is my privacy, and from what has been said there's WAY too much looseness about how these videos are being played and reused. One interesting issue in the Cloud is that high tech companies are having various files subpoenaed for various reasons. These video files would almost certainly be subject to subpoena in any civil or criminal case. <JOKE>On the other hand, maybe I should hope it gets out. How cool are you among your friends if they find out there's "PORN VIDEO" of you out there? Can we claim residuals??</JOKE> On the issue of the safety of the dancers, which is the only issue I care about, i) there's almost always more than one back there, ii) the dj is usually in the booth, in clear earshot of a yell or scream, iii) even if i) and ii) don't apply, I think if a dancer yelled or screamed, someone would hear it in the club, and iv) any bad-minded customers know all of this. I've never asked, but dancers, do you feel that if the video was removed, you'd feel less safe? So, bottom line, absolutely not acceptable, I won't be going for any dances until it's removed. Which almost certainly means I won't be at the club, unfortunately. Unlike another poster, I really like all of the staff there, and I'm going to miss them!

Well if it is not being monitored live anymore then it is of little help as far as safety of dancers is concerned. Also in an open champagne room like Barbarellas with more then one dancer in the room most of the time it is very unlikely that a dancer would be in a serious situation in my view. I think that also it is the dancer who should assess the situation and if it is not to her liking then should stop the dance and leave but that is again just my view. In summary I don't believe that there should be cameras where so called private dancing is taking place. All strip bars have been hit bad recent years for various reasons described before but Barbarellas has been hit the worst and in my view it is their own doing by taking things to the extreme like having cameras in the champagne rooms where PRIVATE dances are taking place and worse punishing dancers for that or creating totally open champagne rooms or hiring bad staff with attitudes (both daytime and evening) and not acting on customers' complains but all these again are just my views. Btw, if you are really concerned about cameras then a few dancers told me that the two chairs next to bank and vender machines at the back have no cameras. Again here I am posting what I was told and I don't guarantee its accuracy. Some dancers have preference for these two chairs and is almost always occupied so as why I suspect it may be true.

It is well known that most Ladies have sort of "black" list of clients (no show, time wasters, rude and disrespectful, etc...). Do you have an opposite list - favorite or preferable clients who you are always really glad to see or maybe even ready to adjust your schedule to meet such a client?

Safety of dancers is always a concern and in an sc, the level of vulnerability is high, no doubt.... but that too comes with job... some of the potential risk should be managed by the women themselves.... they should sit down and talk with the guy in the lounge first and assess the 'creepiness' or 'ungentlemenness' level of the client and go to cr if they are comfortable with the client.... however cameras are a bit of a stickler for me.... a) because you are recording a girl naked (i mean it's really hard to get a girl to agree to be recorded while naked in any other case).... and b) do i really want to be recorded with a naked girl in an sc? I mean it could potentially be much worse if the guy is married.... at any establishment/business, it is the priority of management to ensure the safety of their employees.... however at an sc, is HD cameras really the way to do it? Most of the times its my girlfriends or my booker that answers the phone/text so I think they should advertise that I'm not good in English and that people should be aware of it when they come see me ... reason im on my phone when im busy with someone is because im using Google Translator to understand what hes trying to explain to me :( ..... To the guys throwing in the argument of "well some girls double book!"- two things. One: you missing out on an appointment is far less of a problem then her missing out on income. You can reschedule with another girl at a moments notice. She can't make that grocery money re-appear. (It SUCKS, yes, but it is not worse.) Two: you won't like this- but its self-created. Gents created that obstacle of doublebooking. SPs cannot get rid of this issue on their own. As, besides the general, I guess "crazies" that routinely do it on backpage, the problem is the general, regular, reputable gents that DO do this. I would count myself lucky in that I've yet to have any ncns, but some girls are having this issue... and I've read guys reactions to being doublebooked is to just fakebook her further. Which makes the problem worse. Which incites more fAkebooking. Etc. Stop the vigilante fakebooking stuff and likely your (excess in) doublebooking problems will go away too.

On same topic as our friend r__d raised, saying that I am waiting for another dancer only works half the time for me when the lady leaves with smile. This is so cool. I remember her face for a next time visit. The other half either the lady leaves with anger or disappointed at the very least (which makes me sad and not to enjoy my time anymore). Or much worse as on a few occasions the lady persisted real bad saying that she is here now and asking me to take her to CR rather than waiting for another lady!!!!! and doesn't leave for minutes trying to convince...... This makes me both sad and angry and has happened quite a few times and I left the bar soon after. I do understand that ladies needs money to pay for bar fees and living expenses and all that but look at it from my perspective. Money is hard to come by and I have to be selective on those I am most attracted to. Weekends is supposed to relax me from Monday to Friday stressful job not to stress me further. I think it is best if the lady leaves and seek another patron who may be attracted to her or may not be waiting for another dancer. Additional Comments: Yes it is a good strategy I have done in winter times when I have a jacket and leave it next to myself (day times only of course as you need to check in the jacket night times) and then remove it when you see your favorite dancer approaching. And yes I can confirm it is very effective but sometimes it backfires as even the one(s) you are interested like a new dancer also will/may avoid you as she thinks that you wish to be left alone.

I haven't done this, but if you place a kerchief on the seat beside you they will tend to leave you alone. An obvious move as dancers sometimes do this to mark their territory when they go on stage or visit the bathroom and are afraid you might be tempted elsewhere :)

I love it when I get a friend request from a woman on here. It makes me take notice. I love it even more when we have a conversation, when we talk about interests and travel and other things before we've even met. You have a sense of the person, and a heightened sense of anticipation. And when she posts an album with pictures like this one, then I know I have to see her :). That's what happened with Daniella. So after much conversation on here, I met Daniella last week. She's smart, fascinating, well travelled, and enthusiastic. She has a fit, hot body. She gives a great massage. I had an amazing time with her, and I am so glad that she made the first move! :) More moves to follow....

Arrived just before 6 and I missed Jade, Megan *and* you today. Drat. Fortunately Seven and Natasha were there to entertain me. And I learnt that Natasha knows the perfect way to pick up a stage diving tip!

Another quiet Friday afternoon at Barefax for two consecutive weeks. Not sure what is happening but usually Fridays are the best day of the week in this bar. About two dozen ladies (usual Barefax ladies plus a few new faces from Toronto and Montreal) but about a dozen or so patrons between 4 to 5 pm. It was heartbreaking to see so many ladies not making money so I left soon after 5. However, I admire the bar because they continued to have stage dances one after another without any break even though there were only few patrons left at 5. Remember these ladies have to pay for the bar fee and some are coming from other cities so they have to also pay for transportation and rent and they come to work in order to see you gentlemen and give you pleasure by their beautiful looks and kind personalities. So please come and support the ladies who are there to give you pleasure and also please support the bars (all of them) or they will be forced to close down as few have done so past decade. Anyhow usually Fridays is a party environment at Barefax and the best food you can get in town (roast beef, salad, roast potato .....) and you can get the buffet twice (at noon until 2 pm and again between 4:30 yo 6 pm) and all for free. Also at Barefax the CR is most private compare to other bars in the city of Ottawa so dances are really private unlike other Ottawa bars (by private I don't mean necessarily more mileage as I don't know as I said in the other thread I only take regular dances but dances are private in terms of haviing privacy while taking dances at Barefax). In addition the ladies are nice and beautiful and relatively young as well. I don't recommend Saturdays as very few ladies work on Saturdays but definitely Fridays.

Samantha is a new Montréal girl. She asked me if she was supposed to take her panties off in the back room. Uh, yes! Please! I mean, of course I'm going to say yes, but ... YES! Still, a very enjoyable dance. Seven and Natasha always please me just the right way. Jade is awesome, and Megan put on a great show, but I had to stop. Sorry ladies.

I spent 35+ years in a very high stress environment. For years I could not wait til I could get the hell out. Then suddenly I woke up one day and that was the day. You cannot imagine how fast 35 years go by! No more pressure. I always had bills, mortgage, commitments. I had to work. Now everything is paid off, I can walk out anytime with a full pension...and I don't want to. With no pressure any job is ninety percent more bearable.

I have a section that depicts some of the things I appreciate on my website, as far as gifts go. Simply to give ideas and so that the client need not feel awkward about asking me what I want/like. But essentially I am thrilled with anything someone brings over (of course as Nicolette said, as long as there are no conditions on the gift) because it means that they were being thoughtful towards Me and that, to me, means a lot. A gift I once received was something that I had never thought to ask for. I have always wanted someone to make me a playlist of their favourite songs/songs that make them think of me. This client made me a playlist and he didn't even know that this was something I had always wanted. A gift does not need to be elaborate or expensive. As cliché as it sounds, it's the thought that counts. If given with kind intentions.

Had the pleasure of meeting this young lady recently at Barbarellas . Beautiful eyes , smile and the view brought a big smile to my face as well . She has a confident ease about her which made the conversation flow back and forth as if we already shared a familiarty. As we decided to continue our meeting in a more private setting , the comfort increased with one another and she was discreet with keeping me informed how far we had come and allowing me to decide to continue or not . I much enjoyed my time with Megandancer and look forward to more time together in the future .

I can only speak for myself but I do not feel what I do requires any less grooming. My philosophy in such matters is that you can never go wrong with a clean shave or neat trim. Think of it like a garden: a lovely British garden will certainly still be a pleasant sight for a wilderness afficcionado but the reverse is quite unlikely. In fact MA are mostly in giving mode. Which requires a high level of motivation to have the proper energy in our touch. If the sights, smells and feels are conducive to be naturally inclined, it certainly benefits all involved. It reminds me of our annual corn family parties. My brothers and I would get on fights because they were stripping them carelessly while I was careful to remove all the cornsilk. Once cooked, of course they did not want to have the cornsilk stuck in their teeth so they would fish in the pot for mine, leaving theirs for the other guests and I! But I disgress...

New here and would like to thank everyone who contributed to this thread with their informative information for someone like myself who is brand new to hobbying. Hoping to learn a lot and eventually be able to give back to the community one way or another!
