  1. Apparently Christy Mack will be "appearing" at the NuDen on Saturday, December 2nd, 10:30. The club says advance tickets are "going fast". Wonder what this will be like? But do I wonder enough for a $20 ($25 door) cover charge?

chances are we've gone too far you took my time and you took my money
  3. Haven't yet seen my ex-ATF tending bar at 340 - guess I'm not in often enough or at the right times. Maybe Nat is only doing evening shifts in contrast to her schedule when she was a dancer. 4. ....and live happily ever after in "Poofter's Froth, Wyoming" ?
  5. Ah....but was she a "Heavy Duty Judy" or more like "Carolina Hardcore Ecstasy" ?
  6. Wow. Sounds like an "Advance Romance".
  7. Seems like someone thinks this "upgrade" is worthwhile. http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=257161
  8. On the distinction between silicone and saline implants (and I hope I don't have this backwards), a former ATF dancer of mine here in Ottawa made the change from (I think) silicone to saline and while I thought she was lovely with her 'first' implants, at certain angles, especially the side view, I often felt that the profile (as opposed to the size) was just a bit 'unnatural' looking whereas when she replaced these with saline 'units', the whole look and feel became, it seemed to me, a lot more natural. Now the lady in question was also quite tall and leggy and while the size of her enhancements was not altogether 'natural-looking' from the dimensional point of view, her stature provided an overall somewhat more 'proportional' look than the same volume might have on a dancer of average height. In recent years, I've not noticed very many really outrageously disproportional implants on dancers here in Ottawa - the trend since the late 90s seems to be for more reasonable 'enhancements'.
  9. This is a bit of a difficult question to weigh in on as I'm not sure exactly what kind of club atmosphere you're looking for. In years past I would have said Barb's for either the evenings or the afternoon or the 'Fax in the evenings, but I'm not sure that the situation is quite so straightforward anymore. Having said that, I'd still be of the opinion that Barb's or maybe the 'Fax would be your best choice for the evening/latenight. For afternoon/daytime, the choice is perhaps a bit more up in the air. For a slower, laid-back atmosphere the obvious choice is the 'Mate where a regular and, I think, somewhat older clientele seem more interested in higher-mileage CR dances and less in stage shows. Barb's on Saturday afternoons will often present a quite calm, laid-back scenario so might appeal if this is what you're after. Not sure about the evening/night atmosphere at the 'Mate. Perhaps others have a strong opinion about the merits of Pigale, but I'm not familiar with the venue. Hope you'll let us know what you decide and when you'll be dancing. I'll certainly drop by to see you if you are attending in the afternoons. (Maybe some dancers will weigh in?)
  10. Believe I've read reports that this Jessica had relocated to BareFax some time ago and might be seen on Saturday afternoons but I'm not sure if she is currently to be found there.
  11. In my (limited) experience, there isn't a lot of consistency in the line-up at the 'Mate in the afternoons, with the exceptions of Candy and (daytime) Ashley who have almost always been there whenever I've dropped by in recent years. Adora and Delicious are fairly regular and Brandy has been encountered quite a bit in recent months. Vegas seems to be highly inconsistent although after 4 may be a bit late for her to be still around - I'd expect her to be gone by 4:30 or so. However, I'm not sure my experience is extensive enough to generalize much.
  12. Another brief visit to 340 on a Saturday afternoon (10/14) and while there were between 10 and 12 patrons during the hour I was there, the overall atmosphere was as quiet as I've seen it for some time. For the first 15 minutes after my arrival, not a single dancer was apparent anywhere in the club. Then a very leggy and lovely lady appeared on stage (Melody? - not sure if I have her name correct), followed by about 6 or so break songs. During this time I noticed a very attractive, fairly small blonde walking to the bar in street clothes. This turned out to be Marissa and she took to the stage after the half-dozen or so retro tunes looking very nice indeed. Don't think I've seen Marissa before, but thought she was a really very pretty and well-built dancer, simutaneously petite and yet quite curvy and busty for her overall dimension. By the time Marissa finished her stage dance, the other dancer was chatting at the bar and did so for quite a while before walking over to a table at the west side of the room. Felt a bit bad about not talking to Marissa, but things seemed to be proceeding rather slowly overall on this day. During this visit these were the only two dancers observed, although I think a third lady arrived just before Marissa went on stage - didn't stay long enough to see her emerge from the dressing room. No one entered or exited the CR during the hour I was in, something that I don't think I've ever experienced at Barb's, even on the quietest Saturday or Monday afternoon.
  13. Strikes me that it is a bit difficult to entirely ignore the issue of "size" as far as "the relevancy of implants for esthetic purpose" is concerned. While not all cosmetic instances of breast enhacement are motivated by "size" (some may just want to add some firmness, so to speak) I'd guess that a significant majority of these cosmetic procedures end up increasing breast size noticeably. This is just my impression though and not based on any statistical evidence. In my limited number of observations, it seems that saline (as opposed to silicone) implants tend to give the most 'natural' feel and look, even if the relative proportion to other aspects of the lady's physique may not appear altogether natural. An ATF (former) dancer at one of our local (Ottawa) clubs had her silicone (I believe) implants replaced with saline ones and, to my mind, the improvement was significant and worthwhile. Overall, I thought her enhancements were staggeringly attractive, but would appeal largely to those who prefer a bustier look. And for those ladies going for quite large implants, I think it helps to have a bit of height in order to keep things proportional if not entirely natural-looking. Having said that, I suppose there will always be those who enjoy a very exaggerated look in this regard.
  14. Not sure just how "many years" it has been since you last attended but unless it has been a really very long time I'd be surprised if the CR layout/camera surveillance situation is much different from what you have experienced in the past. Unless the CR is extremely busy, there is usually enough room for a dancer to choose a booth that is not uncomfortably close to any other occupied booth. The cameras? Well, they are a somewhat contentious and much-discussed aspect of the CR at 340. Of course the CR booth walls were lowered slightly quite a few years ago to conform with some bylaw changes and many patrons may have been unaware of the cameras over the years - I'm not at all sure when they were first installed. I'm guessing that one would have to go back quite some number of years to see significant differences in the CR at Barb's - at least that would be my view.
  15. While my experience with Adora is fairly limited, I have found her CR demeanour to be quite consistent. She is rather liberal and "accomodating" in certain ways and yet surprisingly (at least to my mind) not so regarding one particular activity, this latter being both a fairly common accomodation at the 'Mate and something that is often allowed by many dancers who will not countenance the activities in which Adora seems to engage routinely. Having briefly discussed this with others who have 'Adora-experience', I'm pretty sure that this is not something limited to my own experience. However, there is always the possibility that I'm jumping to an unwarranted conclusion based on a small number of CR encounters with her.
  16. Yes, it is a bit disappointing to be unable to connect with a fave when they are very busy or when one is not even sure they're in. Re Vegas' blondeness (or lack thereof), the last time I saw her at the 'Mate she was really only 'half blonde' and sporting dark hair from the roots to about halfway to the ends (or was it the other way round? - might have been). Perhaps she's gone for a completely dark-haired look now. Delicious, on the other hand, was always dark-haired when I saw her until that same day when I saw 'dip-dyed' Vegas and Delicious had gone blonde. I believe there may be another heavily tatted dark-haired dancer there but I recall her as being somewhat taller than Vegas and with a different look.
  17. Dropped by Barb's very briefly on Saturday (9/9) afternoon. Really quiet at first but a number of patrons arrived during my short stay. Bridgette and Adrianna were observed on the floor and emerging from the CR. Harley was in too. Saw Kitty, Adrianna and Tasha onstage. Noticed a few other dancers looking like they were just getting started for the day. In general, seemed like a fairly typical Saturday afternoon at Barb's.
  18. This certainly has developed into an interesting discussion and it's good to hear from a number of participants with differing views on this. For a while (many years ago) I did feel somewhat uncomfortable directly approaching a dancer in a club and preferred the 'eye contact' approach to attempt to indicate interest in her joining me at the table. This tended to work out fairly well on most occasions until I became interested in connecting with a very popular dancer who became an absolute ATF. Afternoon upon afternoon, my typical strategies for garnering her attention bore no fruit. Finally, one day another dancer asked me if I was "waiting for someone" and when I replied that I was hoping to connect with that someone, this dancer offered to tell the popular lady that I was hoping to meet her. Apparently she did so (in the dressing room) and the very busy, popular lady emerged from the back and joined me at table. It was certainly a very kind and helpful gesture on the part of that other dancer as she gained no advantage and the lady whose attentions were being pursued seemed to be quite busy on this (and many prior) occasions. At Barb's, I find that in general the 'eye contact' approach continues to work well and I've rarely found myself taking the 'direct approach' at 340. I certainly understand the dancer's view that it's important to circulate and chat with patrons and most will not find this to be a problem until the tone becomes nagging or insistent. My first post in this thread was merely to suggest that my observation at a particular club (the 'Mate) was that at least some of the afternoon regulars do not seem particularly inclined to 'circulate' much and when the 'eye contact' strategy fails, the 'direct approach' seems to be welcomed by the dancers.
  19. I think that taking a politely direct approach should never result in one "looking like a jerk", so long as the dancer being approached isn't engaged in other activity i.e. she appears to be available to be approached, so to speak. Of all the times in all the clubs when I've taken a (politely) direct approach to a dancer, I've never been made to feel that my behaviour was inappropriate in any way. Once, in the distant past, I spoke to a dancer who was on her way to see someone at his table (probably approached her coming out of the dressing room after her stage appearance) and I recall her being a bit brusque as she told me she was busy at the moment, but these things happen. Have a vague recollection that she sought me out later in the evening and very politely asked if I'd still like to see her. Apparently there are those patrons who do not like to approach dancers standing at the bar or elsewhere in the club, but I certainly hope these gentleman would not consider those of us who sometimes do as "looking like a jerk". But maybe they do.
  20. Not the least bit surprised to read that some are a bit taken aback by the lack of 'forwardness' exhibited by many of the dancers at the 'Mate. On any number of occasions I've had the feeling that this venue combines the atmosphere of an SC and a neighbourhood bar. For those patrons who dislike constant approaches by dancers asking for CR trips, this can be a welcome change from what is often experienced elsewhere. Typically (at Barb's, say) I prefer to catch the attention of a dancer and have her approach my table after giving an indication that her attentions are sought. At the 'Mate, though, the very casual, 'laid-back' atmosphere (especially in the afternoons, but I've noticed this mood, to a lesser extent, at night in the past) can mean that it really is up to the patron to be a bit more forthright than he may be accustomed to being in order to talk to his 'targeted' dancer. This is not to say that I've never been approached at the table by 'Mate dancers - this has certainly occurred. But I have noticed that some of the afternoon 'regulars' are not especially forthcoming and seem to eschew table-hopping, preferring to situate themselves on a stool at the bar, near the CR entrance or by the DJ booth. Shyer patrons may just have to learn to approach the dancer of choice in these circumstances. On my last visit, the dancer I was hoping to speak with was chatting with colleagues at the bar in street clothes, so I was a bit hesistant to approach. When I did get the chance to speak to her, she told me I should have just spoken to her earlier and been more direct. In the past, I've tended to be far more direct in walking up to dancers at the 'Mate than I've been (or needed to be) elsewhere. This is only my sense of things at the 'Mate, but I suspect patrons really should (and may have to) be less hesitant to use the direct approach than they may be used to at other local establishments. Having said all this, there's certainly nothing wrong with taking a direct (but polite) approach anywhere but, as indicated in a post above, some patrons may prefer not to approach dancers directly.
  21. Well that's fair enough I guess, WtS. If the dancer is "hopping tables" and not really intent on chatting with a particular someone, I can see how it's a somewhat different scenario. Personally, I'd still be inclined to wait until the dancer is not attempting to engage with another patron.
  22. How has this worked out for you, WtS? While we all have to decide on our own patterns of behaviour as far as SC etiquette is concerned, I'd tend to be somewhat hesitant to approach (interrupt?) a patron/dancer while the two of them were chatting. I'll typically wait until she leaves his table or walks away from him (if they're standing) and then approach. Of course, if they retire to the CR, one can try to "grab" her attention when she emerges. While I'm willing to admit that there were times when I was getting a bit impatient and wishing I could get a particular dancer to drift away from a seemingly endless chat session, I'm not sure either the patron or the dancer would be overly pleased to be approached by another patron while in conversation. But that's just my attitude.
  23. Vegas is a dancer who might be described as being of average height, usually blondish (the last time I saw her she had a kind of half-blonde, dip-dyed look happening), quite pretty (I think), usually tanned and fairly heavily inked. She is quite curvy with a very round behind, great legs (to my mind) and a nice, full, enhanced rack. Vegas is certainly not everyone's 'type', but if one is attracted to well-built blondes, she can be quite noticeable in the 'Mate, at least in my view. Hope I've provided a mostly accurate depiction and have done justice to her.
  24. Indeed! Just wish Vegas was around at the 'Mate more often or had a better idea of when she's likely to be there. Whenever I see her there I always ask what her upcoming schedule is likely going to be, but she can never say beyond the following few days. Always interested to hear about Vegas sightings.
  25. I always assumed dancers drenched themselves in perfume so that it would be the only aroma they had to contend with in the CR. Just a guess.
