My thoughts on non reviewed SP's

Recommended Posts

I do have to wonder since I have signed up to this community how important a review is.. I've read the other thread about non reviewed SP's and made a choice while I advertised on CL, to ask my clients to not post a review when they offered. The reason I have not is to maintain my discretion. All it takes is for someone to mistakenly post a little too much info, and before you know it, your identity may be on the line. I've seen a few members on here. ; )

I only send a photo after an initial chat. I have had reviews on here under a different name before I became independent and have remained very low profile since. Perhaps it's time to change that and finally post some pics as well. However, I am nervous. I'm just so used to chatting first and book with my correspondence and taking the time to get to know someone a little before they see me. My regulars have appreciated this kind of introduction and I have developed great friendships as well with my approach. I am one of the ladies with few reviews, but pays attention to the details of getting to know someone without the search....

All thoughts and comments are appreciated. Thank you.

I ask only to be reviewed on CERB. I do not allow reviews on the other -ERB board, even though I have only received good reviews. Good reviews solicit business, and CERB is one of the only sites where I'm comfortable soliciting business.

That being said, why not allow review but ask them to send it to you before posting, or keep a close eye on your reviews, and email mod if there is too much detail posted. I'm 100% positive the mod would remove any information that could threaten your anonymity.

This is always an interesting debate. I personally want some sense of what to expect and that is best to find out from what has been posted, so I prefer the reviews. This often helps to tell the difference between a real GFE experience, rather than one that is like a GFE. To me GFE includes some passion along with the experience, and I find some offer a bit less, but still call it GFE. I guess being a bit shy, makes it a bit more difficult to discuss fully and therefore I like to been able to get some independent information beforehand.

Once and awhile I may venture into the unpredictable, but prefer the more predictable route.

To answer OP's question, to me personally recommendations are very important. In some cases I toftt and go where no man has gone before (calling for unknown SPs), and that is because I love variety but personally if I see a lady around for a while without a recommendation, I will not make that call.

Cerb is great for reviews (in fact the use of word review is incorrect as they are none. They are recommendations as the board name stands for Canadian Escort Recommendation Board). Clients concentrate on positive aspects of the encounter and unlike the other -ERB board hurtful reviews are NOT allowed which in my view is a very good thing. I always hated to see ladies being bashed on the other -ERB board and even members were being bashed, attacked and viciously lied about by a few hateful members or agencies on that board. Something that will NEVER happen here on cerb. So, my question to OP, why not to have reviews. As Megan suggested you can limit your reviews to cerb. I decided to limit myself to cerb too last year.

On another note, whenever I give a recommendation, I ask the lady to review it and let me know if everything said or written is okay with her (my policy for the past 12 months) if the lady is on cerb (if not I encourage her to join cerb) within 48 hours of posting. I ENCOURAGE ALL MEMBERS TO ADOPT THIS POLICY in case something revealed that should not have been or a piece written not to lady's liking.

I think recommandation is good for our clients ... it's good to they know what they might expect in general with us ... everyone is different of course and the good thing is everyone has also different taste and expectations ... so in my opinion, if the girl are true with herself when she advertise ... well, she shouldn't be worryed about being reviewed ... as long as the man is respectful and keep the spicy details private ... As I said, it's a good thing for them ...as much as for us ... because more they know what they can expect as kind of encounter ... more they can choose exactly the right woman to fit with their desires ... and of course if the woman fit with his desire ... it must be a good start for having a really great moment with a good connection.

My 2 cents ... ;-)

Thanks guys. Megan you have given me great advice and much appreciated. I still get to screen this way and moderate my reviews. Thanks so much....

Additional Comments:

Thank you for great advice. Much appreciated and reviews are good. I had one review fall in here once, and somebody asked who I was. Cerb community is definitely a stand alone and I have a good feeling about the people on here, so will slowly dip my toes in the water...

I think you're right to be concerned, but I don't think you have to go as far as not allowing recommendations on CERB. I recall an SP telling me that a client wrote a wonderful review of her and even added:

"And I got to meet her dog named ****".

She was very concerned that the unusual name of her dog would be recognized by her family and friends who don't know that she works. It was removed from the site. So yes, personal details could be shared by well-intentioned clients, but just monitor them carefully and ask mod to remove any personal details that may appear.

Also, when a client asks to write a review, you could tell him: "Sure, I love getting reviews on CERB. Would it be possible for me to review it before posting it.." You could also instruct them as to what you like in reviews and what you don't like. If you don't like explicit details, tell them! It will be well-received by any gentleman.

Hope this helps.

I still have to figure out how to reply to you all personally...

Click on the "Private Message" button at the bottom of the member's post, or click on the member's name and select "Send a PM" from the drop-down menu that appears.

I've said this before and will say this again. All a review is is a hobbiest's opinion on his encounter with a certain sp at a certain time

When 2 or more humans interact, chemistry comes into play. Not everyone gets along with everyone. A bad time with an sp doesn't necessarily mean the sp was bad. Maybe the hobbiest was bad (poor hygiene, unreasonable expectations, crossing lines) or the lady and man just didn't click.

I had one encounter with a lady, no chemistry. Should I write a bad review. No, I'm mature enough to realize it was chemistry, and why should I do something that could affect her livelihood. Likewise she is (I hope) just as mature and not writing bad things about me. Just two people who had no chemistry.

Also, another sp I have seen (twice) was great! But she prefers to not be reviewed, and I have to, and will respect her wishes. No review from me about her doesn't mean she was a poor sp, actually she was one of the best.

Keep in mind 2 things about reviews when they are read. First is ymmv, and second, they are subjective, not objective

Some more ramblings

I still adhere to a personal DNRD, which means "do not reveal details". Guests are more than accomodating and will respect your wishes. I believe what happens behind closed doors between two consenting adults should stay there...

Erin, I have posted a couple reviews. Each time it was because I had a positive experience and thought my comments might assist the lady. In every case I have also first asked if the lady wanted this and provided her with my comments to provide her input on before posting. I hope these actions underly a fundamental behaviour between 2 people - respect!

This is an interesting topic, reviews or recommendations can be both productive and counter productive to a provider. They do operate as forms of advertisement for sure, and while a provider can benefit from a recommendation from an established poster, just because they have no reviews on other boards or recommendations does not mean that they aren't worthy of a visit.

I know for fact that many of my reccos have been the launching point for many hobbiests to venture for the first time in this game or to visit a new lady for the first time. I respect that my tenure and contributions to this board represent a certain standard so that when I recommend a provider gentlemen clients know that they can expect a certain level of service, appearance and overall attitude when visiting a lady whom I've endorsed.

But I don't abuse that stature, I never present myself as CK unless the connection is made through CERB which I tend to avoid. I fear that a recco seeking provider may provide me with a different level of service knowing that an endorsement from me is worthwhile. And there are sp's who've offered discounts, freebies and other incentives for recommendations. I can say with a clear conscience that I've never accepted or been tempted by such offers.

Instead I prefer to meet anonymously with no pretense just a client looking to meet. At the completion of successful session where we've clicked I will usually ask if the lady minds if I review or recommend them and will usually at that time make my name known.

I'm not trying to be all full of myself here, frankly I don't visit as many new providers as often as I used too, so the recoos aren't as regular. I have my regulars that I visit with often and if I were to account for every encounter that would become somewhat repetitive and boring.

I will often recommend providers whom I've not met, but know that their reputation precedes them. I can confidently recommend many of the established providers here from cerb to inquiring newbies, as these providers have proven them selves to be consistent quality providers and always generate positive feedback and response. While their service, body type, age or other factors may not always be to my personal preference I respect that we all have different and varying tastes and know that what rocks my boat may not rock yours and vice versa!

But reccos do play an important part in an sp's promotion, marketing and brand recognition. It's just important for clients to respect the sp's privacy and discretion where details are involved.

I agree with Cowboy Kenny and what is mentioned above.

On the SP side, because of other obligations, I have been much more quiet in 2010 plus the fact that 2009 was a shitty year for me, I am less active on the hobbying side.

But coming back to the recommendations, I take them with a grain of salt. Let me explain.

You look at the recommendation section on CERB and there are many, many, many women that have recommendations.

I look at that and I tell myself: they're all good!

I am 'experienced' but a newbie that gets there, he's all confused and there is so much to read, he will get discouraged within an hour!

And there are times for the ladies that will not be as good as other times, for whatever reason. So, a hobbiest might visit a lady that is well reviewed and that time, the service was sub-par; it happens.

And there is always the fact that satisfaction is subjective based on each individual so, a great service for one might come as OK for another.

It is a good tool for reference but it is not perfect.

Plus the fact that there is no filtering of recommendations so many are outdated, some ladies have retired, etc...

Just looking at the threads a lady posts gives a very good impression of their personality, their way of thinking, etc...

CERB is my favourite site. I have found so many amazing people on this site and I will be forever grateful for them. The problem? I am in Alberta and because 95% (or so it seems to me) is from Ottawa, I haven't had the opportunity to meet my friends....yet. If you were to look for a review/reco on me you won't find one. Does this mean I'm not worth the call or time? NO. I choose to get to know the people I agree to meet and therefore they already have a good idea as to what to expect.

The best way to try to forsee what a session with an SP will be like is to talk to her! Ask questions, get to know her. Like others have already said...just because one person had an amazing time with a girl, does not guarantee your time with her will be the same.

If you look for a SP on reviews/reco's alone, then you may be missing out on someone who is the best person for you.

IMHO...

My comments were of course about Ottawa SPs since this thread was posted in Ottawa section, I failed to clarify this point, my apology. It is quite understandable that SPs in small cerb communities may not have the chance to receive recommendations as their client based is very limited. I also think that less than 70% of hobbyists are from Ottawa and I expect that with recent developments it may soon change as with CL shut down, many SPs from all over Canada (and with them many hobbyists from all over Canada) will soon join the board in no time.

I give recommendations to about half of the ladies that I see (I used to choose a large number of ladies from CL, before its closure last month) and those half that I do not recommend usually don't get recommendations from other members either. I usually received a number of PMs for any given recommendation from members asking for more details (not sure what percent of those inquiries actually results in action ), so yes recommendations definitely help the business for the lady.

Recommendations also show the services provided and if I am looking for kissing or DFK and that is listed in the reco (the list in the top portion of every recommendation), though it can be ymmv, but it could mean there is a good chance that DFK may be on the menu (or at least it is not lady's restriction for all). On the other end if I wish to avoid someone who provides certain services, those are listed in the recommendations too. So, it helps in more ways than one and the help is mutual for the hobbyist as well as the SP. As for the OP's question, I suggest cerb-limited recommendation policy with the right to ask for edit within 48 hours of posting. My 2 cents.

I completely agree with Alexiss.

I've been in this business for several years and have a steady client base, but have never had a review here at CERB. Indeed, there are only a handful of Vancouver review. Nonetheless, this is still the best board, anywhere, with some of the greatest people!

Erin --

After having a similar set of encounters, and series of discussions, with another lady on this board under facts similar to yours, I wouldn't change a thing as to what you are doing. You could put a couple photos up in an album or offer a little more information about yourself just on your personal page on cerb. for advertising, and if you are most comfortable with the discussion ahead of time, stick with that as well! The guys willing to go through that effort to get to know you are probably the guys you want as clients. You should always feel in complete control of the process you use to vet your potential clients.

I have to say something about CK's comment concerning not using his cerb handle when first meeting ladies. That makes sense for Cowboy Kenny and a few other cerb superstars, but for me, and I suspect a lot of other cowpokes here on cerb., I try to use my handle in my introduction as it is something of a reference that the ladies can rely upon to check out my other postings to increase their comfort level. I also share Secret Admirer's approach to reviews, always allowing the lady to OK the review and the contents. I would hope that any member here on cerb that tries to trade their name and a promise of a positive review in exchange for "favors" from a lady should be reported to the mods.

I just cant figure out how CK stays anonymous when he always shows up on his horse.

I am known as a reputable SP and am rarely reviewed now. I have met a lot of guys through cerb and other places and 90% of them do not review. I don't know why because I have a long list of regulars and figure they just don't want to write them. I'm not bothered by it because I don't think reviews are the be all end all to an escort's success. I don't feel that I'm worth anymore or less because of the number of reviews I have.

When I first started escorting I had too many reviews to the point where I felt I was put on a pedestal and that I had to live up to a certain image, was threatened by other women in the business, had guys bothering me online and many questioned the authenticity of those reviews. It was maddening.

At times I feel I have this uncanny ability to fly under the radar mostly because of my unassuming demeanor and quiet nature. I don't promote myself as much as I think I should but I also think a lot of clients I see follow cues related to my personal characteristics. At the end of the day, I'm not complaining and feel I don't have to justify anything to anyone where recos/reviews are concerned.

Having said all of that, I don't discourage reviews or recommendations and always keep the lines of communication open between potential clients and current clients whether it is updating photo albums, PMs or profile comments.

Just a reminder that in order to be advertise on CERB, you must be willing to be recommended - which is why the ladies listed on the DNR (do not recommend) list are not members.

Bottom line if you're an SP and a member of CERB, you can't have an official policy about not being recommended on CERB.

Just reading this thread and LMAO, But thanks CK for the comment, but hardly pal a superstar...lol, naw just a man that enjoys all ladies ( I'm now over that 50 year age mark who is enjoying his sexuality).

As to seeing ladies, they will know it is me,firstly by pm through here or email, then I'm not shy about giving them my number-discretion goes a long way.

It is all about respect back to each other, as far recommendations goes, I have slowed down on posting because of seeing the same lady or ladies and if I was to continue to post rec's it just would not be received that well through others.

I have been known to be forgetful of not posting, but that is my fault, and I try to get in after(sometimes like sex..LOL).

In all my time hobbying I have never asked OR received for the favor,(extra time, reduced rate) for a "Recommendation".

It is all about respect both ways for the lady and of course yourself, after all the ladies do talk to each other, and I always want to be in their good books and have them all know I'm a gentleman. ;)

Thanks all. I have taken many things into consideration, and am starting to add to my profile with a few pics and will welcome reviews as well with my moderation. I have really enjoyed the community and am willing to do my part. However, I personally prospered from my detailed advertising, talking with clients beforehand, to get to know someone a little before a meet. My etiquette rewarded me with regular client relations and developed a few good friendships as well. It was a great experience. I'm very personable and that will be my goal on here as well. I'm real, genuine and love what I do. That was my success on CL and looking forward to continuing that on here as well.

Cheers!

When I first started there was no cerb, heck there was no internet so sites like this is a godsend. Back in the day, it was relying on classified ads/yellow pages and hoping the girl that was described over the phone was the one who actually showed up. Needless to say, I've had many disappointing encounters. Now, I can research, look at reviews/pics and make a decision that I'm much more comfortable with. It doesn't always guarantee a good time, but I've had much better luck in the last few years. I've found one sp who I've been seeing almost exclusively over the last 5 years thanks these sites.
