Oh, come on, Old Dog. Is that hard

For such a clearly awesome bard?

This really is a situation

To enhance your reputation.

 

I must confess, I find it odd

To hear from our beloved Mod

That there are those that will not vote

And who are just content to note

 

Results from others at their task

But seriously, I have to ask -

Just what kind of Devil's minion

Cannot form their own opinion?

 

Finally, there is good news:

Should you be lacking for a muse

I'm sure the ladies here on CERB

Will help you with your latest blurb.

Dear Phaedrus is a kindred bard,

And CERB, his artist's palette,

He seeks solutions, not so hard,

To deal with next month's ballot.

 

The ladies, all deserving praise,

Should never have to run,

Against a phantom in the haze,

We know her now as Nun.

 

So why not let the pollsters see,

The outcome of democracy,

Without the waste of vote.

 

Solutions? We have found just one,

It's funny. I never cared for poetry in school. But this stuff I love reading!

 

That's probably because the poetry you read in school was written by people who took themselves way too seriously. I'm sure Old Dog and I have many faults, but we can't be accused of that one!

FYI... The none of the above is on the vote because if you do not wish to vote for ANY of the nominees but want to monitor who is winning the poll by voting for none of the above it lets you see the results. Without this we may get BAD votes of people just randomly choosing someone so that they can see the results.

 

Non-voters could just click on the "View Poll Results" link, of course.

 

"None of the above" seems to carry a taint of negativity. If folks don't care enough to vote for anyone in particular, then sure - provide an opt-out. Maybe let them vote "I have no preference", or for "all of the above". To my ear, that might help non-votes to sound a bit more positive.
