OK here goes. I would consider myself Atheist. However in a way, I understand the need or desire for people to believe in something spiritually (What ever that may be for them). However, I believe in the fundamental value of do onto others as you would do onto you. You can be a moral person and not be religious I have no issue with religion or people who wish to worship a god. Again however, I have always said that some of the most intolerant people I have met are religious people. They interpret the bible to justify their beliefs and values and belittle those who oppose them. Understand this, the bible, the new testament and any other book of worship, were all written by man. (Sorry ladies, maybe women had a hand in it but considering it was 2 or 3 thousand years ago, I doubt it) Over the centuries, different people interpreted these books differently. Again, it is just humans interpreting the words of other humans. There are a lot of good things in any of these books. it's not hard to take a look at a cruel world and say, wouldn't it be better if we didn't do this and did do that. Morality is a personal choice and is solely based on how you live your life and how you treat others. My religion is the Religion of Humanity Sex for money (That doesn't include a pimp stealing money) is a business. Supply and Demand, Desire and Fulfillment. If all parties are willing and respectful than morally there is nothing wrong.

I think I'm starting to understand how things like anorexia, plastic surgery obsessions, excessive tanning, extreme body building, etc. come about. I've tended to be a little bigger most of my life. I'm tall so I get away with it but I've tended to carry a bit more weight than perhaps would be considered optimal. This year I decided to exercise a bit more and eat a bit less and have lost around 20 pounds from my 'typical' weight. At first, I found myself admiring my flat stomach and feeling very good about how loose my pants were and such but it seems that over time you start to adjust to your new 'baseline'. You look at yourself and still see things. A bit of a love-handle or whatever. You weigh yourself every day and see that you're still the same weight but when you look in the mirror, instead of liking what you see, you again become critical. You want to work out more, eat less, get fitter, more toned, etc. In theory I haven't changed over the last couple months, at least as far as the scale is concerned. But what I see in the mirror has changed. So I imagine this must be what it's like for people who have unhealthy obsessions with their appearance. No matter how much you do, you're always going to find new things to be unhappy with, things that you would like to change or improve. Kind of like those that were posted here before. We're always own own worst critics. I know it's just my mind playing tricks on me but it's a powerful effect. I can see how some people would fall under its spell. I know what it's doing though, this little nagging voice in my head, so I'm going to try to just keep eating well and exercising normally and not let it take hold of me. Remember people. Be comfortable in your own skin. You're probably more beautiful than you think you are.

I know you said people who are offended by religion not to continue reading. I am not offended by religion as someone who spent many years sitting in a church, even taking part in a worship band at the church. But the question of does this hobby conflict with religion is a simple answer. Yes. If a person is taking part in a hobby where intimate acts are the main focus it is a whole hearted yes it conflicts with religion (I say religion knowing there are thousands of religions out there but for this this topic I figure we are talking Christianity, Judaism or Islam.) If you are going to follow a religion and say yes to some rules and no to others you are not following that religion. Yes they have good moral rules like love thy neighbour, or don't kill but that is (in my opinion) a way that most people knew the moment we could walk upright. To say yes I am a Christian and then go and get hammered every other night is not "Christ-Like" but hypocritical. The same can be said about having a sexual relationship outside of marriage or before marriage. As I have been told many times a sin is a sin. I am not saying what we do is wrong. Not at all. Just that if one is worried about their religion getting mixed up in this hobby it's OK, (don't want to come off as an ass) you are not really following your religion. I am sorry if I offended anyone with my last statement.

I have to agree with Eric on this. Anyone can skew their religion to say it is ok to do, to get what they want. I don't necessarily agree with that, but so be it...to each their own. I grew up going to church every week and stopped pretty much when i started going to Uni, since i was making my own decisions by then. But i went for the sake of my Dad and i lived under his roof, so i didn't really have a choice. But he wasn't strict about anything at home, just you had to go to church. I never believed in having to go to church to be with GOD, you can do that anywhere, if he's listening to everyone?! In the case of Christians, not sure where in the bible they mention going to see a prostitute is a bad thing but it def objects to a prostitute. There is a lot of media attention being paid to this topic right now, leading up to the Supreme Court hearing on June 14. Just the other night, on Tuesday, CBC Radio's Ideas did a program about Madelaine Blair, a prostitute and brothel owner in Western Canada at the turn of the 20th century. Drawing from Madelaine Blair's memoir, it was a very good overview, among other things, of the differences between the laws and attitudes about prostitution in Canada compared to the US. It also included an overview of the SCC hearing in June. As for the issue of coercion, that's a bit more complicated, I think. Speaking for myself, I was not coerced into adopting this profession in that no one pressured me into it or attempted to profit from what I do. It was my own decision to become a prostitute. Nevertheless, I made that choice because I was in fairly dire financial circumstances and had no other means to address them. Some might say that's coercion, though I don't. I think of myself as a survivor, above all; I'm someone who was and is determined to do the best I can whenever I can. I've never felt like a victim in this business. But I know women who have felt manipulated at times and who have managed to embrace this profession whole-heartedly and to do very well in it.

Not sure I have gone back to religion Conquistador but the recent thread "message from Jen" made me thinking in which her son predicted the deaths of himself and his father and asked his mother to stop working or face hell just before he died in a tragic car accident...... In addition there are three issues to the hobby. The legal, moral and safety issues. As for Legal aspects the outcall hobbying which I do is legal. As for Safety I take part in nothing bare so I keep the first two aspects in check but still remains the moral issue unresolved as the reason for my recent tendency to go for dancers and MAs. All religions have forbidden adultery and exploitation. As for adultery I don't see knowingly anyone who is married or in relationships and I am single or what remains is exploitation issue. I never disrespect or force any service and I screen out as much as I could to screen out those I suspect being forced or pimped but we all know there are many working in this industry who are there against their will or do not like to be there and for the need of money or pimped. (this is not specific to any provider or cerb which likely represents less than 10% of total providers in industry but cerb does not have crystal ball either to screen out). Unless I have a crystal ball or supernatural powers I won't be able to screen them all out. So this issue remains unresolved and if there is really a God and heaven and hell (and I am not sure if there are) then I always joke to my family that a very hot place is reserved for me for what I do when I die!!!. I don't have the energy to get into a big long discussion on religion and the Bible; however I would just like to throw this out there. Wasn't Mary Magdalene a prostitute who was Jesus' best friend and possibly eventually his wife? Good enough for me. :)

It's a tough one. What's his motivation? By having a paid date, is he attempting to fulfill his own desires OR he is trying to convince you what a wonderful lover he is or could be? If it's the former, then is he, by this act, admitting defeat and submitting to a paid relationship in lieu of the relationship he desires? If it's the latter, then is he, by this act, attempting to gain your affection by proving that he would go to any limit to achieve it? In either case, his attempts would be a means to subvert the barriers that you have in place to protect yourself from deluding reality from fantasy. If you submit to his patronage, then you are feeding not only his physical desires, but also his unstated ulterior motivation. In short... you have no idea why he is booking you, but by asking the question whether you should, you already know the answer in your heart. The right decision is one that protects yourself first, and him second.

No need for abstract ethics. But... no. A thousand times NO. First off, people may be dead; the market isn't going to help them. But even if nobody gets sick, it was innately unethical because each and every time, the owner risked his customers' health dishonestly. That the risk wasn't realized doesn't make it alright. (And if you're not sure about that... let's say I invite you over to my house but, while you're busy studying my art collection, I secretly take out a gun and point it at you. I also roll a die. I promise myself that if I roll a 6, I'll shoot you. I roll the dice ten times and never get a 6. I put the gun and die away. Were my actions ethical because you're still alive?) Businesses, and markets, promote one single, solitary driving imperative: effective behaviour. "Does it make a profit? Then it's okay!" That's not anywhere remotely the same thing as ethical behaviour, unless by coincidence. The market is neither an angel, nor a devil: it's absolutely a-moral. The problem is, lots and lots of people still inexplicably confuse markets and business with angels. If the consumer is informed up front that professionals may respond to ads, then everything is cool. Noboody is lying. But if the site purports otherwise, it's not; people have resorted to outright lies to bait their hook. The site has rules, and everyone should obey them. Even if the consumer knows "professionals may be here trying to scam you", that doesn't make the deceivers' behaviour ethical; they're a problem people must actively avoid, and make the whole site worse for everyone. Similarly, just because I "should" know ahead of time that being in some parts of the city at the wrong time means I might get mugged, that doesn't make the muggers ethical. I don't know where you are looking, whether or not you looked past the first page, or what you consider to be "older" recommendations, but Katrine Cannon has two recommendations just within the last week, and nearly 10+ within the last three months (not to mention over 100+ on top of that!). Exotic Barbie also has several recommendations, including a couple just within the past month. You're not marrying her, or spending the rest of your life with her. Most CERB ladies will show you some fun and a good time. If the first one isn't as awesome as you hoped, try someone else. Don't make it more difficult than it has to be. ;) You may also have more luck with questions regarding providers in Ottawa, if you post and browse the Ottawa section.
