I've posted this poem a couple of times in posts before, it means a lot and the words say it all..... I was trotting into the grocery store recently and a gentleman was on his way out. I can't remember what was on my mind but it had me smiling...so when he looked at me and I gave him the biggest, warmest smile. He appreciated it so much he actually said to me "well that's a wonderful smile! so infectious!" and he smiled just as brightly as he walked past me and towards his car. It's guaranteed he passed it on to someone he encountered afterwards. It's more contagious than the common cold.... smile and the world smiles with you :D

I've always loved the beauty of a smile. Whether its Christmas morning and people are open presents and the smile is from ear to ear, or perhaps its a baby smile or even a total stranger smiling. I've been told I have a very nice smile, as much as I enjoy the compliment I never really believed it, until the other day I had an epiphany. I was lying beside a beautiful lady and she was smiling. I was in complete awww at her smile, it was so beautiful and peaceful. I was put into a state of ease and warmth. I never felt so relaxed from such a simple thing. Then it hit me, I've never seen an "ugly" smile so those compliments must be sincere and even if they weren't who cares a smile to me will always remain beautiful. I can't be the only one who love a smile so remember to smile once in a while its free. You got nothing to lose. I know I sure will.

In case you hadn't heard, we lost an incredible talent in Phillip Seymour Hoffman today, who was found dead this morning in his New York apartment as a result of an apparent overdose. There aren't words to do his body of work justice, so I thought I'd invite movie fans (because if you were a movie fan, you were a Hoffman fan) to share some of your favourite roles or scenes. This guy was one of those guys who seemed indestructible. He was out shovelling snow and dropped dead. The doctor at emergency said he was probably dead before he hit the ground...so maybe not a bad way to go. He looked like he was in great shape but he ate crap and loved his beer. He didn't smoke, but he almost never exercised. Every day at work he had a greasy breakfast, donuts, muffins, gallons of coffee. He didn't listen to anything his doctor said about his diet. In fact, he constantly badgered people he considered "fat". So there are two lessons here: 1: You aren't fit just because you look thin. What the inside of your heart looks like is more important. Get a treadmill stress test! Everyone should have one in their forties. Your doctor can prescribe one and it only takes a couple of hours. 2: Don't eat garbage. 3: Don't leave a mess behind. My buddy's wife is now dealing with insurance and estate matters. He also told her he had a will but his lawyer says he had discussed it but never actually made one up. It is weird that so many guys worry about "safe sex" when they are so careless about other health matters.

got new wheels! well ... I got the same model of vehicle I was driving previously because I really loved it, so it's really not much different ... but it's much nicer and newer and shinier than the other one, and it's all mine... so it's still exciting. Picking it up tomorrow or Tuesday :D woot woot!

I agree with the majority that they are useful and important as a tool to recognize the valuable contributions members make ... I just know that I can never respond to them all, so I just don't participate in them. So here's my happy birthday wish to you all this year and every year.... and my congratulations go to all the members here, for all your posts, forever :)

Don't cloud the issue by buying into the flawed logic and lies of LE and the abolitionists. There were many different ways they could have engaged SPs but they didn't. Did they talk to a group like POWER? Nope. And trust me groups like POWER would not tolerate for one minute human trafficking or abusive pimps. I would wager they would be the one's calling LE if they knew of underage, trafficked or abused women. They didn't go after the younger at risk girls. In Ottawa almost every lady they went after were established, well regarded SPs who all are older than 25 and advertise as such. The way they approached these solo SP's compared to how they went to the spas and agencies says volumes about the intent. They were polite and sent only two officers (I was told one was female) to the spas. They identified themselves gave out business cards etc. Of course the spas have security cameras and there was more than one person working so there were witnesses. For the solo SPs they booked under false pretenses, arranged it so that they could surprise the SP with their "show of force", (4 to 5 male officers). They didn't hand out business cards, they refused to provide names and badge numbers and behaved in a rude and threatening manner. I am surprised they didn't show up in brown shirts ready to hand out black triangles. (look it up) Their behaviour was an infringement of human and civil rights, their attitude was appalling, and now they are lying about or denying some of their worse abuses. And this comment comes from me, who is usually a big supporter of LE knowing they often have a difficult job to do. However I also recognize that there are a number of assholes out their carrying badges and guns, and sullying the reputation of the good cops. It seems they all were assigned to this detail. Don't you find it ironic that the way they try and combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable women is by surprising women who are alone, by showing up with a large number of armed men, who behaved in a bullying manner? Some example they set. They should be ashamed of their tactics rather than trying to justify them in the media.

I've never understood the "thread clutter" argument. I mean, I don't personally get anything out of abc game-type threads, but it takes me half a second to skip over them to the ones I'm more interested in, so what's the harm, especially if there's others who get a good time out of them? I'd think the same would apply to recognition threads. If for some people it builds a sense of a community and makes someone feel better for even a short time, then isn't it worth it? My own vote is to continue as things are, but I suppose if a compromise was needed someone could always make a single recognition thread for all of them. All milestones for all members could be recognized in the one thread, easily followed by those that wish to and likewise easily ignored by any put off by them. As I say, I truly don't see the harm in them as they are, but that's the only alternative approach I can imagine.

There are men who look for those with the cheapest rates and they chose from that group. They don't have any specifications they just want a cheap warm body to accommodate their needs. There are those who look for the prettiest girl in their opinion and then look at her rates and if they can afford her they go from there. Then there are those men that seek out the whole package, they want a connection beyond just a service, they check the rate she charges, no questions asked and books his choice. No matter what or how anyone charges the rates are or should be as individual as we are and without comparison. you and I can and should charge as we please for what we please. It's my business to do so. Don't we all set our own guidelines?You cannot compare girls as none of us are alike, ever the big, enhanced blondes!! We suck, fuck and talk different. We walk different, smell different, feel different, taste different and we all deserve what we charge. No one is going to tell me, and I hope you, how to or what to charge. It's my body, I'll put the value on it and if you don't think I'm worth it, hey, move on, I will and be just fine!! But don't, again, don't, compare me to anyone as I'm as individual as they come and so are you:) Any man that does compare quite honestly is an ...! Well, I'll leave that blank;) Until there are rules set and we all agree to them and we all follow them, everyone is going to charge differently and different amounts. Pick your girl and pay what she asks, for what she asks. If you don't like it, then see someone else, it's just that easy:)

Yup, they are actually just across the street from each other. Both locations started out as competing spas and then they were both independently brought under the ALO family at different times. Consider it no different from the countless Tim Hortons out there, many of which are just across the street from each other too. ;)

My 3 year old son made it all the way down the ski hill on his snowboard without falling once. I was so scared and so proud all at once. He was so proud when all these teenage kids came over by the lift to give him high 5's. He was so small among everyone else. On the way back up on the lift he said, " Dad...a boy said I ripped it up on the hill......did I tear my snowsuit? God I love him so much!

There was even a segment on the Today show this week. Cathy Lee and Hoda were talking about it, and Cathy Lee kept saying "Ladies tend your garden". I thought it was funny.
