Not to take the thread in a different direction but GREAT story ICE4FUN. So many great ladies in this community but is extra special when something like that happens.

Was scrolling through posts and saw the thread on "playmate " and it brought back some great memories. A number of years ago I met a dancer at a strip club here in St John's we had a great night in and out of the champagne room and when the bar closed we went out to eat and played a little. I am a happily married hobbiest ... i love my wife and would do anything for her. And everyone laughs, but then you take it too far and start moaning in your grandma-voice, and the room gets uncomfortably quiet again. Just me? Hm. Anyway. I was a little surprised to find a niche for myself reading Romance and Erotica. I don't know if there's something about my voice that lends itself to dirty book narration, or if it's just because I'm not afraid to say filthy things with conviction, but I audition for books in other genres, and 4 times out of 5, if I'm awarded a contract, it's for a dirty book. And hell, that is fine by me. That's what pseudonyms are for! People are always asking me how I got started doing this and you'd be surprised how many people want to try their hand at it. In case you're one of those people, here are 10 Easy Steps to Getting Paid to Read Smut. 1. Pick a pseudonym. I went with the old Middlename Streetyougrewupon. 2. Make a profile on a site like ACX.com. 3. Get a microphone. My Blue Yeti cost $150 at Guitar Center. 4. Find a place to record. My first studio was under a comforter on the floor of my apartment. 5. Pick some dirty books to audition for. These are located on ACX under Romance or Erotica. 6. Suspend your disbelief. Some of these books are not good. Some of them are cliche or poorly written. This is not your concern. You are here to make money reading dirty books. On the other hand, a lot of them ARE good. One of my favorites for example (Wanna hear what I sound like? Click there!) 7. It was a collection of short erotic stories that were so terrible the author included a recipe for meatballs when he ran out of ideas. But I sexy-read the shit out of it, and last month I received a royalty check for $623.30. Now I don't mean to give the impression that Audible is just giving money away. There are various skill-levels when it comes to dirty-book reading. I humblebrag and mambleyag that I am remarkably good at it. I've got a nice, low voice that easily sounds like a man's or a woman's (important for sexy-reading scenes between male and female characters); I've got suitcases of character voices, an ear for accents and years of experience storytelling and doing solo performance. I've got no problem locking myself in a closet for 2 days in order to finish a 9 hour book. (I'm proud to say that my studio has graduated to a walk-in closet from underneath the comforter in the middle of the floor). I love learning new words and proper pronunciations and playing all the parts, no matter how cheesy or racy or weird the script may be. I won't lie though: it's kind of hard being so happy with my job, but not really being able to share my work with most of my friends and family. I've played clips for my boyfriend and a few close friends, but aside from that, most people get a weird look on their face when I hint at the bisexual paranormal three-way I narrated today. And I can respect that. It's kind of like asking your friends to watch the porno you shot. At the end of the day, I'm having a blast, flexing my favorite muscles, learning new things every day, bringing an author's vision to life and getting paid! Making the effort to explore her website/profile first shows you are serious. - If you wish to ask for a session duration shorter than those she has listed prices for, do so at your own risk. Some SP's may be offended because they frequently state outright that the lowest price is the minimum and shorter sessions are not available. - Make sure you read about any restrictions before asking for prices for those services. As stated previously, it shows you aren't very serious if you don't know what the SP offers. - Never negotiate, or ask for discounts. Most SPs will instantly blacklist you. - Never insult the SP by telling her the price is outrageous, or too high. It's just best to say no thanks and move on. No need to be rude. We all understand that clients are not made of money, so don't be afraid to ask an SP his or her rate just because it may be too high for you. It's more of a newbie mistake on my part. I was ignorant and unexperienced to many of possible threats one may come across as a independent provider. I didn't really consider that I came to become independent when I was ready too. I had several years experience working at winnipeg's upscale massage parlour that wasn't full service. Despite my many ups and downs over those years, I gained what I consider to be priceless experience learning types of clients, and ways to get along and or enjoy all sorts of different men's personalities and company. Without realizing it I gained valuable insight on little things to avoid and heard many experiences in general chit chat with multiple co workers over those years. I even miss my old boss, even though back then I was fired and rehired more times then I would like to admit, he was like a father figure, always giving me heck for not saving for school or a car. I didn't put much thought into darker elements of the industry or that some woman arent as fortunate in their experiences. I lack the competitive nature of many. I also lucked out and am very blessed to have attracted positive clients who were kind enough to share their experiences with other great clients. Having said that I am not ignorant to the fact that their are other woman who have suffered unfair reviews by disgruntled men for all sorts of reasons. Many likely pushed a boundary, and got mad at the result. Several indiv. tried to slander me with fake reviews and stories, and again I lucked out despite completely freaking out on them while waiting for mods to wake up and remove their late night posts. A few were even banned. I have never allowed myself to bullied, shamed or lied about on the other erb site. So many other others haven't been as fortunate. I feel for the providers as I honestly think many may not have deserved as much negative attention as they may receive. Everytime something negative is posted it is potentially a hit to her income, and some guys can't read a mention of a lady, even if it is positive and appears she may gained a better understanding as to what works for her and her clients, without slandering her name. I could of easily had things turn out the same way on several attempts to hurt my reputation as a provider. Most woman join this industry inexperienced and aren't as fortunate avoiding bad clients and or aware these boards to refer to. Here in winnipeg, I truly wish to see less bullying towards the providers. More respect and acceptance for individual restrictions, rates and WAY MORE DISCRETION! It isn't unheard of that we are sent copies of pm's between pooners and I got to tell you, SHARING OUR LOCATIONS AND EVEN AREA PUTS US AT CONSIDERABLE RISK. If you wouldn't want us doing it to you then don't do it to us. I lost my condo and literally everything I had worked for. I look forward to a new adventure in a new city.
