  1. Or the Hush club at Bank and Slater area. (formerly CMJ downtown)
  2. It is the old Casino Cabaret, Tease, Cabaret Canada, Palace of Screams and whatever name it used to have. It can be good, the new owners are great but again their is the spectre of the building owner and his antics that can still cause issues there. It is at the corner of Bank and Rideau Road (not Rideau street) underneath Ottawa Best Hotel. (Whoever named that place had a sarcastic bent.)
  3. Why do we always have people posting inquiries about places that are pretty obviously legitimate massage places? Google is your friend and if you use it to find Sunny Joy Foot Massage on March road you will find a website where they list a bunch of their services including RMT massage, reflexology, hot stone and other services. No where will you find the "code words" that there may be an HE offered. This is not the massage you are looking for. If you are coming to Ottawa looking for that, then there are a wide variety of spas that do offer those services and they have multiple reviews on this and other boards. Choose one of those and avoid disappointment, or "roll the dice" spend some of your money and find out first hand. There are too many people looking for "unicorns" where they walk into a place and get a relatively inexpensive massage from a drop dead gorgeous MA who does everything they want. Those places don't exist and even if they did once the word got out they would soon cease what they are doing and change their business model.
  4. Ella (also Ella Jane) may have retired. Her twitter feed from over 6 months ago says she won't be around much. She was also part of OIC, but she is off their site now as well. You could try and DM her on Twitter.
  5. I understand from someone who has been in contact with her that she is not dancing anywhere right now, but that she anticipates Casino opening again and she would return. But again all speculation although she may know the owner better. When I drove by there last week there were dumpsters in the middle of the parking lot, and a lot of Used cars from the lot next door in the parking area. Not sure what that means.
  6. I doubt it will close permanently and you can see my previous comments why. As for the debit machine, you have to pay a fee to have one of those and knowing the owner he would probably rather not invest in a debit/CC machine. It is more of a cash-only business anyway.
  7. Read the article and you will see it is not just the Fax, he had the same issue with the downstairs place that was Zaphod's. The article also implies that other business owners are running into the same problem in the hospitality business.
  8. The article also gives the impression, unlike other posts on this board, that he is not intending to sell, and that the closing was solely due to the insurance issue. I am not sure how that will effect other bars in town. It will be interesting, but I can see the government stepping in if no bars (strip clubs or otherwise) can get affordable insurance.
  9. It may have been on city water, but trust me on this, it was definitely on septic. But as things build up in that area maybe they will run sewers down Bank?
  10. How so? George ain't going to let that place go down for a myriad of reasons. He will find another sucker to front the place, it is too valuable and useful to him.
  11. I seriously doubt it will close. The owner of the building will get someone to take it over. I suspect maybe the last person who was brought in to run it may have had enough and bailed while he had a chance. I heard he was having some difficulty with the building owner etc. and not making enough. Someone else will take it over. There are too few licensed places in town now, and that makes it attractive particularly as it is getting really built up in that area of Bank Street.
  12. It could be shit from the Motel (Ottawa Best Hotel) or the restaurant. Too much garbage all through that place. Not much to really throw out from the club itself. A lot of that was thrown out during the last renovations.
  13. I am unsure on this, because I know that the Casino Cabaret/Tease/ Palace of Screams etc, license has been reassigned more than once. I think the person writing for the paper doesn't understand the bylaw. The same with the Silver Dollar when it ran into trouble. They could have sold the property and the license (which was grandfathered to the address) to a new operator but as I understand it the owners didn't want to do that. If you read the bylaw section it specifically mentions the addresses that are allowed to have adult entertaiment licenses and some of them are long gone, like Jason's location in Kanata that is still on the books.
  14. I am trying to say this as politely as possible but have you been living under a rock this past few months? Stores and restaurants are boarded up all over the place during the pandemic to keep people out and resist the temptation for looting. Add to it the civil unrest/protest going on and that is why it has been done.
  15. I moved to Ottawa in '83 and the Barefax was open then and had been for awhile. It was located where the Dominion Tavern is now. It moved upstairs in the late 80's I believe. At that time in town there was BareFax, Playmate, Lido (on Portage strip), Gypsy Rose (aka Drummonds) Vendome/Valentino's, Silver Dollar, Habba Babbas (in Westboro), Pink Panther in Aylmer. Shortly there after there came Pigales, Fanny's (originally on Bank) The Den (across St Laurent and south of the NuDen) Barbarella's and one that lasted for a short while whose name I can't remember but it was located on Bank south of Landsdowne at the top of the hill there at Sunnyside. It was in the basement. Rumour has it there once was a small one in Richmond, there was Jason's in Kanata, and Carlsbad Springs. Not sure of the dates on those.
  16. Your theory is good but part of the problem will be that dancers like other SWs don't have a lot of other options right now. Nobody is working, not just the SWs. There are no other jobs or opportunities anywhere right now. So it is not like they are going to find another job. When this is over the number of people looking for work is going to be huge. I can see them hustling a lot more when this is over because they have to make up for lost money.
  17. No sexual touching basically means no touching. However as we know that is not enforced anywhere.
  18. I dropped in yesterday and I must admit I was very pleasantly surprised. There was a good selection of girls and very nice looking ladies as well. Probably as many as I would see at the Playmate on a Tuesday afternoon. Got to reunite with the amazing Skyla who said she has changed now to almost exclusively working afternoons. Still a lot of the same problems with the building however the stink from the men's room wasn't noticeable so they may have fixed that. I will definitely be dropping in more often, it was well worth it. (and before you ask I didn't get the names of all the girls but there were at least 6 working)
  19. Ella Jane, she advertises on Leos List (ex-CMJ) She is in that vicinity, probably closer than Brass or CMJ DT.
  20. Wow, that is a toughie. Based on the description of the build and the height it sounds like you could be talking about one of the two Jess's, but I wouldn't put them in that age range. However to be fair, they both carried themselves in a more mature manner so maybe you would think they were older. They did't look older but they behaved older if that makes sense.? Do you have any more info, such as hair colour or style? complexion? etc. Either way, as I understand it, they are both retired from the dancing game. They were both very popular and had their admirers although one was there a lot longer and had a lot of regulars. (Jessie as opposed to Jessica)
  21. Sorry to disagree with the sentiments expressed here so far. I agree that having another strip club in town is great and I loved Tease for its atmosphere and the people. It was definitely not a high end club and was dead during the days quite often, but at night it was a great club. The hype about its replacement however is just hype. I paid two visits last week to see what was what. One visit was on Thursday afternoon around 2 pm, where there was only one dancer. I went back on Saturday night where there were a lot of dancers including a lot of familiar faces from the Tease days. (Skyla, Jewel, Chanel, Lady Class and others) On the building itself, there have been some changes but most of them are not much more than superficial. On the left when you enter the raised area in red is exactly the same as when Tease was there right down to the chain link fencing under the bar rails. The red pleather banquettes are the exactly the same as is the stripper pole. The washrooms have been re-tiled and new fixtures installed. However the place still smells like shit because the septic tank is located behind the wall in the toilet stall. If you pop open the door in the stall you will look right down into the open septic pit. They are trying to cover the smell with perfume spray but it will not work. The tables and chairs on the floor are exactly the same when Tease was there. The bar stools are new but they are already breaking. Perhaps the most distressing thing I heard was that there is no "new owner". There may be one on paper, but in fact the owner is still the building owner and the operator of the place when it was Palace of Screams, Cabaret Canada etc. I won't comment on his business practices here but anyone who knows of him should worry. He ruined that business once and I am sure it will happen again. A lot of what was said about the investment in the club before opening is BS and one just has to really look to see how much of that was smoke and mirrors. So I hope the club stays open. I like a lot of the dancers and its location, but I am not sure it will survive in the long term. I think he will have trouble keeping good dancers for a bunch of reasons. I hope I am wrong, but only time will tell.
  22. Good luck to them. A lot of the Tease girls were there because it was the only place they could work. Nobody wants to go out that far particularly when the money is not good. They may think they have a gold mine being near the casino and race track but I don't think that is going to bring in the big bucks. The casino was there for a long time. I worked the bar there for a bit and it was a pain trying to get or keep girls. They would walk in, see it was dead and walk out. You could try and ban them, but then you would need dancers and you would have to let them back in. How did the renovations look?: Can you see where they put in a huge investment? Or is it strictly b.s.?
  23. I would say I will believe it when it actually opens if ever. I don't think any legitimate manager would take the place on. The building owner is not allowed to have the adult entertainment license. I seriously doubt they put any real money into fixing the place up. The building itself is a disaster area and I have no idea how they can keep it open as it breaks so many health and safety rules it should have been condemned years ago.
  24. Not what I said. It can be transferred over. Sometimes although they changed the name the owner in the case of Tease stayed the same except for the last person who held the license. Now they are having issues and I would say it is about 50-50 that the issue is with the owner's past or background. (criminal record, etc)
