Things that suck, and not in a good way.

Unwanted sexual harassment.

Oddly enough, this didn't happen in my job. As a sex worker, if someone is out-of-line, I shut that shit down quick.

Last night, I found myself being treated to some very much unwanted attention. No problem. I can handle it. But what makes me mad is that everyone involved, including my own husband, knew this was going to happen, but rather than "cause any unpleasantness," no one made waves. I was on my own. I could make a stink and be the asshole. Or I could just grin and bear it.

And again, you guys are probably thinking Christine's a tough old battleaxe. She can handle herself. And you're right, I can. But the thing is, outside of my husband, no one else in the situation knows who I really am. To them, I must look like someone's very modest and timid wife: a woman who dresses very modestly, conducts herself very modestly, never goes in the bar, never parties. So this group of people all must surely know what this guy is like, and yet, rather than make any unpleasantness, they do nothing to stop it?

This is what makes me mad about a lot of this C36 stuff, and the presumption that my job somehow puts me at risk for harassment, assault, exploitation. Maybe that's true for some sex workers, but it isn't for me. Despite all the sanctimony, the fact is that we, as a society, routinely turn a blind eye to women being put in situations they might find anything from uncomfortable to threatening to dangerous, simply because no one wants to rock the boat. They'll make laws to protect me from my own customers, but turn blind eyes to what happens to women all around us every day.

I understand your frustration, Christine, and its greater implications, but I'm going to risk making 'an ass out of u and me' (OK, probably just me) and assume that he still sucks in a good way!

The point is, if this had been one of my customers behaving so boorishly, I'd have pulled over right there on the dark, deserted stretch of highway, and invited him to step out. I'd show no mercy. Besides, the fresh air on the long walk home would obviously do him good.

Even decent men, like my husband, routinely put women in situations they know they will be uncomfortable in because it's easier than making waves. And sometimes women end up being more than just a bit uncomfortable.

This happens to thousands upon thousands of Canadian women (and maybe even Canadian men) every day. And yet, we need Big Brother to make a law to protect me from my customers. Sheesh!

I agree wholeheartedly. I have found myself in situations in the past on other jobs where it became one step away from a sexual harassment case.

In other workforce settings, it makes it much more difficult to shut down these other situations due to other circumstances surrounding employment, lack of proof or even just the consequences of reporting it such as being ridiculed by fellow employees.

I even had a chance encounter on another job with a well known Canadian serial killer who used his job position to try and intimidate others. He became very irrate and bothersome until I had to get a higher authority to step in and stop it. I knew he was a whackadoodle back then way before anyone else caught onto him. His body language towards me said it all. He ended up killing a woman he worked with and killing another. And they say being a prostitute is dangerous!

Being an SP allows me to call the shots, on my own that is. I can shut things down if I don't feel comfortable and I don't have to deal with anyone I don't want to deal with. Yet my government seems to know what is good and what is bad for me. I don't think so!

My dog was bitten by another dog the other day, in my own home, because he was near the other dogs food. One of the punctures is getting infected and the poor pug has been so sad since it happened.

Last night, when entering my high-rise building, someone on the 18th floor, in the apartment situated right above the building entrance, threw a beer bottle off their balcony. It actually made my hair flutter that's how close it came to hitting me. I called the emergency super, but it looks like they didn't do anything because the broken glass is still outside. If people throwing bottles down 18 stories at 10:30 on a Saturday night isn't an emergency, I honestly don't know what is. That could kill people. Gotta say I'm glad to be leaving this building, I'm not at all a fan of the management here for many reasons.

1.) Ugly thick rubber soled square toe shoes that are made from cheap plasticky corrected grain leather. These are not dress shoes, old sports; they are an abomination that will make Jesus cry tears of blood.

2.) When you really really really have to go use a washroom to do a #2 (that's the one you do sitting down) but you're in a public space (like walking downtown or somewhere like that) and there is no public washroom anywhere in sight. Sure, there are countless buildings around buy they're all private businesses and you can't go in to use their washrooms unless you have an electronic scan card to use to get in.

My dog stepped on something while playing at the lake. Big gash on her foot. It took 15 minutes to stop the bleeding. I had her calm and still, then the idiots start coming around wanting to see the gash. I'm like the bleeding hasn't stopped and you are getting her nervous. Everyone has an opinion - put her foot in the water etc. Um what part of the bleeding hasn't stopped do you not understand? It needs pressure - then once the bleeding has stopped we can clean and bandage.

I hate idiots that break beer bottles. Why do they do this? It could be your kid or dog or even you that gets cut.

It was such a great day but ruined by some idiot.

Dog is ok but sad - her first war wound.

This had happened to my dogs too, she was gashed so badly that the vet could not stich it together:( Took many months to heel, and almost had to face an amputation!

It had cut a vein, thankfully not an artery as I lived in the country and was a holiday!! So I packed flour into the wound, and applied pressure till we could get her to the doc one hour after. flour or sugar is a good coagulant for heavy bleeding. Water would be a bad choice, as it thins the blood also makes it difficult to see the real damage:(

Ladies that swipe your website content, tweets (yes, this is a thing) and pictures. It's bad enough when local girls jack your style (yes, it's very clear who 'inspired' you- people do notice these things), but it's just everywhere now. I can't even keep up with people telling me where my content has been jacked to. I'm glad my actual personality and style is such a hit but come on already.

Currently my pictures are on agency sites in Australia, Dubai, US and Canada, and all over eros in the US. Two girls in Prague screenshot my actual site and inserted their own names, email addresses and the city Prague. Last night, a gent from Brussels that I've never met informed me of an agency in Barcelona using my pics under the name Barbie, and this little gem from Belgium who not only swiped my photos but had the audacity to put her own watermark over mine: http://www.oriane-escort-vip.com/galerie-ang.html

And there's not a damn thing you can do about it- you'd spend all day chasing thieves and copycats around, starting in your own city! haha Thankfully, this is a small piece of my life and not the whole picture by a long shot, and that puts things in perspective and in its place.

Some little Amish girls were kidnapped a few miles from my house :( Happily, they managed to escape to the home of folks I know, although police won't yet divulge if they were molested in captivity. The pervs have not been caught yet, but it's known what kind of car it was.

My pooch Cody went to the Vet today as he has had difficulty passing his waste. He has a tumor in his system.Poor little guy is on meds but it doesn't look good at this time. He will be back to the Vet on Monday to see if the meds are working. It doesn't look good. I have had several Spaniels over the years and they are prone to this condition.

And the hits just keep on a'coming!

Having just put my mother to rest, my oldest brother revealed he has throat cancer. Aggressive treatment begins soon.

I told him he is required to get better. I have a strict quota of one funeral a year and this year's been taken.

Fingers crossed....

The "alleged perps" are now in jail under arrest. It's a couple, he a registered nurse, she holds Bachelor's in Psych. Not the stumble bums I expected, seems to make it even sicker. Btw, they are now suspected of other such incidents.

On vacation in Halifax, seeing my grandson. Got a message from a neighbor that a large limb from a tree in the front yard has blown down and up against the house. Might have to go home a little early.

Checked into a hotel in Canmore. Looks great from the street and it's a few blocks from the highway. This should be great.

Wait a second, HOLY CRAP! What's that noise?

Jeez I look out the window and the train tracks are about fifty feet away!
