theliquor (Lost but not fo 50595 Report post Posted November 15, 2014 Good morning my Friends, Enemies, Countrymen I entered this land of Cerb in 2010, longer than some, but not as long as others. Through this time I have made some great Friends, wonderful relationships and fun / sassy encounters that I have fully enjoyed. If you are reading this, I am assuming you have previously read the ones on getting cancer (the fu....oops sorry mod, the bastard) and the ups and down, trials and tribulations (sounds like my sex life!!) over the past couple of years. Well the end is nigh. The objective is to be around for Super Bowl, to know what that is and not think it is a luxury, Japanese toilet. Although the surgery to the shoulder removed a good chunk of cancer cells from the bone and muscle, it ended up travelling to the cortex and continues to grab onto chunks of the brain (what little brain there is!). The chemo treatments, especially the experimental ones helped to delay, sometimes shrink the bastard but it still crept along. Memory has become a huge issue with holes as big as Ottawa's sink holes in the expressway, the gps has become my day to day companion when driving, starting to need one when walking! Thinking of wearing a sign around my neck along with my mittens with strings, that points to my house, or a bar that serves great single malt scotch. You know you are on the way out when the docs are arranging your next treatment when they say, "we will fit you in when convenient", not sure who it is convenient for...... Squirrel!!! sorry I wandered off for a bit Anyway, back to the Ladies of Cerb. Whether a MA or .., as previously stated, I have been lucky enough to enjoy a friendship and a kinship with and I am ever grateful. I love the banter, silliness, the heart to heart discussions some of us have had. The hugs, kisses and spanks (obviously mod, the spanks were for my birthday!) were always a treat. I have started to say good bye to a few of you that have been very special to me. Some in person, some by email or pm. I am sure I will miss some with this .... full of swiss cheese. But to all of you, thank you for being who you are! Stay true and safe. To my male colleagues, thank you for all the support. It is greatly appreciated. Over the next couple of weeks, I will get out when / while I can to grab a quick coffee with some of you to give you a hug! If you are aware of and still keep in contact with Ladies who have either retired or are no longer using Cerb (gasp) and you know that they were intimate with me, please let them know, I would appreciate that. I will endeavour to go A - Z to update recommendations as long as I can. I had a discussion with my brother, and he will let you know through a post probably signed on as theliquor (he will have access to my computer and password for Cerb) that I have "moved on, up or down!". He will sign off as "the liquor's brother" When that happens, I have arranged to be buried in those lovely golf pants, matching pink shirt and my pink and white golf shoes, a bottle of Glenmorange 25 and my 1 iron. Have already paid for the wake, admission will be a shot of single malt and the shot glass each one drinks from to be put in the casket with me. What the hell, might as well make the "6" work extra hard with the extra weight! Once you find out, please grab a bottle of single malt scotch, raise a glass to when we meet again on the other side. Kindly, your friend TheLiquor Tom

Mikeyboy 27133 Report post Posted November 15, 2014 I have admired the strength, wisdom, courage and positivity you have somehow managed to show throughout this ordeal. Sadly, sometimes the hardest fought battles don't end the way they should, no matter how unjust that is. You are a gentleman sir and I will gladly raise a glass to you. All my best to you. I truly believe you are leaving this world a better place then you found it. Your memory will not fade. I will forever more drink a scotch with a toast to you Tom. I have my bottle waiting at home for your day. And when you cross to other side, feel free to stop into my realm, perhaps I will keep a golf ball on my shelf and you can go ahead a drop to let me know you are there, lol. Till we meet again, be brave!

PistolPete 61421 Report post Posted November 15, 2014 Tom, They say the 1 iron is one of the toughest golf clubs in the bag to hit with,I know that, as I never could hit mine correctly in the sweet spot, however, life is not always about fun and games, it is about those battles we all live with, especially with friends or family. Tom,our friend here on Cerb, you have hit all of us with your toughest battle in life, and hit it correctly in the sweet spot, to show all of us the courage, it takes to continue to battle. I will have that toast, as the song goes, I will have 3 in your honour... "One Bourbon,One Scotch,One Beer"

mrgreen760 37785 Report post Posted November 15, 2014 It times like these and I have lost 2 old dear friends in a week, that put life and what really matters into focus and perspective. As I've learned in the end it's all pretty simple. To love and have been loved. The late great Warren Zevon when dieing from lung cancer was asked if he learned anything on his life journey. He smiled and said..... yes.......enjoy every sandwhich. Gods speed. Peace MG
Guest **cely***r***ne Report post Posted November 15, 2014 Oh jeeze... I don't have words enough. You know how easy I am to cry. Im pretty sure you seen me bawl my damn eyes out the day we met and you brought me a beautiful bouquet of pink flowers. I will never forget that. Reading your post has brought tears to my eyes and they're spilling over. Your strength is admirable, inspirational and tears apart my heart. I will pray to the universe and Spirit that you be peaceful now until you meet your loved ones in heaven. May you be eternally blessed

Kyra.Graves 23779 Report post Posted November 15, 2014 Gosh... pink shoes and scotch. I may be in love. Though we have not met your posts have brought me a few laughs and even made me think a few times and for that I thank you. Being a person that would much rather have a fancy Japanese musical toilet rather than any football game I hope you find several amazing Super Bowls hiding throughout the city and get them to deliver a flower scented spritz your way - how is that not more fun than some silly sporting event? ;) Hope you don't mind I'm going to dip into the scotch early and pour myself some now, I just want to be in practice for when you decide we need to share that drink. Cheers to you! *hic*

It is my regret that I don't know you as well as others but you have been a great contributor to Cerb and please watch over all of us. I will toast in your favorite drink with a few of my close .. friends in your memory. Your memory will live on forever in our hearts and minds. Old Dog 179138 Report post Posted November 16, 2014 Tom... Goodbyes are sad.... but... being able to say goodbye is the only downfall of having said hello in the first place. Your "hello" to many of us happened here, or in socials, or in a far more intimate setting with those you have come to appreciate. I would rather not have to say goodbye my friend... but I will never regret saying hello. Peace to you my friend. Paul
