You know you're old when you realize you saw the first concert Kiss ever performed in Montreal (at the Forum) back in 1976 almost 20 years before your nieces and nephews who listen to them now, were born.

Along the same lines as Angela, I recall seeing the Farewell Tour for Bob Dylan and The Band in the Montreal Forum, again I believe in 1976!

But, and this is sooo cool to me, I am 58 but know what, I don't feel the least bit old. :)

I remember when Guns 'N' Roses were "this new great band" and I had to have their new CASSETTE TAPE!

You know you're old when milk, bread and even liquid bleach (the Javel Man) was delivered to the home. When Rush was an opener for J. Geils and Rory Gallager was the headliner.

Like mrnice2, I have never been one for feeling or acting my age. It's not a yearning for a lost youth, just share your experience and gain more too.

You know you're old when only people in your age group know who Rory Gallagher was - such an underrated musician who was taken from us way too early in life.

And when you introduce him to younger people, they ask, how come I never heard of this dude? A hidden gem for sure.

You know you are from the same age group (not old) when the lady you are seeing can discuss things from the same era as you and you both know what is being talked about, because your both the same age give or take a few months

You know you are old when ladies calling themselves cougars are really kittens

You know you are old when retirement is close

You know you are old (maybe experienced too) when it is the company, in entirety, of an SP you look forward to, not just the sexual side of the encounter, or put another way, you do your thinking with the big head, not the little one LOL

You know you're old when you start thinking that taking earplugs to a concert is actually a good idea.

You know you're old when you can say:

- You said the Lord's Prayer and sang God Save the Queen every morning in school

- Girls were not allowed to wear pants to school

- There was one (rotary) telephone in the house

- You were at Expo '67

- You saw Neil Armstrong walk on the moon on a black and white television set

- You saw adults crying when Kennedy got shot

- You were given a spoonful of cod liver oil every morning.

- Your 9 year old niece can use a smart phone better than you.

Can relate to every one of those Angela, except the 9 year old niece (don't have one)

But to add, that rotary phone was on a party line too

And if you went to the movies, you stood up at the beginning of the movie for the National Anthem

You know you are old when you still have the first push button telephone from the 80's. And it still works like a charm.

You know you are old when you come to attention for the national anthem on Canada Day and everyone else is sitting down.

You know you are old when you can remember the union jack flag was the flag of Canada.

You know you are old when...

1. All of the bands that you listened to as kids have members that could qualify for CPP and the Old Age Supplement.

2. That hot chick that you lusted after in high school is now a grandmother.

3. You need a nap before looking at porn.

4. You consider getting out of bed, out of a chair or off the couch as exercise.

5. Your eyebrow hair has taken on a new life and direction of its own.

6. You can remember a time when there was only one vampire.

7. Your kids laugh at all the movies that scared you.

A lot of these bring back memories. How about?

You know you are old when:

Stereo records were the "new" thing.

You can remember the Toronto Maple Leafs winning the Stanley Cup.

(apologies to Leafs fans for bringing this up)

Neil Young joined Crosby, Stills and Nash.

- When you loved listening to your new 8 track

- When you could go to the store and buy a bag of penny candies

- When drive-ins are the best places to make out

- When you bought milk from a milkman

- When the family couldn't decide if buying cable would be something that would last

- When we knew our neighbours

- When we liked our mailman

* You remember eating Mcdonalds from the old styrofoam packages.

McD-550x412.jpg

* You actually know what a "pen pal" is.

* Musicians/bands had more than one song.

* Gasoline below $1/litre.

* Remembering how big cell phones used to be.

* Remembering when a phone was just a phone...

* When watching movies that are set "back then" recognizing and then being able to say "I used to have a phone like that."

I remember milk being delivered in Toronto when I was young. It came in glass bottles with cardboard lids and was delivered from a horse drawn wagon. Now that's old
