3 pointsGreat post, backrubman. I'm especially sensitive to this because of recent experiences of my own. One great advantage of this board is that I have good friends on here who alert me to situations I may not know about, like my reviews and identity beng "borrowed" on another board, or someone impersonating me trying to set up appointments with women. We have to watch out for one another. Beyond that, screening is important. As I said on another thread, if you're an sp contacted by phone, text, or e-mail by someone claiming to be a cerb member, it's a good policy to check by pm with that member. http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=79987

3 pointsI'll admit to being a hypocrite. I'm a major animal lover. Animals are frequently the subjects of my artwork and I've always lived with cats, dogs and birds. I also eat meat. I wear shoes and belts and I carry leather handbags. I've had a couple of wonderful leather jackets at different times. I wore a gorgeous full length mink coat for awhile--a gift from a man to whom I was engaged at the time and which I returned when I decided to break the engagement. My dressiest coat these days has fox fur trim. I'm more than a little ambivalent about fur, though. I don't expect to wear mink ever again. Or any "farmed" animal, for that matter. There's really not much reason to wear a fur coat in Vancouver: it's rarely very cold for long. But if I lived somewhere that had cold, snowy winters, I wouldn't rule out wearing fur if the animal had been hunted or trapped for the reasons Lee Richards has noted. I'm also conscious of the Aboriginal fur trade and don't object to it. So, I could see myself wearing badger, beaver or fox. They're wonderfully warm and a good fur coat lasts a very long time. I wear silk, too. I don't think there is a humane way to harvest silk, but I'm much less anthropomorphic about worms than about mammals. I wear cotton, but less than I once did since learning about the environmental damage cotton farming causes and the health damage workers often receive, in addition to being extremely poorly paid for their labour. I wear wool, a lot, but it comes from animals that I expect are well-treated. The animals don't have to die to give up the fur, which is a relief. I don't wear polyester though, unless I can't avoid it (I haven't been able to find a bra that wasn't mostly polyester, for example). It's a petroleum product and I've been trying for years to reduce the petroleum products, including polyester and plastics, that I use. I think that petroleum products are just bad for us and our world. But I'm pretty hypocritical about this, too. I do drive, after all.

3 pointsThe problem comes tho when a man is doing his "research" by reading reviews etc. It's important to remember that providers are not blow up dolls, just because someone else got A,B and C doesn't mean it's going to be on the menu for you. The problem is when guys ask for services upfront without knowing us. Having an anal probe the size of my forearm on the first visit isn't happening but you would be amazed at how many do ask or worse yet just try without asking during the first visit. They read reviews without knowing the history of the SP and the client; assuming she's going to be exactly like that with them. Always remember these are real people and some reviews aren't so real situations... cat

3 pointsI am replying to this as a country bumkinses with rifles ;) I hunt foxes when need be....but for necessary reasons for instance because they are killing my chickens :( .... or population control. I will sell or give the hides to local trappers for the fur trade.... and I do have a fox hat. I hunt coyotes every year and sell the hides for fur trade .... a population control issue and kill local cattle which is the livlihood of many in my area...they run in packs and need to be controlled. As population increases so does the mange and that is not a good thing either. This is only a couple examples used to get my point across....but right, wrong or indifferent I obviously am involved in the fur trade in one way or another. I am an animal lover big time ! With the exception of a few years in the city...I have spent my life living in the bush pretty much surrounded by wildlife. It is awesome truthfully .... but there are nature control issues that are always there so the fur trade will need to live on forever in my world as I see it. If it doesn't and there are no more people to wear furs...the hides will just be tossed away.....

2 pointsUnfortunately this seems the curse of having a profile and a good reputation. The only way to deal with it would seem to be at the ladies end of things, as you suggest. Either, the lady being booked has to double check with the CERB member through their CERB handle (no handle, no booking), or the person being asked to provide the reference needs to inquire of the CERB member if they are, in fact, planning to see the lady. . It seems to me that the primary onus should be on the lady being booked, after all it is her screening process. I prefer to do much of my communication through CERB, which alleviates some issues of certainty when I'm booking. But it doesn't prevent someone unscrupulous from trying to take advantage. Porthos

2 pointsWomen bleed. That's the way it is. Deal with it. If you spend enough time inside women you are going to get some blood on you sooner or later. If you are willing to enjoy the fun side of the vagina, you should be prepared to occassionally encounter the real side too. The lady may or may not have any warning. Not every woman is regular like a calendar. Its not fair to assume they are neccessarily being deceptive. I'm sure if you asked the ladies they'd rather not have periods at all. It's not exactly the highlight of their month either. And anyway, periods are only one reason you could end up with blood on your piece.

2 pointsSince I can't knit or crochet I will gladly assist you with the measurement aspect of the business... No ruler needed either ;)

2 pointsThis position has a variety of advantages: -It's comfortable for men with back problems. -Sometimes a woman prefers it when a man's penis is a bit big for her, that way she can control the penetration. -It leaves everybody's hands free to do other things while having sex. -The aformentioned view of the lady. -Psychologically people prefer it for different reasons, some because they see the person on top as being the dominator, some because they see being on bottom as being pampered.
-
2 pointsWomen's mestral blood can attract bears. So if your incall location is a tent in the woods, you shouldn't work during your period. That is just my advice.

1 pointPlease DO NOT have conversations on the ladies recommendation threads, if you want to ask questions about a lady do it in the discussion areas (put a link to the recommendation if you wish) but please DO NOT ask questions or make comments on the recommendation threads that are not adding to the recommendation. Your just BUMPING it and in some cases posting bad questions. Today alone I had to remove a comment from someone bitching that the lady owed him money, I had to remove a comment asking if she does BBBJTC and another asking about a different lady! Come on guys please DO NOT do this. and ladies... remember you can not post a reply on your recommendation threads either. If someone has posted something you do not like on your rec thread simply FLAG it using the REPORT THIS icon on the post.

1 pointi think that many of the ladies have reviews everywhere where you can have an idea what is available..Demanding to be assure before a meeting(anyway for me)is never really taken positive especially when i prefer to not discuss sexual activities via email,pm,phone before an encounter. For many ladies if you need to have the guarantee it is a turn off and also that you dismiss her valuable reputation. Not to say may offend her too..And remember also that building higher expectation base on a wider menu or countless of reviews usually bring to disapointement..It is like this...The movie is never as good as the book you read. Coming in a meeting with open mind and no high expectations can reflect on personality(i am someone that feed myself a lot of the energy of others) and bring a more than expected fabulous meeting. VJ

1 pointHey Backrubman .... I can well understand why you are so upset. I'd be beside myself. It's interesting, that in a virtual community, where we live behind handles and avatars, that our reputation and good name is still so very important. I think that also speaks to how CERB is a community of hobbyists and providers, rather than a review board. I suspect you are quite right that no one is trying to deliberately cause you harm, but rather they are trying to trade on your good name! It still is extremely troubling, and makes me worry for the ladies as well. Porthos

1 pointI too am a big fan of William Powell, particularly from the Thin Man series but did many other great movies over several genres: drama (Crossroads), comedy (Love Crazy, Libeled Lady) and of course mysteries (Thin Man and Philo Vance series, the Ex Mrs. Bradford). TCM also has spotlighted other great actors including Robert Mitchum, Cary Grant etc. I find that these 3 actors in particular have a body of work that holds up very well these many years later. Their stories are still relevant today and have few dated references. In fact many of these movies are still being remade.

1 pointCowgirl and reverse cowgirl have always been my favorite.... I hope this doesn't make me sound lazy .... because I am not doing any of the work ;) Never quite looked at sex that way before I guess. Cowgirl because I find it the most erotic...the close facial and eye contact, kissing ...I like to run my fingers through your hair or stroke your cheek so yes I like my hands to be free for various reasons ;) RCG is just a completely different and amazing feel and sensation that I have come to luv !! I very much enjoy every postition I have ever tried so I would hope any lady would tell me if a certain one is their least favorite.....at least on a repeat visit when the comfort level with each other is there and a little more experimentation tends to happen. I rarely will ask and just let things happen naturally.

1 pointAs I write, there is a fire burning down a house in the street next to the apartment building I live in All sorts of people (non tenants) drove into the apartment parking lot (small lot btw), and parked in the middle of the lot blocking anyone from getting in or out, so they can get out and view of the fire. A bunch of the tenants, myself included had to move our vehicles, in case the flames spread, and burned our vehicles. Told one kid he better move his car or my truck was going to move it for him And they brought their cameras to take pictures of the tragedy. And on their cell phones calling friends over to watch the fire with them. Listening to them, this was their entertainment, no conception it was a families' home, and belongings. For that matter, don't even know if there are any fatalities Just kinda irks me RG

1 pointGot hired today in an senior excutive position for an industry that represents my third distinct and different career. Pretty cool! My Grade 12 has served me well. All kidding aside, I've been adaptable, open to change and at 58 still willing and eager to learn. Peace MG

1 point*closes eyes and remembers some American feedlots I toured a few years ago* what i most remember is cattle chest deep in mud and their own filth and seeing a steer having a hook rip out part of its body then gasp in pain before its throat was cut while it was still alive. Fur, leather, meat, any sort of live animal can be inhumanely killed for whatever reason. I have always believed in changing the way we treat animals as compared to flour bombing, throwing red paint or whatever. Posted via Mobile Device

1 pointI wasn't questioning you, or your character. For all I knew, maybe this person was using your phone # in ads without your consent. That coupled with the fact they have no pictures or reviews raised more than a few red flags for me. Sorry if I offended you.

1 pointCan't agree more with Cato's post #2 right at the top of this thread. It just brightens up my day when I've received a PM from a special friend. :)

1 pointI thought this post was about a different kind of fur too! I've commented on how hard it is to find an SP who isn't shaven. Love fur!

1 pointWhen I first started, I went with the average. I realized that too low was attracting people that I did not want to spend time with and too high meant that I was missing out on meeting some really great people. I then sat down and decided how many people I wanted to see a week, what hours I wanted to be available and how much I needed to keep up my lifestyle. That is how I determined my rates :)

1 pointCristy...if every moves you do is to get adknowledgement and appreciation it may be deceptful If someone ask help..ask a reference or ask infos...i think it is common courtesy to respond with a thank you..Giving someone compliments..Well it is very nice of you and get even better if they adknowledge but as per example i don't see my profile posts very often..And when a lady only write to me to either compliments me or ask advices i have to be honest that it doesn't go in priority as i am usually behind schedule and need to catch up on my emails for my current tours... I think if it is a fellow sp that ask help..a thank you is well deserve as you take some of your time to cater for that person and you don't really have to But keep in mind that you shouldn't do anything with the expectations of reward. xVJ

1 pointAs she is new to the industry and I've known her for years. She just moved to Ottawa recently so I have been helping by answering the phone for her intill she gets her number switched. I am not sure what there is to be skeptical about as I am a well reviewed provider and have no reason to pose as another provider not to mention I could not get away with being 50 (I hope lol)

1 pointthanks for agreeing it is a good topic i honestly turn to a guy friend and ask him what i should do because i have been crying the last few days..People come to me with so high demand..They are disapointed or are mad when i tell that their approach cool me off...They see one girl happy with the fact she is gfe and give one shot and i am here and they almost want me to prove why they should see me when i do double...it is an insult..not only they don't treat me as human beein but are mad that i notice it

1 pointIf I want to agonize over a menu, I'll go to MacDonalds. If I want to meet a special lady, I'll watch her posts here for awhile and then I'll talk to her in some manner. It really doesn't take too long for me to decide whether or not we'll click. I'm pretty easy going and low maintenance and I seem to gravitate towards those who have a sense of humor and appear to have a genuine interest in seeing me as a person in addition to being a client. I don't see my friends as escorts, really. I think of them more as friends with benefits. Every lady is different, but if I treat them as a lady, they'll treat me as a friend. The first hug and smile are the icebreakers....and then it's all good.

1 pointI don't think anyone should be taking this gentle reminder personally. Yes the visitor can sometimes come without warning and be unpredictable, but I don't think that's what this thread is about. Sometimes the lady may very well be in the know about her "visitor" and simply not clue the client in on it because she wants that $200. I am NOT saying this of all ladies, and certainly not of any ladies on here. So please don't bite my head off. In my experience the majority of ladies will have enough respect for us to let us know if it's that time of the month and will simply offer restricted services during that time or will take the time off. But sadly there is the minority who will not. Unfortunately not everyone on this planet is honest and respectful, men and women alike. I think this reminder is for those ladies who purposely leave out that little bit of information when booking the appt. If you're not that kind of lady then there's no sense in taking offense to it. I don't take offense to the many "reminder" threads about gentleman's hygiene and/or cancellations, etc because I know I'm not that kind of client and I know those threads have nothing to do with me.

1 pointI've known people who had university degrees yet their spelling was atrocious. They would write the word "were" when they really meant "we're". I remember learning that in grade two. Or others who couldn't string a sentence together. I sometimes wonder how they made it through. I've also seen CEOs of large multi million dollar companies make the same mistakes using the word "weather" when they were supposed to use "whether". LOL. Their first language was English so there was really no excuse. I believe that it is not just education that can make someone go further in life. Personality, ambition and a positive outlook are major contributing factors as well. If you have life experience, it counts for something as I've also known people from high school who have an education yet they do not have the life skills and are still living at home at the age of 30. And they have the personality of a piece of wood to boot. I would not let your lack of education get in the way of your business. I have spent some time in this industry and learned a lot and have had many great conversations with clients. It is also the way you carry yourself. If you give off that vibe that you don't think you're good enough or smart enough, people pick up on that and the ignorant ones will try to use that to their advantage or make you feel stupid and worthless. I've never had problems in school but I don't really consider myself book smart. I felt as if I was just going through the motions because that's what you were supposed to do. To be honest, I really wasn't that interested in learning theory. I was more of a practical person who had a creative side. It wasn't until I finished high school that I discovered what I wanted to do. I am someone who has a lot of life experience from an early age and made me who I am today. If you want to discuss certain topics with clients, I would advise you to stay on top of current events. Reading the newspaper daily doesn't hurt either. Generally, if you're on a half hour or hour appointment, there is not a lot of time to test the intelligence of an SP. However, if you're on a dinner date and want to have a good conversation, ask questions ( what they do for a living and let them lead the conversation) or find something light to talk about. At the end of the day, SPs are not there to prove how smart they are. If you've created a name for yourself in this business, I think you're off to a good head start as our industry is cut throat. It takes time to establish yourself. By doing so, you will have proven to others that you are an intelligent person. Sometimes just being yourself makes you more interesting instead of having to prove how smart you are.
-
1 pointI don't have the formal education level I thought I would have for someone for my age, but I have noticed that doesn't really matter so much when it comes to seeing clients, being knowledgeable about other topics does help with conversation but you can get that from reading books and news articles. If someone is trying to "test" they are just being an ass. You can also go back to school if you really want to do it, and if that is something you really want to do then that journey will help with your own personal growth and no one else's

1 pointI would like to add that sometimes Mother Nature's "gift" comes without any warning and at an innapropriate time. It is entirely conceivable that she started her period while you were engaged in intercourse.

1 pointThis was actually yesterdays highlight but: Well after 5 + years of tests and procedures and tumors removed and cancer and cancer scares I have finally been given a "clean bill of health"....at least for now ;) ...Yay !! So I am raising my glass of Lee's finest 2 year old home made wine (2010 was a great year) to all you Cerb peeps .... Cheers :chug: Life is good !

1 pointThe Sun is a simple rag that just panders to its base. This is a problem with all newspapers, in fact all ad-based media; they exist to sell ads to readers in the service of advertisers, so they must print not necessarily what's true or reasonable -- just whatever they think will sell the most copies. Newspapers aren't selling news to you; they're selling you to advertisers. It's always been that way. In the case of the Sun, I've always imagined that they peg their market as made up of readers who are, well, a bit dim. Think permanent 17-year-olds on the verge of dropping out of high school. They like to ogle and snicker, but they're fundamentally conservative -- especially in public, like on editorial pages. They have their urges, but they draw strength from feeling like they're members of their parent's conservative clan. So you get exactly the hypocrisy you describe -- escort ads, page X girls, but shallow thinking and sanctimonious moralizing in editorials. Readers check the sports scores, nod in cantankerous agreement with the editorials, maybe say something to the wife about the fall of society... and then dial up an escort from the back pages. I'd point you to the Citizen instead, but... it's got David Warren. I cancelled my subscription ages ago 'cause of that guy, and told them I wouldn't be back until he was gone. Now I just read it for free online, and only for the local news.
