Since moving out of town, we often receive fish or venison from neighbours who hunt and fish, but either end up with too much, or who don't like to eat what they catch. This works out great for us! Not only do we love eating it ourselves, but our doggies and kitties are absolutely wild about venison. Nothing goes to waste in this house! We would never want to put upon anyone for anything like this, but we have to wonder if there isn't a lot of venison and fish that ends up in the landfill after languishing in freezers for some time. How could we tactfully and respectfully let people know we'd be only too happy to take it off their hands, if it's just going to go to waste anyway? We're lucky to already have a couple neighbours who've offered.

It is with disappointment that I read of the cancellation of the social in June in Halifax. I have been following the conversation here on this thread from its inception and recognized the insecurities that were being expressed. Rightly and correctly, every person involved has to be aware of and have respect for discretion, confidentiality and personal comfort levels not only for themselves but for others. With the idea of a social being 'new' to the Maritime area those things appear to have caused concern and worry. Were these concerns justified? I do not know. I DO know that I had intended to go and that I was looking forward to meeting fellow Cerb members in a pleasant and purely social context. I have been busy and travelling for the past number of weeks and when I get home and think a bit, then perhaps I may suggest an alternative for June or for at some point in the early fall. For the moment however I will take all of this at face value and as I tend to do to I will look at the upsides. It is quite clear that there is interest in the idea and in most cases where there is a will there is a way. Therefore I am anticipating that this will happen in one form or another in the near future and in a very simple form. I want to thank Taloon for his valient attempt at trying to bring this idea to fruition, and I hope that the experience has not dampened his enthusiasm for being a contributing member of this amazing community. At the moment if my 'ticket' money can be used to offset expenses already committed to then please use it for that. If that is not necessary or required then Taloon please donate it to a women's shelter in Halifax. For the moment then, looking to a social in the not too distant future.

Bad week for disco.... First the irreplaceable Donna Summer died, and then today Robin Gibb of the BeeGees.... Saw Donna in 2008 at Bluesfest... she still rocked at 59. It's one of the scary things about getting older - the people you still picture in their prime as young and vibrant are now much older and in some cases, passing away.....

Losing the laundry card for my building. And my rental office in my building is closed over the weekend so I can't get a new one. And being completely and utterly out of any clean clothes. Been in my underwear all weekend as a result.....and I'm down to my last pair of clean ones! And I got a movie to go to with a friend tomorrow afternoon! Praying that the rental office is open tomorrow morning so I can get a new one even though it's a stat holiday.......otherwise I'll be showing up to the movies in the buff!

There are a number of personal reasons why a provider may not have recommendations. I have not had a new reco in almost 4 years by choice. I am simply not comfortable with intimate details of time shared floating out there in the world strictly for entertainment value. Some providers have SO's or children and don't want those details out there for their loved ones to read by chance in the event they are outed. Others have stalker issues and the less said about her the better her chances for safety sake. Some providers are part time with full time employment and out of respect to their employer they prefer to fly under the radar. These are also the same reasons they don't use pictures that are identifying. My gentle suggestion is to spend some time getting to know the provider via pm or email. Look at her advertising. Is she professional? Does she respond in a timely manner to your inquiries and answer your questions to your satisfaction? If so, then chances are you won't be disappointed... cat

Well there is a point yet to be made here and then I think everyone has done a great job of covering the subject. I re-read the whole thread and saw these words (small sample) "Dangerous, stupid, incomprehensible, crazy risk, extremely disturbing" but it's the remark about the otherwise "safe environment" I have to comment on. CFS is not safe, it's just less riskier. If you knew as a matter of "fact" that your partner had AIDS (or lets be less dramatic and say genital herpes) and you know this to be true, would you consider a condom adequate protection? I know I wouldn't. As clients or SPs and consenting adults were are accepting a certain level of risk as acceptable but let there be no doubt there is still a risk. Just as any SP offering BBBJ is at risk of offering CIM even if they don't plan to (by extension - surprise), any SP offering CFS is subject to it becoming BBFS by surprise. Personally I have experienced two different types of malfunctions and thankfully many years ago now. One is like a balloon, poof no more condom (that matters) and the other type of failure is not as pronounced or immediately noticeable, but condoms absolutely do fail and even when they don't there is still a risk. Been looking forward to today to getting the boat out. Well I got all three batteries installed (1 12 volt for the outboard 2 12 volts for the trolling motor) only to find the marina had pulled the jumper cable (a wire connecting the positive terminal of one 12 volt battery to the negative terminal of the other 12 volt battery) to make it 24 volts. So off I hop in my truck to the marina, about a 30 minute drive, to get a cable. Takes them about 20 minutes to make me a jumper cable, but at least, good for them, no charge, they replaced it for free. On the way back I stop in at Canadian Tire pick up a few odds and ends, and look in Marks Work Warehouse, buy nothing. Get back home, tighten the screws down on my trolling motor, and connect the jumper cable...everything seems a-ok...except one thing. Some a$$hole :-( is parked right in front of my boat in my spot (likely not a tenant, someone that thinks apartment parking is public parking) Well I can't go out fishing today...but that person can't go anywhere now either, because my truck is now parked in front of him/her.
