It's very easy to read the discussions and become disillusioned thinking that every guy on here is as great at the ones who post. But they're not. In fact, the two biggest creeps I've met, came from right here on cerb. I think this is something people need to keep in mind every time a similar conversation comes up on here (about pre-paying, references, anything to do with a lady's procedures). The guys who participate in the forums are probably not the ones we need to worry about. The procedures aren't necessarily for them (Even my own. I posted on another thread that I would ask someone to leave if they didn't put the payment down up front. I've met some gentlemen from cerb that I'm so comfortable with based on their post history/attitude on here I didn't even think of it, and wasn't at all worried about being ripped off. But that's the exception, not the rule - and it was MY choice to bend my rule, not his). The procedures are there for the big, sometimes dark, sometimes scary, part of this business that you guys just don't see on here. But that doesn't mean it's not there.

I also enjoy the GFE MA experience. I find it more sensual then F/S most of the time. The MA's are often gorgeous. There can be a lot more teasing involved. I often have a lot of sore muscles and this helps relieve the pain. Once you have seen some MA's regularly a trust and bond can happen where you can talk about anything. I am unfortunately familiar with those underwhelming experiences where the most elaborate ads, with all the right words and seductive pictures, too often begin to lose their luster with the first reply (I am at a loss to understand how someone claiming to be a university educated companion can compose a message without spelling one word correctly). Too many ladies do not come close to living up to what they promise. There is of course the other end of the spectrum. Gents (and Ladies) Here's another newbie question but probably everyone is interested to see what you think on this topic. Obviously all of us are aware of the notion of tipping for great service received, however tipping often has customary practices that are unique to the surrounding circumstances. What are the 'best practices' re: tipping in the SP space? For example... - always tip except in the face of worse possible service (like tipping in a restaurant) - only tip if the service was 'blow you away' good (Not a BJ pun!) - never tip because the donations are "all inclusive" (this would seem unlikely to me) And lastly, is tipping generally percentage based (like a waiter or a cab) or a fixed amount based, or whatever you think it was worth based? Sorry to bring up money when so many more fun topics are at hand, but these Ladies deserve Best Practice and personally, I definitely do not want to miss the mark on this important point. Splitz, first of all let me say how cool it is to read that you've changed your mind on this. A reasoned exchange of views and ideas online leading to someone adjusting their view? I think we may have just broken the Internet! :) I understand what you are saying in terms of clarifying that you weren't envisioning a private section for negative remarks. But personally I don't think your comparison to discussing a new boyfriend and their first date quite holds up. After all, I think we know that the details that would end up getting discussed in a private section would end up being a lot more than just 'were they a good kisser or conversationalist'. Plus, it would be shared with a larger audience. To keep with your comparison it would be more akin to Julie and Jake finishing their first date, and then Jake going to a private group on Facebook and sharing with all the people there--many he doesn't even know enough to trust--the intimate details about Julie's sexual preferences, what activities she offered, how her breasts felt, etc. Not quite the same thing as sharing with a best friend some details about a new crush. You're right that these aren't necessary negative details or SP bashing--they could be shared with the best of intentions--but it would still end up discussing things better left for the lady to decide whether she wants shared or not. For one thing this allows the lady to control which activities may become expected by others.

I've had mine, and I recommend it. Gardasil is now approved for use in Canada for all sexually active women up to age 45. This specific vaccine protects against the four most common main strains of HPV - the 2 (strains 16 & 18 ) which cause 70% of all cervical cancers, and the 2 (strains 6 & 11) which cause 90% of all warts. Like Jessica, I've also had the Twinrix (Hep A & B) vaccines. Both give me an extra tiny bit of peace of mind. Can you post this "respectable source" and what exactly you think is exaggerated? It's not an opinion that HPV can cause cervical cancer, or genital warts, it is fact. It's also true that you can have HPV with no adverse health affects at all. It all depends on the strain(s) contracted... But why take the risk? The medical community pretty much agrees that the results have been a staggering achievement in the reduction of HPV cases in people who have been vaccinated, cutting infection rates by more than half! Also, with very little adverse reactions to the actual vaccine. And actually most health plans do cover it. Alternatively, it is considered a health expense claim for self employed individuals (SPs) when filing our taxes. I don't know how common it is among other sex-workers, as I can only take care of myself, and do what I can to protect my own health as I see fit.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with you. The client doesn't make the rules and the ladies' "rules" are not up for negotiation. If one disagrees with them, he should move on to the next lady who has a more flexible "set of rules" that fit one's comfort level. If I may ask, although sex work is a unique industry, where else can you go as a client and ask businesses to compromise on their rules/standards/etiquette? Do you think it is acceptable to do with SPs because, well, they are only SPs and don't deserve the same respect as other business owners do? I am asking the above so I can understand the reasoning behind it and not to be confrontational ;)

I know sometimes it's hard to read tone in a post, so my post below is being written as an attempt to explain one point-of-view for not answering blocked numbers, it's not written in any confrontational way, and definitely not an 'I'm right, you're wrong' or anything like that. A few months back I posted a thread about one-word texts saying 'Hi'. I thought they were rude - and from the responses I received, I realized I was wrong. Things aren't always the way you think they are. I am truly sorry if some people think we're being rude by not answering blocked numbers - for me, it's part of keeping myself sane in this business, and it's not rude at all. Before I briefly retired from SP-ing and became and MA for a while, I used to answer blocked numbers. Because, as has been pointed out, sometimes men block their number because they are calling for some more info and don't yet want to give our their number. But I'll tell you what my experience was by answering those calls. For the info calls, after I answered the questions, the call would go one of three ways: the gent would accept the info, and decide to call back to book with an unblocked number. This was the least common result. The more common was to either try and convince me to give him my location info on the blocked number, and the second most common was for me to realize the man was jerking off on the other end of the line, no intention to actually book. Websites like cerb show us the wonderful side of this business; it helps you gentlemen to see how many other gentlemen there are that take part in this hobby. So it's easy to think it's simply gentlemen calling for info and hiding their privacy - but sadly, in reality, most of the time the people hiding behind those blocked numbers are not gentlemen: they are creeps. So, about half the time when I answered a blocked number, it went one of the three ways I mentioned above. The other half of the time... well honestly, the other half of the time I would receive demoralizing, and utterly deflating cruelty. I'd answer blocked numbers and have teenagers making prank phone calls. I'd have men breathing in my ears. I'd have people scream "WHORE!" when I answered. I'd have the sound of men jerking off. I'd have people calling with disgusting - and I mean DISGUSTING - requests. These calls would sometimes reduce me to tears. It was very hard to pick back up and put a smile on my face. The cruelty that can exist out there is staggering, and in my experience, these cruel assholes hide behind a blocked number. They're not going to expose themselves when they make these kind of calls. I've posted in the past about the main reason I left being an SP for a while, and went to an MA, but the phone calls are a big part of it as well. WHen I was an MA, there was someone else taking the calls. I didn't have to expose myself to those creeps. Yes, that also meant I didn't get to communicate with the true gentlemen out there. But my brain needed that break for a while. When I was able to come back, I set myself some limits in order to keep myself safe, and sane, in the business. And one of those things was to never, ever, answer a blocked number. And by doing that, I've almost eliminated those cruel, prank phone calls. So I do hope you can understand that it's not at all being rude by not answering those calls. But in this business, we need to set up barriers in order to stay safe, and for me at least, this is one of the things I do.

The city clearly defines "Escort" as very different from "PROSTITUTE" so don't get this confused! Basically the city tries to trick prostitutes into thinking they need a license where it is actually ILLEGAL under canadian law to license prostitution but because we use the more polite word "escort" the city sees this as an opportunity to abuse the laws and exploit this word in favor. Anyone caught advertising as a "Escort" in the city is scared into leaving or scared into paying for this license... where if in the ad they say "I am not a escort I am a callgirl" or "I am a courtesan" or "I am a prostitute" the city does NOT have a leg to stand in. Now, the license has NOTHING to do with criminal law either. It is a municipal infraction (Like a parking ticket) and the worst they can do is send a collection agency after you to pay your ticket... but they have been known to use police instead of regular bylaw officers to do this dirty work so it really scares the crap out of the ladies who don't know the laws as good as they should. Anyway... as you can see I hate that Winnipeg gets away with this exploitation and if the laws in canada change this year I am afraid cities like Winnipeg once they are allowed to license prostitution will take FULL advantage of it and make the by-laws just horrible.

Interesting you bring this up. We have 6-7 SP's coming to Saint John in the next month or so, don't think we've that many this year so far. I think it probably has to do with the time of year, traveling is much more enjoyable when the weather is nice, I could be wrong. There is a thread active about the poor response to the touring ladies in NB and I fear that the bad feelings about the area will only grow after all of these ladies have passed through in such a short time. You can't really complain about ladies coming this way, but there's no way there won't be a few disappointed SP's after all is said and done. One has already left the area extremely unhappy. I have booked with 1 lady and will try and see 2 if I can, I hope the guys in the area realize what is happening and try do their best to make sure SP's consider this area when touring. I hope it doesn't look like I'm trying to hijack your thread, I realize you are speaking about Sudbury specifically, but I think we have a similar situation.

I agree with Dummpy's answer, to look at from a perspective you drop $$$ 1st visit, and than $$$ 2nd visit and those may only be 1 hour visits. I think your payment really includes a tip.Now, I have gone on record in prior threads, I try to bring flowers on my visits, if the florist is open! as I generally take early morning appointments...(I like to be the first man of the day). I think it really helps the mood when we first meet, and its a nice gesture, woman do like flowers. I have also bought and brought massage oil/sex toy's to the provider and left her with the gifts for the next time, or she can use for herself. I try to remember that meeting a SP is first date, so you try to settle your nerves down by playing with the toys or taking in some compliments about the flowers.
