I find it interesting that no ladies have chosen to respond here. How do you value your a(lone) time? How do you feel about being alone and/or lonely? How do you feel about the attachment we have to our cell phones, laptops, and ipods? Information abhors a vacuum. So, while some specific boards may come and go, I think there will always be an inclination for clients to gather and share local information somewhere on the 'net, and it makes business sense for SPs to interact with clients where they gather. Corrupt practices might appeal to dim-witted board admins, but it's a short-term con that inevitably erodes trust and damages the longer-term investment of the site itself. Given the value of anonymity on both sides in this industry, risking users' trust is an incredibly dumb move. Such places will weed themselves out naturally, and be replaced by somewhere people trust and value.

Like anything they'll come and go, but a necessity? Not imo, we could do fine without them:) They have their positive aspects and negative. There will always be those out to destroy others, and review forums are the perfect place, so is the internet in general. People love gossip, will listen to it, believe and play into without doing any research, it appears. If a hobbyist tells another," this girl is bad" well ... If posts are made that "she is a star", well... Sadly, too many believe hype, what is written and not enough put more value into finding out for themselves, believing what they see not just what they hear. I have always felt that this is a very personal, private business and it should be kept between those engaging but that is not what's popular apparently so even I've had to change my way of thinking and follow the rest:( I think they are here to stay and will only multiply, but that's just my opinion:)

Loneskater, I agree with what you are saying. I think however, it is important to each donate to a charity you feel comfortable supporting. Instead of waiting for someone to say "hey, drop off your toys at xxx place", do it and donate where you live. This way, the children get their donations, and in the end, it has nothing to do with "where" it comes from.

Just read this thread for the first time and all I could think was WOW. The Kijiji ad seemed to come out of nowhere. Still, I opted to try out this facility North of Arlington. The operators are TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) practitioners. It's not what what we would call a "happy" place. The quality of the full body massage was surprisingly good and competent. Hmm, I wouldn't say I'm an overly confident person in general, but I do try to do my job well and I think it's shown over time. Same thing with hobbies. So I wouldn't say that I go around promoting myself but I also don't think I surprise people when I do good work on a job or activity. I'd say in terms of being vocal it comes down more to when I feel passionate about something. Alcohol isn't a prescribed drug, though, so you can't compare the two. We don't see a fuss over smoking cigarettes or taking other prescribed medications. Would a Mountie in uniform be allowed to inject himself with insulin? Doesn't that technically project a "bad" image? What about psychiatric medications? He doesn't necessarily need to smoke on the job, though. There are oral medications that he could be prescribed for when he is on the job (Nabilone/Cesamet and Dronabilone/Marinol). He is on administrative duties, so impairment at work is not really an issue. I am glad this is creating conversations on PTSD in the workplace.

In my early 30's I spent the better part of a year alone. I worked and interacted but socially I mostly retreated.
