10 pointsTwo things about freedom of speech... First: freedom of speech does not imply freedom from consequences of your speech (although those consequences are also subject to the law). Legal consequences are not censorship. Second: the right to freedom of speech does not imply any right to be listened to or published. Declining to publish or give a platform to someone else's speech, for whatever reason, is not censorship. These things often get lost whenever free speech comes up. When a corporate bigwig says something objectionable and finds that his company is subject to a publicity disaster and that the result of this is that his resignation becomes necessary, people yell about censorship - but that's just consequences. When a student body (or part of it) objects strenuously to being addressed by a person whose views they disagree with, that might be both contemptible closed-mindedness on their part and a contemptible lack of balls on the part of the schools that kowtow to it... but it isn't censorship. As for Charlie Hebdo... they may have been objectionable, and they may have frequently broken the unwritten golden rule of satire (punch up, not down), but the massacre at their office has simply illustrated the feeble-mindedness of a couple of thin-skinned murderers.

6 pointsJoking about drugging and raping real people is hardly the same as political and social satire... being subject to a discipline hearing under the code of conduct of a university is not the same as being shot at your desk as you work or for that matter being flogged by the King... this is not about the veracity of the debate it is not about burning books it is about it is about terrorist and murder and being accountable for your own behavior.... we can have free speech but it comes with responsibly and accountability. 6 pointsI thought I had addressed that with my first post in this thread. The short version: the events in France are primarily about the rule of law and the repudiation of murder as a recourse when offended or trying to control the behaviour of others. That the trigger was the expression of an idea is important, and also worth discussing, but secondary. It's because I value the rule of law that I'm Charlie, not because I think all speech at all times is sacrosanct. Re. Dalhousie: the hateful expressions by the male dental students were ugly and miserable but legal, otherwise we'd be talking about jail or fines for the offenders. Nobody is calling for jail or fines. But the students were in violation of some additional standards to which they were were subject: the codes of conduct of the university itself, and the professional standards of various Colleges of Dental Surgeons. It's under those standards that the students are being assessed. Violating the former has several possible penalties, including expulsion. Violating the latter has several possible penalties, including being denied the privilege of practicing in that College's province. The students knew these risks when they engaged in their behaviour, although they seem foolishly to never have considered that they might be found out and judged for their actions. Now, I think, they know better.

5 pointsYou really have to be kidding... you are comparing a group of men being held accountable by a University to a Code of Student Conduct (which they agreed to when they enrolled) and potentially being held accountable by the professional licensing bodies of their chosen profession with people standing in unison worldwide to say that free speech issues should never be settled through terrorist attacks and murder. Comparing murders with administrative punishment is just plain unbelievable in my opinion. We certainly can all debate if the satirical cartoons were in good taste or appropriate... we can even pursue recourse though any administrative means that might exist but no its not alright with to fire bomb or shoot people we disagree with. 4 pointsThis was from January 8th, I have been cleared by my physician after my very long time away healing/recovering from surgery that I have been putting off for too long but I'm strong, healthy and doing very well. I'm oh so ready to make 2015 one memorable year! It's great to be back and I am looking forward to some amazing times! Hugs, Lexy

3 pointsHi everyone I am currently touring in Maritime , I came before Christmas and I really enjoy my time with eastern gentlemen :) But I would like to share one of disappointment about something . I am touring often and for years now & it never been a major problem ... And I been really disappointed about my current trip in Moncton . I hear in the past people are not reliable here but I decide to give a chance and try it , what I did this weekend. I am really disappointed because I took my time to book gentlemens who request an appointment . After we all confirm and give my hotel they never show up .. Not One , all of them for both day I was here .. My only word I want say please if you book an appointment and you cannot make it please just let me now or just don't book, I rather prefer to know you can't make it , then getting ready for nothing or maybe missed another appointment . My time is valuable as yours... Have a wonderful week everyone and thank you for the gentleman respect ours appointment in Fredericton it much appreciate I had wonderful time as usual xoxo Maxime

3 pointsIf one of the female students targeted by the Dalhousie "gentlemen" had pulled out a gun and shot those men in response to their writings would that be ok? It's a matter of perspective. Some people obviously think mocking a religious leader is as abhorrent an act as killing a cartoonist. I think we should fight pen and paper with like weapons. Not with gun and bullets. Therefore the Dalhousie students are getting off easy (the hearing won't be completed til after grad) and the cartoonists got completely fucked over. My personal opinion.

3 pointsLooking for your very own tropical experience? Step into my HOT SPA and have a small taste of paradise! Relaxation begins the moment we set our eyes on each other. The Cuban sun has left his kiss on my skin, golden and soft. I maintain my mini spa with a warm environment, nice décor, cold and hot beverages (try my Hot Yoga Tea!) Always fresh and clean with delicate aroma to enhance your experience. Light background music to set the pace. Why do I call it a Hot Spa Experience? First we begin with some nice chats, taking time to enjoy each others conversation. Perhaps a Hot Yoga Tea, specialty tea to send warmth all throughout your body. Lay on my table, and I will use my hot stones from top to bottom. Warmth that penetrates down deep. Then strategically placed to unblock pent up energy. We can change rooms into a relaxing lounge area, and learn more about each others mind, body and soul. Complete this with a hot and steamy shower in my walk in shower. This is a 90 min session. To learn more about me and my services please view my website. This is assist you in making any informed booking. http://www.ladysophiaclassic.com/ 506 261 7313 My hours: Monday- Friday 9am-430pm occasionally evening session for 45 min massage only. 3 points"The Best" is ALWAYS subjective. It's just like beauty, it's in the eye or experience of the beholder.
-
3 pointsNo kissing feels weird except if it's a massage session. I'm definitely a kisser and a damn good one too! lol No kissing to me or a kiss on the cheek upon greeting is like someone letting you have only one potato chip and not another. So I'm sending my intention out to the universe to all the kissers... until then.
-
3 pointsSo sorry that happened to you and those who did it should be ashamed of themselves. They are going to burn their own bridges. Any guy who does this is an immature thoughtless douche bag, but that's just my opinion. This is why some don't tour and certainly why some don't go to some cities. Sometimes cancellations can be understood, as things can happen, but to not show up or call is just thoughtless!

2 pointsI have let Jess know that if her photos turn out to be fake (reported to me as a first hand experience with her) she will be banned for life from here. Just so everyone knows, if you show up and her photos are fake just turn around and leave and let us know. Don't "SETTLE" and give anyone money for time if you are bait and switched. If this happens enough they will stop or leave the business.

2 pointsI swear by my Surface Pro, I was given it as a birthday gift last year and absolutely love the machine. (If he is reading this THANKS!) It is definitely my first choice now though I use the keyboard a lot and wouldn't use it as just a tablet. I do like that I have options with it though. Recently I was in a 3 day seminar, over 12hrs of lectures every day and taking notes was quite tiring. I loved that I could switch it up, typing for a few hours, using the stylus to hand write notes and for the few lecturers that would allow it recording the session. If I was handwriting 36hrs of notes on a weekend I would have been icing my hand by Monday morning.

2 pointsThe protein should never be an issue if you are eating properly but many people do not. Many people are consume more protein than their body requires. Still being vegetarian or vegan it isn't a lifestyle I expect everyone to switch to but yes it is quite healthy, I think one just has to look at the changes in Clinton to see what it can do for ones heart. Really I mentioned it because in going vegetarian/vegan it taught me a lot of healthy habits that I think others can incorporate in their life simply by checking labels, being aware of what their body needs and how they consume it and making better choices when snacking. :) Oh and as for Raw, while I know people that say they are doing quite well on a raw diet I am not a supporter of eating 100% raw. Cooking food helps to break down cell walls and can often increase the amount of nutrients available to us. Still like everything I believe it should all be in moderation, eat some raw, eat some cooked, eat some brownies or drink wine once in awhile. You can find some benefit in most everything if you look for it and don't over do it. 2 pointsCharlie lampooned everyone, politicians, the Pope, celebrities. So why was it not a Catholic who shot them? Why was it not Angela Merkel? Tom Cruise? Some of us accept our shortcomings and can laugh at ourselves. Others are so insecure and filled with self loathing their only reply is violence.

2 pointsBut what's the principle we're expressing by saying "Je suis Charlie"? a) "All speech must be allowed in all circumstances without consequence." b) "No matter how dire your grievance may seem to you, you don't get to murder people over it." Rex is drawing conclusion a) and complaining that people haven't been following that principle across the board in the past. But I think Rex is wrong and I think a) is wrong (for reasons I've already explained). I think the principle at play here is b). And if we're talking about b), then I agree... 365 days a year.

2 pointsI recently had a former client friend-request me on my personal Facebook because we had a mutual friend. I found it highly inappropriate and somewhat disturbing. I promptly blocked him and it is safe to say I would no longer be comfortable seeing him as a client, were he to contact me again. If you see a lady outside of the workplace, whether it be in person or on social media, pretend you didn't. It is a game we all play for the sake of discretion. I have no illusions as to how private, or public my identity may be, but as members of this community, I think we can all agree to be cordial and limit our interactions to the hobby space, unless both parties indicate otherwise. That said, there are circumstances where relationships formed in the hobby can migrate into the rest of our lives. If you and your client/lady maintain contact outside of the hobby, it is up to you how to handle chance meetings etc. But if you only connect with your lady/client for the purposes of hobbying, then take care not to make any assumptions, no matter how friendly your client/lady may be during appointments.

1 pointIt's surprising how nice and how good a workout you can get from simply snowshoeing. Never tried snowmobiling and cross country skinning though, especially the latter! lol..

I'm someone who is open-minded & enjoys romanance as well as the wild loss of control where chemistry causes a lack of inhibitions and even for those who are more daring... the darker world of fetish, bdsm, role playing & domination etc. I'm a solid 5'7, (5'11 with heals) 36D 26 36 with dark, very long black hair and big blue/green eyes. I invite you to visit my profile to learn more about me and see some of my pix. Planning ahead is recommended but not necessary. I think versatility is the spice of life. So I can be soft and delicate, wild and eager to please, impish and Fun or assertive, domineering and nasty. So don't be shy to tell me what personality-type you want to spend time with and I can tap into that part of my psyche and have a great time doing it. =) I LOVE getting all dressed up and requests are more than welcome. I have a vast array of outfits, (school girl, sexy stripper, romantic lingerie & domina (PVC,Latex etc), regular/secretary) as well as tools for the more daring of adventurers. I aim to please because I want to see you again when I next visit. For those who are interested in such ventures; I am very well versed in this world and have a great selection of equipment/toys/attire etc. As for fetishes, many have been surprised that I was the one girl who actually heard of "it" before =) To see what others have to say about the time they've spent with me, please check out the link below. http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showth...?ltr=J&t=53018 And don't forget you can check out my profile for pics and a bit more about me. 1 pointMeanwhile others have left the comforts of home behind, they have travelled to the other side of the world for months and months, sometimes years. Going to dangerous places where evil people roam free and prey upon others. Trying to come between those evil ones and stop them from hurting others. Getting shot at, driving over roads that have land mines. Seeing friends injured, killed, knowing it could happen to them. They come back. They look like everyone else. You wil never know them. But they have done and seen things you cannot imagine. Do not make so many assumptions about everyone else.

1 pointI think that's the only reason for censorship: hatred and fear of what someone has to say, and the root cause of that is generally the censor's own insecurity and lack of counter-argument. And yeah... book burning does lie down that road. Those who are confident in their own beliefs and arguments are usually very happy to be challenged and to take on any opponents that appear. They understand that this is the only way to make your own arguments stronger. And, ultimately, there is acceptance of a fundamental fact: if you seek to convince other people that you're right, you must also be prepared to be convinced that you're wrong, and to change your position accordingly. Unfortunately we all tie our own sense of self-worth up with our opinions to some extent, and so this can be very hard indeed...
-

1 pointI have never dieted in my life but I have been vegetarian or vegan since I was just a wee thing so there is that. The one thing I can say about it is how it taught me to watch what I eat, because I am always having to check labels for ingredients I am also looking at what vitamins and nutrients I am getting. Another huge benefit has been when I travel, as a frequent traveller I don't have the option to cook for myself most nights. When I am with friends they may stop at Starbucks and grab a cake with their coffee but my options are far more limited so I usually just grab a banana. Same thing if we are driving somewhere, they can stop at the rest stop and grab a Mc D's burger but I will end up in the rest stop store picking with an apple and maybe some nuts or a Clif bar if I want some munchies. It forces me to eat smarter, to pick out the fruit and vegetables rather than what is just convenient.

1 pointI think this thread is kinda sweet, and funny too! I did not get married, I am back in school for the moment. I took a year off to recover from some health issues, and after some much needed healing, decided to go back to school to complete my degree. I miss all the lovely moments I was able to share with you awesome people, and miss all the amazing women in this community also. I have decided to bring back the Sweetest Massages in May, when I am done with my schooling. I am eagerly anticipating reconnecting with all you amazing people and meeting the new members of our community also... Please feel free to email me at [email protected] if you would like to be notified of my return, thinking of doing a pop-up or two before I decide if I will be independent again, or work from one the amazing spas we are so lucky to have here in the capital. Big hugs to y'all, miss you lots, looking forward to seeing you soon! Bethany Xoxox

1 pointOppal also stated that the criminal regulation of prostitution contributes to the marginalization of women. I wonder if Harper would ever respond to that! Also, this article is very, very, VERY misleading. The inquiry was rejected by the families and many groups affected by the inquiry. These responses also fail to acknowledge or consult with special interest groups and/or families of these women...unless of course they support the criminalization of sex work. Funny how that works. And check out this post by a criminal defense lawyer: "Buried deep within the new bill is an amendment to the Criminal Code that would allow anonymous evidence to be introduced in court, limit disclosure of information to an accused, and curtail cross examination. In short the Victims Bill of Right creates a made-in-Canada Star Chamber (Note: the Star Chamber was a secret court - abolished in 1641 - used as a political weapon which became synonymous with abuse of power)" (http://www.michaelspratt.com/law-blog/victims-bill-of-rights-the-poison-pill) Can Harper just stop already? Grrrrr
