9 pointsCongratulations WrinkledinTime! I am thrilled that you have won this award. Your contributions to our community are invaluable as are your patience, thoughtfulness and fair-mindedness. Helping us understand the laws; regional changes in licensing; arrests, prosecutions and convictions is vital. The time and care you devoted to analyzing the Himel decision re: Bedford v. Canada resulted in a masterwork whose clarity is unrivalled, anywhere. Our debates over potential law reforms can, at times, become fraught with anxiety; your aptitude for calming fears while cutting through the extraneous worry and suspicion to get to the heart of what matters is inspiring. I want to extend my appreciation for everyone who was nominated for the men's and ladies' awards, and for all who voted with goodwill in good faith. The members who gave their best efforts to sort out confusion and to contain hurt feelings deserve everyone's regard. Other boards have attempted and failed to do what Cerb does very well: to create a space where paid companions and our admirers can come together not only to flirt with and entice each other, but also to develop a genuine recognition of the realities, needs and the challenges we face in our respective roles. The sex industry is an exotic carnival of delight, fuelled by primal desires and the unspoken longings, passion and darkness of human hearts. Consequently, while women's participation is essential, women's safety is never guaranteed. The sex trade is unquestionably dangerous for us. I believe that most men do not want to hurt anyone. In meeting with an escort, massage provider, dancer, model or other worker, men seek pleasure. Only the aberrant fringe takes pleasure in frightening others; even fewer relish violence. Nonetheless, when expectations are unmet; when anxieties run high; when a considerable amount of money may be involved; and when broken human beings find their vulnerabilities laid bare, the potential for a mutually satisfying encounter can go sideways with disastrous results. I am part of this community because I want to do what I can to mitigate against the disasters that ignorance and misunderstanding produce. Women's safety is my biggest concern. Only women who work in our industry have any idea of what it's like to do what we do, to be who we are and to manage the often competing interests in our lives. Communities that foster healthy relationships between paid companions and appreciation between companions and clients are vital ways to help companions stay safe and sane. We cannot remind each other too often that clients and companions basically want the same thing: to have pleasure in mutually rewarding ways. I want to extend my appreciation to Erotic Emily who was caught up in a whirlwind not of her making which she could not control even as she became a lightning-rod for some of the conflicts that are always part of a community. Emily is a beautiful woman who has much to offer her clients and to Cerb. My concern is that the events of the last week have isolated her radically from the community. I am very sorry that this happened to her. While there are good reasons for agency workers to be excluded from the private, SP-only area of this board, one of the major pitfalls of this division is that it is much harder for the independent ladies to give the agency ladies the full support and care that we extend to each other. Whether from being disregarded or from being placed on a pedestal, nothing is more dangerous for a companion than isolation. I hope Emily will accept my word when I say that the overwhelming majority of the independent companions here have expressed nothing but concern and support for her. We all look forward to getting to know her and to hearing her views and experiences. Finally, my thanks go to everyone who nominated me, voted for me, and supported me, publicly and in PMs. I feel blessed by your affection, care and respect.

5 pointsGreetings fellow CERBians. I speak to you today, not as your president (we don't have one), not as the most popular member (that ship has sailed)... just as a guy who cares about this place. We have found ourselves over the past few days witnessing our own version of 9/11. We have endured and are enduring a crisis of the value of membership, the value of participation and the value of being who we are. Let's not quibble over the purpose of this site. It is an Escort Recommendation Board. That's what the big banner in the top left corner says. We all joined for one of two reasons. Either we are a consumer and as such wish to interact with providers, read recommendations and then book appointments with said provider(s) OR we are providers and as such wish to interact with our clients, provide consumer information about availability, prices and services, and ultimately book appointments to provide services to the consumer. Bare bones, that's what this site is all about. We have become a community as a result of the tireless efforts of the many. That community is in jeopardy as a result of the capricious efforts of the few. This is NOT an us against them, penis vs vagina, male vs female community. Some have tried to turn it into that. None of us should be using this community to exert POWER. It is not about politics, it is not about any kind of "ism." This community is at its absolute BEST when we treat each other as equals and enjoy playful banter without being stigmatized. I suggest that we have two camps that wish to fight a small battle regardless of the innocent casualties incurred. While I see the merits in both arguments, THIS IS NOT A BATTLEGROUND NOR IS IT A PLACE TO FORWARD YOUR OWN POLITICAL AGENDA. I still have hope that we can return to what we once were, that we can again become a lively community where no one will fear causing offence to others. My CERB will always be a welcoming place where people can have naughty fun; it is my hope that yours can and will be as well. OD 10/9/11 @1:34 pm

3 pointsI am only half way thru the thread, but if I may just suggest here, that perhaps the voting is more about teaching a lesson to the sps for questioning certain things not just about the nominations but about what the poll was meant to be for. Really something just seems off about this. I think that she became a symbol, yes, but not for those reasons, that's all. It really seemed to be a mean spirited way of sticking it to the long term true contributors. Anyone can post ads and send pretty notes. In fact, anyone can, it doesn't actually have to be the sp herself who does any of that, its all marketing. But to come out and post publically, voice an opinion, rant or rave about something, show a true personality and not just a fawning or soothing one (god forbid something said hurts business kind of mealy mouthed mumblings lol), that is someone worth voting for. That is someone who furthers the policies and personality of what cerb is all about. There are a lot of advertising sites, let the ones who are solely concerned about advertising and marketing themselves shine on those sites, and let this one reward the ones who don't shy away from controversy or silliness. note: as I say, I posted this mid-thread, and since have read a number of postings. Nothing changes my belief that Emily was an unfortunate pawn in a rather unpleasant attempt to make the award potentially meaningless. Further posts simply confirm this, that's all. I think in light of the controversy I would have been really swayed from this had Emily withdrawn herself, rather than come to the point of her being removed. That would have impressed me. I don't blame her for being nominated, with nothing posted and less than 2 months here, no reputation whatsoever. I am not impressed by the long term members who chose to re-interpret the rules of the award to nominate someone who really had nothing to show why she should be nominated and why anyone should be voting for her. That is the point people seem to deliberately want to ignore. How on earth, other than by kind of shady means, does someone with zero history here, get to a place where they have as many votes as a long term respected reputable and valuable CONTRIBUTOR on this site. That that other nominees may have had a few arguments along the way, does that account for the multitude of votes for an unknown nominee? Someone turned this poll into a joke, it wasn't Emily, it wasn't any of the other top 4 contenders. It wasn't Emily who put her name on this list, and it wasn't Emily running around pming other members to let them know about the poll and to come and vote. Makes one wonder, that's all, was there an agenda here? People who knew full well what this kind of poll was for put her there. They knew it was a recogniition of real board contributions, and would obviously be for a long term sp member with a public presence that everyone would have gotten to know. I find that very disappointing that someone would choose this poll for this kind of thing.

3 pointsEnough already...no more speculations, or arguing ..this has been beat to death..people are going to do,say what they want anyway...so enough. Enough damage has been done. So let's all move on to brighter and better things.

2 pointsI believe in boobies, Harvey's hamburgers, and small block Chevy V8 engines. I believe in gin in the summer and scotch in the winter. I believe in free universal health care, the infield shift and the continuous regeneration of an Irish liver. I believe in doing what's right, not what's easy. I believe Bob Dylan, Jack White and Mick Jagger are the musical equivalent of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The Beatles were apostles and the Eagles; Judas. I believe that the "state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation," and that what happens between two or more consenting adults should not bother anyone else. Nor is it anyone's business what you smoke, snort or swallow in the privacy of your own home as long as you are being responsible. Roasted veal stock is a miracle liquid. The only sound I respond to more than a cork popping is a aroused moan escaping from a set of lascivious lips. If you have to wake up before 5, you might as well just stay up. I believe in apologizing when you're wrong. I believe that a lady comes first, whether through a doorway or in the bedroom. I believe in long wet sloppy blowjobs, morning-after sex and heads banging off headboards. There's nothing sexier than a woman telling you she'll "think of you" next time she masturbates. And little less sexy than a man saying that to a woman. If you are a Yankees fan we probably can't be friends. It's easier to be friendly than spiteful although grudges are easy to keep and hard to reverse. I believe in occasionally pushing past your limits to see what you can really do, that organization is the enemy of creativity and that "somewhere along the line we seem to have confused comfort with happiness." Wrinkle-free shirts are a godsend and french cuffs are a cheap way to experience luxury. I believe in aisle seats and no checked luggage. Skinny jeans for guys, cell phones in pockets and laptops are going to have dramatic effects on sperm counts. "I believe in nothing, Lebowski!" We all pay for sex at some point; some of us just don't recognize the exchange. Never self identify as a Deadhead, Phishhead or a Parrothead. Nothing is as bad as it seems, until it happens to you. It's not a good album if it's not better in the car, although everything's better on vinyl. NEVER COOK BACON NAKED. I believe in blues based rock and the Bo Diddley Beat. I believe in the Best Bums thread, the Redhead Appreciation Group and the "Variation on the favourite song threads" thread. I believe in the oxford comma, two spaces after a period, and the futura font. I believe in breakfast beers, brunch caesars and two cocktail lunches. If you agree with everything in this post, you're a liar. If you believe in 80% you're probably nuts. But that's ok, because I believe in respectful debate. Finally, I believe that CERB is the best board of it's kind, and I believe that time and patience will heal all wounds.

2 pointsCongrats again to SamanthaEvans and WrinkledinTime for winning the members choice vote. I have added your award icons for the winners and will pick away at the nomination icons as I find time (as we had a lot of people nominated in this one) I really wish we did not have all the drama associated with this every time so I think this will be the last VOTE in this way. Maybe in the future the council will pick a member to award or come up with a better solution. We want to keep the board positive and this is suppose to help strengthen the community we have here (Not tear it apart).

2 pointsYour name in the industry is your "brand" - the more unique you can be the more brand potential you have. Why would anyone want to be someone else?

2 pointsForty-five minutes seems about perfect to me, I'm not that interesting. I mentioned in another thread that sometimes I've received 45 minute sessions without even requesting them. Peace MG

2 pointsI would note that there are many political candidates that have run for office and won, and if you look at what the criteria for an appropriate candidate should be, many would not likely meet that criteria. Think of all the NDP candidates in the Province of Quebec (opening a political land mine) this last election. It would be hard to consider a lot of them legitimate candidates, yet the electoral voted them in, and we accepted the results. You can disagree with the outcome, and have a different view but would you really agree that the candidate should have been pulled from the race, hardly, but this is what happen here. I have heard too many people whine about Emily not meeting the criteria and should not have been nominated in the first place, and should not have been voted on because she was not the best choice. The nominations were the nominations, the votes were the votes. If she did not meet the criteria in the first place, a decision before the poll should have been made, not afterwards. To my knowledge there was no real breach of the rules along the way (if an SP had a bunch of SP friends and they were all on the board and voted for the SP nominated, would that really be any different?). Just a bunch of people who think their interpretation of the rules, are absolute.
-
2 pointsYou are very correct RG, I use a work verification ONLY if I feel I need more information (no reference, no board posts, no nothing). I do not feel I am asking for anything out of the ordinary. At the end of the day you cant put a price on your life. Someone who wants to cause a problem, wants to give as little detail as possible and basically come across as invisible. Even years ago when I manages a few ladies, I took the time and screened for them - that was the BEST thing I could ever do for them and the ladies thanked me for it . All ladies have some clients they will not see, if you dont screen even with the basics, how is that respecting the woman that works for you when you send her clients that she is not comfortable seeing? Not all agencies are bad, some even respect the ladies that work with them.... I know of 2 agencies in Toronto who have been more than helpful in providing me with references for gentlemen in the past, but they are the ONLY ones I will ever accept and agency reference from.
-
2 pointsOk. Here goes. (wincing) I'm going to do something I've been really scared to do since it's happened. But I'm going to brave and speak up. The fact that true contributors to this board are neck and neck with Erotic Emily is negating the whole point of the Poll and Award. In no way am I attacking you Emily. You are obviously a sweet, friendly, sexy and enthusiastic member here. But to win this award, it needs to go to someone who publically shares their thoughts, musings and opinions so that we all benefit. That was this award is about. To honour the people on here who have put in the time to share with all of us, their struggles, triumphs or even just questions. From my understanding, you haven't been on here long enough to have had time to do any of this. Your private flirtings and advertisements should not, in my opinion, garner as many votes as some of the women on here who we feel we know and can trust from their time here with us. This could certainly come for you with time, but perhaps your nomination should have been held over until you've allowed yourself the time to get to know all of us, not just potential clients. Make sense? We all welcome you to cerb with open arms Emily, but to bear the seal of Favourite Service Provider, you deserve more time to truly earn it. :)
-
2 pointsWell I am glad to know that. For me, my criteria for voting is for those who make real contributions to the board: lounge posting, thoughtful comments, funny stories, passion for this industry, classy, commited, and also very very supportive of those of us involved in providing. It's because I get to "know" them that i want them to know I appreciate what they have done to help make this such a nice place to visit. I am sure that that is what this kind of voting is all about, yes? To acknowledge the real contributions of the ladies, rather than say a popularity contest or just a pretty face? Nice to give thanks to someone who takes the time to share their thoughts, is what I'm getting at here, lol.

1 pointI had the pleasure of meeting a brand-new masseuse named Melia-Rae over the weekend. Gorgeous, hot, and sweet. Beautiful face, amazing body, nice d-cup breasts, firm shapely bum...Lovely, lovely, lovely. with long straight natural red hair. Nice technique, sensual body slides, great finish. The redhead of my dreams, in person. You can do reverse massage. Within the normal massage limits, it's all positive. Here's her link: http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/member.php?u=55690 Melia is an indie, so you can contact her through cerb. I have edited the post, with apologies for an unintentional error. I should have said the usual rules on touching, not restrictions.

1 pointThe League of Insignificant Male Prostitutes (LIMP) stands proudly (more or less) with ERECT. We just hope your organization doesn't prove as ineffective as the Federation of Loosely Affiliated Canadian Cuddly Intimate Dudes (FLACCID)

1 pointI like how roamingguy was able to maintain grace in the face of defeat in the much talked about, controversial members choice poll :p
-
1 pointI would say pay them no mind. There are many "original" "legit" ladies who you can find on CERB and Escorts-Canada to choose from that you don't even need to worry about the copycats. Copycats, scammers and fly-by-nights are all part of this and many other types of business. Trying to figure out why is like hitting your head against a brick wall. Who knows why people do what they do. If in doubt, check the diary. That's what it's there for. http://www.cowboysdiary.info/

1 pointCongratulations to SamanthaEvans and WrinkledinTime for their win. The bizarre process this year should in no way take away from the great contributions of these two members for our community. In fact, perhaps now more than ever we need good Ambassadors to guide us as we move forward and I expect we have two such positive spirits. For those who recognized me for my modest contributions I am truly touched. I humbly get more out of CERB than I put in and am so grateful for what you've all brought me. Thanks. Cub

1 pointYes Barbs is getting really good again. I know that the two sisters work there...one is named Raven beautiful natural woman. Tiffany is really a doll and has a great smile. I like the way she dances on stage and gives you those little winks and smiles. Amazing bum. perfect, so seductive. A personal favorite is Kristen or Kirsten? Does anyone know how you pronounce it? She was there on Saturday with a beautiful long white dress. She looks so elegant and womanly. Her dances are really warm. She has a natural body and really seems to get engaged. I could not wait to get into the champagne room with her. She knows how to dress to be elegant and seductive. Barbs is really a great place for beautiful woman. Easy to fall in love.

1 pointI would not consider Mother Theresa someone to be admired. I don't want to hijack the thread, so rather than explaining here, you can just PM me if you're curious as to why.

1 pointMaybe after I get to know the lady a bit. As I said in another thread, anything shorter than an hour, especially for the first couple visits, seems artificially short.

1 pointThe Sp awards poll was closed finally!!!! and Samantha won! :) congratulations Samantha!Well deserved you are a great contributor to this board! :) and very deserving of the award!

1 pointMay I say first of all, that I feel a little like the guy who is the subject of that Playboy joke - you know, I only read it for the articles. Well, it was the articles that attracted me to Nathalie initially, and I have discovered that everything about her is equally stimulating. We had corresponded for quite a while prior to my trip to Ottawa and we had commented a great deal on each others forum contributions. It was clear that she and I are truly from different worlds - experiences, interests, geographies, and in so many other things, but those differences are as intriguing and fascinating as any other experience that I have had with my Cerb involvement. Nathalie and I spent a great deal of time together in Ottawa over a period of two days. Honestly I was a bit nervous of having planned so much time with a woman that I had never met and only knew through correspondence and a couple of telephone calls. I expect that she was nervous as well, but did not show it, and going into our time together we both felt that all would be wonderful. How correct we were in that assessment. For me, by my own definition, this was probably as close as one can get to a true girlfriend experience within the context of Cerb. She and I biked the Rideau Canal together and had a picnic overlooking the locks. And we talked. A lot. She is an amazing woman who I am so fortunate to have been able to connect with, and she and I shared a great deal with each other about our different worlds. We biked through traffic (Ahhhhh !!!!!!) to her incall location where we had the most incredible makeout session while still sweaty from our biking. A beautiful shower together was the preface to her giving me a Thai massage which is something that she has recently trained in. That was the perfect thing for my old and aching muscles following our strenuous (at least for me) biking jaunt. Dinner and conversation while sitting out on the patio at a delightful Italian restaurant was wonderful and as the time passed we were both more than ready to get the bill and walk back to my hotel. I was thinking about things other than talking when we got in the elevator. Nathalie likes to say herself that she enjoys making out like a teenager and the closing of the elevator doors was the signal. Once in the room the oversize tub was filled to the top and after that, I shall leave anything else to your imagination. In conclusion, and perhaps one should not make the following comment on an individual persons recommendation, but I shall anyway. I have never had anything but a positive encounter since I became involved with Cerb. Every encounter has been different, and my different experiences with Nathalie are ones that I shall treasure. I will see Nathalie again without any question if and when there is an opportunity and I would also love to be able to spend as much time with her as I did this time. I am also equally certain after having met her that a much shorter encounter would leave you with equally positive feelings when you left her presence. Thank you Nathalie for sharing a part of yourself with me in such a delightful and personal way. We shall see what the future holds, but best of luck to you and may it be true that I shall never need a lawyer, but when I do can you be the first one that I call? :)

1 pointI guess that is a no.... I think we should have more than 1 sheet and 1 towel. Additional Comments: Fat Bastards BBM has been invited to join a new organization, that being the Erotic Recreation Enthusiasts Canadian Team (ERECT) We are proud now to announce that all Fat Bastards have joined, and we welcome you to come see all of our ERECT members. The Ottawa Headquarters (near Parliament) will henceforth be known as ERECTION Center (Erotic Recreation Enthusiasts Canadian Team In Ottawa North Center). Now When you think of ERECTION, you will immediately consider our members. ERECT is closely associated with a loose knit federation called (appropriately) the Various Action Groups In North America (VAGINA). We would like to assure you that whenever you see a Fat Bastard/ERECT member, we will be thinking of our long lasting commitment to VAGINA. All ERECT members and many VAGINAs are committed to stamp out the hatemongers calling themselves the Society for an Orgasm Free Toronto (SOFT) and their political wing, the Liturgically Inclined Members of Parliament (LIMP.) Please help us in our cause. If you can't commit fully, any kind of assistance will do... lend a hand to our ERECT members. Thank you.

1 pointI'm very new to CERB and the whole "hobbyist" world. This is in fact my first recommendation :) I joined CERB only a few weeks ago. After figuring out navigation etc., I noticed Megan's Touch had quite a few thoughtful and interesting posts. After checking out her profile, I thought I'd take a chance and PM her. She got back to me right away - I think we seemed to "hit it off" quite well. After some PM/emailing, we set up an appointment. Her location was excellent for me (downtown), and her two-call method of being discreet was excellent. Megan is also very clear about next steps, what's okay and what's not okay, which I appreciated very much, being the newbie to all of this that I am :) I really loved her room set-up - very relaxing. But the absolute best was her smile and her approach - helped me relax (did I say I was nervous?). I must say that I could chat with Megan for hours without one piece of clothing coming off and I'd still be a happy camper :) The appointment was excellent, relaxing and exactly as expected. Megan is drop dead gorgeous - and that smile - did I mention that smile? And her eyes have a way of entrancing you that drives you crazy :) I'll always remember that first appointment with Megan......very nice memories indeed with a very special lady :)

1 pointLexy, From someone who just discovered your private albums I am sorry you have to do this, but it is the right decision. From what I know of you you will someday be very successful in the business world, much like you are in your current occupation. It would be a shame to jeopardize that future success because some slimy SOB can't respect your privacy and your friendship. Don't worry though, I will wait to see your face in person and enjoy it all the more!

1 pointOh boy....this day again! I was on leave with my wife, we were in St Ives, England surfing for two weeks. I had just returned from my second tour of Kosovo only a few weeks before. My wife had decided to go shopping, rather than join me after lunch for some mid afternoon surfing...remember there is a five hour time difference between here and England. I was having a grand old time, the surf was spectacular, it was sunny and warm. I had come off a bit of a wipe out, and was getting ready to turn around and paddle back out to catch another wave, when I could see my wife on the beach frantically waving her arms. I thought to myself, how badly does she want to get a pint...it was mid-afternoon after all! As I got closer to shore, I knew something was seriously wrong. My wife was never the type to panic or freak out over anything, and she had look of terror on her face. She ran out in to the water a few feet to meet me, grabbed me and all she said was " something terrible is happening!". She started to run to the little pub by the beach, I was hopping trying to get my shoes on! By the time I got to the pub, both towers were on fire by this point. I could scarcely believe what I was seeing. We'd been in those towers just a year before on a trip to New York, my Father is an architect and he had taught me to appreciate what a building can mean to a city. Both my wife and I knew this was not an accident, it was all too obvious as to what was happening. As the first tower started to fall, she grabbed me and put her arms around me tighter than she ever had before, she was crying...then she looked up at me and said, "I'll miss you". Her instincts were telling her that we were going to war again...she knew I'd be one of the first to go. My heart goes out to all those who were taken from their loved ones that day. It also goes out to the families who lost their loved ones in the aftermath of 9/11. In Afganistan to date 2,627 Coalition forces have been killed and over 16,000 wounded. 380 killed in Afganistan were from the UK...so many were my friends. This is on top of the 2,977 killed on 9/11 alone and more than 6,000 injured. What a terrible loss of life, what a waste of life. My ex-wife called me this morning just to talk about it, she knew everything we both lost because of 9/11, including each other. I told her, 10 years on and I hope everyone can now put this day to rest, it's time now to move on.
-
1 pointSee you later. I always try to say that as opposed to good-bye. When my mom passed away, my last words to her before she took her last breath was "see you later". That statement is a promise to whoever you say it to.
-
1 pointI have trumpeted the virtues of Isabella before, both publicly and privately, and although I may not go into specifics again that is not to say I can't. She is a wonderful, kind lady who has that certain je ne sai quoi. Although I have yet to have the pleasure of a face to face meeting that is indeed on my coming Christmas list.
-
1 pointI don't think any of the posts where made to "bully" anyone. The way I perceive it is that Soliel is simply posting her opinion. I know her well and she is as far from someone that would bully albeit thru a post as anyone could be. I'm proud of her for posting what I think many girls where thinking. Does that mean feeling this way is right or wrong I don't know. But if people cannot politely post their opinions then the point of Cerb is lost. Cato and Wit have gotten me thinking....I'm nominated and I think it's more from my helping girls behind the scenes or in the lounge rather then a high post count. We are all nominated for various reasons and from what Cato has said clearly she has touched members behind the scenes since joining, perhaps like I have with ( or think I have lol) I'm thankful to Cato for speaking up as we would not have known this otherwise. Good luck to everyone!
