I have been going through a process of late that has given me cause to truly appreciate the time and effort behind the scenes for SP's in organizing their schedules and their dates. In assuming the lead role for the upcoming Halifax Meet an Greet and with great intentions, so far achieved, to just keep it simple I find myself doing a lot of unanticipated work. There was the requirement of starting a new thread, then keeping updates on the thread, and then as a result receiving many many PM's. Most of them were really fun and pleasant to read, but a few others were much less so. "Yeah, I want to come to the social." Or, "Tell me what SP's are coming and then I will decide." Next we come to screening. In this situation I am not concerned about personal safety, but I AM concerned about discretion, about having the people that attend be respectful of everyone and of the environment that we will be in. I want as best as possible to ensure that we have a good mix of good people, so I have been looking at the profiles of those who wish to attend. I looked at their join dates. I looked at their posting history. I read some of their contributions on threads. I asked a couple of my SP friends if they knew some of these particular people and listened to what they said. That all takes time, and then it takes personal contemplative time to come to decisions and make contact again to confirm, and then as we get closer to the event I shall be looking for last minute confirmations because I do have a waiting list. Some people respond quickly and others are slower. With all of this it has brought me to some realizations about the work that SP's do behind the scenes. As a client I can easily see the one hour or the two hour time period that we are in each others company. What I can easily overlook as a client is the time taken by the SP prior to that - PM's back and forth, screening with other SP's, taking time to make the important decision about their personal safety, ensuring that the location is clean and acceptable, the personal grooming prior to a date, the expense of dressing in just that "certain" way, and no doubt many other things that I have not even thought about. So my single solitary little exercise has brought me I think to a greater understanding of all of those other things that SP's do that most of us can easily overlook and not even consider. I have always had great respect for the women that I have met, and now that respect is even stronger having had a small taste of what they do every single day. So a thank you to all of those SP's for doing all of those things, for doing the screening that keeps you safer, and doing all of that for the most part with no recognition of the time that you invest.

Weird as I think partaking in BBFS is the same as playing Russian Roulette... The ending is just not as quick and way more painful and brutal.

Just wanted to congratulate WrinkledinTime for achieving over 100,000 reputation points. Clearly a well deserved and extraordinary milestone and a CERB first! Yes, it true -- If you go to the main page under Top 10 Stats and select reputations it shows an amazing 100,259 at the time of this writing. CERB members come and go, some are a staple and continue to participate. With WIT I have come to rely on his many posts for keeping me informed on news affecting this industry but all his posts are most insightful, helpful and appreciated. Please join me in congratulating him! Oh, and as a bit unusual (as anyone that really knows me knows I am), I call on lurkers that might not have posted before to join me. Make your first post here count by congratulating someone who truly deserves our praise, respect and admiration for his contributions to this wonderful community, I dare you! Maybe you have been reading his wonderful posts for years but are not the type to post here? I just want to point out that coercian is against the laws regarding sex work. If this particular law is not one of the ones up for removal, then it will continue. If this is the case, then NO one will be able to force any sp into providing services to anyone for ANY reason. There won't be any human tribunal cases, or law suits due to discrimination of race, age or religion, because it will all come down to the sp's right to choose her clients. That is a problem for an agency owner, but it isn't really any more problematic than any other rule or restriction an sp will have. She may say cbj only, the agency owner says, oh, but bbbjs are more popular and 80% of our clients want that so you have to provide that. Well, most agency owners don't do that, they respect the restrictions and limitations that the sp have for their own comfort. Maybe an sp doesn't want to see anyone under 25. Whatever the restricition or condition might be, the booker is always going to be facing having to advise the caller of the sp's conditions. I don't know of any good way to let people know about this. I do know that when it is posted about particular sps (or even a group of sps, as I have seen in the past) the reaction is usually mixed. But it is not ever as extreme as we might assume. Many white posters are outraged, and just as many black (or brown!) posters shrug and say, no worries. We don't know this sp's reasons for her choice, but I doubt if she is going to be the only one who brings this up. So maybe having a policy or process for it might be a good thing. In my area, a few years ago, I had many Indo-Canadian callers who asked if I was "ok" with seeing them. Many sps refused or simply didn't answer their calls.

My chat room tip is: don't bombard someone with idle chit chat the moment they enter the room. Personally, this is why I rarely go in, because when I do, I get swamped with private chat requests from people who simply want to ask me about my day. While I do enjoy keeping up with some 'friends' in the chat room, I'm really not there to shoot the shit with everyone about the weather and their work day. It's a great feature to meet people, ask questions, and set up dates. But when it feels like an old-school 'chat room' with strangers just talking about nothing, I bolt.

I have two goddesses today, both of whom have been named in this thread a couple of times already, but who are so worthy of being named again. The first, is Ms. Gabriella Laurence. I had the pleasure of meeting Gabriella this week, and she epitomizes all the qualities of a goddess. Meeting this heavenly creature has been a highlight of my career in this hobby! The second lady I would like to nominate as today's goddess is the wonderful and always sparkling Sophia Varoushka. I have yet to meet Sophia, but plans are definitely in the works to remedy that situation. I always enjoy her posts, which never fail to make me smile and I enjoy the witty and flirty conversations we have. It's good to have things to look forward to, and meeting this wonderful goddess is high on my list.

Just wanted to use this as an "intermission" LOL to thank Meg (yes, one of my Goddesses) for this thread. I can't speak for anyone else, but aside from this thread allowing us to honour the Goddesses that grace this wonderful CERB community, some Goddesses have caught my eye so to speak. Goddesses that I otherwise wouldn't have known about. So thank you Meg for this thread allowing us to honour all the Goddesses out there. And to those Goddesses I have noticed through this thread, and will contact at a future date for an encounter, my apologies. Sending a big hug to Sophia. Hope your pup pulls through okay! I know what you mean about vet bills, my sisters other cat has recently had some medical issues and the bills definitely weren't cheap. I know the vet charges in the U.S. are about half of what they are here in Canada but I don't know what's involved in taking your pets down south to see a vet. I couldn't be a vet either, seeing animals suffer just does not sit well with me and I know I would have a really hard time putting animals down. I can't even watch the humane societies commercials half the time.

Well her reasons could be simple prejudice or something completely different, but what ever they are I respect her right to have them. In particular because this is posted under FS providers, I think it is every woman's choice to see or not see anyone they choose (clients also). Perhaps it isn't at all what it one might think, maybe she had an "African-American" boyfriend who treated her badly and she doesn't need to be reminded of this. Some more mature SPs won't see younger men? Hem, should we complain to the human rights commission based on age discrimination? In an intimate setting, racial prejudice is acceptable to me; (heavens, did I just say that, yes, I did and only because I am both stupid and fearless) but in fact it is the only circumstance under which I will tolerate or stand for it even if I don't agree with it. I think she has the right to discriminate on any bases she chooses (in this case only), most of which would be completely unacceptable under any other circumstance. I also think it is possible to not be prejudice but not believe in or be comfortable with inter-racial couples (when one of them is you).

Thank you for posting this, Nathalie. I have been a big fan of that article for over a year, I believe, and have shared it with many of my friends and acquaintances. I'm so glad you have it and thought to post it on CERB. I have a feeling there are quite a few introverts in our community. I think being an introvert can be a wonderful thing, and not something to be fixed. I wouldn't try to change this aspect of myself. I'm glad that people are recognising more and more that it is just a different way of relating to the world. Being introverted has its own strengths and advantages, just as being an extrovert does. Lots of people dress to impress and I think generally people like to be noticed. Now it is a whole other matter about someone coming up and making a comment, especially if it is directed to a single body part. In life, compliments are something that people find very satisfying and is often the greatest form of flattery. So, you would probably be okay saying, "I love your outfit", but not okay to say "great ass", even though you may be thinking the same thing. We don't get into too much trouble what goes on in our mind, but sure can when we open our mouths.
