Its commonplace to here negative stories and aspects of our line of work, escorting/providing. What it can do to "womanhood", how we are homewreckers, that its demoralizing, sinful, the cause of other crimes, blah, blah, blah! So I wanted to state some positive! This business has allowed me to become independent, completely so.:) Its greatly increased my self esteem. Actually, believe it or not its caused me to be more careful about my eating habits. Having to be naked often, causes me to eat less and more carefully than I would if I knew I'd never have to expose myself:) It allows me to be completely uninhibited, has taught me a lot about my own body and sex. I've also learned a lot of very positive things about men and their bodies;). It satiates my high drive, causes me to exercise more than I would normally. As an introvert I probably wouldn't have met the amount of really great people I've met had I chosen another line of work. I am a much more confident and carefree person because of this business. Probably more empathetic as well:) Yes there have been some rough times and some minor bumps but that would happen in any line of work I suspect. All in all my choice to provide has been a beneficial and a happy and positive experience :)

I understand we all have choices here when it comes to how we set up our profile pages and who we allow to view them. But if I allow you to peek at mine shouldn't I be allowed to peek at yours?:) I find it annoying when I go to thank someone who's visited my page only to see they've blocked me from doing so. Uh...ok? Firstly, from MY personal experience: when times were slow here in Vancouver, every once in a while over the last 6 years, I have applied for a variety of jobs within my level of experience. I have hospitality, government, factory, sales experience & am fluent in both official languages. I always hold an updated resume; well done, spelled correctly everywhere: (you know, you're as opposed to your when I mean you are) I have always specified on my resume that my escort experience has been on the phones, booking appointments, screening, etc. NOT actual calls. Until I changed the wording of the resume to indicate ONLY the Sales, Booking, Advertising, Time Management, what have you of this job, ALL true, I was placated at best, sometimes discounted outright. FLAT OUT, this business has a stigma. Like it, don't like it. Whatever. But deal with it, because it is the the truth. To anyone who feels that their, ( not there ) SP resume is of no consequence to any future employment in the private, non sex-trade sector, I invite you to give it a go now. The more I read in this thread and others about other 'erbs' as they are being called, the more glad I am that this is the first site I stumbled on in my search. So I guess in a roundabout way that is my endorsement to keep things the same. (not that it means much, since I've been here all of 3 weeks or so) But I do have to say the thing that interested me and keeps me coming back is the participation by the SP's on this site; learning about the ladies personalities and backgrounds etc. is fascinating to me, and has opened my eyes to the fact that there is a lot more to an SP and the lifestyle than what I learned from TV & movies. Consider this a cautionary tale... I have been declined positions pouring coffee, answering phones and cleaning houses in the not so distant past because I was outed as a "former" sex worker which popped up when my government name was googled. I've been told I'm "unemployable" and can't even volunteer my time with any reputable charities that aren't sex work related. One never knows what the future will bring and the stigma will be there whether your life is going well or not. If a provider ends up in front of a judge, potential employer or landlord who know their history or their present; it's a high probability that it isn't going to end well. One of my good friends is a Sp and she was 19 now 21 and she was set up by the LE and they came to her house with 4 cops and asked if she was being "pimped out" they searched her place looking for anoyone else and found no one. They said they were just making sure that she was safe and making sure she wasnt being forced into it. Other than that they didn't care about the situation. I've been going to an RMT once a week going on 3 years. They have a license and study up to 2 years to get their license. They are a 'God send' to those of us who actually need them. They could lose their license doing anything that would be considered unprofessional. I can not see any of them risking their license for a few extra dollars. They make excellent yearly wages doing what they have been trained to do. IF someone is looking for a happy ending you would not go to see an RMT in the first place. Personally I am looking for a VERY HAPPY ending, so I find the provider who can do that. It is just a matter of going to see the right person for what you are looking for. My 5 cents worth.

I must agree, it's a bit vexing. But some like the added "security" behind a anonymous board handle I guess, and to each their own When a gentleman wants to book an encounter with a lady, I can see having a closed profile page might raise a warning flag with her..."if he is hiding his anonymous profile, what else is he hiding?" I hate this as well and makes me leery to communicate with these people although, I do believe, that male members must make their profile private in order to have photo albums. Please correct me if I am wrong.

When I go to someone's profile and I can't see anything about the person I wonder why they are even on here. To me everyone that is able to view a profile should extend the same courtesy. But that is just my view.

Ottawa is by far the busy city on cerb (it's closely related to EC and LYLA.com - Both have always been very strong in the ottawa market). I am so happy to see all the great comments of our members about how much they enjoy the positive take that cerb has (makes me proud so thank you all for that). I have to find a way to get other cities on board.

Here I go again, just a quick rambling. A couple ladies I see/have seen, when we were in conversations during an encounter reflected that for guys, review boards are part of the "hobby" (I hate that word when used for this lifestyle) and hobby implies recreation, escape, enjoyment etc. But for the ladies, coming on the review boards is for them work, a part of their job (yes, this isn't a hobby to them, it is their livelihood) and most boards are a necessary but unpleasant evil for them. CERB on the other hand, while part of their livelihood, because of it's positivity is not so much part of work, and the ladies are as much (and they should) equal members of this community. The other boards don't foster this same community spirit for them. If CERB goes the route of a review board, I fear the community spirit will go, and so will many of the ladies too. As for reviews in general. If a review was done in a respectful responsible manner, I would be less opposed. But a couple examples from some review boards I was on, and why I quit them all and stuck with CERB Case One. I wrote a recommendation of a lady, one I posted here. I also posted it on this review board I was on at the time. Well I got a slew of PM's bashing me for not writing the real intimate details, telling everyone what she does and so on. I said that was private, and was bashed on PM's for saying so, the gist being only reviews with the nitty gritty details are worth posting and if I wouldn't do reviews like that, don't post. I closed my account Case Two. A "man" posted his review of a lady. His review of this lady went something like this. A friend of a friend saw her. Had a bad encounter, so I won't see her. He reviewed a lady he never even saw. Closed my account to that board too. BTW both ladies I have seen, and aren't review worthy, they are recommendation worthy It seems, and I may be generalizing here, but review boards seem to cater to those who want either a review which bashes the lady or reads like Penthouse Forum So for what it's worth, I think CERB should stick to being a recommendation board. If guys want to read reviews, there are other board out there, nothing says you can't join them too. And I fear a decline in the ladies' participation or worse, closing of their accounts if we go the route of an escort review board That's my two cents worth RG Oooppps one quick comment. When I was on the other boards, I didn't enjoy being on them, unlike CERB which I do enjoy being on and contributing too. So closing my accounts there was no hardship. And I had six bad encounters, five I could chalk up to YMMV (being generous here) but not review worthy (review meaning negative review) But one I had, it was REVIEW worthy, that bad. It wasn't so much that she stole money from me but she robbed me of an encounter. But as bad as she was, I could only review on another board, and I'd rather be a positive contributor here than a negative one on another board if that makes sense. Plus it made me appreciate all the more those good and great companions I see.

On the facial recognition thing - I've had face pictures out and openly been an escort for three years, and have gone to the States at least a dozen times, probably more actually, during that time. I've never had a problem. I do understand completely why many chose not to show their face, but I honestly don't think worry about crossing to the States should be a deterrent. For future jobs... I do get it. And I 100% respect peoples choices and hope the gentlemen always respect that some women keep their face private. But not long ago I had someone tell me that if I really do want to start a bakery in the future, I should get my face photos off the internet. That it would ruin my ability to open MY OWN bakery one day. I basically told him to go fuck himself. I am a businesswoman now, and will be in the future with my bakery. If someone won't come buy my cupcakes because they know I've been an escort, then sucks to be them. I will *not* be shamed for what I do.

I think we can all agree on one thing. This site is only as good as the contributions from the members so all you lurkers out there, get to your keyboard and write some recos. It doesn't have to be an essay. Even just a simple "I really had a great time with her" is a vote of confidence and probably makes a lady feel pretty good about the encounter.

I thought that to have albums as a male member, only the albums needed to be private and not the whole profile. I didn't think that my whole profile was private. Can some one take a look at my profile and see if it's all private? I understand that some guys might want to keep everything private for discretion purposes however I know that some SP's only choose to friend clients that they've actually met. Using this information can help other SP's who are contacted by a client for an encounter determine if the client is legit and safe in a quick way. There might be a new SP that joins CERB then starts getting requests for dates and as someone new might be overwhelmed by the response that "NEW" SP's get when they start. Having some way to quickly wade through the clients to find the good serious ones quickly is a positive. I know that some SP's have done this as part of their verification process. Identify an SP who only friends people that she has met then if a request comes in for a date from a new client then quickly check the SP's friends list to see if she knows the client and has friended him. It's just one additional level of comfort that the new SP can have.

I just think that most sites get regional, whether it is planned that way or not. I've visited a couple of newer sites when they first popped up, because the did a lot of heavy advertising across the country. When i went back to them a year or so later, because the ads did nothing for me, I found that without exception 90% of all reviews and ads were from one single area, and 10% leftover from the mass ad campaign lol For some reason that seems to be the way it is.

I find this story/encounter very difficult to believe. I have been going to massage every two weeks for the past 15 year, have seen about 10 different RMT's, all of them gorgeous, and never once have I come close to anything like this! There was just a thread about this on this board last week, and basically your story is the complete opposite of what the proffesion is all about. I also have difficulty believing she got you a wet towel and wiped you off with it, as this doesn't happen either. I'm kinda thinkin this wasnt a legit massage place, at least it doesn't employ licenced RMTs. Just IMHO ......

When I first joined this site, I struggled with the notion of the recommendation board vs the review concept. I see many of the new people have similar struggles as well. How am I going to figure out who the "bad ones" are? How am I going to share a bad experience so that others can avoid them? I see many newbies blatantly break the rules as they cannot even begin to understand a system that does not answer these questions. It wasn't until I figured out that this is not the goal of the site that I understood its value. It is not to help you find the bad ones. It is to help you find the good ones. As simplistic as that sounds, it was this change in thinking that made me really appreciate what we have here. It has also created an atmosphere where many of the sp's actually want to be here and participate in the forums. This lack of hostility leads to greater interest on their part, which in turn allows me to get to know more of them before I even meet them. Many of the ladies I already felt I knew before I ever met them in person. To me this adds immensely to the overall experience. I think we need to give some careful thought before we pave paradise and put up a parking lot so to speak. The internet has enough of those already. Allowing negativity is only going to drive people away in my opinion. Kudos to the mods for their tireless efforts in keeping the negatives at bay, and making this such a pleasant place to play.

I personally love to read the recommendations. I have in the past booked with ladies with no reco's, but for the most part I prefer to see a couple of posts about them first. Part of it is perhaps laziness, as it can answer a lot of questions about the type of experience the lady offers without having to bother her with pm's and emails that may not lead anywhere. I understand that each experience may be different and YMMV, so I'm not necessarily looking to specific details, but for the overall feel and impression of an encounter. You can tell a lot from what is said, and often even more from what is not said. The reco's also show me that this is person is who she says she is, the pics are real, and that someone at least has had a very good time. I love the fact that this is a recommendation site and not a review site as it forces people to focus on the positive. I've never given a lot of weight to negative reviews as often the reviewer is being petty or has an ax to grind. It's often easier for people to focus on the bad stuff, which to me means that when someone says something good, they normally mean it.

You have to also keep in mind that it isn't always racism for an sp to say they won't see a particular race. Some sps from certain cultures won't see clients from the same race out of concern they might be meeting up with a family friend, or worse. Some sps are dating/married to someone of a race, so again it could be someone related to their SO or ex-SO So the sp could indeed love that race, but just not want to open the door to their cousin's ex SO and the easiest way to avoid that is to put it right in their ad..

I completely understand all the reasons why ladies choose not to show their faces and I respect everyone's own choices to live and operate as they see fit for their own situation, since everyone's circumstances are different. For me, I am completely "out" about what I do. Everyone in my life who matters, knows what I do. And I don't hide it from people I meet. My face was already "out there" from some amateur adult stuff I did when I was younger, so when I first started this, I didn't really feel a real need to hide my identity. I know that what goes on the internet is there for life, but it really doesn't bother me. Since my family knows, and respects my choices and love me for me, and I don't have children, and don't want any ever, I am free to live my life any way I want. I don't really understand about the facial recognition thing or how it relates to this. I mean, I understand the technology, but don't really get why US border services would do that to random innocent people crossing the border, however it doesn't surprise me at all. But in any event, I was already banned from the states several years ago for something completely unrelated to this (a really stupid thing when I was 19). I even bought an all-inclusive trip to Vegas last winter, thinking that after all these years, my federal pardon would be enough to allow me to cross, but nope, it wasn't. So fuck them. I have no interest in going to the United States ever again in my life, so that is not a concern at all for me, personally. I also feel like being 100% open with people about my profession, and not hiding my face, this is my small personal contribution to the fight against "stigma" we face. At this point, I have no interest in attending rallies, protests or meetings, but I do think that it is important for us to be heard and give an identity to the modern day prostitute. We are not the creepy skanky diseased, drug addicted scumbags that the media often portrays us as; we are normal people. By me being open with family, friends, and especially strangers, it shows a range of people that we are just regular women. We are mothers, daughters, nieces, friends, and we don't look any different than they do. We have just chosen a different type of work! I really like this job, and plan to be in it for as long as I do enjoy it, so I am putting everything I have into it, no holds barred. If the day came that for some reason I wanted to leave this profession, I could quite seamlessly slip back into my previous career at any time, and because of the type of work I used to do, I am lucky enough that being an SP would have no effect over my ability to be successful at it. It is true, we can only have photos in "private" albums. MP's and SP's can have public profile photos. I tend to agree as well. Its especially frustrating when you would like to get some more info on a provider only be blocked out. Everyone is entitled to their privacy I guess!

I personally do not care what colours, race, religion someone is...You just have more or less melamine than I do. Doesn't change anything for me. I personally know an SP, who will not see clients that are African Americans or black. She never been assaulted, stalked or anything by one of them...the reason? She is sexually not attracted to them. I personally salute her to have the courage to state in her ads that she will not see them. I know she tried it in the past, and there was just no connection for her. I haven't seen it much here, but on other erb websites, I've seen a lot of ads specifying "No Blacks, no east Indians". There is a reputation that these two races have certain unsavory characteristics (Not everyone of them, but a larger percentage compared to other groups). Whether it's true or not, I have no idea. On one occasion, despite having no comment regarding this on her website or her ad, I found out about an SP's no Blacks/No EI clients rule after she sent me an email asking for my background. After I told her (I'm EI), she cancelled, and that was that. It was a bit humiliating, but the best way forward is to forget and move on to someone who is willing to see you. All of the most amazing women I've met do not have this exclusion requirement, and I'm sure you'll find someone that meets your interest.

Somedays this idea could be a real winner around here.

Just wanted to point out that if you have tattoos and post pictures with them showing, your publicly displaying your identity just the same as you would with a face shot. I understand the reasons why some SPs don't post their faces (or tattoos), and that is their choice and they have every right to continue doing so. But as Emily J stated earlier in the thread, some of us are open with friends and family about what we do, and have no reason to mask our identities. Since face photos seem to not be a deal-breaker for most gents, I guess it's just a bonus when a girl does have 'em! ;) And out of curiosity.... How many gents here would turn down hiring a potential secretary (just ONE example) whom they know to have previously been an SP? If a service provider gets caught using paypal the account gets frozen (including the funds) and second with the buyer protection it can easily be disputed. So... taking paypal is a risk most ladies would never take these days.
