I'm not sure what context Miss Jane is bringing up, if it's specific to this industry, please ignore the rest of this post. When I was younger (I feel old saying that, but in reality just about 7 or so years ago), I met this girl who was all kinds of messed up. She was nice, but for certain reasons, she had a very low self-esteem, dabbled in some dangerous activities, and in other ways, in a bad place. I helped her through some of it, I'm happy to say that I did a decent job, she's headstrong and accomplished now. On her way to bigger and better things. But that relationship really did a number on me. I do believe I was well intentioned, but it did start to feel weird when she became more independent. It's hard to put into words, because saying it really makes me feel a disgusted with myself, and even though everyone here is more or less a faceless avatar, it is a bit shameful to admit this. I resented when she did become better, or healed so to speak. Being that person who was a confidant, a crutch, it made me feel better about myself. I realize now I had my own self-esteem issues, if my 'white-knight' self was using all of this as a confidence booster. 7 years may not seem that long to some here, but I wonder about that little kid, wonder how I could've been that person. I guess based on my own experience, I do have a negative correlation to white knight. I've learned that it's good to do something nice for others, and okay to feel some sort of satisfaction. But it is a small component of my life. I am on occasion hesitant helping people, especially women who are my age. I try to wonder if I'm doing it for the right reasons, or because I feel as if I want something more. This has turned out to be a bit of a rambling, so I'll stop here. Hopefully this was to point.

I thank you all for the positive thoughts and comments. I want everyone to understand that this has nothing to do with health or a broken relationship. My grandfather told me to do what's right and not what's easy in life, so I did. I have to admit that I get asked this question more and more these days. I'm aware that as an independent we can do what we want, but I do not appreciate the insistence or the handful I have to occasionally deal with in person after I have made myself clear before we meet. If a provider tells you she offers manual massage only, please don't see her anyway thinking she may change her mind. A few years ago, a touring lady from Toronto was here in Ottawa ( I had seen her once before), we were to see each other the next am. After retiring in May 2012, and 36 years as a CTV Ottawa news anchor, Leigh Chapple has passed away at the age of 58. Leigh was also a long time instructor at Algonquin College. Leigh and her husband both retired at same time from CTV, to spend more time together. An awful shame, the cause of her death is unknown at this time, but apparently she died peacefully. As an avid watcher of our local news, (CJOH local news) she will be missed by her colleagues. R.I.P. Leigh Chapple.

Every year my children and I pick one angel each off the angel tree and use Christmas money they get from there grandparents to buy the presents. I believe it's very important for my kids to get involved in giving back. This year my son asked if he could buy presents for kids that would be in Cheo over the holidays. So we are doing that as well :) We also give to the food bank all year long and donate clothes that no longer fit them to a local shelter.

Charitable giving, whether through money or time, is very important. At this time of year I always make donations to local food banks and toy drives. Toy drives seem particularly important to me as no child should be without a new toy at Xmas. Over the winter I also make sure my kids recycle their old winter coats to the various charities that make sure kids get winter coats. If there is a criminal organization bringing Romanian nationals into Canada and they are made to be sex workers, then yes, I hope law enforcement investigates and the Crown prosecutes them. It sounds, just from what I can take from the RCMP press release, this is more of a case of sex trafficking. This is the ugly side of prostitution and police should target it. I just want to bring my comments to this thread. When I chose to begin this hobby, and I want to thank CERB for that, I valued a lot the values of safety, discretion and in some ways the ethics of the providers that advertize on CERB. The last thing I want to experience with this hobby is being put in a situation where my life, my job and my reputation would be compromised by some people that don't care about safety. We fight against BBFS,, we fight for any unsafe sexual practices,we fight for discretion either from the providers and the hobbiests, we fight against "bait and switch", we shoudl also fight against any other behaviour that put us at risk; and a MA working in a Spa that offers FS or BJs is putting us at risk. I'm not a saint, and when I go to a spa, the emotions of the moment, (let's say that sometimes we think with our penises...) the temptation is real; even "the risk" can be tempting. But in front of judge, when the Ottawa Citizen will talk about the Johns, and your name is on the list, I'm sure that regrets will rise, and the point of no return has been passed. Too late. I appreciate the spas that seems very rigourous about the limits of what the MA can offer, and I have experienced that they stick to it; discretion and safety are the main reasons for me to use their services. Au contraire, when I learned that some MA in some spas offers "more", and I wont even think to get there; for me, these spas are like a mine field where it can explodes in my face any time. I'm a promoter of safe sex, and safe sex is not only a health issue. Why we would put our life and safety at risk when it can be prevented? There are son many possiblities in this business, there are so many indies that offer a range of high quality services in a clear and safe environment, that I don't see any reason to take a risk to ask and get a service that would be illegal. I have been in this same situation, once at my cottage with NO internet..NO phone connection, someone called me a fake and all that it was is that I REALLY HAD NO ONNECTION..
