4 pointsI've debated starting this thread for months. Firstly when I left cerb last September, and more recently when I rejoined. I've heard some very, very outlandish rumours about why I left cerb, and retired from escorting last September. Which is why I chose to put this thread in the 'escort discussion' area. I've heard these rumours from people who heard them from people I've never met. And people who definitely should not be sharing my personal information. Especially personal information that isn't even true. So, I've finally decided to make it public. Here's the big reason I retired from escorting last year: I lost a friend. And two months later I lost another. And a few months after that, I lost another. Escorting is a business that requires a very, very large part of your emotions to be there. Massage does as well, but not to the same level. And I haven't been able to provide the connection escorting has required for quite a few months now. I did not retire because I was robbed. I was NOT robbed by a client or anyone to do with the business. I did get robbed, and shared that information with some SPs in private, and it is very sad that this information was not kept in private because it had nothing to do with work. I did not retire because my business was lacking, or because I couldn't afford a work apartment. I left because I wanted, when I went home at the end of the day, to be able to focus on my friends, and my life. Nothing scandalous. And it makes me very sad that I've continued to hear gossip and rumours about me and my life in the months since I made the change. We all share parts of ourselves with each other on a daily basis, both on this site, and in the work that we do. But here's a note to people to think that they have the right to pry, and butt in to the personal business of people who just want to be left alone: it hurts, it creates lies, and you're not helping anyone. I've grown tired of people telling me why they heard I've left, and I'm saddened that people think my life is something to be gossiped about. We all can get very personal in our discussions on this site, and in our sessions: but here's a tip that should be taken to heart by everyone: if it was told to you in private, that makes it private. Don't spread rumours about people, and don't break confidences. You're better than that. Everyone is. I am not posting this for anyone to offer condolences on the loss of my friends. I'm not posting this for people to offer sympathy or anger in any way, or to post stories about rumours they've heard. I simply decided that, after so many months of STILL being asked why I left, and still hearing rumours about my reasons, that I would share this. That's all. Thanks.

3 points. This highlight is not only for today but it occurred over the course of the last few days; I always knew the CERB community was an awesome one but I had no idea of the extent of it. Your support and kindness have definitely helped me go through a very difficult and stressful time and without all of you, I would have lost my mind. You have helped me keep my cool (I have to admit that I snapped and blew up today in a not so lady like way), guided me on how to keep things in perspective and encouraged me to keep my head high even though all I wanted to do was cry and give up. You guys are truly wonderful!!! :) Today's highlight: finding out that rotten apples are not welcome on CERB!

2 pointsYes, well just to clarify on that Samantha (so no one gets bitten) I would imagine that without payment of income tax throughout the year by installments and assuming income of enough to live on, you'd end up owing some taxes. So for self employed persons while it is true that the filing deadline is June 15, the pay up deadline is still April 30, so in my case having prepared my return to know how much I owed (extremely "cruel and unusual punishment"), having to prepare the return to determine how much I owed and pay it by April 30, might as well file. The June 15 deadline is only helpful if your business is operating at a loss and we certainly hope that would never be the case. From the CRA web site: "your return for 2011 has to be filed on or before June 15, 2012. However, if you have a balance owing for 2011, you still have to pay it on or before April 30, 2012." Oh darn, I just cut and pasted that, shameful! :) So if you owe taxes on April 30th and any reputable service provider does, technically you are fined 5% of what you owe when you haven't paid by the 30th and it just gets worse from there. I was so busted up when I found out how much I owed (and paid it two hours before the deadline) I had to spend a lovely afternoon with a wonderful lady to have her to take my mind off it and she did :) I'm all better now.

1 pointUsually, it's a given that you shouldn't approach an SP or a client in public. You never know who they're with, and the end result could spell disaster all around!

1 pointThe problem is the idea of "fairness". Who ever said life is fair or even should be? If a lady wants a second reco thread then pehaps she should put the effort in to make it happen by switching her services for a while. Our society has developed an unattainable ideal of "fair" which doesn't work in real life. When someone lives a different experience then the life results will be different so if an SP wants a second reco thread then the effort needs to be made to achieve it. The work involved in changing your services in tremendous both personally and financially and I don't see a problem with the extra effort providing a small payoff. To me this ideal falls into the same category as little league baseball today where no team loses and everyone gets a trophy... cat

1 pointI think it's up to the lady. I chose to have a previous reco thread removed when I became an MA, as I wouldn't want people reading my reviews to expect services I don't provide. I don't think there is a one way or the other answer to this, again it depends on the girl. If an MA became an SP, I see no reason why her thread shouldn't just continue, as most girls in that case continue to provide massage services along with the rest of their services.

1 pointThis thread makes me ill! As a human being, and I use that term very loosely, you have a moral obligation to care and protect your children! My son is 20 now, and I would still lay down my life for him!!! His mother and I only dated, we were never married. Not only was there a legal obligation to care for him, how could I not care for my own child!!! I have enough guilt about leaving to go off to war so many times while he was growing up, but I would do anything for him. If you get anyone pregnant, you should be utterly ashamed of yourself if you abandon both the woman in question and your child!
-
1 pointjust out of curiosity, who hypotheticlly thinks of this stuff???? COMMON SENSE would say your ARE obligated to any child regardless of her "occupation". And if you Sleep with an escort unprotected then your even more at fault for lack of common sense and your safety...I would say this hypothetical question might be your guilty conscience asking for advice???

1 pointI'd never seen it like this, but come to think of it, yep, behind these three letters I rarely get the level of excitement (no, extasy!) I would like to find. Thanks for having corrupted my mind :-) toine

1 pointVictoria, sometimes we screw up....and when we do it is wisest to just come to terms with it! I know I have at least one "apology" thread out there, lol.... Just learn from it, never, ever do anything like it again, and allow your own true self rise above:) my advice from experience in "screwing up" lol...

1 pointbackrubman, if you come to Vancouver and want to see me, I'm pretty sure we could make arrangements acceptable to both of us without any trouble. :icon_lol: Of course. I can provide useful directions regardless of the means of transportation my guest may employ. I don't worry about taxi drivers. We have zillions of them in Vancouver. I use taxis frequently, but I've never had the same one twice. In any case, not only can I not be concerned about drivers who gossip, I can't imagine what they would have to say about me in the first place. I don't operate a pleasure palace, but a very discrete, low-volume business in a quiet, up-scale neighbourhood. No worries! Stowing a bit of luggage isn't a problem. Calling another cab to take someone to the airport is also a very simple matter.

1 pointI've been self-employed for most of my working life and have never registered my businesses. I was the only employee and have always worked from my home most of the time. The advice I received when I first started to work was that there was no need to register my business in most jurisdictions. You're eligible for all the same tax credits and whether the business is registered or not. You can claim self-employment income on your tax return, make claims for legitimate business expenses, such as advertising, travel and materials directly related to your work. If you have a car, keep a log of your mileage when you go to meet a client. Keep a record of your auto lease payments, gasoline and repairs, too. You will be able to claim a portion of these costs as business expenses. If you tour, you can claim the cost of flights, accommodation and half of your meals. You can also claim a portion of your heat, electricity and home telephone expenses as well as the cost of your workspace. Bank records are helpful, but the CRA won't ask for them. They do monitor bank accounts, however, so it would not be wise to deposit income and then not acknowledge receiving it when you file your income tax return. Undeclared cash income is still income, whether you put it in the bank or not. There are no laws requiring anyone to put money in the bank or to prevent us from spending cash.
-
1 pointI understand your sentiments, but the fact is legally the tax man is entitled to his cut, and not paying it is illegal. The consequences of getting caught not paying taxes can be severe. Also how do you start this self directed retirement plan etc etc...any RRSP's, chequing/savings accounts etc etc etc require your SIN number and Revenue Canada will know. And with laws more directed against money laundering, banks are required to report deposits over, I believe $10,000/day, but I'm sure a bank would report any accounts that cause eyebrows to be raised. Only way to keep it completely under the table is bury the money in the back yard, and financially speaking, live off the grid One final thing, sex for money is not illegal. Related acts are (bawdy house, living off avails etc). So why put oneself in legal predicament with the taxman for a few bucks RG
