4 pointsA few days ago, a fellow came in for his first visit. He was very inquisitive, asking all kinds of questions. I find this is normal for most first timer's, they want to get into your brain. I don't know why really. As I am here to provide a service that you apparently want/need. BUT..... The problem is, don't ask questions that you do not want the truthful answers to! He asked me if I had a BF, so naturally I say yes! Even if I did not have a BF I might say yes, so that he doesn't try to date me. lol.. When I answered him, explaining that indeed I do have BF, but he does not live here with me, and has no say into my business what so ever, he continued to say" I have to say I am uncomfortable in knowing you have a BF" I even said " what don't you think I am deserving of love too?" He said of course, but still... WTF??? You are married, and I am sure she is NOT in support of you being here, whereas, my BF does support my decision to work this trade! I never understand how they expect me to reply, I mean...I could lie, but then the guy wants to wooo you, I am not into leading a person on. So if you tell the truth, you also face the possibility of loosing a client:( Would my clients prefer me to lie? Would not lying cause you to distrust me? Honestly, after he said this to me I am sort of reluctant to book him again, as I fear he will continue to try to learn more and more of my personal life:( So to my NB friends, Have you asked this question, only to find that you should have never asked it to begin with? Does an SP having a BF change anything for you? Have you ever stopped seeing someone ( an SP)because you found out they were in relationship or married? Should I lie? Tell the truth? Thanks in advance for anyone's input! This is a subject I continue to struggle with year after year! Like, why the hell can we not have relationships too? It is a double edged knife for me on this topic! felling frustrated:(

4 pointsAnyone else not impressed with the majority of stories and articles about this event most often use pics of outdoor street workers, and not the more accurate use of just about anything else, including a picture of a banana, would be more useful than leaving an impression that LE visited street workers.

4 pointsIf 150 women are being trafficked here in Ottawa (and note, it is always "women", or more specifically "girls" used by the abolitionist groups and police; I suppose men can't be trafficked?), then where is the research to back this claim and more importantly, why did Ottawa police not find one single non-consensual worker in the "Northern Spotlight" visits? Just a thought.

3 pointsThere are risks to everything and there is no reward without risk. Driving is a huge risk on nice summer days, where you trust the oncoming car not to swerve into you, let alone on a snowy day where you are trusting all the cars around you to have decent tires and an awake driver. There are many streets in Toronto that I wouldn't want to walk down by myself during the day let alone at night. A lot of personal safety comes from situational awareness - if someplace looks shady, don't go there; if you find yourself someplace you'd rather not be, leave. The planet is an amazing place full of wonderful things for you to experience - you shouldn't let fear restrict you to a tiny part of it that in many ways is no safer.

3 pointsThis whole business of guys not wanting to give real information to someone they want to get naked with reminds me of a discussion I had last week. In general, providers and clients are engaged in a variant dance of Mutual Assured Destruction. [mutual assured destruction n. Severe, unavoidable reciprocal damage that superpowers are likely to inflict on each other or their allies in a nuclear war, conceived as the heart of a doctrine of nuclear deterrence.] Neither party particularly wants to be "outed" by the other and is highly unlikely to do so because of the "severe, unavoidable reciprocal damage" that would result. So gents, relax. Provide the requested information truthfully and enjoy the results.

2 pointsWhere are you? Why is it, the only posts here are simply asking for info but with no other contributions? WE WANT to hear from you!! You obviously have a screen name , you must have opinions? I look at other cities, and see much being learned and taught! yes I know we are small in population, but really, do you not have anything to say? Chat about anything, we are listening and want to engage! The benefits of US providers as well as YOU! It is well worth it! Talk to us, our community can only get better by hearing from you:) Give it a try...what excites you? What is it that get's your goat? What have you learned by being a hobbyist? What concerns you? You don't have to be a philosopher. but just be honest and respectful to others... hope to see more posts in NB:) It will help me, and you to get to know each other!

2 pointsThought it would be appropriate to point out a site -- independentescortsottawa.com -- that holds itself out as a group of independent Ottawa escorts working together but that, in fact, is not. The other day, I had an appointment with one of the "independent" SP from this site, thinking I was communicating with her directly to arrange the appointment. When the SP showed up, it did not appear to be the person represented in the photograph but I gave her the benefit of the doubt as the face was not clear on the site.... it became quite obvious when she removed her clothes that she was not that person. . . When I told her that nothing was going to "happen" as she was not who or what I thought, she quite candidly explained: > That it is not a group of independent escorts but an agency. > That they send whomever is available for the appointment > That, in fact, the pictures on the site are not of any of the girls that work there. The women pictured on the web site basically don't exist there and are not the real pictures of any of the SP there. So, FYI, be forewarned that this is but another cynical bait-and-switch.

2 pointsHas anyone had the chance to read the article in our Daily Gleaner? It is the first time I read an article on prostitution laws that FINALLY stated that not all sex-workers are forced or oppressed or what have you. They seem to finally see that for many of us choose to do this as our profession! Brought up the fact that we could pay into the system like taxes, CPP, EI etc. To be treated and looked at as any other job, being able to complain to labour boards on health and safety, etc. I was so pleased to read this. I am of course aware of the challenges that some sex workers face ie: pimps, violence, trafficking. BUT it is far fewer then what most papers are trying to portray. They really seemed to have a grip on the actual facts. I tried to look up the article on line, but did not find it, perhaps if some does find it, you will post it in the "news" section:) I read it in the printed paper, Feb 06.

2 pointsI agree its very nice when someone contacts you to have a post history to look at briefly. It really does help us get to know you a little bit. I am often disappointed when I'm approached for a date and the person has little or no posts. Its a lot more fun guys if you share a little bit about yourselves. At least from my point of view if we have something to talk about you are going to have a much better experience.

2 pointsYour ramblings makes all good sense! The line is different with us Sp's/Ma's as e might see 4 of you in one day. So to answer these questions with BS is a bit hardr, cause you need to remember each lie you tell. I do ask simple questons to my clients. watching their body language and know from there if I should continue. Perhaps for you ( hobbyist) , you might have 1 lady each week/month..whatever. The thing is, why is not suppose to bother us as SP/MA that YOU have an SO, or not? It doesn't not matter to us. As long as YOU are safe and happy. Your right, as is Meg,and Curious, we have on line persona, that is why you book us. If you all knew I was typing this in my slippers and house coat, with no make up, no music, just me....then I am guessing you probably wont book me hahahha, OK, there is my rambling RG hahahha, Love ya !
-
2 pointsI agree with you RG however, there are many topics of conversation which do not include one's love life. I really can't recall a time that I have asked a companion about his marital status or current love life. I find that chatting about interests, hobbies a far more stimulating and telling conversation :)
-
2 pointsMy favorite is when the client go through the booking process, confirm and date and time, then when comes the time to complete my screening information in order to confirm the appointment, they disappear. Like they were hoping I would slack on my verification procedures. As stated on my website, on my screening form page: Being in my company is a privilege, not a right.

2 pointsThe Winter Olympic Games have begun with the official opening ceremonies having just been concluded. One thing that I have not lost with my advancing age is my sense of idealism. When the Olympics come around every two years and I look at the majority of the athletes, I see young people, kids mostly it seems to me, who have sacrificed their time and their bodies in pursuit of a goal. Some are certainly professionals, such as our NHL players that are going over, but most are ordinary people who obtain minimal monetary funding that allows them to train for this experience. They are living their dream on an individual level yet they also do represent us and our country in their endeavors. For their work, their effort, their personal commitment and the ideals that many of them truly do represent, I say "Well done." They make me proud.

2 pointsI recently donated a small amount to a young man, who desperately wants to play hockey! He is talented, but his mom who is a single mom, and not much pennies to spare. One person said to me " ohhh that is a scam, there are many gov funded programs for this kid!" For me, there is a huge difference in a kid just wanting to play, from a kid who had a vision of real determination to go as far as he could. This kid is now 9 yrs. I was an athlete, I trained in gymnastics. I started at age 5, by the time I was 13 I was trained for nationals. Age 15 I had a life changing injury. I made it to provincial level. I was training that year for nationals. To this day, I can not imagine how my parents managed to pay for my training?? Even with both parents working Gov jobs, it was insane the amount of money they paid out! Thanks Mom, Dad! In the world of athletes, it is an early career, you need to start early, cause you will finish early as well. To see our young teams get this far, I am always in awww of their determination! So yes...I will always help a young one along their way, especially when this is in their bones:)
-
2 pointsQuite frankly, does it really matter what we do or who we do it with during our personal time? No answer will ever be the right answer and therefor I prefer not to discuss my personal love life. You are coming to see me because of the persona I have created online, why ruin the fantasy? When you are with me I am Meg the super sexy MILF and that is what really matters :) PS, if it really matters that much to you, perhaps you are not ready to hobby!

2 pointsIn addition to what Suite Escapes says, there are a few things IMHO are important when we are travelling abroad. The first thing is - it is a very good idea to register at the Canadian Foreign Affairs's website before our travel. Here is their website - http://travel.gc.ca/travelling/registration This ensures that they know where you are and to make contact in case of emergency. I find it extremely helpful to do some research of the countries or places we intend to visit, the do's and don'ts, places to avoid etc. There are countries such as Japan, China, most European countries where I have no problem going almost anywhere alone in the daytime. No matter where we travel, it is important not to act like a tourist and carry expensive camera or video equipment in full view. Even places like Mexico, if you stick to your resort you are staying and only go out in an escorted group or a large group, there'll be no problem. While it is very tempting to rent a car and go sightseeing by yourself, the risk is high that you can be robbed or get into a car accident. What we should keep in mind is that the horror stories we are hearing are mostly isolated inccidents. For one incident, there could be thousands and thousands of travellers who have enjoyed the experience and never have encountered such bad problems.

2 pointsNews love fear mongering.. I guess it's not as interesting to report on the great and lovely vacations people have outside the country. There's is so much out there to discover, learn and see. I actually love visiting (parts) of South America. I heard a lot before going there, but I've never come across anything like bribes or abnormally high crime rates. (Though I did find a lot of people stand really close when they talk to you.) I've walked around at night in Asia, stayed with strangers in Europe... once you get out and start seeing places you start to see how similar people are no matter where they live. Don't let fear stop you. If you want to travel, you should.. you're probably just as likely to face unfair persecution here as you are in a lot of other countries. Edit: Oh and you can totally go missing anywhere! Even here.. Was just reminded of Owen Rooney, who was an Australian who went missing here, in Canada, after being beat up.
-
2 pointsIt is my understanding that NOONE including Asian agencies is allowed to post Fake Pictures here on Cerb... there is no Grace or favoritism.. as far as the pics they use on other websites or advertising.. there is not really anything we can do... and it would have to be the gentlemen who decide if they want to deal or no with them...

2 pointsMy latest amusement with these guys is to interrupt them and ask the if their family is proud of them. "Does your father proudly tell his friends that his son steals money? Is your mother comforted in her heart that she raised a son who brings shame upon the family name?" Right around there is when they hang up. I recognize these guys are just doing their job but I also know that there are legitimate calls centres in India and Bangladesh where they could perform honourable work. So move along, guys. Nothing to see here.

2 pointsI personally do not required references on a regular base, sometime I will ask for it, but it is not that common. I do however have some people staying they have seen such and such...but please don,t contact me because I don't want them to be jealous or know I have seen you. I am starting to wonder if some guys are "ashamed" of seeing me because I am so heavily tattooed or something:/
-
2 pointsthanks for posting this Emily. I had someone provide a 'fake' reference once long ago, and now I insist upon seeing a website and contact via email to verify the validity of the reference. It's also important to me that the lady be someone they have seen within the last six months. I check every reference too. It's bizarre to me that any gent would want to see someone that isn't comfortable seeing them, but it's something I've experienced too. Almost like when I said "no thank you" it became a personal challenge to somehow try to get around that. I wonder if sometimes rejection by a sex professional, even when done tactfully, is more than some can easily accept.
-
1 pointI don't find this a particularly flattering position sight wise. I wouldn't refuse to do it as its your choice but maybe some are self conscious?

1 pointI have a major GOOD decision to make. Should I replace my older tv, still works but it'll die one day. And if so, LCD, LED or Plasma (I'm leaning towards plasma) Should I get 42" (it'll fit into my entertainment unit) or should I move the entertainment unit in the spare bedroom and wall mount a 50" or even 60" tv. It's nice with all the decisions we have to make, I have one which no matter the choice is good RG

1 pointI know there have been pros and cons on both sides of this issue. Some think it clutters up the threads and is another obligation. Some believe it's nice to recognize the contributions of those who are trying to make this a great place on the web for those involved in the industry. With a recent post, it had me thinking about the value of continuing to do this. Do you think it's a positive thing you would like to see continue or is it a waste of energy and not needed?
-
1 pointCERB and respected agencies aside, I think it is generally taken as a given that almost all Asian ad photos are fake and all other stats. (e.g., age 21 = 42) should be taken with a grain of salt. I could be mistaken, but I think part of the reason some Asian ladies use fake photos is so that they won't be recognized back home. The advertisers that post fake information have made it harder (and not in a good way) for all the many, many honest Asian advertisers who are passed over by folks not wanting to take the chance on B&S, or undergo extra scrutiny and grilling on the phone. As with many things in life, a few seem to spoil a good thing for the many. (my pre-coffee half-awake rambling).

1 pointThese two articles contradict each other, if you think about it. On the one hand we are presented with a solid number: 150. On the next article we are presented with funding for someone to go out and find a solid number. Therefore this number presented has to be fake, because they all admit that they don't have the proper tools and funding in place to know what the number IS. smh bleh

1 pointRecognition threads are a great example of what makes cerb special. The founding idea of speaking only the nice thoughts and keeping the negative ones to your self. Like the internet itself, cerb is an eclectic collection of ideas and thoughts that vary so drastically that there is something for everyone. And also like the internet itself, you must learn to pick and choose the things that interest you, and skip over the rest. Sometimes I enjoy reading these threads, and sometimes I skip over them, depending on my mood. I do however appreciate that there are those out there who take the time to recognize others. A big kudos of recognition to the recognizers out there. Keep up the great work.

-
1 pointAnother observation on this stuff. I'm not quite sure what prompted this thread in the first place - complaints about clutter in the General forum, if I may speculate? :) However... this same criticism has been leveled at the games threads, and the pics threads (both the silly ones and the T&A ones), and I'm pretty sure at many others too. The point is that while there's probably an awful lot of us who think that the general forum is cluttered, we probably have a lot of diversity of opinion on exactly which threads are useless clutter and which ones are good and interesting and relevant and deserve to be here. All this really reflects is the simple fact that we're a community whose members have a diversity of interests, but for me that's part of the attraction. It saddens me that there seem to be some who would prefer to silence those whose interests and priorities are different from their own. Down that road I see nothing but sterility and boredom.

1 pointAnd the recognition threads add to the positive atmosphere of CERB It makes us less a collection of anonymous board handles and more a community of like minded people, if that makes sense We recognize one another through the various recognition threads, giving thanks, rep points/comments and nominations. It's what makes CERB just a cut above the other boards IMHO The recognition threads, just reinforce CERB's positivity. We have had in the past some heated discussions over some topics, but recognition threads are positive, and don't we all need some positivity now and then? Besides if they truly cluttered up the board, I think Mod would step in and say something. A rambling RG

1 pointJust to chime in once more, many of the recent birthday threads have had hundreds of hits and dozens of posts. This shows a real outpouring of affection and appreciation for our members. I can't understand objections to this. As I've said before, if you're not interested in a thread, just avoid it. I'm selective about what I read on here, but I do like to see members recognized for their contributions. And Tracie, you've played a big and positive part in this. Thank you. It's much appreciated.
-
1 pointI've never understood the "thread clutter" argument. I mean, I don't personally get anything out of abc game-type threads, but it takes me half a second to skip over them to the ones I'm more interested in, so what's the harm, especially if there's others who get a good time out of them? I'd think the same would apply to recognition threads. If for some people it builds a sense of a community and makes someone feel better for even a short time, then isn't it worth it? My own vote is to continue as things are, but I suppose if a compromise was needed someone could always make a single recognition thread for all of them. All milestones for all members could be recognized in the one thread, easily followed by those that wish to and likewise easily ignored by any put off by them. As I say, I truly don't see the harm in them as they are, but that's the only alternative approach I can imagine.

1 pointPeabody & Sherman Rocky & Bullwinkle Dudley Doright Mighty Mouse Paint. When I was very, very little, my mother took me to her best friend's house across the street. Her friend was in the process of repainting their living room. Left to my own devices while my mom and her friend drank coffee and visited, I decided to help with the painting. I had most of the TV console covered before I was discovered. What? I was just trying to help. Grown ups!! As hard as you try, they're never happy.
