Hey all Cerbies, How I have been missing this wonderful place called Cerb. I have been getting PM and messages and emails from friends on here and it is heart warming to see how some people I have never met miss me on here. My initial thought to the question was 'of course she should be herself!'. But I don't think it's as simple as that. I think her online presence should be true to herself. I literally saw someone just because of a very different approach to how she advertised, and I liked that about her. I think that being someone else might attract people you wouldn't normally like to be with, even in a professional capacity (but I say this without any experience on the other side). It would be hypocritical for me to say that all SPs should only be themselves with a client, and not put on a show, because in the end of the day, this is a method of income, and to risk it for some idealized notion is not realistic in my opinion.

Am I the only one who feels that the general level of dialogue in the forums has degenerated over the last year or so? I mean, I know we're all adults here, and all here to discuss very adult things, but it seems as though there has been a slide towards coarser and more vulgar language, to the point of it being almost offensive. I'm definitely not some kind od shrinking violet, and I have no problem with a certain degree of vulgarity. My favorite authors are some of the most disgusting writers, in a strangely eloquent way (Warren Ellis). But frequently reading customers referring to dancers and SPs as "pussy," and reading more and more ads titled along the lines of "cum let me stroke your fat cock until you soak my tits and pussy like a cum canvas" make me wonder if this is really how we would want the industry represented to outsiders. Just a thought.

I myself have a couple of reasons, but one is similar to the above. I want to know who I am talking to, and who i am giving the info to. This is also why i won't 'put it in writing' so to speak, so not in pms, texts or emails. Gender, sobriety, and sincerity are far more obvious in a phone conversation, to me, and is how i screen. Also, many many many ad posting sites prohibit posting services, therefore there is no point in posting rates that are based on those services. Maybe the sp can post 'rates start at 100" but typically, according to the rules of the majority of ad sites out there, they can't post rates for FS, bjs, half hour FS GFE, or whatever combination of things. The fact that some sps do post all that info is neither here nor there if the sp in question is a rule follower, and/or has had ads deleted (paid for ads) due to breaking the rules. she is unlikely to continue to break the rules, she would rather have the ad up, and risk someone being too nervous to contact her for the info. And if you are too nervous to contact just to ask about a rate, then are you going to be too nervous to show up after booking an appt? Because skittish clients are not fun if they don't show up lol. Hmm, I'm not sure I like what you've said here. Advertisements ARE personal expression. Each woman in this industry is unique and our ads provide a first impression into that particular SWers style, as the type of clients they wish to see. If one woman's style of advertising is to be what some may call "crass" (who the hell came up with the rule book on what crass looks like anyway? It seems to be individual perception!) -- what if that IS her being who they are, writing what they feel, saying what they think, being themselves and not needing to fit in a mold? I will give my opinion on this topic. I am one of the ladies who prefer not use explicit language in my advertising and in my posts because is not in my personality so I would be using what some like to read to attract readers and/or potential guests who would come see someone I'm not however I have always respected ladies who have a different approach than mine. There has been in the past one or two ads that I thought were a bit too explicit, or what you call vulgar and I admit to have made in my mind an idea of what the posters were like and with time through posts they started making that weren't ads, I realized that wording in ads didn't define the person they are, and definitely does not make them unclassy, there's also ladies who never use explicit language in their ads and even use the word classy in them and in my opinion (based on things I saw) they are not. Class is not in what you wear or the words one use in an ad or post but in how you (the real you) carry yourself so I don't think an ad defines if a lady is or isn't classy. As for the way some men refer to ladies here, I agree with you than some should be more respectful but is the same as with ladies, I have had a not so great almost encounter with a member here who in many of his threads comment how he is a gentleman and with me he didn't act like one which is why I think that words are just that and don't make us who we are. You probably won't have to ask for rates just because they aren't posted on an ad, all you have to do is initiate the contact. If a provider has chosen not to post her rates, she's prepared to share them long before you arrive at her door. I send an introduction with all the pertinent details along with my website information to every potential guest who sends an email that consists of actual words instead text abbreviations or the infamous one liner emails. I think the Conservative government would really rather not legislate on this issue. This reminds me of the hysterical reaction last year when there was a technical issue on dealing with gay divorce and all the opponents of the Conservatives jumped on the issue and claimed that the Conservatives were just itching to abolish gay marriage. Instead, the issue fizzled mere hours later when the government announced that the laws would be updated to encompass gay marriages. Harper isn't interested in promoting conservative issues, as he's shown again and again with the abortion issue, gay marriage, etc. He is interested in winning elections. Coming down with heavy legislation won't do that--it will just appeal to the Conservative base, who would vote Conservative no matter what.
