A Quick Update!! Last week's round of chemo hit me as hard as the previous one. Haven't lost any hair (weird), much tougher time getting a hard on (very weird) and caused me to black out (mucho weird....chemo aftermath, not a hard on) as I was going up the stairs. Good news was my looks were improved.....broke my nose, cranked my head on the stairs and ended up with a concussion. Bad news....still having a tougher time getting a hard on! But wait, it could have been worse, having a hard on, falling, having the little head getting a concussion or put in a splint!!! Oh well, surviving ugly, but still surviving. The golf tournament supporting military families goes off on Saturday in London, and we are sold out, have some great prizes and have already raised $18,000 in profits going to the military family fund. Thanks to all who continue to wish me well, I appreciate it on those crappy days!

This thread is probably going to sound like unorganized convoluted ramblings, if so sorry for that. We have had some notable members depart CERB for personal reasons and there have been threads come out as a result. First off, this isn't a bash at those threads. It is understandable that people reflect when there is a loss in the community. Yes, a loss in the community. But I decided to start a thread, hopefully positive. First, there are many escort boards, but how many have this sense of community. That the loss of some members is felt by all. It isn't just a case of leaving a board. But something should be kept in context, those members did leave of their own decision. And they can return any time they chose too. They also have respect and thought highly of the CERB community, because they chose to announce their departure, instead of just quietly closing their accounts. One more thing to remember, yes, some notables did depart. But personal life circumstances change (for everyone) and maybe they felt they had been here too long, who knows. But remember, not just those who left, and yes will be missed. Remember the many members still here still contributing to this community But while there has been reflections on the loss of members, maybe attributing it to other factors, we should keep in mind what a positive environment CERB is. I have been on some other _ERB and other escort boards, and left. Maybe CERB isn't perfect (hope Mod doesn't suspend for saying that LOL) but compared to the others, it is pretty close. It allows a forum for discussion while trying to keep a positive atmosphere. It is this positive atmosphere that allows the ladies and gentlemen to interact here equally. And the ladies feel safe here. CERB, it is more a case of we are all opposite sides of the same coin. My impression of the other boards, from my experience, it was more a hobbiest versus SP atmosphere, more a boys club. So yes, it is natural to reflect on the loss of some notable members. But that reflection also reinforces what a great community CERB is. That members are more than just profiles on a board, that their contributions are valued and what make CERB more than just a escort site, it makes it a community. And the losses while still felt, don't or shouldn't, for one second, diminish the sense of community here. Why don't you you look at the ladies' ads and read some recommendations.

Whenever I read a thread such as this or one of those "who gives the best oral, etc." I often sigh and shake my head. For me I keep coming back to what I have said over and over again. Guys, put yourself in the ladies shoes for a moment and look at in reverse. How would you, the guy, feel if every SP you met wanted to have a relationship with you? Pretty good at first I am sure but after awhile you wouldn't be hobbying anymore...you would have a girlfriend or wife, which is probably what you're trying to escape from when you are meeting an SP. Don't complicate things by greying the lines between SP/hobbyist as it will inevitably cause issues down the road. Keep in mind how you would feel if roles were reversed.

I'm not emtionally attached to Cerb, for me it is what it is. I enjoy a varied view and find utility in all forums the other erb, twitter etc that are available. Peace MG

I am a 2 time cancer survivor (betcha not too many of you knew that!) but I have not had to have chemo, just surgery. So I sort of understand a little of what you're going through. My hopes for you are that you stay in good spirits as that also helps healing. If the crappy days are getting you down, come here to CERB for a positive fix! :)

I totally agree with Emily. To some price means nothing at all. The majority of guests I entertain do not care if my donation is $100 or $1000, in fact that is usually one of the last questions I am asked just so the right amount is on hand. I say this very respectfully as a matter of point.

I was pretty naive. Once the sex stopped in my marriage, I went to a MP but did not know about the happy ending part. This was in the late '90s at Magic Hands on Merivale. And I completely understand where you are coming from Aubrey. This thread is not to gain some pitty or for people to tell me how they are sorry for me, or even to get attention from you. It is a share of my everyday life, as a SP in the great Capital region. So, here we go. Another great challenge about life... My mother. She is a powerfull Administrative Tribunal representative for the Government of Quebec. She also has been a SP, a ballerina and a musician. But now, she is a cancer victim... I've always seen her strong, full of life and determination, but with the kind of life she lived, body can't take it anymore... She has been diagnosed about 2 months ago with multiple cancers, but mostly lungs and brain tumors. She is now at the last phase waiting to die. Wich brings me to the point: I never really had the chance to know her, and I realize I'm making the same mistake with my daughter that she made with me. I've been a SP, a ballerina and a musician, I am now an accountant. Do I really want to die at 55 years old of such an illness in so much pain? My objective for the next couple of weeks: Getting to know my family as a member, not only a spectator. Having more time with them, live every breath of them both, so I can say I was'nt like her, I was there for them. Money and success are important, but not as much as them... XxXSabrinAXxX

I agree completely RG. Perfection is impossible, in part because no one could agree on what constitutes perfection. This is a functioning and supportive community. We care about each other, which is precisely why we feel the departure of prominent members as a loss. Couple thoughts.. Just me alone I do know a couple Cerb fellas that sex is not even a part of the equation...it is the companionship and it is real. For me personally this has never been a fantasy.... I used to have fantasies about one of my teachers :) This lifestyle however is my real life. My understanding is that the current decisions in the Bedford case are based on the current law, which is that prostitution itself is legal, and that if this were to change then people involved wouldn't be able to challenge the laws around it in the way that they have. And so yes, if the Government loses in the Supreme Court, they --could-- make the whole thing irrelevant. While I'm sure they'd like to, the question is: are they prepared to have that fight? Are they prepared to expend political capital on something that would undoubtedly be popular with their core electorate, but perhaps rather less so with the more centrist voters that any party needs to do well in elections? We'll find out when the time comes, I guess.

Althought I understand where you are coming from, Falling in love with an SP is not intended to be part of the nature of the business. We are offering the sexual companionship that you are lacking in your life, or not lacking and simply want to spice things up. I do not think you will find ANY Sps who are offering an option to be your surrogate lover. Sometimes lines do cross and people get confused about boundaries but it should be treated just like you said as doctor/patient, teacher/student, Those lines should not be crossed. There are many professional activities where the provider offer a nice and kind relationship, a caring one, an understanding one, and in the case of a SP an intimate one, but... for a nurse, a psychologist, a therapist, a doctor, it's not because they are really nice with me that I should expect that they will become my "friend" or the "love of my life". And, in a way, that is what we all want... without having the bonds of a "commited" relationship. There are many kinds of relationship, some are "instrumental" like the relation we have at the gas pump or with the mailman; some are more "functional" like the business relationships or with most of our co-workers; other are "significative" relationships, and those are rare and are part of the overall world of personal relationships. Every kind of relationships have their own value and importance in our lives. I would say that the SP/hobbiest relationship is a "functional" one. A very nice one. For me, to understand my expectations with a SP like that make things very simple.

I am always asked what I like..... I do have my likes but I am very much a go with where the sutuation takes us... I do like to ask what you like and don't like however.
