The month of September has been horrible for me in so many ways... Having a close friend of the family pass away (same for the family cat), my cat got sick, I got sick, had laptop problems, my fridge and car broke down, etc. I can't wait for things to get a little better and a lot less stressful!

I have no objection to "Shayla" being banned, but I also wouldn't object to her having a second chance... I really don't care either way. I do think that she was disrespectful, and I really like some of the responses from many of the ladies. She just seems pretty clueless to me, and probably won't succeed at this profession anyways, even if she wanted to. To me, I found the ideas she holds, and the tone of her posts a lot more disrespectful than the actual language. I understand the historical stigma behind the "H" word and "W" word, and I also understand that words can be very powerful. But to get upset about being called that is only letting the people who use them win. It gives them something to use against us. I feel that we should not get upset over these words, and rather reclaim them for ourselves, just like the way the gay community reclaimed the word "queer". That used to be a very derogatory term, and now it is a commonly used word, even used to celebrate themselves. I think we should do the same. It's a lot easier for people to knock us down if we take ourselves too seriously. And if we don't let these kind of things get to us, they have no ammo left. Just my thoughts... Oh, and yes, this is definitely a real job. Is shouldn't even be a question. And yes, the best job, ever! :)

I was a little surprised that Shayla got banned. Her remarks seemed more self-destructive than harmful to the community. I hope she does get a second chance, because I also hope that being exposed to people who think the way most people do on CERB might be a good and very much needed influence on her. Here, she has a chance to be exposed to men who use our services and respect us, who choose to focus on the SPs that provide a quality service rather than wallow in bad reviews, who choose to talk with SPs rather than talk about them. And here, she can be exposed to other SPs who have self respect, who respect the business and respect the men who use our services. That's the kind of exposure Shayla really needs.

I occasionally will answer a private caller and explain to them that if they want information or to book an appointment they must call back from an unblocked number. Some do, but most of course do not. As for Shayla, she shouldn't be that affected by not being here because after all, it's not a real job...according to her.

I must admit, my initial reaction to this was: "Private caller"? Why on earth are you answering in the first place? AFAIK many ladies simply don't pick up if the number is blocked, and I'm sure this kind of crap is part of the reason for that. On the "real job" thing... Of course it's a real job! I know everyone else has already said this, but still, I'll say it again. I think a lot of this comes from people who are, quite simply, jealous. They're stuck in their own tedious 9-5 drudgery, trapped there by the need to pay the bills and their own inability to move onwards and upwards (or just.... out). Sure, they could set up their own business from scratch (as SPs do), but for whatever reason they don't, and I think they envy the freedom of those who have made that leap into the unknown and found that it worked for them. And on the Shayla thing... I have to say, I was quite amused by that. I've never seen anyone commit career suicide in quite such spectacular fashion. As to whether she ever comes back or not... really, who cares?

This saddens me. Reading it just made me curl up and die inside a little bit. Really, not all of us guys consider escorting to be a bad or insupportable source of income. I can think of far worse things you could be doing than providing happiness to people. Loving someone involves accepting them as they are, not trying to change them into something else. And while I don't claim to know the personal circumstances of everyone here, I'm pretty sure that there's quite a few ladies who could give you some cast-iron counter-examples if they choose to. "I'd love you if you quit your job" is not the same as "I love you."

I was reading the messages from Shayla as they were going up. First one wasn't bad, however the next 3 were. I remember thinking O god on the second one. If Shayla had realized she was offending others on the board with the term she was using and apologized after the second... maybe even the 3rd time, I could see giving her the second chance. However I never saw anything that was apologetic, it was more a what's you gonna do attitude. I thought about it since someone suggested giving her a second chance. Since she never seemed to think there was anything wrong with what she was saying, and she really did offend some of the members here. I don't think a second chance should even be considered in this case. The mod definitely did the right thing since all of the ladies need to be able to feel comfortable and accepted here.

Well, to put it in perspective, if a guy had come on and said that being a "------" isn't a real job and hopefully no one is planning on doing it past the age of thirty, and then he had made some comment like "I don't care about getting respect from a bunch of ------s" -- well, I think he would have gotten suspended pretty quickly, too. Whether he were in his 20s or not, I don't think he would have had a lot of defenders. Being an SP who uses this board to advertise I think it's fair if she's held to a HIGHER standard than a hobbyist, not a lower one. That's just my take. I agree that she's young and people change their minds and attitudes over time. But I think part of that growth sometimes involves taking your knocks for your mistakes, and I believe that's what happened here.

Something else, in my experience at least, and as one who prefers a GFE. A lady can offer and provide as part of her menu (god I've learned to hate that phrase, best encounters have unfolded naturally, not as part of some script, but I digress) a GFE attempting all the companionship, intimacy, friendliness and chemistry that it entails. In the cases I've experienced, where I've had repeat encounters with some ladies offering a GFE, the encounters cease to have any SP/Client feel to them at all,it's more, much more like friends getting together again. And, when it comes to activities in the bedroom, they are no longer a menu list of sexual activities. It becomes more like two friends making love. And don't you make love with your girlfriend? I hope that doesn't sound too sappy and too romantic, (oh hell if it does it does) and I hope it came out right. Well from what I'm reading I think I'll stay with my current practice. Just put a lady's contact info in just prior to arranging an encounter, and delete after an encounter. I can always re-enter the information when I arrange to see a lady again, it's not a problem. RG

I just found this thread :) When I was 19 I was working as a bartender in a SC. Since all of the women I used to hang around with were dancers I thought about this. It is not the exact same but it is close. I would have been able to as long as I wasn't going to where she was working. I think watching others having my GF or wife dancing for them would have eventually built up emotional for me. Could I be involved with someone who was an SP, yes. If I was though, it is something where I would not be able to hear about her clients. I think this would be the same for most guys. I think most would end up wondering if they were better than them, or if their GF/wife liked them better than them. It would be something that a guy would need to know from the beginning and I don't think most would be able to accept it. I am curious about that also

Just a general and generic thank you to everyone who's posted to the boards on a range of topics. Definitely a newbie to cerb and to the whole SP world so to have a board like this with a range of topics on pretty much everything has helped me be better informed. Hoping to break my "SP cherry" in the near future.

For those who think she should be given a 2nd chance... think about your job. You go into work.. and one person who works there talks about how little he/she thinks of the job you both do.. whether it be gov't or working at McDonalds.. Heck I know people who work at Tim Hortons, McDonalds etc who take great pride in their work.. for very measly pay. That's tough to do in my opinion! Certainly there are many grumblers as well.. which one do you want to work with side by side? I can say.. hey. I only got into the gov't job/working at Tim's temporarily.. ' I never expected to make it a career'. and that's all fine.. but I wouldn't walk into the place I work at present and say.. I'm not here to impress anyone or garner any respect from my fellow grunts (couldn't think of a good equivalent to h----ker). I'd be fired on the spot I'm pretty sure.. if it was within earshot of my manager. I personally wasn't offended.. why? because I don't care if someone else that I don't know respects/values what I do (or in this case what she does). Happiness garnered through others opinion of me is useless. If I respect/value myself.. I'm always happy.

Damn! Don't make into certainly hero! It sure doesn't look that way from here! I'm just an old guy who has some problems coming, but not as much trouble giving pleasure. Experience does count for something. At the risk of becoming completely unpopular I feel compelled to retell an old joke: In a small Italian town there was a man of 92 years of age. This professional is certainly a real job and we do everything that anyone in a regular office/business does to prepare for each and every encounter/meeting. My education and Administrative/Fiance & Accounting/HR corporate jobs have certainly helped with running my business. We do quite a lot of administrative work (emails, PM's, phones and website(s) etc.), organizational and time management skills, finance (budgeting, taxes, auditing our books and financial goal projections etc.) and marketing/advertisement, code of ethics and business morals and of course competition but the competition certainly don't need to be at "war" or under cutting one another, most of us work together to help keep one another safe and offer advice and great support. In the end, our meetings are so much more pleasurable and fun. No minute taking, being phony in a meeting with people in a boardroom you don't care to be there with and the list goes on and on. Number one, I am the Boss/Owner and no one to answer to but me at the end of the day. Yes this is a real job and I have encountered people saying or emailing such things as expressed by the OP. This job is the most fun and rewarding one I have ever had and enjoy what and everything I do. Just like any other job, there are stressful days and we all have personal lives as well. Not everyone is cracked out for this profession but it is very much like working for someone in the in the corporate world except we as independent paid companions do all the work and our business success is solely based on us and the running of our business as such, a real business. There is so much more to my business than answering a phone/text/email and saying sure I'm available give me 15-30 minutes and then just providing the "service". I take my business very seriously and enjoy it as I get things in motion for an encounter.

Shyla is no longer welcome on this site, i find her comments rude and ignorant... Makes me sad that someone working in this profession looks down on it in such a negative way. This business is just as much a job as any other line of work and should be treated and respected as such. If your self employed working as a indie sp or working for an agency or spa you are still generating an income for yourself and should be proud. Like any job if you are unhappy with your work you should explore other options and another llne of work. The term hooker was used here in a negative way to provoke a reaction (and it worked) but we should not let a small minded person like this get under any of our skins (just not worth the reaction). She stupidly lost cerb as a valuable resource and that is going to hit her where it counts! Not much of a job when you piss off all your customers.

I don't take offense.. because I only feel pity for you. I'm prouder every day of what I do.. because of how I view it... But since you don't and don't want to make any friends/garner any respect from your peers.. I have to wonder. What are you doing here then? If you use the board to advertise.. I doubt you'll get many clients because they too care whether you're in the job solely for money or also because you enjoy it.

You know there are women here that have been doing this for a while and might take offense to this especially when using terms to describe their job.. While it is great to have goals for the future, putting down the profession you're currently in right now and making money at will not gain you any respect among your peers here when you really need it. And trust me, in this job it is good to have people on your side. Just some food for thought.

Well when I was in my twenties I had a round job....and only wanted do what I was doing until my 30's and when I have more money then I could get an oval job and have a little better life....now I am in my 40's and I have a real good square job and excellent financial stability and no debt. Now I just want to be a gigalo but I am too god damn old now :( Of course it is a real job and for as long as you want it to be !!!! Hell the last time I moaned at work was when I got my piss poor bonus cheque and the last time I had an orgasm at work was in 1999 and that just got me and my service writer in a tad bit of trouble ;) Enjoy your real job ladies !!

As a teenybopper or a twenty-something, I had long flowing hair down past my shoulders, I am a bit less than 6', and I was skinny: "Jim Morrison-esque", I had been told. That is until I opened my mouth, and people could automatically sense that I was a colorless, humorless geek, who was constantly falling in love and getting his heart broken. Today, I'm at least 50lbs heavier than back then, i.e. I am much more "well-rounded", and flowing hair is impossible today. Also my penis is not nearly as responsive as it used to be; two shots on goal is a pipedream now. However, I also don't have marbles in my mouth when I talk to women these days, I'm much more comfortable in my own skin, and people can sense that. For example, these days at strip clubs I don't even have to ask a girl to join me, I find they often come sit down on their own with me. I ask them how their day has been, and I listen to them properly, not boredly. I've noticed women in general, seem to make more eye contact with me and smile. I lost my Jim Morrison looks, but I wouldn't trade a single thing to go back to those days again. Good looks are wasted on the youth, most don't know what to do with it.:) I find that my regulars get cheered up when they recognize my voice on the phone, and want to know if I'm dropping by. Their usual business-like voices go from business-like to loose and casual. I then in turn get cheered up knowing that there are people who are cheered up by me. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, if people act cheerful around you, then that's because they really are.
