I decided to go out for supper tonight... The evening was nice and relaxing- food was excellent along with awesome service... then two ladies sat down at the table next to us while we were having the first few bites of our main meal... only to have our meals turn out tasting like a perfume factory... I think roamingguy said it best. Those who try to put down others (for whatever reason) are trying to cover up their own faults and hide their own insecurities. Really we should feel sorry for them not only because they have a dark heart, or only because they are a loser and a trash in the eyes of the good and they are evil but mainly because they themselves have so much faults inside out that they have to resort to putting down others to feel good about themselves in order to cover their own self-shame (in their own eyes only).

First let me say....you are incredibly beautiful. (see post about St. Bernard lol) Second, yes I think its a problem, some women are naturally thin and some...feel the need to fit into a stereotype that is ridiculous. I often wonder why there is such pressure to be so thin and where it comes from, media obviously for a start. I wonder at what point did women start to say that what people want and thats what I need to be? Marilyn Monroe who was WOW for a lack of better word was a size? and stunning. Angelina Jolie? Just as stunning. Either side of shaming is horrible. Whether we (or others) feel we are too thin or overweight. Either is judged and there's no one who has "perfect" And yet...we all are. Perfect in our own unique individual ways. Tall slender and beautiful like peachy average? like myself or beautiful women that have all those lovely curves in all the right places! I grew up skinny and can relate. I was always teased.Then when you become a slender adult some will accuse you of not eating, purging, or other methods of gettig rid of your food. This can cause some to have eating disorders. It seems in the press someone is always being criticized for either being to small or to large. No matter what your size one will always be smaller or larger than someone else, the important thing is to be healthy. As there is beauty in all sizes. Most wouldn't admit to it but we all make judgements on someones appearence when first meeting them, wether conciously or not. Especially in this business. There is alot that can make a person attractive but certainly when a man is viewing a ladies pictures he is simply looking for his idea of physical beauty and that includes a certain body type/size. If we are all going to be honest anyone that is included on some of the best of threads has been judged as someones ideal of beauty and those left out have been, perhaps unintenionally, judged as well, as not being someones ideal of beauty by the mere fact of omission. In the end what is important for anyone is having a strong sense of self and knowing your worth. We are all valuable and everyone has redeeming traits/qualities. Some are just more obvious on some . But as judge Judy alway says beauty fades-dumb is forever and as I say getting into a book is far more fun than just staring at it's cover.:biggrin:

When a person tries to embaress another (btw this is just my opinion) for being overweight, underweight, short, tall, bald, their skin colour, ethnicity etc they are likely hiding their own insecurities about themselves. Really, shouldn't we just worry about being the best man or woman (as the case may be) we can be and stop focusing on others. Your poem was incredibly touching, when I saw your reply I re-read it. It touched me again in a very different way. I think you are very brave to have brought up a subject that most would consider off limits but yet most of us at one time during our life have gone through. Its not an easy place to be though I've seen the devastation too many times in my life to not see how suicide shatters the the lives of the ones left behind. Parents, children spouses siblings their lives are forever changed in one moment. Nor will they, (especially children) ever understand why they werent loved enough for them to stay. My first trip to Cuba....I have now been 8 times, and going for the 9th tis March:) My first time there was Christmas eve:) Was not sure if I would like to be away for Christmas, but thought it may be interesting to see the "spirit of Christmas" would follow me there or not.... I will have to say it sure did!! I managed to bring with me $1,000 and basically gave it away to those in need. I went to a small Catholic cathedral, for Christmas Mass, and there sitting a peu was this little young man around 11yrs, he had his younger brother of 4 years in his arms. No shoes on their feet, ripped cloths and the sweetest biggest brown eyes I have ever seen! I slipped to him 100.00 in convertible Paso as a gift to his family:) He looked at me with such surprise and big tears began to fall...mine and his! In the little bit of Spanish that I speak, told him to go straight home to Mama and Papa with that and not to let anyone know about it...and he did! A few days later, he seen me walking inn the market. He got his Mother and Father to come meet me. To this day, we remain Friends and are welcomed with open arms and open hearts! I love my Cuban family:) Cant wait to see them in March! Just another thought to add, I also met this awesome lady, I asked her if it makes her sad that she can not travel as we do, her answer was so enlightening for me...she said" But I do travel....through all of you I see the world!" That will never fade from my memory!

In my "other" life, I'm a figure and portrait artist. On that basis, I can say that, when it comes to images, the copyright often belongs to the photographer or artist who created the image. Public figures such as politicians and movie stars are not automatically accorded the same degree of privacy as private citizens. I'm allowed, for example, to take a photograph of the Prime Minister or the Queen and publish it or create artwork using it without their permission. This is why the papparazzi can cause so much trouble for popular figures, politicians, actors and the Royal family. They own the rights to the photographs and can often sell the pictures for considerable amounts of money. If I take a photograph of roamingguy (whom I've not met in person) and want to use it for commercial purposes, I should get him to sign a model release that gives me permission. But if I sell or give the photos to him, he will need to have my permission before he copies, alters, distributes or uses the photographs because I'm their creator. The creator of a photograph or other image has some leeway as long as the people in the image are not obviously identifiable. Getting model releases is extremely important when minors are the subjects of photos and other artwork. If there's an issue about using Steve McQueen's photograph, it's likely to be with the photographer who created it. Copyright on companions' photographs will vary, depending on the photographer. Because many of them are so personal and intimate, most respectable photographers will retain the right to use the photos as part of their own promotion material, such as their websites, but give the right to copy, alter and distribute the images to the lady herself. Things start to get murky when the photographs are taken by friends and relatives for one purpose but are later used for very different purposes, or when someone acquires private photographs and releases them by publishing them on the Internet, for example.

Jamaica... I love the culture and the people. One thing really sticks out in my mind the most - the locals are incredibly trusting, likely since they value honour. I was on the beach one day at the resort, and there were some locals selling their wares - handmade carvings of various animals etc.. I was amazed at how detailed the carvings were, and marveled at how long and painstaking a process it must be to complete each one. This was their livelyhood; their way of supporting themselves and their families. Anyhow, I was going for a dip in the ocean and just had my swim trunks on - no money with me at all. I told one of the vendors how much I loved their carvings, and told them I would be back later to buy some when I had my wallet with me. What happened next completely floored me, and I remember it like it was yesterday: The lady said (in a thick Jamaican accent): "No problem mon...I tell you what - you go and take the carvings, mon; you come back later and give me the money." I was taken aback completely. here was a complete stranger willing to trust another complete stranger to her (me) and take me at my word that I would be back to pay her, after I had already received the merchandise in advance. Again, such an act speaks volumes about the kind of people they are. Imagine something like that ever happening here in Canada! I won't be holding my breath on that one...

I think I would like to be a Deer. They are one of the most beautiful animals I've seen they have a gentle graceful presence that captures your attention, their gaze feels often as though they can see through to the heart of you. My favorites would be Mallorca and Ibiza. Been there a few times over the years and have always had a blast!!! Great partying, amazing music and total sexual debauchery!!! On top of that the beaches are world class, the surfing is pretty decent and there are some pretty amazing restaurants.

I often find during the daytime, hardly any staff or they are busy with other things, liking nodding off,drinking coffee or with a customer, never had an issue with front desk staff small chain or larger hotels in Ottawa. I find the cleaning staff on just about every dam floor I go to when visiting, I just simply smile and say "Good Morning" Like I'm on a mission...then again....I am :)

I want start off by thanking those who read the poem. I ask that you keep an open mind and that there is no reason for concern. Re-read the poem I know it sound like I'm talking about a person but replace that person with death. How easy it is to get misinterpited. I do suffer from depression and I deal with suicidal thoughts often. They are uncontrollable thoughts nothing more. It doesn't control my actions. With help I've learn to manage and to deal with them. There are lots of people out there that probably feel the same way, I ask them not to be ashamed of it. It is not your fault and you may not be able to control your thoughts. I too felt ashamed and scared to talk about. I know first hand how easy people who don't understand what we may be going through can react. I've lost friends over this cause they can't handle it or the freak out sometime they even look at you differently. For those of you who never experienced this please don't judge us or look at us differently we are still the same person. For a long time I was afraid to tell people how I feel because of reaction I've got in the past. I've lost 2 people close to me do to suicide in the past. It effected everybody around them and I believe they to we're to afraid to tell anyone cause no one new they were depressed. But I understand now why they did what they did. They may no longer be suffering but the just past their pain to their loved one. There are ways to help manage the pain, so don't be ashamed or afraid. If someone reaches out or talks to you about how they feel please don't over react just listen. I hope I shed a bit of light to some people on what I struggle with but I am strong and capable of getting through it. Even in my darkest hours I still have a choice. So please this is not a cry for help nor me seeking attention or help. I just want to open people's eyes and help them understand.

I totally agree. I also much preferred to be spontaneous during the entire year with a surprise romantic dinner out, an out of the blue gift or a surprise delivery to the door of jewelry or lingerie. Just wanted to say that you're dead on with these notes, Ashley! I'd add that I try to make a special deal of a first meeting, and bring a little get-acquainted gift - always trying to make a lady feel appreciated (because I do :-) Re: timing - I have to admit I have lost track of time once or twice (including with you, as I recall :-) but that does not mean I am trying to push the time, and I try to get back on schedule when I do notice; I wouldn't want any SP to think it was uncomfortable for me to be reminded of the time, as I should have been watching it. It does help if there is a clock easily visible for a time check, even if we don't want to watch it constantly; and I think a professional SP should remind her client when time is getting down to the 10-15 minute mark. Finally, a question re: tips. As you suggest, I usually count the donation out ahead of time in an envelope. If I think the experience was especially enjoyable, I usually tip on the next meeting, by counting out the tip with that session's donation. That seems more discreet/polite than throwing extra money on top (especially if I paid at the start); but maybe it is better to tip directly after the experience? Opinions, ladies?

To return to the OP's questions... :) The ladies who have very active reco threads tend to be new to the industry, and younger. The ones who have been around a little longer (by which I mean more than a few months) tend to get recos far less often. This doesn't mean that they suddenly became bad at what they do... Bear in mind also that some SPs seem to actively solicit recos, whereas many don't, and some seem to actively discourage them. Bear in mind also that a low-volume SP will necessarily have a much lower pool of potential reco-writers. Finally, I think we guys are far less likely to write another reco for someone if we've already written one, so SPs who have a larger proportion of repeat and long-term clients are also likely to have far fewer recos. Of course, it's also possible that someone doesn't have recos because there's a good (ie negative) reason for that... but you won't find that out here, as the rules of the board dictate that the negative stuff doesn't get said. But if someone's really worth avoiding, people will say things like "can't comment publicly", or "PM me for details". That's often a bad sign. So, to conclude... you can't actually tell much from the fact that someone doesn't have a lot of recos.

Beautifully said and so very true. I respect everyone that comes to me and I will not deal with anyone who doesn't respect me. I also agreed greatly with the discount bit. We are not items; we are beautiful women (in all our shapes and sizes) and what we provide is important and so are we.
