I am not a regular poster, nor a long term hobbyist but I am looking for some feedback on the issue of booking appointments. My experience applies to both SPs and MPs. On multiple occasions I have booked appointments in advance (1-2 days) either by PM, email or text; whatever is most appropriate for the provider. I then am asked to confirm the day of the appointment typically several hours in advance...okay no problem I do that. But where I have an issue is when I do the follow up a couple of hours in advance and I get no response. In some cases I only receive an email several days later with a reason why they couldn't make the appointment. Now I can see if it was a emergency or a serious issue, but that isn't often the case. Isn't it common courtesy for the provider to let a scheduled appointment know if they are not available (via PM or text) as the client is planning their day accordingly just as the SP does. After all as a client I wouldn't want to be a no show w/o explanation for them. Am I missing something or do I have the wrong set of expectations on fairness goes both ways?!?!

I agree completely. I have met some very wonderful people as an SP and I love to help make my clients feel good. But when it starts to seems like they are relying on you solely for their happiness it begins to become stressful and can be a very harmful situation for the client and SP alike. Seeing an SP is a great way to help feel good in a number of situations but relying on anyone or anything but yourself for your happiness is not going to lead good places.

A reputable provider has built a reputation based on discretion. In this business, lack of discretion will sink you. Do your research, look for someone who has been in the business for awhile, has a website and ads. Check reco's and posts and look at the relationship they have with others. This will tell you a lot about their business practices including discretion and confidentiality.

The lineup is a bit degrading and I for one don't like being recognized by one MA in the lineup but choosing another. I'd much rather make an appointment with my MA of choice based on pictures or past sessions. That being said, Ottawa still has a long way to go to reach Toronto standards. It's the quickest way to ensure your request will be denied. Sometimes, when I get angry with a negotiator, they respond with 'it was just a question'. NO. It was not just a question. You asked me to bargain with my body. Not acceptable. Occasionally I've responded to these requests with "Sure! But first, give me your bosses number, so I can call her and let her know that wages are up for negotiation and you'll go to work Monday for 60% of your salary". Usually gets the point across :P

Someone covered this in a rant before, but lack of manners and politeness bothers the heck out of me. -neglecting to say thank you when a door is held open -dropping a door in peoples faces -hogging priority seating on public transit -treating people like dirt because you feel more important then them. This one I see often as I bring customers to nice restaurants quite a bit, some of the VP's and directors I bring out are the rudest most condescending people I have ever met. if I didn't want (actually need) their money I would have choice words for them, generally I give an extra big tip, put my best face forward when dealing with the server and try to make an apology when we leave (out of earshot). Sometimes they see me being extra polite and turn it around, generally not so much. -general lack of respect is my biggest pet peeve.
