Bill C-36 is many things. It is an imposition by government of their morality agenda. It criminalizes sexual behavior between consenting adults. On this Labor Day when you hear Members of Parliament applaud our Canadian landscape, recognize that not all Canadians have cause to celebrate this day.

My reason to refer to the negotiating thread is because first, there is going to be overlap between bartering and negotiating, and some points in that thread would be appropriate to consider in bartering. And second, Summer posted (copied/pasted) I believe this discussion was brought up before and mod would not approve it Which was in reference to negotiating. I stated that the lady determines her rate, and it is up to her to determine if bartering is an acceptable form of payment. If a client/prospective client brings it up, then it starts reeking, IMHO of negotiating. I didn't say no to bartering, just it should be up to the lady to suggest it as an option, and there are risks to a mutually beneficial arrangement of barter (an encounter versus reciprocal services) Just my opinion RG

You are correct and I apologize to the OP for responding in such a passionate way. Firstly, I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. It would be wonderful if everyone just minded their own business and left others to their own devices. If she has an issue, it should be taken up directly with you not aired publicly. Having said that, I wold hope that most gentlemen would see through this and realize that when someone feels the need to step up and air dirt publicly and vehemently, that perhaps the person they should be avoiding is the one who is most negative and vocal. You are a stable and known provider. You have established yourself and what you provide. Is this world, sometimes it's a blessing for those who believe the rumors to not come around. I believe those who are serious will not be deterred. If this situation has blown up and libel is involved, you may want to think about legal action, even a small step. I have done some bartering with two clients that are/were long term. One it turn up to be horrible. The other one is still a good regular of mine, he once paid for a trip for me (solo) and I gave him x amount of sessions. Someone paid for a session for my tattoo one and got x amount of time But it's not something I would consider on a regular base and with new people.

I read that he was saying she is older then stated. However, it still is not acceptable for him to do this. He could have been in grade 12 when she was in grade 9. Or he failed a number of grades and is still in high school. Lexi I am sorry you are having to deal with this.

A few years back I did see one of my regular SP's on my birthday. And I did get a little surprise present waiting for me when I got there (nothing service related though). Just something she'd gone out of her way to get for me which touched me. During our session she did fulfill a particular fantasy of mine but she would have done that anyway. My Bday had nothing to do with it. Here's the thing though. When booking I never mentioned it was my birthday nor did I ask for any special treatment. She knew it was my birthday because there was one of those "Happy Bday Castle" threads started that day here on cerb....so a couple hours before our appointment she went out and got a little something for me. Personally, and these are just my feelings, no judgments here, but as an adult I would feel very uncomfortable, asking for, or expecting any kind of special treatment on my Bday, I stopped doing that when I was about 12 lol. Just to throw out for discussion, and just my opinion, but a birthday special presupposes an existing SP/Client relationship. Not something done with a lady who is a stranger to you. Now lets say a lady offers a birthday special, be it discount, birthday cake present whatever, would you, the client, provide something to the lady on her birthday? Shouldn't the giving of something on a birthday be a two way street. I don't offer birthday specials but once I have established regulars and they tell me it's their birthday, I will do something nice for them within our session. I think this is only appropriate if you know the person. How is an SP going to know it's someone's birthday? Are they going to show her their driver's license? I'm thinking probably not. Many people ask for discounts.. I'm a student.. okay, good for you but I charge equally to all my clients. A lot of entitlement these days imo. I hate to poo poo this idea and ruin the fantasy but this is our job and how we make our living. I've noticed lately that a lot of guys calling are expecting way less for than what we offer. We also have bills to pay. Would clients go to work for less than they want to be paid for? I highly doubt it. If I gave everyone a discount for whatever reason, I wouldn't be able to pay my bills.

Starting off a client/SP relationship by arguing is pretty stupid. A session is going to be way better if the lady is ready and willing than if whe is feeling pressured and uncomfortable. Seriously guys if she says no just wait til tomorrow or whenever. It's in your best interest!

Whatever your field is, I would be curious to know how many times other professionals have been asked this very question. Dear gas attendant, it is my birthday today, can you charge me less per liter or in total? Dear mechanic, it is my birthday today, can I get a discount on your time and/or car parts? Dear dentist, it is my birthday today... Dear cashier at the grocery store... Dear psychologist... Dear landscaper... Dear babysitter... ... ... ... Would you ask those people for a discount for your birthday? Why not? So why does it always seem acceptable to ask this famous question to SPs aka sex workers? Because restaurants give you a cake with a candle on it for your birthday? The best way to "have your cake and eat it too" is to go to a restaurant and then go see an SP! True. Plus the need to spend time haggling every time you do it, since you can't have an up-front rate for your time if you don't know what you're going to be exchanging it for. I get the impression most ladies aren't fond of haggling.

I would just add to MightyPen's comment that since it is the lady who determines what her rate is, it is up to her to offer bartering as an option for paying the donation. It isn't up to a client/prospective client to offer to pay via bartering, it reeks of negotiating. And most ladies have it in their websites no negotiating. It would be tricky to, pardon the pun, negotiate a bartering arrangement where both parties have a mutually benefited. The simplest thing is to pay the lady's rate. If the lady needs a certain service she has the money from paid encounters to pay for the service. My barter arrangement then would be I'll provide you with X amount of dollars for Y amount of your time LOL A rambling RG

I think it's one of those ideas that is good and fine in theory (MightyPen as usual summed it up well) but I would say likely to be bad in actual practice. I think the can of worms it would open is that it would encourage too many guys to start offering services in return instead of the requested donation amount. It's all too easy to picture a fellow telling one lady how "the other lady agreed if I washed her dishes and walked her dog I'd get 30 minutes!" Or "you let my friend have time with you for court-side tickets, why can't I??" It's my opinion that it's a lady's right to decide what her time is worth--be that a $ amount or some other good or service. And if the only time such an exchange happened was a when a lady specifically advertised for such, then it may not be too bad. But as I say, doing so comes with the risk that it will increase how often guys try such negotiations when it's not appropriate or wanted.

I think it's totally fine if both parties are comfortable with it. What two people choose to exchange is entirely between them. After all, what's the difference between asking for $500, versus something you both agree is worth $500? Part of the trick, though, is agreeing beforehand on what's really worth $500, plus ensuring that Service B really does get performed following the delivery of Service A. There can be a lot of practical problems making service-barter work in real life. Currency is immediate and convenient, which is one of the reasons it's so popular in general. ;) Incidentally I voted "no opinion" because I don't think is a bad idea, nor a great idea, just a bit tricky and situational.

What interest me to read is what the title says, example: "Look at my new pictures", "You should see my sexy bum", "Swallow", "I need you cum", "I want you in me", etc... Normally I wait a few days to do a recommendation to think how to present it the best way, since this lady is still in town thought I would do this tonight.
