Just wanted to congratulate WrinkledinTime for achieving over 100,000 reputation points. Clearly a well deserved and extraordinary milestone and a CERB first! Yes, it true -- If you go to the main page under Top 10 Stats and select reputations it shows an amazing 100,259 at the time of this writing. CERB members come and go, some are a staple and continue to participate. With WIT I have come to rely on his many posts for keeping me informed on news affecting this industry but all his posts are most insightful, helpful and appreciated. Please join me in congratulating him! Oh, and as a bit unusual (as anyone that really knows me knows I am), I call on lurkers that might not have posted before to join me. Make your first post here count by congratulating someone who truly deserves our praise, respect and admiration for his contributions to this wonderful community, I dare you! Maybe you have been reading his wonderful posts for years but are not the type to post here? Than I ask you to at least say "thanks" :) Sincerest congratulations WrinkledinTime, I am glad you are around and hope you will be here forever!

My chat room tip is: don't bombard someone with idle chit chat the moment they enter the room. Personally, this is why I rarely go in, because when I do, I get swamped with private chat requests from people who simply want to ask me about my day. While I do enjoy keeping up with some 'friends' in the chat room, I'm really not there to shoot the shit with everyone about the weather and their work day. It's a great feature to meet people, ask questions, and set up dates. But when it feels like an old-school 'chat room' with strangers just talking about nothing, I bolt.

Well, I hate to be negative, but... I'm not convinced by how well seeing SPs will actually prepare anyone for real dating, I'm afraid. The problem is that SPs (or at least, the ones I've met) are, by their very nature, pretty good at finding common ground and making polite conversation with someone they've just met and know next to little about. They're also very good at making that initial meeting fun, and remarkably non-awkward, and making you want to see them again. And your average random date, who may be a random-ish selection from society at large... probably isn't going to be so good at stuff like that. Porthos mentioned the potential for rebound... in that vein, one thing I've found that SPs are *really* good for is the prevention of bad decisions. I've found in the past that I've sometimes gone on dates, or gone on further dates with someone I knew wasn't really a soul-mate, simply because... well, it'd been a while, and... I'm sure many of us have been there. But it's much easier to make a good call if you know you can still get laid whenever you like. Seeing a SP is a lot better than ending up in bed with the wrong person for bad reasons.

This is a very sensitive subject but not one that should be pushed under the rug, as if it doesn't exist. Everyone has the right to choose who they have an encounter with SP and Hobbyist alike, our choice. I myself a Ebony(Black)/Native Companion was together and married to a white man for many years, we have 2 bi-racial sons. I have never dated a black male, may be because my family is so large and everyone is your cousin or distant cousin. I've always dated white men and that is just the race I'm use to or it may be because I started dated my ex-white husband when I was 15. I have no exact answer to why. I don't see many black males, 2 regulars as a matter of fact. Other races mainly Asian, bi-racial, Native and mainly White contact me. I see it as if someone doesn't want to meet me because of my ethnicity and stereotypes that is their loss and sad. They are missing out on a very nice sweet person but I don't let it bother me, I will admit it use to hurt my feelings and make me wonder what is wrong with me, why am I not good enough. Then I realized, I'm not the problem. For any one person that looks at me with those "racist" thoughts, their not in my books good enough to be even graced with my presence. There are many wonderful people who would and are delighted to spend quality time with me. To be blunt no matter the color on the outside of the SP, a kitty is a kitty and we all have unique personalities, looks, shapes, sizes, hair color and something special to offer. People are entitled to have their preferences but times have and are still changing, so may be it's time to think outside the box and try new things and types. I am open to seeing any race and legal age but it is all in the initial approach and contact, point blank. I have met a 20 year old that was more kind and respectful in person than a 40 year old. In terms of the SP not wanting to see black males, I think there are underlying issues that we will never know and that is her right and choice. SP's don't make these types of decisions for no reason, whether it was their upbringing, bad experience or whatever. She has made this choice for a reason but no two people are a like. IMHO I never base who I see because of a not so great and respectful encounter with Mr. A who is white and just crude and say well I'm not seeing Mr. B who is white because of Mr. A. It is a very sensitive issue indeed, To just let her go because of her preference is harsh - she is still a human being and free will is her right. Any reason that she have to make decision is hers and should not be dragged out in public. There is subtle way to refer clientele to other sp within the agency, if whomever on the line is booking with her - you could ask if they are african-american.. if they feel offended, just defer with a polite explanation how it is her preference and you respected that so you need to confirm it for her. If client decided that you are a bad business person by respecting your employee choice that is their loss. If anything client should be more comfortable knowing you are willing to go the distance and protect and create a safe comfortable working environment for your employees. my ramble anyways .. ** added: there were more than once occasion i have been asked what race i am on the phone during a booking... i dont find it offensive but i ask the lady why is it important for her and should we still go trough with the date... i make my decision based on their answers really..

A lady's boundaries are a lady's boundaries, and should be respected. Why she doesn't wish to see African Canadians, I don't know. But if forced to see a client she doesn't wish to see, for an intimate encounter, my guess, it will be a terrible encounter for both the gentleman and her. And really, if she has to have the encounter, it will be more like forcing her to see someone, less like a consensual act. The service an sp provides is a special & unique type of service :) So I think that personal preferences regarding clientel is perfectly aceptable. As an sp you want to spend time with men who you are comfortable with, and as a client-would you not prefer to spend your money & time with a lady who actually wants to spend time with you, rather than one who does not? The difference between the two, in regards to levels of service would be extremely opposite. Now..... if a restaurant or any other type of service providing business, indicated they choose not to serve African Americans or any other race...That would be wrong.

She should go Indy; that way she will have the freedom to define her business plan and select the kind of customers she wants and those she doesn't. For an agency, that kind of "selection" may cause a problem for the credibility or the reputation of the agency. For the SP, she has the right to choose the customers she wants to offer her services, but, maybe, the agency setting does not suits her.

Well her reasons could be simple prejudice or something completely different, but what ever they are I respect her right to have them. In particular because this is posted under FS providers, I think it is every woman's choice to see or not see anyone they choose (clients also). I think she has the right to discriminate on any bases she chooses (in this case only), most of which would be completely unacceptable under any other circumstance. I also think it is possible to not be prejudice but not believe in or be comfortable with inter-racial couples (when one of them is you).

Hi all, Saw oriental crystal this morning. She is an attractive asian lady, the pics are 100% her (I even saw the outfits...). The only real negative thing to note is that she is probably mid 30s, and not 23 as advertised, and obviously from china and not singapore. I've waited to weigh in here because I can understand the conundrum all too well and there is no easy answer. I faced this situation hundreds of times (literally) when I worked down south as a provider and an agency owner. Non black providers at home seldom wanted to service blacks and it was a challenge for me. There are reasons to numerous to imagine as to why they refused, the fact was that they did. As an agency owner I did my best to screen out potential issues by asking up front if a provider had an issue but more often than not, they would lie and when they were face to face with a client, they would find a reason to bail. The only solution I found was to work with her at addressing the issue. If there was a valid reason for her resistance (sexual assault, boyfriend rule, etc) then I would do my best to work around it and try to get her help to work thru the situation. If it was a basic bigotry then she was let go as I had neither the time nor inclination to try and change a belief system. cat

I have 2 dogs. I am lucky to have a space with lots of room. 3 Floors. In my basement, which is a rec room, has a kennel, so I put them there when I am working. Also I got a leather couch set, which helps to prevent shedding to get all over my guests cloths. For what ever reason they would not accept cash,only a credit card. I drove downtown to help her out and put the 50 dollar security deposit on my Visa. She was for ever grateful and there was no extra play time for me, in fact I was to be at a dinner function,I just pushed the dinner to a later start time to help her out. It put a smile on my face, for helping out someone in need. We met the next morning as planned I had no higher expectations nor looking for a discount. This will be a much bigger issue for you when bawdy houses become legal. As a legitimate business you will then be subject to the Human Rights Code which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race when providing services.

I think you should ask in your interview what the ladies limitations are before you hire them. This would save you the headache. I have no issues with race,religion,etc but I do with age..I won't see anyone under 25...that's my choice. These are just some of the issues you need to be aware of before hiring a lady. just my 2 cents

Ugh. This is a tricky one. I fear there are no easy answers. First, as everyone else has said, every SP has an inalienable right to choose who she sees, or not, and to vet her potential clients according to her own criteria. If one of those happens to be race, or color, or creed, so be it. It's her call; nobody else has any right to overrule her. Secondly: I can see this as a huge potential problem for an agency. Many potential clients may not - or may not be inclined to - readily distinguish between "SP X won't see <insert race/color/creed here> clients", and "This agency doesn't cater to <race/color/creed> clients". And for better or worse, an agency *is* going to become associated with the ladies who work for it. If they're generally good and generate happy clients, a good reputation for the agency will follow. But negatives also apply. And so it seems to me that an agency owner who has a business to run and a reputation to worry about may legitimately decide not to associate themselves with such screening techniques. It's not just SPs and clients who get to choose who they're going to do business with.

I find it incomprehensible that people would even ask for this. Is there any sense as to the demographic of those requesting this? I've read that young people aren't, in general, taking on board the safe sex message. It also worries me that if people are asking, they may be finding providers somewhere who are willing. All the more reason to stay with reputable and well established ladies. I also hope that ladies immediately put anyone who asks for this on their do not see list. Porthos
