There. Finally found the letter that I mentioned yesterday from Toronto City Council (in the form of a JPG image) to Premier Wynn. It will be presented tomorrow on the National Day to Stop Violence Against Women. Thank you to the people who care about the safety of women! And

The censors are a work in progress, I am always working to make sure we have the LEAST issues obviously. This month has been very stressful so cut me some slack and I assure you were are working out the bugs. Some people are still trying to post sexual services, if you would all stop then the censors would not be an issue right!? Makes my job (and the other mods) very hard. We will work out the bugs.

Over 11 or so years in the business I've learned not to get angry. I don't even get frustrated anymore. I just say, if you can't enjoy it don't do it. So I enjoy the job and take pleasure in it. However, I am a bit mad at this new stupid law and wanted to write a letter. If you have a letter or a sentiment for our dear government, please feel free to share. You've beat me here .... :icon_wink: Being located in Montreal (and in Ottawa yesterday for that), my involvement was somewhat limited to doing things from a distance (i'm saying i had the easy job of the lot for this event). Having been in town a couple of weeks ago, maybe back in October, when i visited the venue before things went into full swing, that the brunt of the work was born by Loneskater's and Alexandria's shoulders. I've seen what was put in in terms of efforts and major investment, both in time and money, over the past few days, including yesterday, to make this happen. Cleaning, decorating, changing lightbulbs etc..... And Murphy was at work; what could go wrong in a building like this did go wrong. My vantage point was particular this time around; I helped organized but was also a spectator to the organisation (if that makes sense). I know, as i'm sure all of you are, that none of us organizers are in this to make money, just to bring members of the community together for a good time. As a sidetone, I've also gotten feedback from our performers overnight; they've enjoyed doing their numbers for us and stayed a little bit with us afterwards. Lengthy note, i know, just to tip my hat to my colleagues.

When I first entered the adult entertainment industry I was young and at the time it was for the money and the fact that I could have more freedom with my time (spending more time traveling, hanging out with friends and family) etc...However As I have grown up and tried different professions in this industry (Massage, Independent Courtesan & Dancer) I have gained so much more insight, memories & friends! In addition to my last post and in response to Lester, I don't believe a complaint from a neighbour would change anything. LE still has to get in the building and knock on the door. The MA and gentleman can still just ignore the knocking at the door. The only scenario that could be different is if the neighbour makes specific complaints about criminal activity going on there and LE gets them to swear an affidavit in support of obtaining a search warrant. That being said, most of the Judges I know would not grant the warrant without very specific allegations from the neighbour. Speculation alone would be insufficient. IMO, the neighbour would have to go as far as saying they have seen money exchanged and overheard it was some form of solicitation. BUT, in any event, LE still can't just bust down the door in executing the search warrant, so we're back to the sanctity of private locations. To go further, even if one were charged (which would be a wrongful arrest IMO), the neighbour's credibility could easily be torn to shreds by defence counsel and if the search warrant is quashed, all evidence derived therefrom is inadmissible and charges will be dropped. From speaking with lawyers, law professors and judges, I have been told that the real purpose of the legislation is to focus on what is visible on the streets and go after human trafficking. A noble cause. I hate the thought of human beings forced into the industry. The legislators are not interested in what goes on in the privacy of the nation's bedrooms (or hotel rooms :icon_wink:). IMO, the collateral effect of this will push the industry more in the closet and what happens in private locations will stay private. Additional Comments: In response to Vivero's post yesterday, I'd like to point out that raids have been made at some spas in Ottawa in the past few years, even before this new legislation was on the radar. It does happen. I was fortunate enough not to be there when they occured and have to deal with the stress that would entail. But I was told by a lady I know well what happens. Essentially, LE shows up but does not try to create a panic or be too forceful. They ask politely if they can just come in and check things out because they want to make sure that the conditions are clean and safe, and make sure the girls are ok and no one is being forced to work there against their will. Once LE realized that the MA's are there on their own accord (and it really is their choice), LE left without the threat of any charges. I was told that the gentlemen who were there got a pass and LE did not ask them for ID or interview them. It was all about the safety of the girls. And this goes to the heart of this matter. IMO, private locations are safe from raids because of the process involved to execute a search warrant. Public places are not. However, I believe spa's are a bit safer for the MA's as opposed to being independent. If LE tries to shake down all the spa's, alot of these very same ladies would go indy and this may increase the risks by being one on one with an idiot in private (I do acknowledge that indy's have their own safety practices, but still). The effect of closing down all spas is the exact opposite of what this legislation is intended to be. So I do not expect that the manner in which raids have been conducted in the past will change with this new legislation. And for those places that are doing human trafficking - they have it coming and I believe charges are well deserved, and I would commend LE for a job well done in those cases.

Kudos to Mistert and Loneskater for organizing the biggest Ottawa social to date which was awesome. Special thanks to ALO for their generosity (thanks for the drink) and the folks who provided the spectacular entertainment. Also want to give a shout out to Honeyman for his contribution of honey samples. And to everyone else who came out and made this an event to remember, just goes to show that we have a nice group of people in our community. My only regret - not being to stay longer. The question is, can we look forward to a Valentine or March Break social?

Yeah. I've actually given up on a couple of posts now because the censor insisted that I had included proscribed words, and I read and re-read my post but couldn't find the culprit. Another post that I did ultimately finish took a while to fix (and the problem certainly wasn't on the word list). I almost included a note at the bottom of that post about "you wouldn't believe how long it took me to post this because..." but it kind of sabotaged the substance of the post itself so I struck it off. And yeah, it's embarrassing to read some of the weird Franken-posts of the past that are now a weird collage of the original text, substitutions of whole and parts of words, and newly inserted phrases. Sigh. I will also say that... this is changing my sense of the place and making me second- and third-guess myself as I post. I'll work on that, since it's up to us to sustain the community if we want it sustained. But I definitely feel an off-putting level of scrutiny and fear, and it makes me annoyed at the fully intentional chilling effect of this messed-up legislation. I also realize that mod will already understand everything I'm writing here and is enormously more frustrated by the whole thing than I am. I'll try to come up with some constructive suggestions so I can help fix the problem instead of just pointing it out.

I got into this cause it's just plain fun! Getting to meet lots of new and exciting people all the time is a real benefit of this. Doing something with my hands is a real bonus too, as I'm very good with my hands, as well as other parts of me ;-) The money is just a perk, and although I have a 'day job' that I would never give up (I LOVE my job!!), it is great to be able to get paid for something you do well. Some get into this for the money, and some because they feel they have to, but for me, it was just for the fun of it!

I'm fortunate enough to not have a "lifestyle" to support. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. My "day job" pays the majority of my bills. Right now a lot of my extra cash goes to training for said "day job", travel, paying off my student loans, and stashing it away for a raining day.

I'm having issues with the censors. I know the overall changes are a huge ordeal and pain in the ass and still a work in progress, but I think something has unintentionally gone awry. I don't appreciate the way the censors are automatically changing words to other words, and also affecting words within other words. Including not just new posts (which we can preview and change before posting as needed), but every single post on the site, and posts made weeks or months ago that we can't edit now. It's making people's posts make no sense and look like idiots. I was reading a post I made a few weeks ago that made sense at the time, and completely innocuous words I wrote are now changed to other things and what I said doesn't even make sense now, and I can't edit it. I would rather see dots everywhere and let people figure it out than see things like in-call changed to Porn-Friendly or cli-cking changed to cloading and uplo-aded changed to upfuned, cli-ckable changed to clickable (those are actual examples). Most of them don't even make sense. I accept, understand and respect the need to actually censor words, but automatically changing words to other words to in people's posts after the fact is putting words in their mouth and it's weird. There must be a solution. Also, the new words don't actually show up in the "Preview", you only see them after you actually post live.

I heard of CMJ a couple of years ago actually and it sounded like a whole lot of fun, but didn't really have the ovaries to do it (they're way stronger than balls ;)) One of my friends got a membership last year and was telling me all about it. How great the girls were, how much fun they have, how great the money was, how the club worked as a private, as opposed to public, and he said I would absolutely love it. Malibu and I had this conversation last week. The input is candid and valued and I'm grateful to each and everyone of you that chimed into the conversation. Here are my thoughts on some of the things posted. I can really only speak from my personal experience at CMJ, as it's the only place I've ever "worked": Privacy: walking into the building - our building has the right amount of people coming and going for it to be comfortable and there is zero labeling on the outside of the building at all that it contains a Hostess Lounge. If there was a beaming sign outside that said "you sexy neighborhood rub n tug" I could see it being a bit horrifying. meeting someone in the hall - an incredibly rare occurrence that we, as hostesses, try to prevent at all costs. Sometimes I wish it wasn't so awkward shuffling someone back into a room, but we usually just laugh it off. We peek into the hallways and can hear the doors open and close so we typically know if someone is wandering the halls. cameras - we have cameras only in common areas and definitely not in the rooms or bathrooms. That's for our safety and security, not for our pervy viewing pleasure ;). Experience: bonding with your MA - I absolutely love getting to know my guests. Do all indies take the time to get to know you? I would say some do and some don't. I think it's the same with a spa. Thankfully we have CERB so we can chit chat about what you like prior to a session. Longer sessions are also very accommodating to cerebral massage. clock watching - even when we're having a great time (which is most of the time) we still have to be mindful of the time. If you're concerned for time, we encourage you to book more time. I/we want you to have the best experience and enjoy yourself and not all of us are made with exceptional internal clocks. Sometimes we're booked back to back, sometimes we're not and have a bit more leeway with time. I'm mutually concerned with not being late for my next appointment and making sure my current guest doesn't feel rushed (which I don't like either.) Concern for the MA: scheduling her own time - for the most part, we make our own schedules. If we need to be somewhere before or after and it's not a common last-minute occurrence, Jasmine says "no problem." If we want to run down the street to grab a coffee, bite to eat, or shop at bit, we do that too and give her a heads up that we're stepping out so she can let the members know we'll need a few minutes to get back. I've even gone to yoga class in the middle of a shift because it wasn't particularly busy and there were enough ladies on to cover. I can't speak for other spas, but CMJ is very accommodating. I even book sessions when I'm not scheduled because I can :) making sure she gets all the proceeds - to be completely blunt: this is our choice to make. The MAs that work in an establishment do so for a variety of reasons: safety, security, marketing, camaraderie (which is big for us), having a set schedule, not dealing with "idiots", not having overhead, running much smaller risks both personally, legally and financially, and the list goes on. If you're concerned for us and are staying away because we might get a smaller paycheck, we're definitely going to have a smaller pay check if you don't come see us at all. WealthyCowboy is very kind and generous to tip well, but we understand that isn't an option for everyone. Having heard the indy/spa discussion from a hobbyist's perspective, I definitely have a better understanding, so again, thank you for sharing. Malibu, thank you for asking. One thing that EVERYONE can usefully do: if you try to post something that gets censored, and you think it shouldn't be, drop Mod a PM to say what (and why). It's not just forbidden words that can be blocked; ones that are OK can be explicitly permitted. I've just sent him one about "cir-c-u-m-stances" becoming "cirstances". And if something that's banned isn't on the published list of banned words, let Mod know so he can add it. The more we do this, the better the blacklist and whitelist will become and the less we'll have trouble with it. It's much easier for Mod to fix the bugs when he knows what they are!

Where there is hope, there is the chance to make things better. We're a great, creative bunch who have a different perspective on things. They zig, we zag and life continues on. Eventually things will catch up and work out, until then....WE CUDDLE!

I certainly appreciate your post... I too support the need for the operators of this site to ensure that they do not breech any laws but the current situation with the censoring is I fear going to have an unintended negative affect on the site. I spent about 45 minutes the other day trying to get the system to accept a corny humorous post about what super hero we would be. It was not overly sexual yet time after time it was rejected... i ultimately had to input it one line at a time until i found all the offending words some of which were just crazy. Not everyone will be as addicted as me so I think people will just say F... it. Let's hope we quickly settle into a better place sooner rather than later. I am sure a lot of girls here might be surprised to see the conditions that some girls work in... not every girl works in a fancy spa or a nice new condo... i would bet every guy here has seen at least one girl who clearly does this for the money!

What a great experience to have met with Eva! She did everything and more that I had requested. She made me feel instantly at ease. Spas are in the business to make money, so that happening is VERY UNLIKELY as it would quickly be the death of their business!!! And I'm not sure why one would think, in the unlikeliness of this happening, that it would likely occur at a Spa as opposed to an Indy??? It's NOT likely to happen at EITHER!!!

There's only two incidents I recall in the last few years around here. First: a spa on the Quebec side was raided and shut down, which IIRC was because it was right next to a daycare or something (I don't know which was there first). I don't know whether anyone was actually prosecuted or not, but I don't recall hearing about it. Second: ISTR that when Operation Northern Spotlight happened (the first one), one or two spas got visits from LE, as did some independent ladies. But those weren't aimed at catching clients; the official reason was to check up on the well-being of the ladies working and to ensure they were all old enough and not trafficked. They never explained how going after well-established indies and spas was going to help with this, though. Of course, people whose day-jobs are in law enforcement visit spas in an unofficial capacity all the time, but that's an entirely different matter :) I'm sure any other spa would too, if you asked :) The main problem would be coordinating the MAs' schedules, but that's going to be the same anywhere.

Exactly how I feel !! I'm not sure what the concern is in meeting someone you might know at a spa. I think that it would be interesting to have a friend or acquaintance that has similar interests that I could talk to or compare notes with. Do you think that person is going to run off and tell others or your significant other that you met at a spa? Would he not likely be in the same position as you? And in the unlikely event that was to happen, you just say you were there for your sore shoulder !! that spa was recommended by someone you work with to fix your sore muscle(s) :icon_wink:
