You know there are women here that have been doing this for a while and might take offense to this especially when using terms to describe their job.. While it is great to have goals for the future, putting down the profession you're currently in right now and making money at will not gain you any respect among your peers here when you really need it. And trust me, in this job it is good to have people on your side. Just some food for thought.

Sorry to hear you feel that way. I am extremely satisfied in making this my career.. Although I've had several what I call 'square' jobs over the years I have been doing this 'job' longer than any other and am always thankful I've found it. For sure in the beginning for me it was a double life I led and my delicious little secret from most people.. but that was tough on me. 25 years later I actually openly tell certain people I meet (that I feel comfortable enough with) that I'm an escort when they ask what I do. I have been a waitress, secretary, teacher, sales rep, house-painter, tree-planter, long time student, physician, security guard, worked in construction, lawn maintenance.. etc etc.. and although some jobs I loved.. I can say with complete satisfaction that I've loved this job the most. I am as an escort.... a sexual surrogate, a dream come true for some, a fantasy come true for others, a safe place to experiment, a confidante, pleasure provider and in several cases a therapist! Everything you do in life can be viewed as necessary; important; valuable or all the opposite.. completely up to you. Life as with everything else is 'what you make it'

From time to time I get a call from a "private caller" telling me to go get a "real" job. Do you consider this to be a "real" job? My opinion is that this profession is just that a profession, deserving of as much respect as any other profession. We, the service providers, take much care in what we offer, earn respectable incomes, are respectable intelligent people who get good reviews. So how could it be looked at in any other way? Perhaps these "private callers" are just ball less ninnies who have much time to waste and no common sense?

But since you don't and don't want to make any friends/garner any respect from your peers.. I have to wonder. What are you doing here then? If you use the board to advertise.. I doubt you'll get many clients because they too care whether you're in the job solely for money or also because you enjoy it.

This thread is the first time I can remember seeing the term "hooker" since I joined the board. It's especially surprising seeing it used by one as a reference to their own profession. It's not surprising that many ladies will prob. see it as a pejorative description.

There is a big difference between an escort and a hooker and I think many people here will agree with that

In fact it is often referred to as the "Worlds Oldest Profession" but aside from being professional I consider the ladies that take this job seriously to have a real vocation and provide a much needed service. Coming from the other sides of things, I don't believe in a higher being or fate, but I'm not sure I believe in free will, either. Oh no, Contraman, I'm stealing your contrarian powers!! All kidding aside, there are a lot of things that go into our decisions that we are not aware of. Our conscious mind sometimes finds reasons for things we've done instinctively after the fact. I'm doing a poor job of explaining it, but I've come across a lot of articles and interesting reads over the last couple of years that question how much of our personalities are predetermined by genes, and how much of our decision-making is ruled by biology. In essence, yes, we make our own decisions. But to a certain extent the kind of choices we will make are already determined once we're born. I always aim to learn and grow and change, but I'm willing to entertain the possibility that there may be other things behind my decisions than me simply weighing the pros and cons. I'm not sure if we have free will or not, but I thinks it's possible that the level of free will we have, pure freedom, I mean, is negligible. But I know that I don't believe a higher power is putting people, events, or anything else in our paths to teach us things. I believe all of that is random. I hope that kind of made sense.

I am a strong believer in God and in science. The way I have always reconciled this is to subscribe to the concept of determinism, but not active manipulation by a higher power. I believe that 13.7 billion years ago God caused the big bang, and as such set the universe off on just one possible set of outcomes. I believe an omnipotent being that can create a universe can set it in motion however it wants to. I believe right from the start, the formation of atoms, of molecules, of stars, of planets, of galaxies and of life was already set out. The laws of physics were set at that point, and everything follows from that. While I believe that all actions are already planned out, I still believe in free will, or at least the appearance of free will. We don't know the outcomes, so we still have to live our lives as we would. That is the only way to live it. It does not diminish my enjoyment of life, the little things and simple pleasures, or my curiosity for what I do not know. I'm just a passenger enjoying the ride!

I was very glad Ian won, but I never realized how much he would win by. If Danielle hadn't made a point of voting for Dan (and watching it was clear she did NOT want to do it, but was doing it out of principle -- having said she would do something, she was making a point to him specifically) the vote would have been 7-0 against Dan. Considering his entire motivation for doing the show in the first place was to win again, this must have been a humbling experience to know that the first time he won 7-0, the 2nd time he lost 7-0 (essentially, if we know Danielle's vote would have been against him) If you checked on jokersupdates reports of the live feeds, you'd have known Tuesday night that Dan was planning to throw the final competition to Ian. He already knew Ian would choose him, and this way he figured he had a for sure vote (Danielle's) in the jury (because yes she is that dumb). In the backyard, at 2am Wednesday morning, he was timing his pre vote jury speech and not once did he do a version referring to Danielle, it was all about sitting next to Ian. When Danielle was listening to the 3rd comp scores on the questions and heard Dan miss the first one, she must have suspected something by that time. When he missed the next 2 as well, and Ian wasn't missing any of them, she would know for sure he was throwing it in order to get her evicted. I was only surprised by Jenn's vote. She seemed to like Dan's style, but surprisingly didn't vote for him. It could have been because of the answers to the Jury question, or Ian's speech, which was pretty good. I thought Britney would have voted for game play, but either way, Ian played a good game and her vote to him was cool. I thought in the end Ian actually performed better in the game as a whole. Dan made an arrogant and collosal error in judgment thinking that Ian was the best one to be beside. Considering that Danielle never made a move without him, she would be the 'floater' to sit beside, in spite of her comp wins. By the time he evicted Shane, the majority of the Jury would see that she wasn't playing she was being dragged as a human shield for Dan, and someone who could win comps for him. If he had sat beside Danielle, he could have used the whole "coach takes player to the end" argument. People would have respected that, and noted that Danielle was his puppet, not a player, and he might have gotten the votes. He also would have been able to promote his reality books with that win too. Britney would have voted for him, and there would be others who wouldn't have rewarded Danielle for being such a damn fool thru the show when it came to Dan's playing her. I'm glad he didn't win the 500,000. He shouldn't have even been there for the $50,000. He took that from legitimate players, imo. Ian was pissed to learn about the F2 with Danielle, but really, why didn't it occur to him that Dan had one with her? All it would have taken was the two of them to actually discuss it, plus even tho Danielle's information about Dan was scripted by Dan, in the After Dark, alot was true. If Ian had paid attention, he would have evicted Dan. And had he evicted Dan, that would have been a really important move as well, and put him very near the top of great players in the game. At the end tho, chalk him up to yet another one tricked by Dan to get Dan closer to what Dan wanted lol. Additional Comments: Big Brother Canada will be starting in February, 2013, I believe.
