My ads, like others who've been doing this for a while, started off in newspapers, usually weeklies. If our clients assumed the only time the ad was 'good' was the day the issue came out that would indeed be a LOT of money wasted, and one very busy day lol. i found that internet advertising, particularly sites like CL ES at the time, and now bp, have 'trained' clients that the only 'good' ad is one that is not just posted that day, but preferable posted within the last couple of hours. They may 'take a chance' and called someone with an ad over 4 hours old, but that seemed really rare, and possibly only if they used some kind of search filter. Basically an ad on page 2 was a dead ad, and in Vancouver and other busy cities, your ad was on page 2 within a couple of hours. I did however learn to put schedule in the online ads, so please take the time not only to look at 'today's ads, but all the ads, and you will possibly see the same kind of information. CL has very strict posting limits, and flagging and it may be possible a lady's ad gets deleted without her knowing, or she cannot post another one. With bp, the expense is so high, that she simply has to make the choice to not post daily, or utilize the less expensive sponser ad option. In fact i think there are some cases in some cities where it should be a huge red flag to see someone posting many times a day, or even once a day, when frequent ad posting is not necessary. It kind of starts to look spammy, if not a bit desperate, neither of which is attractive. So the sp may have decided to limit her ad posting, on a less busy site, in order to appear sane as opposed to needy lol

Not much of a story but I hit one pretty hard tonight, on the bi hi on my way out to Bayers Lake. Is anyone else at a loss as to why the police are not supporting these girls? She is saying she worked with 100+ other underaged girls. We saw how effective the last sweep was. When do LE realize their tough and tough ways are not working? It seems every time there is a case of underaged or trafficked victims it is cracked by the public. All the LE ever seem to do is break trust with the people who help them. I'm incredibly upset. These were children and the law has failed to keep them safe after they came forward. Unacceptable.

Going back about 12 years now when I was at the fire hall, a coworker just bought a new volkswagen diesel and he was bragging on how good his new car was on fuel. We had a fuel container at the station that we kept full in case of emergency so while he was inside one of us would go and fill up is car with fuel. After 2 weeks of him owning his new car he was amazed at how good it was on fuel, he had done 700+ km and the needle never moved. He got mad one day after taking his family to Toronto and back and he had to fill up his car with fuel twice for the trip. We finally confess to him about the prank because he was going to complain to Volkswagen about it.

I had the chance to meet with Alexandra this week. I had spent some times checking her site and reading her blog. The more I read or looked at her pictures, the more captivated I became. I've used the PetroCan plan for a few years now. Very convenient. I originally bought the phone plan from 7/11, but they got out of the phone biz. PetroCan picked up the remains & I've been with them ever since. The phones aren't the best, but they git the job done. Texting on my phone really blows, so I may opt for something newer. It may be a function of the quality of the phone or the Rogers network, but every now & then, I get no reception bars. Frustrating. You just have to wait until reception comes alive again.

It should work, petro Canada uses the rogers network... plug and play, so to speak.

I have an extremely severe and deathly allergic to shell fish. I do mentionned it on BIG LETTERS on my website. About two years ago,I had a gent visiting me around 2pm, so right after lunch time and he had sushi for lunch that involved shrimps. When he kiss me (he used mints prior) his breath tasted fresh so I didn't think anything, but a few minutes later I started to feel really bad and soon enough I was choking and he had to call an ambulance. I love that last connection before someone leaves especially as I genuinely enjoy (and will miss) many who grace my door. This is something I always feel the urge to do however with new clients (and some repeats) I will let them make that move as I have encountered those that prefer to just "go". It's more of a newbie mistake on my part. I was ignorant and unexperienced to many of possible threats one may come across as a independent provider. I didn't really consider that I came to become independent when I was ready too. I had several years experience working at winnipeg's upscale massage parlour that wasn't full service. Despite my many ups and downs over those years, I gained what I consider to be priceless experience learning types of clients, and ways to get along and or enjoy all sorts of different men's personalities and company. Without realizing it I gained valuable insight on little things to avoid and heard many experiences in general chit chat with multiple co workers over those years. I even miss my old boss, even though back then I was fired and rehired more times then I would like to admit, he was like a father figure, always giving me heck for not saving for school or a car. I didn't put much thought into darker elements of the industry or that some woman arent as fortunate in their experiences. I lack the competitive nature of many. I also lucked out and am very blessed to have attracted positive clients who were kind enough to share their experiences with other great clients. Having said that I am not ignorant to the fact that their are other woman who have suffered unfair reviews by disgruntled men for all sorts of reasons. Many likely pushed a boundary, and got mad at the result. Several indiv. tried to slander me with fake reviews and stories, and again I lucked out despite completely freaking out on them while waiting for mods to wake up and remove their late night posts. A few were even banned. I have never allowed myself to bullied, shamed or lied about on the other erb site. So many other others haven't been as fortunate. I feel for the providers as I honestly think many may not have deserved as much negative attention as they may receive. Everytime something negative is posted it is potentially a hit to her income, and some guys can't read a mention of a lady, even if it is positive and appears she may gained a better understanding as to what works for her and her clients, without slandering her name. I could of easily had things turn out the same way on several attempts to hurt my reputation as a provider. Most woman join this industry inexperienced and aren't as fortunate avoiding bad clients and or aware these boards to refer to. Here in winnipeg, I truly wish to see less bullying towards the providers. More respect and acceptance for individual restrictions, rates and WAY MORE DISCRETION! It isn't unheard of that we are sent copies of pm's between pooners and I got to tell you, SHARING OUR LOCATIONS AND EVEN AREA PUTS US AT CONSIDERABLE RISK. If you wouldn't want us doing it to you then don't do it to us. I lost my condo and literally everything I had worked for. I look forward to a new adventure in a new city. I know I would not be in this position except to lead me to bigger and better things. And I thank all the gentlemen I've met here and will miss many of you! Interesting point-of-view. I guess it depends on how you look at it. Since a regular listing is $10 and a sponsor ad is approx $30-40 depending on the week, I consider the sponsor ad to be more expensive, but I can see how one would find it cheaper, over the course of a week. The sponsor ad includes a week listed on the side, and a one time post in the regular listings. The $10 regular ad still stays in the listings for a much longer than a week, but goes lower in the listings, while the sponsor ad stays at the side, for one week only. But I think it makes more sense to bump a regular listing 3-4 times a week to the top rather than purchase a sponsor ad for the same price. Especially with their stupid community removal crap, the last few times I bought sponsors, they got removed very shortly after, so I felt ripped off. I had a feeling they weren't looked at very often though. I wish BP would give us an idea of clicks per ad. Thanks everyone for responding so far! :)

Ahhh, the ?tipping? debate! I noticed there was a decided void in SP response so I will take a minute to share my thoughts? From an agency girl perspective, tipping is often a way to generate extra income because after they pay the agency and the driver, they usually end up on the short end of the stick. 10 years ago, I ran for an agency, we collected $260 for an hour, with $110 going to the house, $40-$100 to the driver depending on where the visit was located, which left me maximum of $110 with as little as $10 in my pocket. With a $15 book on fee and mandatory car cell phone fees of $25 per night, I needed 3 full fees per night to make working worthwhile, God forbid I get credit card calls, which somehow always worked out us getting nothing. We were not allowed to refuse a call so we had to find creative ways to ensure we were paid. Tipping for extra service was the only way to keep our heads above water. The nice thing was that we had a shift, we worked, and we went home and had a life. That said, it was unfair to the guest who would end up with less than what he expected because he was not prepared for the extra fees. Independents are in a slightly different boat. We usually have a higher upfront fee, but we also assume ALL the costs incurred, which is far more than many realize. If we charged what we feel we should to get our ROI, the protests would be heard long and loud. Many Indies have a smaller bottom line than an ambitious girl at a well run agency. So when it comes to tips, many things need to be considered. In the south, SP's are tipped much in the same manner as a restaurant. Anyone walking a restaurant wouldn?t consider walking out without leaving a tip if everything was satisfactory. I tip everyone in the service industry, from the girl who washes my hair, to the man at Suny?s who pumps my gas because a little bit from many adds up at the end of the day. Flowers and trinkets are lovely in thought, but a girl can?t deposit wilted stems into an RRSP, and my bank doesn?t seem to take dildos, massage oil, garter belts or silk stockings on deposit -go figure! As Joyful C has so wisely stated, most SP?s live a fragile existence financially. We provide an illusion of playful luxury for our guests benefit, but rest assured, 90% of the time it is smoke and mirrors. Behind the scenes we struggle to pay our bills, put diapers on our babies and try to take care of those we love, all the while working on a way to get to a normal existence if that does in fact even exist. An extra $20 from each client equals a full appointment by the end of the week, and at the end of the month that pays the cell phone, buys the groceries and lets us take the little ones away for the weekend after we have paid both rents (home and incall), all our advertising, babysitters, hydro, car repairs, personal maintenance and the same expenses everyone else has. Not to mention the monthly payments on augmentation, lifts, tucks and anything else to keep us up to the exceptionally high standards expected if we want to continue making money in this arena. There are few SP?s who can keep up the daily client service to ensure long term financial viability in this business because of the emotional and physical toll this business extracts which sometimes means extended time offs to get our heads, hearts and bodies back in order. We have no paid holidays, benefits or paid personal days. If there is a crisis that forces us to take time off, we lose money and clients which often means we work regardless of illness, pain or any other of lifes challenges. Each SP has her own reasons for working, but the universal element is that we all are trying to achieve some sort of financial stability. I never expect tips, and I can count on one hand how many I have received since my arrival in Canada because of the nature of the business here. Hate to tell you guys, but Canadian men are not known for their generous nature, they rank a close second to Germans in this realm (I think the outlandishly high taxes inflicted in both countries has something to do with it!). I would never expect a tip from guests that have me on retainer, I see them weekly. But unless you are going to be a bankable commodity in a SP?s life, a tip relative to the quality of service is a sure way to say thank you and have her know you mean it... Catherine
