Law enforcement is NOT on a moral crusade here. They enforce it when they're told to. If and when, that is. And if they have the budget to do so. I've seen all the fear mongering "what ifs" and imo, people are scaring themselves for nothing. They are not going to be waiting outside your favorite local lady's apartment waiting to bust anyone. They would have a hell of a case trying to prove that. Stay away from the streets or ads on BP that look to good to be true. Someone is eventually going to take one for the team so ask here if anyone has seen a particular lady. Stick to ladies that you know have been around and are NOT LE. Just because some guys can't pick and choose who to call up at the last minute or ask the good old "Are you available now" and "Rates, services and location?" does not mean their hobbying lives are over forever. Do your research and you will most likely avoid the risk of receiving sub par service or bait and switch. It is your government that is only using this new law as a tool to win the next election. We are all just pawns in their game. Don't vote for them in the next election. It's as simple as that. I would like to re-visit this thread a year from now and see what has changed. I can sometimes see the fakeness of "Hun" a mile away.c "Hi hun, R U available?" So fake and not to mention don't use letters to replace words. Ugh.. Got the chance tonight to reconnect with Christina tonight . I have not seen her in about six years but it felt very much like it was only yesterday. I've been making a small donation at the end of each month to POWER for the past six or seven months and shall continue to do so. If everyone made that small donation then the funds that are going to be needed to make changes will start to become significant. In time, it will be organizations such as POWER or PIVOT that will bring change. Support them as you can. Out of curiosity, is there a difference between sending a donation directly to POWER or is it preferable to send it to the fund raising campaign?

I think most people would agree that to be ethically poly, you need to be open with your partner; everyone has to be on the same page in order to participate equally as a consenting adult. I'm thrilled to bits that people are exploring this freedom to find what works for them. But at the same time, monogamous relationships are still entirely cool for a lot of perfectly healthy and liberal-minded people. And such voluntary monogamy can be a source of enormous strength when the relationship is healthy, functional, and satisfying. It's all about how particular people are wired up, and what they need and expect from their relationships. We're human beings, and enormously diverse. So those needs, and what it takes to meet them, are naturally all over the map.

Indiegogo does take a percentage of POWER's earnings, but if it weren't for this campaign we probably wouldn't achieve our fundraising goal so I'm thinking it's win-win (win for POWER for raising $10,000 and win for Indiegogo for making 4% of our earnings). Part of my story (as most of my struggles now are not my own): I spent about about 8 years being physically, psychologically and sexually abused by members of my immediate and extended family. Somehow, and I do not know how, at 12 I managed to summon the inner strength to put an end to it. Although I did not tell anyone about what was happening to me (although I'm positive there were many adults that knew and did nothing) nor seek help for many years, the abuse affected me physically and emotionally well into adulthood and has definitely shaped the person I am today. Although I am now successful, educated, liberal, open-minded, caring and forgiving, there is no room or tolerance in my life for anything bad happening to children (even in movies I have to walk away) or the adults that cause these bad things. Over thirty years later I'd like to say I've learned a few things. One is that what you name something, what you call it, matters. Maybe only on a subconscious level but often on a visceral in your face level. My opinion only, but "sexual abuse of a minor" is far too vague and low impact to correctly describe what happens to these children and the impact it has on them. Let's call it what it really is RAPING CHILDREN! A harsh term but more accurate. I am aware that for some abuse is a cycle, they were abused so they abuse. For most it is not. Most are so affected by what happened to them that even the thought of causing that much pain to another can make them sick. The difference could be whether or not they get help, or their own inner strength or moral compass, or the nurturing they received in their lives apart from the abuse. Or it may be simply that it is not called rape so they don't make the connection to what they are doing and what it really is and the effects it will have. I may be totally wrong but if it even stops one abuser and saves one child... My journey continues.

Monogamy is something that has been pushed on us - mainly be religion - but which is not natural for some people. Even monogamous species of animal have been observed with other mates. I disagree that it's not cheating when you see someone else because it is. UNLESS the two people in a formerly monogamous relationship sat down, talked and agreed that the relationship is no longer monogamous. Then it's not cheating. To hold to the old belief that men cheat more than women is naive. Monogamy works for some and it doesn't work for others. The most important thing is to recognize what works for you and what doesn't and don't lie to your partner about it. Polyamory takes a hell of a lot more emotional maturity and communication than you'd think (I know this because 90% of my friends are poly and have a primary and up to two or three secondaries). You have to be honest with yourself, and then be honest with your primary partner when you're discussing what the parameters you are both comfortable with are. Polyamory takes work, but it's for people who want to have multiple relationships, as opposed to the people who use the word "polyamorous" as an excuse to basically sleep around. Polyamory is not sleeping around. It's having multiple relationships. Not flings. There's no one-size-fits-all. Some people just want to be promiscuous. Others want multiple relationships. Others still are happy with one relationship. Heck, some people don't want anything: fling or relationship. It's their life and whatever mess they may make through dishonesty is theirs to clean up.

His point i think is that it was simply being in the incall that led to charges. The charges were and still are (well up to the last couple of months) the main charges laid against any sps and any clients found in them. From what i can see, part of the paranoia comes from the fear mongerers who don't understand the bill. They claim that there are things in it that LE can charge sps with, and so in exchange for getting info on clients and to testify against them i suppose, these mythological charges will be dropped. They are unable to come up with what those charges would be tho, if you press them. Some may vaguely imply that the sp could be charged with running or being in a bawdy house, but seem to forget that 210 is being dropped due to the SCC ruling. No 210, no bawdy house charges. There is some suggestion that abolitionists with long time handles on some forums are now posting in a style to create fear, and paranoia.

I don't know if the term "true friendship" can be completely quantified. I suggest to also be very aware of what hotel location you are visiting( you know the type, shady places with many report in news). As some locations may be more closely watched. Morning If there is one subject that gets my blood pressure up and the "mean and ugly" comes out, it is child abuse (closely followed by the abuse of vulnerable women). Over the years I have been lucky enough to lead / raise funds for shelters like the Yellow Brick House in Aurora and the various Interval Houses in Eastern Ontario, and have seen the damage done to these folks. Assuming they are strong enough to fight through all the issues resulting from the abuse, I believe that they will be strong advocates for those who are not as strong. In my opinion, we need to protect the vulnerable, but especially the children and to provide them with any and all options to help them not only survive but thrive. Also my opinion, now this is the "mean and ugly Tom" coming out, once charged and convicted, public humiliation, and knee-capping, then putting them in with the general population in our penal system. What happens there is called street justice. Sorry if I have offended, but to me it would be a reasonable way to help protect the kids and women who are unable either physically or mentally to help themselves.
