Often in life we confuse the things that are happening to us and around us with what is really important... we seek out distractions because life is hard and I know from personal experience that there is really nothing in life that is harder than being a parent.... however no matter how Hard being a dad is there is also nothing in life life that you can do that is more important. Biology allows pretty much anyone to become a father and perhaps that is one of nature's biggest flaws .... genetics, for better or worse, passes along the building blocks of life to another human. The X and Y chromosomes that we as parents contribute provide the DNA that will determine all the biological factors of this new person ... simple things like eye and hair color and more significant things like inherited genetic predispositions for medical condition. Right from the moment of conception the DNA that we contribute is silently determining if we have been a good father. Once the child is born pretty much every decision we make.... will have an impact on the life of our children... biology may enable us to be a parent but it cannot prepare you to be a father.... conception and birth cast you into the role that ready or not means you become responsible for someone else's life and all too often we learn that role on the fly.... there is no Beta test... no dry run...if we fuck up, and we all to often do, we do it real time in someone else's life. The role is all to often to much for many of us, especially men, who way to often make decisions that limit or remove themselves from the lives of their children... decision that are made in the moment but that have long term impacts both for the child who grows up with an absent dad and for the dad who may not realize the loss that will be in their life until they are much older and they regret the choices they have made. I know I'm painting a pretty gloomy picture.... who in their right mind would sign up for this grief.... well I would.... Being a dad has brought me the greatest joy in my life and also the most pain....but it has been the most significant thing I have ever and will ever do. I'm 54 now with close to 30 years of experience as a dad....I look back every day at my failing as a dad... at the things I have fucked up and at the impacts I have had on my children and I am amazed that my children are as amazing as they are in spite of me being their father... in many ways I know they have deserved better and I wish with all my heart I could have been... that I could have been better at protecting them and loving them. But alas they have been stuck with me. So on Father's Day rather than be thanked by my children I want to tell them how lucky I feel to be their Dad and to tell them that I know I have not always been there when they needed me the most but that....I love them more than life and will continue to be the best dad I can for them because they are Amazing and I can't believe how lucky I am to be their Dad.

Personally, I love to write about sex and talk about sex however this is one of those questions that to me, is more about the titillation than the actual pleasure. Oh dear. This makes me think of what to me now is a rather funny story but originally, not so much! Two annoying experiences today, that's it. I'm buying everything online now. 1: go to Best Buy to get a grad present for my friend's kid. She wants an iPad, great, they got them. Ask sales clerk to get one out of the locked cabinet. Then it goes crappy. "Have you heard about our protection plan?" Oh jeez not this BS again. I tell the kid I'm not interested and I just want the tablet please. No way. He launches into a spiel about how he is "not on commission"...as if that is supposed to make him seem more sincere. then tells me how great the plan is. I repeatedly tell him I am NOT INTERESTED but he keeps going. I try telling him my Visa card provides all the same benefits, I know protection plans are a scam and a moneymaker. I argue for at least ten minutes. Nothing gets through to him. Since he isn't listening to me I ask to see his supervisor. Who them starts the exact same crap all over again. He blatantly LIES about Visa coverage. So I have now been waiting over fifteen minutes for them to get the tablet out of the case and let me buy it. Patience is done. "Are you going to give me that tablet or not?" The kid smiles "I'm not going to let you buy it without a plan!" As if he is worried about my sanity. I leave, without the tablet. And am NEVER setting foot in Best Buy or Future Shop again. Round 2: Chapters Go for a Starbucks and browse books cause I am now in a foul mood. Find book I want, go to register. "Do you have a membership"...no I don't want one..."You get 15% off blah blah blah"...well why don't you skip the memberships and charge less? "It's so we can serve you better"....sure by data mining and selling my info. Screw that. No more Chapters/Indigo either, everything I want is on torrent for free or EBay for cheap. I used to like shopping but both of them literally drove me out of the store. And stores whine about poor sales. Fuck them.

Well I suppose if your into writing and talking about how you like your experience, then post it and chat about it, otherwise ...just wait till your face to face and chat. Kids remember all the weird shit we did to them. It's called damaging your child's upbringing. At the same time, your kid probably remembers your good points - vaguely....maybe. I am a huge sports fan and for me, THE sport is football. The CFL preseason has started and the first league game is being held on June 26th. As always I am excited about the kick-off to the season but more so this year because of the return of Ottawa to the league. A couple of years ago I spent a few days in Ottawa and while biking around the Rideau Canal I quite unexpectedly came upon Lansdowne Park. The mere sight brought back so many memories - Russ Jackson, Ronnie Stewart, Whit Tucker and all of those incredible games against Ron Lancaster and his Roughriders. In three of the last four seasons Moncton has hosted a CFL game, sold them all out and I was at them all. There is renewed talk of an Atlantic team to be based out of Halifax or Moncton and if and when they do put that together then I will be in line to be the first season ticket holder. This morning I looked at the Ottawa home schedule, thinking of a multi purpose visit of course, and when I selected the buy ticket option I was terribly impressed with the number of tickets that are already sold for this seasons games. My reaction is easy. "Good for you Ottawa." Many of us on the East coast are very jealous that your team is able to return while we still wait. There are so many Cerb members from Ottawa and surrounding vicinity that I write this hoping that all of you will support the Redblacks and the CFL overall. It is an iconic Canadian tradition. You have a chance now to build your own memories. Congratulations on having your team back this year. I am quite confident that I shall see you at a game this season and if I book two tickets I would love to have someone accompany me. :)

Faking is, unfortunately, a strategic part of the game and seems to me to become increasingly a part. It's often called "diving" when a player with the ball will fall with little or no contact and will then vet very dramatic rolling around and clutching the appropriate body part. It's illegal. But whether it's called as a foul will depend on the referee's interpretation and culturally there seems to be a greater tolerance for it in Latin countries.

I only go to stores where i can get in and out without walking 3 blocks to the milk section, then 3 blocks back to where to buy it, and then still have to put it in the bag myself after paying for it. So while i may not only select the owner operated store, I am more likely to be in Waves over Starbucks. It's a chain, but a small one. Dollarama, not Walmart, etc, in a small mall (one floor, 10 shops) not a metropolis mall. I have a friend who when he finds something he is looking for at a particular store, even BB or FS or (hey those are funny!) or LD (London Drugs), he simply returns to the same location, to the same person. He'll call to see when that person is working, and goes back to work only with them. I think the clerks encountered in the OPs example are pushed by employers to do all that. In some places, failure to say certain things can lead to problems for the employee. i think they should have backed off once they asked and you answered of course.

Unfortunately I was never really close to my Dad until a few months before he died. At least I was able to get closure with him as did he..may he rest in peace. Tomorrow is Father's Day, and I am excited to tell you about my father. Acadian French family, this man worked hard all his life! Left school in grade 3!! Nobody thought he would ever make it in life. They said " you have retardation, you can not have kids or they can be retarded too, you will not be able to work other then farm work" ( yes that is the language they used!) Off to the farm her went! Slaving over hay bundles, mucking out cow barns, doing whatever they asked of him. He remained there for many years, his family thought this was the best for him, as they did this in his day. He lived a miserable life on that farm, abused and neglected:( Spring forward to adulthood. He met my Mother, was love at first sight. They ran away, hopping trains all the way west. Came back east with my sister and married. He began a job with Canada Post, then later DND. He also ran 2 business, Carpet cleaning and commercial cleaning, ran a staff too! For a man who "was not suppose to make it life and retarded" he raised 3 daughters, worked everyday of his life to provide. Has a heart of gold and is a gentle as a kitten to those around him. Uneducated and illiterate. Some may say success is having comfortable and thick bank account. I say his success is exceeding beyond anything that others thought, always kept his pride, never a day with out a job ( still working BTW 66 yrs), and has the respect of all his daughters. Yeah - I'm following it, as many games as possible. You're right about Holland v. Spain. I'd have more respect for Holland if they did not have De Jong playing for them, after his kick at Alonso in the 2010 final. At least they got rid of van Bommel. I'm kind of holding back on predictions and also on supporting a team to win. I want to see good entertaining football. I would like to see Messi make this his best World Cup ever. If Suarez is fit enough Uruguay should entertain and it's Forlan's last World Cup. He deserves a good run. Chile look exciting.
