Unfortunately as long as there are people, there will be ego issues. Mean and rude comments come from places of fear. fear of not being good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, rich enough etc. Don't let it feed your own personal fears. Feel compassion for whoever is stuck in that loop and acting out because living in fear is no fun. Report it, forget it and surround yourself with goodness. Don't give anyone else the power to make you feel less than divine!

I know it's been said already but definitely report it. Many assume that the rules to Cerb do not apply to pm's. That they are private and therefore people can say whatever they like. This is simply not the case. The expectations are the same in pm's and this person has likely had other complaints. After reporting them, forget about them. This person is simply not worth your time.

Unfortunately, there are a few mean people in the world. They will try to bring you down, make you feel bad and questioned yourself, but you know better... You know who you are! You know you are a good person. Do not let his affect you. You have many friends here!

Emily, there is a lot of good advice here. Listen to it. Surround yourself with the people that love and repect you for who you are. Report the abuse to the mod, its your right of defence. Ug. Easier said than done, but try not to let it get you down. You know that's exactly the reaction such people want so don't give them the satisfaction! Instead--if you deign to spend any thoughts on them at all--think about how miserable their life must be that this is how they act.

I wonder if it is boredom or is it that it is easy to take things for granted when they come too easily? I recall an incident at the local Lawblows. SO & I were waiting in line at the Express Checkout (1-16 items). We were behind some fellow who had a HUGE order & for some reason, he decided he wanted to use the Express line. As the cashier was handling his order, he proceeded to start chewing-out the cashier. He felt there weren't enough cashes open to handle the surge in customers, so he was justifying his need to use the Express. British chap. Reasonably well dressed. Entitled. You know the type. Well folks, my SO is not a person with whom you wish to fuck around with. She works with the public & encounters all types of assholes. She knows how to deal with assholes. She has performed in community theatre & has an actor's ability to project vocally. She's also a semi-professional singer with a wonderful, expressive range. Since we were next in line & in close proximity to Mr. Entitled, Hooo-boy, she tore a WIDE strip off this particular asshole. The performance was award winning and quite impressive. I'm sure the whole store, parking lot & neighbourhood heard her eloquent, verbal ass-kicking. Mr. Asshole didn't have any reply. He was totally in shock. His balls quietly rolled out the bottom of his trousers along with a weak stream of urine. He shamefully loaded his purchases in the cart and bailed (without his nuts, I might add). Ms. Cashier had a slight & grateful grin as did the others waiting patiently in line (we're Canadian after all...we're very polite). Haven't seen that particular asshole in that store again. more often than not, rude remarks or comments like that, come from people who have low self esteem, and are unsure about themselves. generally the best thing to do is ignore them, as they are clearly lonely and fishing for attention. besides no one has the right to judge anyone.

Remember, the onus is on you to be sure, and they won't accept "I didn't know" or "she told me she was" as an excuse. I can think of few faster ways to ruin your life than to be caught with an underage sp. As far as the privacy thing goes, tell her beforehand that you expect to see proof of age. She can put tape over the name and address if she likes. you simply need to see the picture with a date of birth. That isn't to say that all sp's will embrace the idea. The market has changed so much lately. There used to be a smaller number of good to excellent SPs. Now the same number is there, but they are adrift in a sea of bp flotsam and jetsam. Re the NDP: I am a lot more angry about the wholesale robbery going on a city hall. No matter what you read in the papers it is actually way worse. I know some senior guys there. People are scared to say anything because they can get fired and lose everything. All the senior management are keeping their heads down and waiting it out. Canadian Museum of Human Rights=$350 million and counting=$1000 bucks or more out of every household in Manitoba. All for a frikkin vanity project for the Aspers. $350 million would fix up a lot of schools and put decent housing and water supplies on a lot of reserves. But cocktail parties and tax writeoff dinners are more important for some people I guess. The Tories are just as bad. Different bunch of crooks but we will still get robbed. MPIC and other Crown assets will all be given away at pennies on the dollar to Tory backroom boys.

It's been awhile for me. Life interferes and no matter how intrigued I am, time is an issue. Whenever I become slightly bewildered, I think of three things. I believe what you're after is under the User CP: look under "Settings and Options" on the lefthand side of the screen and select "Edit Options". At that point there is a section for "Messaging & Notification".

I think that had she been a man, he would have instead only said that he was "not a nice man'. He probably should not have used the word lady, as I think that is what this writer latched onto more so than the "not nice' part. If we are going to dissect one phrase, and that is the phrase the article is dissecting, it would have had different results if they weren't assuming he was saying that women had to act like ladies. Don't be discouraged. If everyone was really ready to "hang up the hat" so to speak, there wouldn't be a CERB, or other escort review boards. Take the comments posted as each person's individual experience/outlook. But you should, if you wish to partake in this lifestyle give it a chance. Just had the call from dad that has been expected for a bit that Mom passed away after her quite long fight with liver cancer. It is sad but a relief at the same time as we know how bad she was suffering recently. She did make it almost to year 5 after the initial 3-6 month expectation when diagnosed and had a large number of happy trips to places she really wanted to go as well and let us that went along have good memories too.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Stay strong, this is just one of life's passages.
